Two weeks later, Tony walked into the bedroom to look for Bree. He carried with him the new box of pregnancy tests that had just arrived, hoping it was the last time they would need to order them. "Honey? You in here?"

Bree looked up from her laptop, sitting on the balcony, having been typing away at Tony's business emails that he was neglecting, while also chatting with Coulson. She'd been wanting to see if everyone was alright.

Tony walked out onto the balcony a minute later and sat next to Bree in the other chair. He waited patiently for her to finish her conversation.

"Coulson says hi," she said happily. "Things are tense at his work. Apparently one of the team's been kidnapped."

Tony rolled his eyes at the mentioned greeting. "Who was taken?" He asked curiously.

Bree quickly typed out the question. "Umm... Hawkeye. Apparently this Loki person used his staff to control him."

"That's unfortunate. They can handle getting him back though." Tony shrugged.

She turned and narrowed her eyes at him. "He's asking for advice."

"Has he tried asking Fury?" Tony suggested.

"Fury is rallying the rest of the team together to try and go after them," she answered.

"Good. Everything will be fine." Tony assured her.

Bree sat back in her chair, just now noticing the plastic bag that Tony had sat on the table. "Are those the tests that came in from Jarvis?" she asked.

"Yes they are. I think it's time we test again, isn't it?" Tony asked Bree.

"It's barely within the window," she smiled. "It's also better to test first thing in the morning." Bree looked at Tony and reached out to take his hand. "Excited to see?"

Tony gave Bree's hand a gentle squeeze. "Is it still too early to test? I hate the waiting and not knowing." He muttered.

"My period didn't come this month. I just wanted to wait a couple more days, but I can test a little early if you want," she replied.

"Will the test be accurate if you test early?" Tony asked curiously.

"There's a fifty-fifty chance," she answered. "If it's negative, it could be a false negative."

"I guess we will wait a few days then." Tony sighed.

"Awe, honey. I can test in the morning. If it's negative, I'll test again in three days." She got up only to sit in his lap and wrap her arms around him. "I'm excited too. I just don't want to get our hopes too high."

"No, you should wait. I don't want a negative from it being too early." Tony said, not wanting to admit how disappointed he felt each time the tests were negative.

Bree reached out and cupped Tony's cheeks. "Baby, it will happen. Sometimes it just takes time, that's all."

"That's what I keep telling you." Tony chuckled before pulling her into a kiss.

She chuckled and nipped at his bottom lip as she kissed him back. "Then heed your advice," she said softly. I'll test in the morning. Maybe we'll be surprised.

"It is literally impossible for one to take one's own advice." Tony said with a grin.

"Why?" she laughed. "It's not impossible."

"Have you ever taken your own advice?" Tony asked curiously.

Bree shrugged. "On the rare occasion, I have. Mostly about eating better."

"I've tried, but then Cheetos restore my senses." Tony chuckled.

She rolled her eyes. "I think being pregnant will ruin mine."

"That all depends on what you crave." Tony smirked.

Bree shrugged. "That's true, I guess. But I don't know of anyone that craved something healthy."

"Maybe you'll just crave me." Tony growled.

A shiver rolled down Bree's spine at the thought. "That's a possibility."

"I certainly like the idea." Tony grinned.

Bree laughed and pulled him in for a kiss. "What will you do when I'm big and round?"

"I will spoil you, dote on you, rub your feet, and love you even more." Tony said truthfully.

"You're perfect, you know that?" She murmured.

"Yeah, I know." Tony teased with a smug grin.

"Such an ego," she teased in return, kissing his cheek. "But I love you."

"For what it's worth, I wasn't always perfect. You are everything that makes us perfect." Tony said before pulling her into a proper kiss.

Bree ran her fingers through his recently cut hair as she kissed him back, brushing her tongue against his lower lip. "Not everything, lover," she whispered. "You help me every day."

"I try to help you see how incredible you are." Tony said softly.

"You're pretty incredible too you know," she countered. Bree pulled away after pecking his lips once more, then turned and closed down her laptop. "I should start on making dinner. Did you still want that pasta tonight?"

"Only if you feel up to making it." Tony answered. "Have you told May that we've officially moved?"

