Hi guys. So if you didn't already guess, this story is dead. Due to irl circumstances, and due to a dwindling motivation on my part, this story has been dropped. I've simply been too busy with life to continue—or at least, I was—but I also no longer feel this story if that makes any sense.
RPG Proficient: Yeah, this story has gotten to the point where I look back and wonder what I was thinking when I wrote it. It's unfortunate considering that I'm proud of the characters in this story, but it is what it is.
Anyways, concerning the content of the story itself, as we were writing, our ideas got increasingly convoluted to the point where it kind of didn't make sense and wouldn't ever realistically happen—especially in a universe where the zombies are on baby mode, and the setting is Japan, where pretty much everything is illegal.
RPG: Yup. That was always something that secretly bothered me about the story. It wasn't nearly difficult enough. Speaking of the story, it's not like we plan on leaving y'all in the dark with what was planned to happen.
Here's a rundown of what was basically going to happen. In the Mall Arc as we've come to call it, the characters would manage to create a semi-self-sufficient "village" of sorts. Mitchell and Wakaba would eventually get together sometime in the next chapter or so, as you do when you're in the apocalypse. After that, there weren't really any big threats to worry about, so of course, we had to create one, and what a fucking mess that was now that I think about it. Insert, the "Bandits".
RPG: God, looking back on it, it's so unbelievable and needlessly dark. Basically, Soryan and Mitchell would've been out scavenging for supplies and whatnot only to come back to an empty mall and some dead survivors. Everyone had been taken to a bandit stronghold/camp. Essentially the main characters would've been big damn heroes, but obviously have a dash of "cold reality" with most of the girls going through…a very rough time until they got there basically. I'll let your imagination do the rest.
It was stupid. One might say foolish. Soryan and Mitchell would have just happened to loot a police station and get some firearms when the mall was attacked. I don't know how these bandits would have even organized anything in the month's time that the apocalypse has been going on. A group of 30+ plus people who all have guns and some armored vehicles, a chain of command, and some other bullshit that makes no sense.
RPG: As I said, it's not great. Mitchell and Soryan don't come out unscathed of course. Eventually they go on to abandon the mall, travel across the countryside to a big military staging point for a large-scale evacuation of the remaining populace on a bunch of ships, including cruise liners.
WWZ was the inspiration for that. But anyways, in the epilogue, the characters reach the good old U S of A and live happily ever after at Mitchell's grandfather's ranch.
RPG: Well, Mitchell and the Otonashi family do at least.
I never thought about Soryan or Kasumi's ending much at all, and at this point, I don't care enough to finish it, so do what you will with what you've got.
RPG: Yeah, y'all can even imagine how the journey across the States went too while you're at it. But I will say this, I have considered bringing this story back in the future. Rebooted and revamped to give it the tense, survival story it deserves. I don't know if or when it might happen, just that the idea is there. Maybe give it major WWZ and Project Zomboid vibes next time.
If and when he does, it likely won't be co-authored because I'm just not into it.
RPG: Yeah. It's something I'm gonna keep in mind if anything. I have other stories in mind at the moment. Well, now that we've said all that, I think it's time to head out. Sorry about this, y'all. Later on.
Uh-huh. This story is being put down, but I have other personal projects in mind for later.
Well, that's it. Cya.
P.S., if you read WHGS, you're not safe. It's also dead.
