All eyes turned towards the stairs as the opening bars of Canon In D by Pachelbel started to play. At the top of the stairs stood Rory on Chris's arm. As Rory looked at the congregation gathered below them she had a sudden flashback to her debutante ball and smirked.

"Do me a favour?"

"Just don't let me fall."

"Right back at ya."

With that moment of reminiscing over, Rory and Chris started down the stairs and down the aisle towards the people gathered there. As soon as Rory's feet hit the floor after the stairs and she felt she was safe from falling, she looked up and her eyes automatically connected with Finn's at the other end of the aisle like magnets. She couldn't have looked away if she wanted to, she watched as his eyes lit up at the sight of her, and he mouthed 'I love you' as a beaming smile lit up his face.

As soon as Rory appeared at the top of the stairs it was as though everyone else in the building disappeared for Finn. His eyes took in her ivory dress, which will modest highlighted her figure, the small train flowing gently down the marble stairs behind her, he was a little surprised to see that she had forgone a veil, but the dress, train and ruby red rose bouquet were already an overwhelming assault on his senses. Once Rory hit level ground, his eyes were automatically drawn to hers, and he couldn't resist mouthing 'I love you,' as he felt his eyes start to water. He wasn't sure he would make it through the ceremony without crying, which would mean owing Tristan a thousand dollars.

Once Chris and Rory reached the top of the aisle, Chris leaned over and gave her a tender kiss on the cheek.

"I love you kid."

"I love you too Dad."

Chris firmly shook Finn's hand, saying "Take care of her," as he placed Rory's hand in Finn's.

"Always," Finn responded to Chris, he eye's never leaving Rory's.

"You look breathtaking," Finn whispered.

"I love you," Rory whispered back, as the officiant subtly cleared their throat to capture their attention.

Before they were even aware of anytime passing it was time for the vows.

"Lorelai and Finnegan have chosen to write their own vows for the occasion. Lorelai, would you like to go first?"

"Finn, I love quote Kiersten White, 'I didn't fall in love with you. I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny, but I also believe we are fated to do the things that we'd choose anyway. And I'd choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I'd find you and I'd choose you.' Finn, I vow to you that I will continue to choose you, in life, in love. I see these vows not as promises but as privileges: I get to laugh with you and cry with you, care for you and share with you. I get to run with you and walk with you, build with you, and live with you." Rory squeezed Finn's hand tight as she finished and noticed that his eyes were just as watery as hers.

"Rory, I love you. I was going to quote from the Princess Bride but I decided that seeing as he lives here. to quote a different literary masterpiece Winnie the Pooh. 'As soon as I saw you, I knew a grand adventure was about to begin.' Pooh was right. Since I met you we have been on a winding and grand adventure. Rory, because of you, I laugh, I smile, and I dare to dream more than I ever have. Thank you for the miracle of you. You are, and always will be, the love of my life, my soulmate, my person. No matter where we are, I feel at home because you are with me. I promise to be a home for your heart as well." By the time Finn finished, they both had silent tears running down their cheeks. Finn moved to wipe Rory's cheek with his thumb gently.

"Now it is time to exchange the rings." There was a gentle shuffle as Colin passed the rings forward to the officiant.

"Finn, I give you this ring as a reminder that we face this world together. We're an unbreakable team." Rory slid the platinum band onto Finn's finger, without breaking eye contact.

"Rory, with this ring, we forge a new path on our adventure together. I love you, always, as my best friend." Finn slid the platinum and diamond band onto Rory's ring finger, raising her hand to his mouth and giving it a gentle kiss.

"Lorelai and Finnegan, your marriage begins with the vows and promises you spoke to one another today. The marriage vow is a promise of fidelity and honesty.

Lorelai Leigh Gilmore-Hayden, do you take this man, Finnegan Thomas Morgan, as your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do." Rory resolutely spoke, squeezing Finn's hand tightly.

"Finnegan Thomas Morgan, do you take this woman, Lorelai Leigh Gilmore-Hayden, as your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do." Finn's wide smile said everything about how happy he was about the vows they were making.

"By the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!"

Rory flashed Finn a radiant smile, which he returned with a playful smirk before tugging her closer, and pulling her into his embrace for a tender, barely society, appropriate kiss.

