Naruto AU: A Ninja World Without Black Zetsu

Chapter 2: The Birth of Jashin

After a few days and nights, walking through endless grass fields and tall trees, Hagoromo saw a small village in the distance and decided that it would make a decent spot to rest for a bit before continuing his journey.

His stomach was starting to complain through loud grumbles. He only managed to survive by drinking river water, hunting wild animals, and fishing.

Yes, it was time for a little break. However, as the village came close to his sight, Hagoromo couldn't help but feel that there was something wrong.

For once, the ambient noise didn't change as he was getting closer, which would mean that there was nobody there.

This assumption was supported by the lack of farmers working in the rice fields surrounding the village. And as Hagoromo came closer, he saw that his fears were indeed a reality.

The town was completely ruined. Half the houses had been burned to the ground.

There were broken glasses and pieces of wood scattered everywhere, alongside farming tools.

The pools of dried blood and the many dead corpses didn't go unnoticed either.

There were also strange symbols of an upside-down triangle with a circle around it, in dried blood. Spread around the ground and the walls of the broken houses.

Still, there was something missing. Despite the overwhelming evidence of the town being the victim of an attack or invasion–Hagoromo guessed it happened between two and four days ago.

If the attackers were a group of pillaging bandits would've taken most villagers as prisoners, such as the women and children. Then use them as slaves.

So why did they kill a large majority of these innocent people? Including the women and children, it didn't make any sense.

Hagoromo thought as he tried to investigate what transpired in the former village.

Suddenly, a noise snapped Hagoromo from his inner thoughts. He prepared his

khakkhara and extended his left, as he immediately turned around and adopted a fighting stance.

(Hagoromo used the Truth-Seeking Balls and had it take the shape of a khakkhara.)

"Who goes there!?" Hagoromo asked, not expecting anyone stupid enough to answer that question. And indeed, nobody answered. But whoever was stalking Hagoromo made a sound while they tried to move.

That's all that the Hagoromo needed to pinpoint their location. Silent as the night breeze, the rinnegan eyed man burst into one of the less damaged houses, almost tearing the door from its hinges.

"Please don't hurt me!"

Hagoromo immediately dropped her fighting stance when he saw a woman in her thirties, wearing a ragged kimono, sitting on a corner cowering before him.

He lowered his khakkhara; but didn't lower his guard just in case it was a trap.

"Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you," Hagoromo walked towards the woman, who continued trembling. "My name is Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, what is your name miss?"

The middle-aged woman finally dared to make eye contact with Hagoromo, and her body stopped shaking.

"My...my name is K-Kaede..." The woman stuttered. "Aren't you going to hurt me?"

"Of course not my dear, I'm no threat to you."

Kurenai helped the woman on her feet.

"Kaede, could you tell me what happened here?" Upon seeing how shaken the woman was, added. "Please, take your time to catch your breath if you need it."

Hagoromo sat on the wooden floorboard and motioned Kaede to sit down alongside him. Hagoromo even prepared green tea

shared some of his leftover food with her, thinking that at least a partially full stomach

and relaxing tea would help to soothe her nerves.

After a couple minutes had passed, Kaede was relaxed enough to talk. "It started happening a week ago…a group of strange bandits wearing black cloaks attacked our beautiful village and left it in ruin. They showed no mercy massacring the men, women and even the children."

For some reason, Hagoromo thought that this was something more than a minor group of raiders. They sounded more like a psychopathic cult obsessed with killing and destruction itself.

"How did you survive?" the purple-eyed man asked. "M-My husband hid me in the floorboards with us and my two children...we've spent the past two days...I came out to see if it was safe...then I saw you and thought that you came here to finish us off..." The woman sobbed.

"Calm down. I swear, I'm not going to hurt you. Now, this is what you're going to do: there's another town a few kilometers to the southwest named Otsutsuki Village. I know that it's dangerous, but I want you to pack whatever you can, grab your children, and go to that town. That town is under my brother's leadership and protection, so you should be safe there, just tell him that I will send you there and explain the situation like you did with me." Hagoromo said, reassuring the young woman.

