Following Mick's departure, Sara reflects with her wife, Ava, about their eventual future.

Waverider, Central City 2021, Night

Following Mick's departure, Sara found herself sitting on the steps in the Waverider's control room. Sara found herself thinking about the future, something she didn't do very often as she preferred to focus on the present. "Sara?" The voice of her wife, Ava Sharpe, called out to her which caught her attention.

"Hey," Sara said softly.

"It's 3 am, babe." Ava reminded her wife.

"Yeah, sorry can't tonight," Sara admitted as she took a sip of her drink.

"Hmm, Mick?" Ava guessed knowing that Mick leaving the ship was especially tough on her.

"Yeah," Sara said confirming Ava's suspicions. "After he headed out, I realized I'm the last one now. Rip, Stein, and Snart are all dead. And Ray, Jax, Kendra, Carter, ... and now Mick they all left to build new lives for themselves. I'm the last of the original Legends." She noted with some sadness in her voice.

"And the best too, if you ask me," Ava commented with a smile that made Sara laugh a bit. "It must be lonely ... not having even just one of them here with you, since they were at the beginning."

"It is ... a little. But's it's not the biggest thing on my mind." Sara brought.

"What do you mean?" Ava asked.

"With everyone gone, I'm starting to wonder when will it be my turn to leave." Sara mused.

"You wanna leave the Waverider?" Ava inquired surprised by her wife's statement.

"No, no, but ... I don't know. I know said at one point that all I need to be happy is you and this ship, and I am, ridiculously happy." Sara assured her with a chuckle the two spouses shared. "But ... with everyone gone living their own lives. I don't know, maybe one day I might wanna try that." She brought up.

"Yeah, yeah, I could see that." Ava agreed. "I mean Sara, I love our life together on this ship but a part of me does wonder if we can do this forever ... or even we should."

"You see my dilemma." Sara sassed. "I'm not ready to give up being a Legend anytime soon, just so you know."

"Yeah, I'm not ready to walk away either. I know this though." Ava brought up.

"Whether we're on a time-traveling spaceship or a house with a rainbow picket fence, I know that we're you go, I go," Ava assured.

"Til death do us part right?" Sara smiled as she touched.

"Yeah, we might have to rephrase that considering how much you cheat death." Ava joked.

"Oh, good one." Sara acknowledged as her wife had with that one.

"Thank you ... it-it wasn't too grim was it?" Ava worriedly asked as she's not good with jokes.

"A little but considering the context, it was fine," Sara assured her.

"Oh good." Ava sighed in relief and then felt Sara nuzzle and kissing her neck, much to her enjoyment. "Mmm, coming back to bed soon."

"Very soon," Sara replied in a mischievous tone.

"I'll ah, give me 5 minutes," Ava said then gave her wife a light kiss as left her to go back to their room.

Finishing her drink, Sara got up and was about to join her. "Captain Lance," Gideon the ship's A.I. said.

"Yes, Gideon," Sara replied.

"I believe you are forgetting one more of the original team," Gideon replied with some computerized sass.

"Right." Sara chuckled as she remembered. "It's just you and me know Gideon."

"And hopefully, for a much longer while," Gideon said.

Author's Notes: With Dominic Purcell leaving Legends and Caity (And Gideon) being the last of the original cast, it sorta makes me wonder about Sara's future on the Legends and how it and the show might come to an end. Personally, if Ava and Sara have kids I wouldn't recommend raising them on the Waverider.
