"And…posted." Weiss breathed out a sigh of relief as the app informed her that her latest post had gone through, now showing up on her profile. It took a moment for the picture to load in ("Stupid school wireless network…!"), showing the heiress in yet another carefully chosen pose in another carefully chosen outfit.
Before actually coming to Beacon Academy Weiss hadn't really considered herself much of a social media user: that was always something more for the common masses. But, mostly at her teammates' insistence, she'd made an account and had given it a fair chance. It was mostly people's unfiltered thoughts wrought with spelling errors- not surprise there- and also plenty of candid yet clearly staged photos of reasonably attractive people.
These seemed to get the most attention.
She'd tried sharing a few photos of herself on her account, all carefully staged to hide her face from view, and the response was almost immediate; her pictures got more interactions than the other posts she'd made, with comments (and some critiques, to put it nicely) regularly filling her notifications inbox. The number of followers also skyrocketed, quickly reaching quadruple-digit figures before a week had passed and still climbing by the day.
Satisfied with her work, she set her Scroll down and went about finishing her morning routine. For obvious reasons she hadn't told the rest of her team about this, so the only times she could take these photos were went she had the Team's bathroom to herself, and there were only two times when that was: in the evening when she was taking a shower, and in the morning when they were getting ready for classes.
Even then, there were complications...
BANG BANG BANG!
"Weiss, come on, hurry up in there!" Ruby called from outside, "I really need to go to the bathroom…!"
"I'm sure you can hold it in for another minute," she called back. She buttoned her long-sleeved t-shirt back up, having undone the top few buttons to tastefully show off her neck and clavicle, before grabbing her blazer. "You should have taken care of that when you were in here before."
"But I didn't need to go then!"
"Did you even try?"
"Weiss, just hurry up already!" Yang added her voice to the mix. "I didn't even take as long as you are, and you've seen my hair!"
"We're probably going to be late if you take much longer," Blake pointed out.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" She hurriedly smoothed out her school uniform, checking herself in the mirror once more to make sure nothing was out of place. Satisfied, she opened the door and stepped back into the room, a red blur zooming past her and slamming the door shut once she was clear. "Happy now?" she asked her remaining two teammates.
"Sure," Blake shrugged.
"Not really," said Yang, folding her arms. "What the heck were you doing in there that took so long?"
"That's none of your business, Yang. Why do you take so long in there, hmm?"
"Um, firstly-" She gestured to her voluminous mane of blonde hair. "And second, I'm not the one making us late for class right now!"
"It starts in ten minutes," Blake nodded to the clock that hung about the door.
"We can make it; we've done it before."
The sound of a toilet flushing preempted further discussion, Ruby bursting through the door triumphantly.
"Done! Oh, Weiss-" She tossed a small bundle of cloth the Heiress's way. "-you forgot your socks."
Dammit! She was so busy fixing the rest of her outfit that she forgot to put her socks back on! Thankfully, none of the other girls seemed to remember that little fact as she caught the socks.
"Thanks. Just give me a minute to-"
"We don't have a minute anymore!" Yang grabbed the back of Weiss's collar, dragging the heiress behind her as she ran down the hallway. (Ruby and Blake following close behind.)
"Wait, didn't you already-?"
"Not now, Blake!"

The rest of the day passed without any outstanding incidents (though Team CRDL would probably be nursing those vicious burns for a while). Keeping that morning in mind, Weiss elected to wait on doing her next photo set until the other had fallen asleep. She had something particularly special in mind for this one, and she didn't want to risk tipping her hand about this to the others. Setting an alarm was out of the question since it would potentially wake her friends up as well, so her only other option was to stay up until she was sure everyone else was asleep.
There was just one problem with that approach…
So…booooooooooooooooored! she silently bemoaned, laying in her bunk as the hours ticked by. The sound of her Teammates' nighttime rhythms had been interesting to listen to for a little while- Ruby had a cute, baby-like snore, Yang's snoring was like a dull saw cutting through hardwood, and Blake's breathing was practically imperceptible- but after 20 minutes she was ready to bash her head in with one of Blake's dirty books they all knew she had.
