p class="paragraphe"While waiting for an answer from her two friends, the kryptonian girl also analyzed her memories. The set claiming she was a human called Chloe Sullivan had all the marks of being artificially implemented rather than naturally obtained, they also felt like they were the actual basis of her personality, and featured the two peoples currently in front of her, which were clues toward her really being Chloe. On the flip-side, the memories of having grown on Krypton as a Kara-El felt far more natural, but seemed slightly off as a base for her mental development./p
p class="paragraphe"As she woke up more, all her memories became clearer and easier to access. She now remembered the last chat of a dying Chloe with Zor-El, how she offered her live so Kara-El could live. But while the A.I. version of the kryptonian father led her to believe the sleeping girl would clearly wake up as Kara, albeit looking like Chloe and having her knowledge and memories on top of her own, it wasn't exactly the case./p
p class="paragraphe"Sure, Kara's memories felt more natural, more real, but only because they were the one originally present in her brain. The truth is that by dumping the content of Chloe's whole brain into Kara's one, Zor-El didn't use the human's death to save his daughter like he thought, but sacrificed the young kryptonian so Chloe could live. That realization made her cry, even knowing Kara couldn't have woken up anyway./p
p class="paragraphe""Kara?" Chloe could hear the worry in Clark's voice./p
p class="paragraphe"She shook her head and said "I have her memories, but mentally I'm more Chloe than I am your long lost cousin, Clark." Then, after looking at his Superman costume, she added "I see I'm not the only one in Ceremonial Kryptonian wear," the start of a smile appearing on her face./p
p class="paragraphe"Clark decided to say nothing, there was more urgent things to do than explain that it was pure hazard his super-heroic costume resembled something used on Krypton during some ceremonies he knew nothing of. Like letting his fiancé grill her now Kryptonian cousin until she dissipated all doubt about the teenager being who she claimed. Once she was sure, a joyfully crying Lois hugged a resurrected Chloe. Had she still been human, the blond would have been unable to breath with how tight was the embrace, but since her new nature prevented any problem, she choose to say nothing and let Lois have her moment, returning the hug, albeit without tightening it, not wanting to hurt the brunette./p
p class="paragraphe"Once Lois was finally able to release Chloe, she said "Let's call the family, let th…" but was interrupted by the Kryptonian girl before she could finish, "strongNo!/strong"/p
p class="paragraphe""Wha?! But Why!?" Simultaneously asked the surprised lovers./p
p class="paragraphe""First, because a Kryptonian holiday called 'the Day of Truth' is around the corner and, since gaining Kara's memories, I won't be able to lie that day. Secondly, because the peoples who shot me while I protected the secret of this cave were soldiers of the U.S. army commanded by Samuel /So the longer the general think me dead, the better."/p
p class="paragraphe"At this, Lois and Clark looked sadly at each other, before the former said "Chloe, the General died two years ago, and by then he was retired."/p
p class="paragraphe""How… How long did I stay locked in stasis?" Hesitantly asked Chloe./p
p class="paragraphe""Long enough that, in our search for what happened to you, I became a competent reporter," spoke Lois. "Long enough that most people forgot Clark isn't really the mild-mannered binoclar he pretend to be nowadays, at least when he's strongnot/strong in his super-hero costume. Long enough that two strangers looking for the same person to fall in love and marry each others" Admitted the Daily Planet star journalist, saying the last part looking lovingly at her husband while showing her wedding ring to her resurrected cousin./p
p class="paragraphe"Chloe was quite surprised by that development./p
p class="paragraphe""Of course people don't know the secret identity of Superman, so I don't wear my ring when dressed like that," admitted the super-hero. "No need to cause baseless speculative rumors about my alter-ego's sex-life."/p
p class="paragraphe"Lois snorted. "You know there is rumor of me having an affair with a famous red blue spandex wearing hero, right?" The three of them burst out laughing at that one./p