"I love you," Finn whispered as he released her.

"I love you too," Rory whispered, giving him a final glancing kiss, before they turned to face the congregation, who were all now standing and clapping for the couple.

Finn quickly gave Rory another kiss on the cheek, simply because he couldn't resist, before they walked back down the aisle together to the theme song from "UP" which neither Emily or Francine had any idea was a disney song, they had just agreed that the instrumental was lovely.

The couple and the bridal party were quickly led by the photographer to Bryant park, Finn had without Rory's knowledge arranged for some of the wedding pictures to be taken on the carousel there. Once they reached their destination and she realised what was going on, she quickly spun around and grabbed her new husband in another tight hug.

"Finn, I do believe you might just be perfect."

"Only for you, always for you."

The photographer managed to swiftly capture all the pictures they had wanted at the carousel, some of the couple looking at each other tenderly while Rory was side saddle on a horse, some of the couple fake racing each other side by side on horses, and various silly ones featuring the full bridal party hanging off various carousel animals.

The rest of the bridal party were then dismissed to go and enjoy the cocktail hour, while the photographer took Finn and Rory on a whirlwind tour of the library, they took pictures in quiet corridors, dusty archives, between classics, in stairwells and archwells. They even made sure to take a picture in the children's library beside the original Winnie the Pooh, which had been unplanned but once the photographer heard Finn's vow's it became an essential picture.

"Finally, I didn't think that she was ever going to release us," Rory said, as soon as the photographer said she was finished apart from the candid pictures she would try to capture for the rest of the day and into the evening.

"Rory," Finn whispered, getting her attention.

"Yes Finn?"

"Mrs Morgan?"

"Mr Morgan." Rory pulled Finn towards her, "I love you Mr Morgan, this tux and ring combo is definitely a new level of hotness for you."

"I love you too Mrs Morgan. This dress, Rory, it's spectacular. Colin thought he was going to have to pick me up from the floor when you walked out. And that was before I saw the back, how did you get such a sexy dress past Emily?" Finn said as his fingers traced up and down the open expanse of skin on her back.

"I'm not sure how, but she agreed to it with no arguments at all. Do you really like it?" Rory asked biting her lip, she had been nervous about what he would think of the dress for months.

"I really love it," Finn said, tilting her face towards his for a deep kiss, "I just need a few inappropriate kisses, to tide me over until tonight." he whispered.

"Mr and Mrs Morgan, it is time for your entrance to be announced." The event coordinator interrupted them.

"So close," Rory giggled, as Finn rolled his eyes and sighed.

"And it is with great pleasure that I announce Mr and Mrs Morgan!"

Finn led Rory to the centre of the dance floor, where they had a surprise planned for everyone. It was well known that Rory was not the best dancer so they had been taking lessons. The couple proceeded to shock all their friends and family by doing a fully choreographed dance to "And I love her," by The Beatles. By the time Finn dipped Rory with a kiss at the end, the rest of the room were on their feet cheering.

They took their seat at the centre of the long table filled with the bridal party and both quickly surveyed the room with their friends and family. The library looked exactly like Rory had imagined a cross between one of the Hogwarts feasts and the Yale library.

Her musings were soon interrupted by the sound of a knife against a champagne glass, Finn groaned as he watched Colin stand up.

"Now as most of you know I am Colin McRae and I am the best man. I first met Finn back when we were twelve at boarding school, and I have been trying to shake him off since then. We have been on numerous adventures over the years, some harmless, some illegal but always having each other's back. Now as some of you may know, I also got married earlier this year so Finn hopefully we can help each other navigate through finding out how to be good husbands together as well, or else Stephanie and Rory will work together to end us."

At this all the guests at the reception laughed as most knew what the foursome were like and therefore how true that statement could be.

"Now at the start of last summer, Finn came home from having been in Europe for a few weeks, and my curiosity was piqued the second he said that he had gone sightseeing while he was there, next thing I know he mentioned a girlfriend. By this point I had known Finn, what fifteen years? And he has never had a girlfriend so I knew this girl must be special. Now while we were also at this dinner I was complaining about how one Leigh Hayden had become the bane of my existence, winning cases and earning praise from my father. I never actually asked, Finn and Rory how much did you laugh over me that night?"