In anticipation of this escapade, she'd worn most of her special outfit underneath her nightgown, though she had to hide a few components in the bathroom since her gown stopped mid-thigh.
Also, it wasn't the most comfortable material in the world…
Next time, I'm just storing the whole ensemble in the bathroom; if I don't have a chaffing rash by tomorrow morning it will be a miracle…
Eventually, the metaphorical Witching Hour approached and Weiss carefully slipped out of her bed and tiptoed over to the bathroom, gingerly closing the door after her and reaching a sigh of relief as she locked it.
Her makeshift studio secured, Weiss set about retrieving the final pieces of her outfit from where she stashed it- behind the toilet, in several plastic bags.
Weiss then pulled off her nightgown, revealing her lacey lingerie in the dim, artificial light. She unwrapped the package, a pair of sheer stockings with matching lace on the hem, and sat down on the toilet seat in order to put them on, linking up the clasps on her garter belt.
Her outfit finally set, she stood up and picked up her Scroll from where she set it on the sink, opening the camera app as she faced the full-length mirror that hung on the back of the door. (Her own contribution.)
The trick was angling her Scroll to get a flattering angle for her photos without revealing her face, something that had taken a few tries before she was confident enough to share her work.
"OK, what pose should I go with this time…?"
"Why don't you try mussing your hair a bit?"
"Oh yeah...that's actually a good idea-"
She spun around, yanking the shower curtain aside while using her other arm to (somewhat ineffectually) cover her chest. She didn't cry out, a habit from doing this for some time now, although the look of shock was harder to suppress as her eyes locked onto Blake's.
"You're up pretty late, Ice Queen," Blake said with a bit of mirth in her voice and a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "I guess this explains why you took so long getting ready this morning."
Weiss couldn't quite find the words to encapsulate her emotions at being found out like this.
"…h-how long have you been in here?" she demanded shakily. "I thought you were asleep out there!"
"About an hour; you know Yang and Ruby fall asleep after about a half-hour, right? Also, that was one of my Semblance clones." The dark-haired Faunus had been leaning against the linoleum tiled wall of the shower stall, but now stepped back out onto the floor. "You know you're not as subtle about hiding this as you think you are."
That was a statement, not a question.
Weiss sighed; any excuses she tried to make now would just fall flat. "…how long have you known about this?"
"Beyond the shadow of a doubt? When you came in here tonight," she answered. "But I suspected about a month after you made your Grimmstagram account. It doesn't take much to deduce who was running 'SnoWhite'."
"In my defense with that, Ruby was still badgering me to 'friend' her once I made the account at the time."
"Plus, you're starting to rival Yang with how long you take in the bathroom nowadays, and you're constantly checking your Scroll when you think no one's looking."
"Alright, you've made your poi-"
"And this wasn't the first time you forgot a piece of clothing like today."
"You've made your point, Blake…!" She sighed again. "Alright, what do you want?"
"…I'm sorry?"
"What do I have to do for you to keep this a secret from the others?"
"Oh, nothing."
Weiss blinked.
Loudly.
"…what do you mean, 'nothing'?"
"I mean 'nothing'; this is your thing, and if you don't want to tell Yang and Ruby about this, that's for you to decide. I'm fine keeping this a secret."
A dying fish gaped less than Weiss was doing after this revelation.
"But…why?"
Blake tapped the side of her nose. "Let's just say that I'm used to keeping secrets already.~"
The bow on her head seemed to twitch slightly when she said this.
"By the way, I mean what I said about mussing your hair; about half the models you see in ads have their hair tastefully askew."
"You're sure about that?"
In lieu of verbal confirmation, Blake flipped her ebony hair onto one side of her head. She tilted her head slightly to the side, then took a second to ruffle it up a bit before she lazily draped her arm atop her head, letting her hand hang limp.
Weiss had to admit, her teammate looked like she could be on the cover of a fashion magazine like that.
She tried to imitate the pose Blake adopted, giving a "sexy" pout of her own in response to her teammate's resting bitch face.