"B-But...it's too dangerous to travel these lands alone!" the woman protested.

"Listen, this town has been ravaged, so no bandit would have any interest in this area. Besides, there are too many open fields to set up an ambush. If you set off in an hour, you should arrive at the Otsutsuki Village in two days at least."

"O-Okay...guess that it's too dangerous to remain here..." the woman cried. "Wait! Can you come with us? You look strong enough to protect my family."

"Unfortunately, I can't. I'm going after those

despicable bandits and make sure they answer to their crimes." Hagoromo replied, sounding apologetic.

"I see you tend to avenge us...guess that I'll have to be brave, at least for my children…" The woman wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at Hagoromo with a heartfelt smile. "Still, thanks for your help, Hagoromo-sama..."

"You're welcome. Now, if you excuse me, I need to resume my journey."

I swear to avenge the innocent people who were slaughtered by these murderous criminals. Hagoromo thought.

The afternoon sunlight had descended over the forest and Hagoromo continued his journey near the flowing river on the dirt path for one day.

Until Hagoromo reached a hot springs village. Suddenly from the far distance, Hagoromo saw the corpses of two dead guardsmen. Mmm, I have a bad feeling. Hagoromo thought, sensing an eerie feeling within the village.

Wasting no time or effort, Hagoromo raced to the village, thinking that the village was in danger from the manslaughter bandits.

As soon as he reached the center of town, he saw a young woman unconscious and about to be killed by a man wearing a black cloak with a symbol of a white upside-down triangle with a circle around it.

On his back and welding a one-bladed scythe readying to kill innocent women was tied up.

"Die in the name of Jashin." The man said as he raised his scythe upwards preparing to strike her down without mercy.

In an instant, Hagoromo extended his left hand ready to activate Universal Pull, a technique that manipulates attractive force.

He tends to attract the target and hold him by the neck then kill him by reshaping the khakkhara into a sharp spear with a retractable cylinder and stabbing him in the heart.

But suddenly an unknown entity appeared out of nowhere, a young beautiful woman with long black hair, and white horns sticking out of her head and revealing her Sharingan red eyes.

As the otherworldly woman extended her left hand which was covered in blue chakra due to her forming her chakra into a small, sharp blade.

Then she moved her left hand upward towards the evil cultist's head, killing him instantly by severing his head from the body.

Afterward, Hagoromo questioned the otherworldly woman who suddenly saved him moments ago. "Thank you for saving me, but who are you and why do you have the Sharingan?" Hagoromo questioned her.

"I am Kishijoten and I am your rescuer as you are my. All your questions will be answered in due time, but I promise you I am not your enemy, I'm here to save this town and its people from these evil cults who follow the religion of Jashin." Kishijoten answered with a wise undertone.

"I see, so you seek to save this village and its inhabitants just like me." Hagoromo replied.

"Yes, I'm on a mission to destroy this villainous cult once and all. Before its influence spreads across the world…For now, let's save our talk for later I sense the leader is further away."

Hagoromo and Kishijoten began running towards the village square, along the way there he saw countless people and evil cult members who had fallen into a deep sleep.

Then they finally reached the leader of the evil cult, and awaited the both of them.

A tall man with black hair which is almost always put in a style where one of his eyes is covered by his bangs and he has black eyes that are deeply sunken and a black earring in his left ear.

He wears a long dark cloak with a high collar and the Jashin symbol emblazoned on the back. Lastly, he has black pants and sandals and he holds a one-bladed scythe as his main weapon against his enemies.

"Well well, it looks like the freaky lady found herself a partner who is just as ugly as her." The evil cultist leader said, looking quite annoyed and angry by Kishijoten.

"You literally ruined my ritual party for my followers and there's no telling when they'll wake up from a weird attack that puts the entire town to sleep. Only me and my second in command managed to escape all those stupid sleep-inducing feathers."

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but your partner is already dead you psychopath!"

