Summary:
Shinji attempts to feed his daughter Aki solid food for the first time.
"Feeding Time"
It was a normal day in the life of the Ikari family, well as normal as living in a possible post apocalyptic wasteland after 3rd Impact could be. Shinji, who was currently attempting to feed solid foods to his year old baby girl Aki, who was sitting on her high chair in the kitchen and looking at her papa expectantly, somewhat knowing that he was going to feed her.
"Ok Aki, here a nice bowl of yummy mashed carrots for you" Shinji said as he was scooping a teaspoon of the said substance and on route to the child's hungry mouth.
Unfortunately for Shinji, Aki didn't seem to want to cooperate as she kept stopping his attempts with her tiny hands and stubbornly turning her head to the side when the spoon managed to get past her hands, wanting to be fed her normal supply of milk from her mother's bosom instead.
Sighing but still determined, Shinji tried adopting a different tactic. "Come on Aki it's so good, look Papa likes it". Shinji trying to get the girls attention, showed her him eating a spoonful mashed carrots and pretending to greatly enjoy it.
At this time Asuka, who was currently doing the laundry, witnessed Shinji's failing attempts at feeding Aki while slightly rolling her eyes while slightly smiling.
"You know that you're supposed to be putting it in her mouth and not yours, Baka" her voice catching her husband's attention as well as her daughter's, the later who's eyes lit up upon seeing her mother and tried reaching out with her hands while giggling, maybe hoping that her mama will give her her favourite food instead.
"I know that Asuka, but Aki is definitely not making it easy" he said, sighing and turning back to Aki while silently muttering. "She definitely takes after you in the stubbornness department."
"What was that!?"
"Ah Nothing" Shinji quickly replied and once again focusing on his attempts to feed his little girl.
After a few tries Shinji managed to sneak the spoonful of food into the girl's mouth. Aki at first was confused with the strange taste but soon began to enjoy it, chewing it a few times before swallowing it down her throat. The little girl began to happily squeal in delight, making Shinji and Asuka behind him feel proud at this moment. Visibly relieved at having succeed in feeding solid food to Aki, Shinji kept up the momentum but as soon as Aki took in another mouthful an overly excited Aki ended up hitting the bowl at such an angle on her high chair that it went flying into the air.
Both Shinji and Asuka watched in what seemed like slow motion on the bowls trajectory, which sadly for Shinji ended up on his head along with the contents of food all over his face.
After a stunned silence, Asuka began to chuckle at first before it evolved into a hysterical laugh. Aki also began giggling at both her father's situation and enjoying seeing her mother laughing happily.
Slowly Shinji removed the bowl from his head which unfortunately made more of the food contents fall all over his head, face and shirt. At this point Asuka now having her fill of laughter walked over to get Shinji a washcloth and tenderly cleaned her husband's face before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.
She giggled at Shinji "Well I call this first feeding a marvellous success."

Hello everyone, first time fanfiction writer here.
I decided to start trying to write fanfiction one shots based on JimmyWolk Evangelion fanfic "The 2nd Try" as I'm a major fan of it and it's sequel comic.
Many of the future one shots chapters for this is going to explore the life and moments of the Ikari family in the post Third Impact world that wasn't shown in flashback chapters of "The 2nd Try" work.
Rest assured to many fans that I've gotten permission from JimmyWolk himself to do this and he himself is my proof/beta reader.
Lastly I'm still inexperienced in all this so please go easy on me if you find any errors and such. I will also try my best to bring you good and wholesome chapters as I continue and improve myself.