Finn and Rory both looked at each other before laughing and admitting "A LOT"

"A month later Finn reintroduced me to Reporter girl here, and I was shocked to watch the two of them interact. The love between them was palpable. It quickly became obvious how serious a relationship it had become. Rory, thank you for taking Finn off our hands, he is now your responsibility. I wish you both all the luck in the world in your future, but I don't think that you will need it. To Finn and Rory and a lifetime of love!" Colin raised his glass in a toast before sitting down.

As Colin sat down Rory took the opportunity to shout over to him, "Colin do you know what else it means now that I married him?"

"I can't testify against him in court or represent him. So you are stuck with him." At this the rest of the room burst into laughter.

"I'm offended Kitten," Finn said, giving her puppy dog eyes.

"It's okay, I also love you lots." Rory leaned over and gave him a kiss.

The speeches continued before the meal started, Lorelai gave a speech instead of Chris or Luke, Lane gave a speech but avoided embarrassing Rory the way that Rory embarrassed her years earlier at her own wedding.

While the speeches were all going on Logan was sitting beside Summer, Honor and Josh, observing and making occasional bitter remarks. He had been drinking a steady flow of scotch the whole day.

"I still can't believe Finn didn't have me in the wedding party, we have been best friends for over fifteen years!"

"Logan, he just married your ex, who you proposed to, you can't have seriously expected him to ask you to stand beside him for that?" Honor replied incredulously, while Summer rolled her eyes behind Logan's head.

"I would have sucked it up to be there for my friend." Logan said earnestly.

At this Summer openly scoffed. "Seriously?

"Yes Seriously."

"Logan, you refused to be civil to him for months after you found out about them, you abandoned him in Las Vegas, you even fought with him at his bachelor party. Where in those nine months were you supportive of your best friend?"

"Summer, you are my wife, you are supposed to be on my side."

"Well Logan, I guess I just have been following your example that mariage doesn't always come with blind loyalty." Summer said, before getting up and marching off.

"What was that?" Logan asked Honor.

"That I believe, my dear brother, is your wife finally growing a backbone and getting sick of your shit."

Logan looked after his wife, wondering if she knew that he hadn't kept to his promise, before quickly dismissing that thought as he had been covering his tracks too carefully, or so he thought.

"Logan I'm going to repeat what I think your friends have been telling you for months. I watched Finn and Rory today. Neither of them have noticed anything going on all day apart except for each other, they both stood up and included literary references in their vows, without knowing what the other was going to say. I know I don't know either of them as well as you but I have known them both for almost a decade. When they are around each other, they glow, the love radiates off them. You never looked at Rory or even Summer, the way Finn looks at her, and to be honest she never looked at you with even half as much love as she is looking at him right now. If you keep acting like a scorned lover you will lose your friends and your wife. You are turning into a Mitchum Jnr." Honor stood up and went to go and check up on Summer.

Once dinner and speeches were over Rory and Finn had to mingle and make small talk as they worked the crowd, accepting best wishes and congratulations from friends, family and business associates. As much as neither enjoyed it, they did know that they had to be civil to the business contacts that they had been forced to invite, but they did rely on each other to steer the conversations and ensure no one tried to make them do any actual business today.

While they were talking with Andrew McRae and wife number seven, Finn heard the opening bars of 'Your my best friend.'

"I'm sorry Andrew, I do believe it is time for me to go and dance with my wife."

"Finn, we can't be rude," Rory protested gently, without much enthusiasm.

"It's okay, you go and dance. Take a break from mingling for a while," Andrew encouraged them while pushing them over to the dance floor.

Finn pulled Rory into his arms, as she spoke. "I thought we were never going to get away."

"I know Mrs Morgan, but most of the elders and business contacts are starting to leave, so I think we might be able to finally relax and enjoy ourselves now."

"You haven't been having fun?" Rory asked with an only half fake pout.

"I have, but not as much as we could have been having," Finn said with a wink.

"Well I think that kind of fun might have to wait until we get back to the room, Mr Morgan."

"You think Mrs Morgan."

"I know. Plus Mr Morgan, it is my first time, you have to promise to be gentle with me," Rory looked up at him through her lashes.