Blake dropped her pose, now looking quizzically at the heiress. "What are you doing?" she asked.
"…trying to copy what you were doing, obviously."
"I wasn't making 'duckface'."
"Neither was I!" Weiss also abandoned her efforts, an indignant scowl replacing her "pout". "I was going for 'alluring and playful'!"
"Well, it looked like duckface to me."
Weiss locked eyes with Blake, glaring daggers at the Faunus for a moment…though it quickly devolved into resigned acceptance. "You're right…I never really like how my face looked in the pictures I take, anyway…"
"It just takes practice," Blake assured her, giving her should a comforting pat. "Anyway, I'll let you get back to your photoshoot; I used to stay up pretty late when I was in the White Fang, but I also didn't have classes the next day back then."
"Alright. …thanks for agreeing to not say anything about this, Blake."
"No problem, Weiss." Blake unlocked the bathroom door and left, gently shutting it behind her, leaving Weiss alone once again.
She glanced back at the full-length mirror and did her "alluring pout" once more, grimacing a moment later.
"Not worth it…"

The next evening Weiss elected to not do another shoot, if only to help sell her cover to Ruby and Yang. Besides, she could stand to be less frequent with her posts; she'd read that creative burnout could happen when you did too much too fast, so going on a hiatus from posting new photos for a few days felt like a good way to come up with some new ideas, and give her growing number of fans something to look forward to.
However…that didn't mean her normal problems completely went away.
"Yaaaaaaang, I can't hold it much longerrrrrrr…!"
"Ruby, I just started brushing; I can't just stop in the middle of it!"
"You mean you won't stop in the middle of it," Weiss correct. "Yang, just let your sister use the toilet already! I'd really prefer not to ask for new carpets when Ruby has an accident…"
"Ugh, fine!" The bathroom door slammed open, a very perturbed looking Yang standing in the threshold, her usually well-groomed hair looking much less groomed, a comb hanging on the right side. "Just don't take too-"
A red blur zipped past Yang, shoving her back into the room and slamming the door shut.
"This is patently unfair!" the blond protested, "I drew the longest straw, so I should get to finish what I started!" She turned to her assigned partner (who had her nose in the middle of a book, as per usual), "C'mon, Blake, tell Ice Queen she's being unreasonable!"
"I don't want to have to get new carpets either," she said, turning a page.
"Blaaaaaaake!"
As the Faunus girl shrugged the sound of flushing water sounded, Ruby bursting out of the bathroom looking refreshed. "Done!"
"Finally!" Yang glanced around the room, "…anyone else wanna steal my turn?"
Ruby shook her head 'no'.
Weiss gave a dismissive wave.
"...actually-"
Yang gave an emphatic groan.
"Don't worry, Yang, you can brush your hair to your heart's content. I was just going to grab a snack from the vending machine; Weiss can do her nightly routine if I'm not back before Yang's done."
"That sounds acceptable," Weiss hummed.
"Happy hunting!~" Yang waved, then disappeared back into the bathroom.
"Ooh, can you get a bag of cookies-?"
"No," Weiss immediately cut her young leader off. "You just had a bunch at dinner."
So cruel…," Ruby sobbed.
Blake just smirked and hopped down from her bunk, making her way down to the vending machine at the end of the hall.
…then walked right past it, ducking into the girl's restroom and laying claim to one of the stalls.
After waiting a moment to make sure no one else had a full bladder, she began stripping out of her clothes until she was in nothing but her underwear and her knee-high stockings.
Then she picked up her Scroll and loaded up her OnlyFaunus account to make a new post for all her followers.
Weiss wasn't the only one who'd been bitten by the social media bug.
fin.
Well, it's been a hot minute since I put out a RWBY fic on this account. I recently saw a fan comic of the rest of RWBY discovering Weiss taking Instagram photos, and this idea took root in my meat brain. It actually turned outa little longer than I originally anticipated, but since when is that ever a bad thing for the reader? Dunno what the next bit of RWBY content I put out will be, but I'm just as eager to find out as y'all, so stay tuned, leave a review and share your thoughts, and as always, be Excellent to each other.