Bree smirked. "She's been keeping it from Pete. I figured that you would like to tell him yourself."

"I do want to, but she needs to bring him to visit... unless we go visit them?" Tony suggested, liking the idea of a surprise visit.

"Do you want to surprise him?" she asked.

"I think it could be fun." Tony said truthfully.

Bree pulled her phone from her jean pocket and handed it to Tony. "Text May and ask her if it would be okay. We can always make the pasta tomorrow."

"We don't have to do it tonight. We could have pasta tonight and go see them tomorrow." Tony suggested.

"Whatever you want to do," Bree smiled. "You can still text May and ask her. Or have Jarvis message her."

"I'll have Jarvis do it. I want to watch you cook." Tony said playfully.

Bree snorted as she walked from the balcony and into the bedroom. "Why do you like to watch me cook so much?" She turned to face him and pointed at her laptop and the bag. "Don't leave those out there please."

"I like how you sing to yourself when you think I'm not watching. It's cute." Tony answered as he grabbed the laptop and the bag. He felt slightly bad for brushing Fury off, but not enough to unblock his number.

"You're the one that has the great music on file to listen to," she giggled then turned and left the bedroom to go downstairs.

Tony set the laptop and bag down on the bed then he followed her downstairs. "What if we invite them for dinner, but I tell her to not tell Peter where they're going?"

"Tonight?" Bree asked as she made her way into the kitchen. "I don't mind, either way."

"Did you have something else in mind for tonight?" Tony asked curiously.

Bree shook her head. "Nope. I just need to know how much pasta to make," she smiled.

"Go ahead and assume they will be here. I'll have Jarvis make the arrangements." Tony told Bree.

She nodded and quickly found a large pot and filled it with water so it could be brought to a boil. "You love that little boy," she grinned.

"He's alright." Tony shrugged, not wanting to admit it.

Bree leaned against the kitchen counter and narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't worry big guy, your secret's safe with me."

Tony cracked a small grin. "Thank you." He said, not arguing it.

She smiled softly, a look of absolute love on her face. "I love you, Tony. So much."

"I love you too." Tony stepped closer and leaned in to kiss her.

"Sir, your guests will arrive in twenty minutes." Jarvis announced.

Bree let her hands roam beneath Tony's shirt, caressing along the planes of his abs. "Is the water boiling yet?" she asked softly, since Tony was now blocking her view.

"Something is starting to boil." Tony mumbled with a smirk, before looking over at the pot. "Yes, it's boiling."

"Could you add the pasta for me?" she asked, daring to tease her fingers below the waistband of his jeans. "What kind of pasta should I make? Spaghetti? Or Fettuccini?"

"Spaghetti." Tony grunted out, echoing the first option she gave as he was otherwise focused at the moment.

"If you add the pasta, I'll grab the meat from the fridge. If you hurry, we might have a little time to have a little fun before they get here," she murmured, then kissed his chin.

"You can definitely grab the meat." Tony smirked before walking over to put the noodles in the pot.

Bree rolled her eyes and walked over to the fridge to grab the ground beef then grabbed a skillet from the nearby cabinet before walking back over to the stove. "I think this meat and your meat is a bit different," she teased.

"True, but which one do you enjoy more?" Tony teasingly asked as he tended to the noodles.

"Do you even have to ask that question?" she asked in return as she turned on a burner for the skillet then put the meat in the skillet before grabbing a large flat spoon to start mashing it apart.

"Not really, but I do like hearing how incredible I am." Tony smirked.

She giggled as she stirred the beef around in the skillet before returning to her place, leaning against the counter. "I know you do."

Tony opened the cupboard and grabbed a snack size bag of cheetos and opened it. "I need to order more soon."

"Babe, we're going to be eating soon," she chastised. "If Pete sees you with those, he's going to want a bag too, you know."

"He won't see me with them." Tony promised, already nearly finished with the small bag.

She sighed and shook her head at him, watching as he finished the bag and threw it away, when an idea popped into her head. "Baby? Come here."

Tony checked the noodles then walked over to Bree. "Yes honey?"

Bree smirked at him before taking one of his hands and began to suck the Cheeto dust from his fingers.