"Fuck, Mrs Morgan, you are such a tease, its a good thing I love you." He pulled her tightly to him and leaned down to press a passionate kiss to her lips.

Soon Finn and Rory were joined on the dance floor, by all their friends, both in the wedding party and not, some from work, some from the LDB.

"Finn, we are really lucky, look how many people we have who love us," Rory whispered shyly.

"You're right, we really are lucky."

While Finn and Rory were marveling over how lucky they were, Logan was drowning his sorrows in the corner, most of his friends had taken a glance at him before deciding to avoid him for the night, they all knew he was on the edge. Colin and Robert decided it was worth a try to at least see if they could get him to either eat something and sober up a bit or to go home before he could cause a scene. Colin decided to give Honor a heads up before they spoke to him.

"Honor, we are going to see if we can persuade Logan to eat something to sober up, or try and get him to head home, if he agrees to go home can you and Josh arrange it with Summer? I can't find her to ask."

"Summer left. Logan was being an ass earlier, and she decided to leave so she wouldn't have to deal with whatever he does next." Honor said, sympathy for her sister-in-law obvious in her tone.

"Damnit Logan. Okay we will see what we can do." Colin said, as Robert and him turned to walk in Logan's direction.

"Hey man, how's it going?" Robert opened.

"Cut the crap, what do you want?" Logan slurred.

"We want you to come and eat some food." Colin answered.

"I want to sit here and drown my sorrows. I still don't know how I ended up here. Where did I go wrong?"

"Logan, we have all told you repeatedly what you are doing wrong, you have only yourself to blame for how this all ended. If you just want to have a pity party, then come on. I will get you set up with a room, and you can have a private pity party, but I refuse to allow you to sit here and become a spectacle. Not for your sake, but for the sake of Finn, Rory and, you know, your wife, Summer. She doesn't need to hear all about how her husband was drowning his sorrows at his ex's wedding."

Logan looked around for the first time and realised how many people were giving him sidelong glances and pretending not to stare. He sighed, before defeatedly giving in, as Robert signalled to Josh.

"Logan has agreed to go get a hotel somewhere, and either continue the pity party privately, or sleep it off. Will you two be able to handle him?" Robert asked.

"Yes, go dance, have fun. We will look after him." Josh asserted.

"Logan I'll call you tomorrow," Colin said before leaving to go join his wife on the dance floor.

"For the final two dances the bride and groom have left it up to their bridal party to pick their final songs. They may regret this decision. Now first up is the girl's choice," said the DJ as the opening bars of "Wannabe" started.

"Oh My God!" Rory groaned, while Finn giggled.

"Come on, Kitten. It's funny. 'If you wannabe my lover, got to get with my friends,'" he sang along. Their bridal party circled around them as they all did cheesy dance movies to the nineties number.

Even though Rory had groaned at the idea of the song, you could tell by the size of the smile on her face she hadn't meant it. She was curious how Stephanie had managed to get Lane to agree to a Spice Girls song. That would be good information to store away.

The photographer had ended up staying and was glad because the pictures of the Groom and best man, singing 'Slam your body down and wind it all around,' were priceless. Neither of them had any inhibitions at all.

"Next up is the Boy's choice. They were definitely thinking of the wedding night when they picked this song." Daft punk Get Lucky started to play.

Rory and Finn both openly broke out in laughter at the choice. They were glad that only their close friends were left by this point. The group were all closely dancing together, giggling and having mini dance off's.

Before they knew it the group were all walking arm and arm, escorting the newly married couple to the front of the library where there was a limo waiting to drive them back to the Plaza for their first night as newlyweds. Numerous hugs and kisses were exchanged on those stairs before Finn and Rory slid into the limo.

"Yes, Mrs Morgan?"

"We have the best friends."

"Yes, yes we do," Finn agreed looking through the tinted window at the group gathered on the stone steps.

"I love you Mr Morgan." Rory said, while tugging him even closer in the car.

"I love you too Mrs Morgan. This is the first time I've got you properly alone all day." Finn said, leaning over and giving her a deep kiss.

"Let's get back to the hotel, I want to spend the first night of the rest of my life with my wife," Finn whispered, rubbing his thumb over her cheek.

"Sounds like a plan Mr Morgan. Sounds like a plan."
