Chapter Ten

Hermione stumbled out of the closet and into George who had been waiting for her.

"Did you find out what you needed to know?" He asked as he righted her.

"Yes I did. I need to go home, I need to talk to Edward. Would you ask the wolves if they can meet us at the Cullens tomorrow around noon? I can ask Esme to help me cook for them."

"Yeah, I can do that. But are you okay?"

Hermione looked up at George's worried expression and gave him a bright smile, "Everything is perfectly fine. I need to get home and talk to Edward. Just please make sure to talk to them and send me a Patronus if that doesn't work for them."

Hermione gave George a hug and before he saod anything else she turned and walked out of the closet and downstairs to Charlie and Teddy, with Geore following closely behind.

"Charlie, I'm so sorry to ask this again but would you mind watching him for a little bit longer?"

Charlie looked at her smile and smiled back at her, "I knew I was right."

Hermione blushed, "Just keep it to yourself for now. I don't need to whole town knowing before my husband knows."

"You and I both know that I'm not the gossiper in this house." He looked over her shoulder to George who had taken on an innocent look.

George gasped and placed a hand on his chest, "I am appalled by the allegations. I am an upstanding member of society and would never go so far as to gossip about someone."

Hermione raised an eyebrow at him and crossed her arms over her chest,"I mentioned once to you and only you that at one point that I had a crush on a certain person when before everything happened and I had to leave England and someone everyone knew about it before I left."

"And I'm pretty sure that you were the only one who knew about my feelings for Sue and somehow she found out and the whole town knows."

George blushed and rubbed his head while Hermione turned around and stared at him in shock, "Sue? Sue Clearwater? You like Sue Clearwater? Oh Charlie! That's so cute! You two would be perfect for one another!"

"Sue likes him back!" George chimed in from behind her while an adorable blush flared across Charlie's face.

He cleared his throat and stood from his chair, "Anyways, get home to you husband and tell him the good news. I'll make sure Mr. Can't-keep-a-secret doesn't know anything before he heads to the Clearwaters."

Hermione smiled and pulled Charlie in for a hug, "Thank you!" She let go and walked around him to her blue headed boy playing with his toys on the floor, "Hey, sweetie. Mummy has something she has to take care of so if you're okay with it then you can stay with grandpa Charlie a little bit longer."

Teddy looked up with grey eyes that shifted brown as he looked at her, "You okay?"

Hermione scooped him into her arms and blew raspberries on his stomach which caused him to squeal with laughter, "I'm so very happy right now, Teddy. Now you be good ofr grandpa Charlie a little bit longer and I'll come pick you up soon."

"Okay!" Teddy said with a smile. His smile got bigger when he saw the grinning redhead behind her. "George! Let's play!" He held up the colorful blocks that he had been playing with.

George chuckled and sat down with him, "You go do what you need to do Hermione, I'll stay here with them so they don't get too bored."

"Like that'll happen!" Charlie's said loudly from the kitchen.

Hermione smiled before leaning down and giving Teddy a kiss on the forehead, "I'll be back before it get's dark!"

Hermione grabbed her keys and ran to her car. The moment the car started, her heartbeat picked up and she had to take a moment to breath before she put it into reverse and began the drive home. She placed her hand on her stomach and tears came to her eyes as she thought about the life that was nestled inside. The life that she and Edward had created. She wished more than anything that her parents could be there with her now.

Her mom would make her a cup of tea and would want to immediately start discussing possible baby names while her dad would be reading a book and watching them both with a fond smile on his face. But she knew that they would both be proud of her, of her family.

The tears slowed as she pulled into the long driveway and took the little path to her and Edward's small home.

She took a moment to control her breathing before turning off the car and stepping outside. The brisk wind made her realize that she still had tear tracks down her face so she wiped those off before walking to the house and stepping inside.

Edward was waiting for her at the door with a nervous look on his face, "Are you okay? You sounded like you had been crying when you pulled in." He reached out for her and wiped the remaining tears from her face, "What's wrong?"

"You might want to sit down," She said as she pulled him to the couch.

"You're scaring me," Edward said as he sat next to her.