Tony watched Bree with his mouth slightly open. "Dinner is going to burn if you keep this up."

"Sorry," she murmured, pulling away from him. "I wanted to see what you would do."

"I will have another bag after our company leaves so I can show you exactly what I'll do." Tony growled.

Bree giggled and licked her lips before she turned and tended to the food. "I would hide that weapon of yours before the doorbell rings."

"Thanks to you, I might need some help with that." Tony mumbled before walking over and stirring the noodles.

"You'll be fine," she assured. "It'll just give you more to look forward to."

"Are you sure you don't want to lend a hand?" Tony asked with a smirk as he took the pot off the burner.

"Positive," Bree chuckled as she mixed the meat around a bit more. She heard Tony begin to strain the noodles just as the doorbell rang. "Jarvis, could you let them in please?"

"Yes, Mrs. Stark." Jarvis answered. "I have given access to this floor via a telephone call to ensure the child does not know where he is."

Bree smirked. "Clever Jarvis. Thank you." She turned to see Tony putting the noodles back in the pot to be served. "Could you drain the grease from the beef for me?" She asked.

"Sure." Tony answered. He set the pot of noodles aside and walked over to get the skillet and drained the grease from the meat.

As she stirred the noodles a bit then turned to get the jar of sauce from the cabinet, Bree could hear the sounds of curious footfalls as their guests followed the smell of cooking food.

Tony eagerly glanced towards the doorway, waiting for them to come in. It only took another few moments until May led Peter into the kitchen. He watched Peter look around before finally landing his eyes on him, making him smile.

"Tony!" Peter exclaimed before running towards him.

Bree watched with a wide smile as Tony caught Peter midair and hugged him tightly to his chest. She looked over at May and laughed. "I think they've missed each other."

"They sure have. Peter asks me at least twice a day, when he'll see Tony in person again." May chuckled. She walked over and hugged Bree. "How have you been?"

"I've been good," Bree answered, tightly hugging her cousin in return. "Still unpacking. I think it's going to take us a year," she laughed.

"Tony doesn't have robots to unpack?" May joked. "Did you hear about those attacks in Germany?"

Bree nodded and glanced at Tony, who was occupied with Peter still. "I have. I'm glad The Avengers stepped in. That Loki guy looks like a real threat."

"It came on the news and Peter kept asking where Ironman was." May said softly.

"Tony says he's retired," Bree answered quietly. "I know they could use his help, but he's adamant about staying home."

"Why? That doesn't sound like him." May said, concerned.

Bree made sure Tony and Peter were thoroughly occupied before she turned and added the sauce to the meat in the skillet. "I know you might be upset with me because I haven't told you... but we've been trying to start a family," she said softly. "He's focused on being here."

"I can understand that, but he should still help with something like this, shouldn't he?" May quietly asked.

"I've tried to get him to reconsider by keeping him in the loop with what's going on. It hasn't worked yet."

"Have you tried to just tell him you think he should help? Like right to the point?" May asked curiously.

Bree nodded. "He wants to be here with me. I'm not going to force him to do something he doesn't want to do."

"What do the other Avengers think? Do they want and need his help?" May asked Bree.

"I don't really know," she answered honestly. "I haven't talked to any of them."

"None of them have said anything to him? I would think having one of their own missing would be a big deal." May shrugged.

Bree shook her head. "Not unless he's hiding it from me, no. I haven't seen anything."

"It might be worth asking Jarvis about, but I'll leave that up to you." May said not wanting to push too much.

She bit her lip in thought. Tony wouldn't do that... would he? Bree turned the burner down to low with a sigh. "Do either you or Pete want breadsticks?"

"If you already have them, sure. But you don't need to go through any extra trouble for us." May told Bree.

Bree looked at Tony and grinned. "Honey? Do you want to fix breadsticks?" She asked. "It's up to you."

"Sure. They only take a few minutes." Tony answered. He walked over to the freezer and grabbed the pack of bread sticks out. "Should I make the full pack? It's ten if I do."

"Between you and Pete, the full pack wouldn't be a bad idea," Bree smiled.

"Coming right up." Tony replied. "Hey kid, wanna help me?" He asked Peter.

Peter smiled happily. "Sure! What do I need to do Uncle Tony?"