Kishijoten said with an icy cold glare.

"So you're the mastermind who destroyed the previous village that was miles away from here. What compelled you and your followers to enact a massacre on so many innocent people!?"

Hagoromo questioned the villain's actions and motives. Desiring to know the truth behind why they caused all this chaos and bloodshed.

"You wanna know why, weirdo face? Well too bad you won't live long enough to find out. Now die in the name of Jashin, Curse Technique: Scarlet bloodshot!" The Jashin leader shouted as he extended both of his hands up and ten beams of blood shot at Kishijoten and Hagoromo.

"Kishijoten, get behind me…Almighty Push!" Hagoromo shouted as he extended both his hands upward and created a repulsive force to push away the beams of blood. Once the beams of blood were deflected, it hit a few nearby houses and shops.

"Impossible! No man can block my Curse Technique: Scarlet bloodshot; fine I'll just kill both of you freaks with brute force!"

"That's what you think, psychopath!" Kishijoten shouted as she moved forward with both hands covered in blue chakra, forming her chakra into a small, sharp blade, preparing to strike down the leader of the evil cult group.

Ha, that foolish woman, my scythe has a further reach. There's no way her hands can touch me from this distance, it's time she says her prayers!

The Jashin cult leader thought as he stared at women's red eyes.

"You underestimate my true powers, now suffer under the full weight of my Mangekyo Sharingan, Genjutsu: Daikokuten!" Kishijoten shouted as she

made eye contact with her enemy, traps him in an illusion of her design.

"Where the heck am I!? What happened to the village and why can't I move? It's like the heavy gravity pressure is crushing my body and preventing me from getting up." The Jashin cult leader said as he looked around his surroundings face down he saw outer space with a starlit black abyss, the sun, moon, and earth.

"I'm in outer space, this can't be!?" This gotta be a dream, right? The cultist thought, thinking that he was in a deep sleep.

"No, you're not in outer space, you're in an illusion of my creation…Now you will know the same pain you brought upon your victims." Kishijoten said while one hundred katanas, daggers, spears, and senbons hovered high above the evil cultist leader.

Kishijoten releases one of the daggers as it falls straight down towards the cultist leader's backside and stabs him.

"GAH!" The cultist leader wails in pain at the sting of a sharp blade. "Within the realm of Daikokuten…Space…Gravity…Physical mass…Everything…Is under my control…For the next seven hours…I will release my Zero Gravity hold on all these weapons and they'll fall straight toward your filthy body."

"No, no, wait I beg mercy, please spare me." The cultist leader said as he panicked, struggled and whimpered like his life depended upon it.

"Take it up with your god Jashin, cause I'm fresh out of mercy scumbag, now die!"

"GUAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A hundred weapons repeatedly struck the Jashin cultist leader for seven hours straight. Striking his arm, leg, head, and his private parts.

Eventually, the genjutsu ended and the cultist leader returned to the real world, but fell into a comatose state, feeling completely dazed.

He instantly dropped his scythe as he briefly locked eyes on the otherworldly woman with crimson red eyes, desiring death instead of being subjected to a dreadful illusion spell and submitting to her.

Kishijoten used this opportunity to thrust her left hand straight through the Jashin cultist leader's heart, killing him instantly.

"Now it's finally over, your despicable cult is no more," Kishijoten said in a low undertone as she ripped out her hand from the dead man's torso, leaving it with a bleeding hole in its chest.

"Hopefully, this is the last time we'll see this psychotic cult of killers," Hagoromo said, feeling glad there won't be any more massacre villages. Now Jashin followers are destroyed.

"Possibly; those who didn't want to join the group of Jashin worshipers. Most likely decided to teach Jashin in secret, hidden amongst the shadows as a mercenary, bounty hunter, or assassin. Either way, their numbers have dwindled and my mission is complete." Kishijoten said as she sighed with relief that these cultists' killers were finally dealt with by her hands.

"Come along now, I'll need your help to tie up the rest of these Jashin followers that I put to sleep."