"I've been thinking on how to put my thoughts into words but I don't think just blurting it will do any good. So I need to show you something, Edward. And I need to you think hard on it before you say anything."

Edward looked a little panicked, "What's wrong? Is it Teddy? Or are you leaving me?"

Hermione just laughed and without a moments pause, she took down the barrier that surrounded her mind and showed Edward everything, from the moment she saw him to the first moment she realized how in love with him she was. Then she showed him everything from today. Being so sick and then seeing Carlisle, to everything she learned from Madam Pomfrey.

She ended it when she came back through the fireplace at Charlies and put the barrier back around her mind.

Just in case he needed conformation, she took a deep breath and said, "Edward, I'm pregnant."

He only looked at her like a deer looking a headlights, she almost giggled at the thought but tried to keep a straight face for him.

They had been sitting in silence for a few minutes now. Hermione just watched Edward as he processed everything that she had shown him, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Edward?" Hermione moved closer to him.

He looked up and Hermione thought if vampires could cry, then he would be crying. "Are you sure? It won't hurt you?"

Hermione frowned, "Our baby is not an 'It' and it will be rough but Madam Pomfrey will be here soon and will help us through it." Hermione moved to sit next to Edward and grabbed his hand, "Edward, I'm pregnant. We're going to have a baby so I need you to be okay, because I'm worried. Bellatrix is still out there and now we're going to have another child in a month!" Hermione stood and started to pace, "I need to tell Teddy and Charlie! And George, of course. Then the wolves would need to know because George would hate to keep that from Leah. And then the rest of our family needs to know and I'd need to send word to England, unless Madam Pomfrey-"

Edward grabbed her arms and pulled her into a hug. His fingers wound themselves in her hair and he held her. "I love you." He whispered.

Tears came to Hermione's eyes as she wrapped her own arms around him, "I'm scared."

He held on to her tighter and kissed the top of her head, "We'll be okay, we're going to have a baby. I didn't even know it was possible."

"I didn't either! Though I suppose it does make sense, male bodies don't change when they become vampires so they would still be able to get a human woman pregnant."

Edward kissed the top of her head again and then pulled back to look at her, "As long as you'll be okay then I'm okay with this."

Hermione shook her head, "It's going to be a hard journey, you saw what Madam Pomfrey said. But there's a chance that I will be okay. With the proper care in a month or so then we'll have another baby in the house. Teddy is going to be so thrilled to have a sibling."

Edward smiled down at her, "It's a lot to take in."

"I know it is, I wasn't prepared either. But we can do this, Edward. We'll have Carlisle here as well and I know the rest of the family will want to help. We can do this. we'll make a birth plan. I'll probably need a C-section which would mean a lot of blood so everyone will need to be well fed. No skimping on meals, got it?"

"I understand, dear." There was a moment of silence before Edward spoke again, "Should we tell them now or do you want to wait?"

Hermione thought for a moment before pulling away from Edward and sitting back down on the couch, "Can you just lay here with me for awhile? Then we'll pick up Teddy and tell him, then the family."

Edward nodded and joined her on the couch, "Whenever you're ready."

"Thank you, Edward. I was honestly expecting you to panic."

"I did for a moment," He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. "But then I just went over everything that you showed me and I'm choosing to hope for the best. I want you to be happy, Hermione."

She smiled and leaned up to kiss his chin, "I'm very happy,, Edward."

"That is all I want for you, you deserve it."

"So do you, Edward." Hermione leaned against his chest and closed her eyes, "We'll need to add another room or buy a bigger house."

"Would you like to ask Esme after we tell them the news?"

She nodded, "Esme plans such lovely houses. If she wants to then she can help us plan an expansion."

"She would love to do that. She loves to make building plans, I think she would be an architect if she could."

"Esme would be amazing."

"We'll ask her today. If we don't have long until the baby is here then we need to get started as soon as possible. We should move back to the house."

Hermione nodded, "I was thinking the same thing. It would be better if we were all together, just in case."

"You're right."

"Of course I am, I'm brilliant, remember?"

Edward laughed and kissed her head, "Yes you are, my brilliant wife."