Tony smiled brightly and took out a baking sheet. "Line them up on the sheet." He answered as he reached over to set the temperature on the oven.

"With or without foil?" Peter asked. "Aunt May always uses foil."

"Foil it is then." Tony chuckled. He reached into a nearby drawer and pulled out the foil for Peter.

Peter giggled, watching as Tony tore off a piece and lined the baking sheet before he put it on the counter for him. He opened the package and lined up the frozen breadsticks on the sheet. "All done!"

"I'll get them into the oven." Tony said as he picked up the baking sheet. He quickly opened the oven and slid the sheet into it, then closed it again. "They will be ready in six minutes."

"Cool!" Peter laughed, then turned and ran into the living room, wanting to look around the house.

Bree walked up to Tony and leaned up to kiss his cheek. "You're a natural," she murmured.

"Natural what? Natural at being sexy?" Tony asked with a grin.

She narrowed her eyes at him, knowing he wasn't that daft. "Tony Stark, don't play dumb with me."

"Why not? I'm cute when I play dumb." Tony chuckled.

"You're such a dork." She shook her head at him then swatted at his back. "Everything is done besides the breadsticks."

"Do we have salad fixings?" Tony asked curiously.

"I'll check. Peter will be back to bug you any minute." May chuckled.

Bree chuckled. "Check the middle drawer of the fridge," she suggested, now leaning against the kitchen counter, keeping an eye on the spaghetti meat.

"Found it." May told Bree. She pulled out lettuce and cherry tomatoes to make a simple side salad. When the oven beeped, Tony turned it off and took the bread sticks out.

Bree gathered plates from a nearby cabinet and walked over to the dining room table to set everything out for them. "The table is set everyone," she called gently.

Tony walked into the dining room with the pot of noodles, just as Peter ran in. "I think we pulled this together nicely." He said as he set it on the table. "I'll be right back with the meat sauce."

"I know that everything smells amazing, that's for sure," Bree commented as she began making Peter's plate for him.

Tony waited until the ladies had their food, then he made his plate. "How long can you stay tonight?" He asked May.

"Pete has school in the morning, so not too late," May answered. "But I'd say at least nine."

"Can you bring him over after school tomorrow? I think he'd like to see the new lab. Maybe even help me set up more of it." Tony told May.

May grinned. "Tomorrow is Friday, so I think that would be alright."

Peter danced in his seat. "Awesome!"

"Good, maybe he can stay the weekend?" Tony asked hopefully.

May's eyes widened slightly. "You... really?"

"Of course. You're welcome to stay as well. I don't like the idea of Bree being alone while we work in the lab." Tony added.

"Oh... um, sure. I don't mind," May agreed. "It'll be a fun weekend."

"I think a spa day sounds necessary. I need to make sure Bree is still properly spoiled and pampered." Tony said with a grin.

Bree chuckled and reached over to pat his hand. "You spoil me every day."

"I certainly try to. So whatever you want, shopping, spa day, just name it." Tony said, being completely serious.

"I'll let you know," she assured him before reaching for her tea and taking a long drink.

"I know you will. I want you to have a nice time." Tony said truthfully.

Bree smiled at him then finished off the food on her plate. "Looks like we'll have leftovers."

"It will be good for tomorrow." Tony said, then finished his plate as well.

"I agree," Bree nodded. "Just have to put it all away and clean up."

"I can do that. Don't worry about it." May told Bree.

Bree shook her head. "May, you're our guest. I couldn't ask you to clean up." She stood and began gathering plates and stacking them to take to the dishwasher. "I won't deny your help though."

"I can live with that." May chuckled. She stood and stacked the pan with the sauce on top of the noodle pot to carry them into the kitchen.

"There's tupperware in the cabinet next to the sink," Bree commented as she made it to the dishwasher and began loading it.

May found the bowls she needed and transferred the sauce and noodles into them. After securing the lids, she put them into the fridge. "How are you liking the new place?"

"It's roomier," Bree answered. "Tony is happy to have a bigger lab to work in. Separate from the garage this time."

"That's nice, but I asked about you, not Tony." May pointed out.

Bree laughed. "I'm fine. I miss the smell of the beach and the warmer weather, but I'm adjusting."

"I'm sure he'll take you on beach trips." May grinned.

"All I would have to do is say the words," Bree nodded. "He's good like that."

"Is he still meeting your emotional needs?" May asked curiously.

Bree leaned against the counter after she started the dishwasher, knowing that it would drown out their conversation a bit while Tony and Pete played in the living room. "What do you mean?"

"I mean is he paying attention to you, spending time with you, and so on. Spending money on you is great, but that alone isn't enough." May explained.

"Oh, yes of course. We do our best to have a real dinner most nights. He likes watching me cook," she answered.

"That's good. I just want to make sure you're always alright." May said out of genuine affection.

Bree nodded. "I know you do. Tony used to be crass and hard to handle, but since we've really begun this relationship and he decided to put his heart into it, he's turned into the most loving person I've ever met."

"I'm glad to hear it. You deserve the best and so much more." May said with a smile.

"You know, you do too," she replied. "It's not easy raising him alone."

"No it's not, but we make it work. He's a good kid." May said proudly.

Bree smiled and turned to watch Tony and Peter. "Yes, he is. I'm proud to call him my cousin."

"He loves you and Tony so much." May told Bree. "He's asked about you both non-stop since the wedding."

"Awe. We love him too. Tony is head over heels for him." Bree smiled and rested her hands on her waist. "It's actually because of Peter that Tony decided to start a family."

"Well, I'm honored that my little boy could help." May chuckled.

The following morning Bree rolled over and faced the windows as she woke up. The sun was peeking through other buildings around them, and it made her smile at the beautiful view.

Tony rolled over in his sleep and wrapped his arm around Bree, trying to pull her closer to him.

She placed her hand on his arm, slowly caressing him, watching as the sun continued to rise. Just the weight of him next to her made her feel more relaxed.

Tony slowly started to wake and moved closer to nuzzle his face into her neck. "Good morning, beautiful." He mumbled.

Bree grinned, reaching behind herself to wind her hand into his messy hair. "Good morning to you," she murmured in return. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did. I was dreaming about how you licked the Cheetos dust from my fingers." Tony admitted.

She turned to face him with a laugh before pulling her to him for a slow, lingering kiss. "I can do that anytime, with or without Cheetos."

"I think both are good options." Tony grinned. "I like to always have Cheetos around though."

"You're such a dork." Bree brushed her lips against his once more. "But I love you."

"I love you too and I'm glad I have you. No one has ever put up with my bullshit like you do." Tony grinned. He reached up and cupped her cheek. "You are so beautiful."

A soft blush filled Bree's cheeks as she leaned into his touch. "I wouldn't have it any other way either."

"Do you want me to make you breakfast in bed?" Tony offered.

"That's tempting," she grinned. "What would you fix?"

"What would you want?" Tony asked with a cute grin.

Bree pondered for a moment. "Could you make waffles? With strawberries and whipped cream?"

"Of course. But to clarify, do you want the whip cream on the waffles?" Tony asked with a smirk.

"Always," she answered, a bright smile on her face.

"I'll be back shortly. You relax and work on being stunningly gorgeous." Tony said before leaning in for a quick kiss. He then got out of bed and left the room.

Bree laid there for a few moments before she stood and stretched. "Jarvis? Is Tony completely occupied?"

"He is humming while cooking, so I would say so." Jarvis answered.

"Thank you, Jarvis." Bree smiled to herself as she walked into the bathroom and opened the box of tests before taking one while doing her morning routine. She left the test on the bathroom counter as she walked into the bedroom again to open the glass door, letting some fresh air inside.

"Mr. Stark is nearly finished making breakfast." Jarvis told Emily, keeping her updated.

"That was fast." She turned towards the bedroom door. "How long is left on the test Jarvis?"

"Two minutes is the earliest until the test can be read. I would say there is six minutes until Mr. Stark is on his way back."

Bree nodded and sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm nervous Jarvis."

"How can I help?" Jarvis asked Bree.

She ran her hands through her hair and sighed. "I don't really know."

"It is nearly time to check the test."

Bree took a steadying breath and stood before walking into the bathroom. She stared at the small test that sat on the counter, afraid to look at it.

"Tracking your cycles and testing for ovulation greatly increases your chances of conception." Jarvis told Bree, trying to be encouraging in his own way.

She nodded even though she knew Jarvis couldn't see her. After taking a deep breath, Bree stepped forward and looked down at the test. One blue line stared back at her but there was a second faint line, making her eyes widen. "Oh!"

"Is all well, Mrs. Stark?" Jarvis asked Emily.

Bree grinned as she picked up the test with a shaky hand. "More than okay... umm... could you double check this test for me? Are you able to scan it?"

"Yes, but I can't in the bathroom. Bring it into the bedroom or take a photo with your phone." Jarvis told Bree.

She silently went back into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed. Tony would be coming back any minute. "Scan it now, Jarvis."

"It looks to be accurate, but the next step is to have a blood test done. I can process the blood sample, if you do not wish to go elsewhere." Jarvis replied.

"H-how would I give it to you?" she asked softly.

"Mr. Stark can take the sample." Jarvis answered. When he went quiet, Tony's footsteps could be heard coming down the hall.

Bree quickly hid the test under her leg and looked up at Tony just as he walked into the room with a tray full of food. "That smells good."

"I couldn't decide, so I made mini waffles. They have strawberry, blueberry, or white chocolate chips." Tony said as he set the tray down.

She laughed. "Red, white, and blue waffles. I'll love all of it, I'm sure."

Tony sat on the edge of the bed next to Emily and handed her an empty plate so she could select the waffles she wanted. "I didn't forget." He said, handing her the can of whipped cream.

"You're so sweet," she said softly as she discreetly picked up the test and traded the test for the can of whipped cream before she pushed on the top of the can, eating some of it.

Tony looked down at the test she had placed in his hand. He just stared at it for a moment while his brain processed what he was seeing. Without warning, he turned and picked her up, pulling her onto his lap and into a loving kiss.

Bree squealed and kissed Tony back, her hands instantly in his hair. "I take it you're excited?" she asked, letting him run his lips along her neck.

"What gave me away?" Tony chuckled. "I can't believe it's finally happened!"

"Me either," she laughed. "But I think we should do a blood test to be sure. The line is pretty faint."

"Could that be because you said it's a bit early to test?" Tony asked, trying to not worry. "Jarvis can analyze a blood sample."

"It just means it picked up the hormone, that's all. I'd get a test if the line was bold or faint," she answered, then pecked his lips. "How do you feel baby?"

"Let's get down to the lab then. I need to know." Tony said truthfully.

"I'm going to have to reheat my breakfast, aren't I?" she chuckled, feeling as Tony stood, keeping her wrapped around him.

"Yes, but I think this has enough importance." Tony grinned, then carried her from the room and downstairs to the lab. Once inside the lab, Tony finally let her down. "Make yourself comfortable and ignore the mess."

Bree smirked and rolled her eyes as she sat in the nearest office chair. "I thought having more room would make you more organized."

"It will. I've had very little time down here though, from working on other areas." Tony explained as he looked through a few boxes until he found a needle and vial for the blood sample.

She watched him with a grimace. "I hate needles. I like tattoos... hate needles."

"It will be quick, I promise." Tony told Bree. "What do you think? Boy or girl?" He asked to distract her.

Bree shrugged as she quickly averted her gaze to stare at the black tiled floor. "I don't know," she said softly. "I would be happy with either."

"Do you have any preference at all?" Tony asked her, quickly taking the sample. "All done." He said before walking over to one of his machines and putting the sample in it.

She rubbed her arm, surprised that the pain was minimal. "Not really. I like the idea of having both."

"Is that a hint?" Tony asked with a grin.

"I have analyzed the sample. Hormone levels are consistent with early pregnancy." Jarvis announced.

Bree looked over at Tony, tears welling in her eyes. "We're going to have a baby."

Tony walked over and picked Bree right up off the chair and into his arms. "Yes we are." He said before kissing her deeply.

She returned his kiss, holding him tightly. "I can't believe it." Tears began to fall down her cheeks. "We're actually doing this."

"Yes we are." Tony said, kissing her again. "I love you so much."

"I love you too," she whispered. "More than anything."
