Chapter 5: Ryoko's past, friends, rivals and more situations

AN: Shout out to my UK and US readers out there!

Before we get to the big stuff I just want to make one thing clear. Ryoko is NOT a Mary Sue! She's an original character yes, but I'm not going to have her miraculously start walking again. She'll be permanently disabled and in a wheelchair.

Now on to the main part of this authors note. To sum up I have three stories and in between this large work of mine between chapters. Or when I need a break I will be working on one of the stories.

I'll be placing a poll on my profile for you guys to decide which story I'll work on and published. The names, summaries and the last day to vote will be at the bottom of this chapter.

Ryoko stared out at the ocean, the sun glinting off of the blue sea. A few seagulls flew by, but the blonde paid them no attention. She clutched the sapphire jewel with the blue eyes White dragon outlined at its center. As if her life depended on it, which in a way, for the blonde, it did.

She rubbed her black skirt with silver trimming, absently. Her light blue eyes were distant and haunted, reliving some unpleasant memories. Her face set in an emotionless mask.

'Sometimes people say that things will get better before they get worse, if you were to look at me and my background you would think that. But in truth my life was perfectly fine... Until they came... I've met the shadow riders before, not face to face, but I've seen what they are capable of.'

'And how far they're willing to go to get what they want.'

A six year old Ryoko sat on her bed as she looked up at her parents Ivan and lucky. As she held her four-year-old sister, Kisara. Her little sister had white hair and deep brown almost black eyes with pale skin, like her older sister.

"Mama, a song!" Exclaimed Kisara happily clapping her tiny hands together.

Ivan ruffled his daughters White hair which she'd gain from her mother and her eyes from him. The same could be said of Ryoko, gaining her eye color and his hair color. He turned, smiling at his wife who nodded smiling herself.

Lucky knelt down and brought out a silver chain necklace with a sapphire jewel hanging from it, from underneath her pajamas. The young woman took it off before placing it around her eldest daughters neck smiling a mysterious knowing smile. Knowing more than she let on, Knowing how special this necklace was.

Ryoko look down, tracing her fingers along the sparkling Safire Jewel. "It's pretty, mama thank you."

"Don't think I forgot about you, my little magician. " laughed Ivan, seeing kisara's pouty expression.

From his Jeans pocket Ivan brought out a five pointed silver shield shaped brooch with two dragons circling one another at its center. The silver was polished to a point where one could see their reflection. The first dragon was black with two Ruby's for eyes while the second one was white with sapphires for eyes.

Kisara's dark eyes shined with wonder as her father pinned it to her nightgown smiling at it as she touched the polished stones of the two dragons. "Thanks dada!"

"You're welcome," Ivan replied, before turning to his wife. "Now how about that song? We need to get these two gremlins to bed." He said teasing at the last part, as his daughters crossed their arms and glared up at him.

Lucky shoved her husband playfully before standing up and sitting next to Ryoko, Ivan sitting on kisara's other side. She cleared her throat and began to sing.

"Where the frozen land

meets the sky

There are dragons and magic

full of lost memories

Hush my children

safe and sound

For in this castle

All answers Shall be found

Walk deep in where she dwells

But not too far

Or you'll slumber deep

Yes listen to the Lady sing

For in her voice all magic flows

But can you brave what you must fear

Can you face what the shadows know

Where the frozen land

meets the sky

There are dragons

full of lost memories

Hush my children

safe and sound

For when hope is lost

Hope will be found"

Ryoko and kisara had already dozed off, after hearing the last few lines of their mothers song. Gently picking up their children Ivan and lucky placed them gingerly into their bed. Knowing that the two girls never slept apart from one another and gently tucked them in. They quietly left the room and went to bed themselves. Hoping one day in the future when the girls were old enough. To teach them their families magical history with the red eyes and blue eyes mages. As well as the Keeper of the book of prophecy.

But they both knew that their time with their daughters would be cut short. With what they knew of the girls past in kemet. Lucky and Ivan knew that they would die. The couple were merely messengers...of sorts. And since they were messengers in the thread of destiny and fate.

Their deaths were inevitable.

Husband and wife just didn't know how soon that would be.

Ryoko cracked open one eye a few hours later, she looked over her sisters head and saw the clocks time, 12:00 A.M. Smiling, the six-year-old blonde began to shake her white haired sister awake.

"Psst kisara, Wiki wiki, sis." She whispered, still shaking her sisters shoulders.

The white haired girl opened her deep dark brown eyes and stared back at her sister sleepily. "Hmm, Kayda... what?"

Ryoko inwardly frowned, she didn't know why her little sister called her that. It wasn't her name, but... at times like this, her sister would always call her that. She liked it, but it was quite strange. Strange in the sense that she would receive strange images. Whenever her sister brought up that name Kayda, memories... Quick flashes of people that she didn't recognize appeared in her mind, like now.

The images flashed by too quickly for her to make out any details, but she could feel what was going on. Vaguely she heard the sounds of fighting. Something sticky and wet covered her body, though she didn't know what part. Then she saw quick flashes of people fighting and... she heard someone crying over her body, vowing vengeance...

Later when she had a clear mind and was alone to think on her thoughts. She'd peace out what she saw and put it together into something that made sense. The blonde wasn't sure why she was receiving these visions... But somewhere deep within her heart she knew that they were important. Even though they scared her, a lot.

She blinked, shaking away those thoughts and saving them for later. Though in a couple of hours when the sun began to rise, her visions would be the furthest thing from her mind.

Taking her little sister's small hand into her larger one. She connected their pinkies together, smiling. " I wanted to tell you that will always be sisters no matter what, ok?"

Kisara's eyes shined sleepily as she nodded. "Forever and always..."

Quickly giving her a hug, Ryoko snuggled back into her warm bed sheets and returned to sleep.

A few hours later the Sky began to lighten as a group of 20 figures clothed in shadow surrounded the house. Half of the group teleported inside the house beginning to search the rooms making sure to keep their footsteps light and breathing shallow. Meanwhile the shadow riders who were outside summoned various duel monsters. Upon arriving into the human realm, The dragon and non dragon duel monsters started to Break into the house or set it ablaze.

Ryoko opened her eyes and set up, as did her little sister. Something had woken her up, but what?

The two looked at one another before slipping out of bed feeling uneasy and nervous. As the six-year-old blonde open the door, she gasped seeing smoke and fire coming from the direction of her parents bedroom.

Ryoko gulped, her stomach twisting into uncomfortable knots. 'I don't like this.'

She coughed, tugging her sister along. Knowing that if they reached the front door then they would be safe. The house was fairly large, not small in the least, but it wasn't mansion sized either. As Ryoko lead her sister along down the hallway. A few embers caught onto her light blue nightgown, beginning to set the thin fabric on fire.

The blonde stumbled along trying to cover her mouth while simultaneously hold on to her sisters hand and put out the flames on her thin nightgown. Ryoko stopped in her tracks looking up, kisara stumbled and bumped into her older sister looking confused.

"Kayda?" Questioned the white haired four-year-old.

Having a distracted expression on her face, Ryoko absently squeezed her sisters hand. Placing her finger to her lips, the blonde made a shushing sound. Her gaze fixed on the ceiling. The two girls kept on staring, transfixed on the roof. And unaware of the danger creeping up behind them. Ryoko finally allowed herself to blink, she could've sworn that she'd heard a creaking sound. As if someone was using an ax on the roof trying to break it.

'Looking back on it, my only regret was not holding on to her hand more firmly.'

Kisara cried out in surprise and fear. As a hand reached out and grabbed her by the back of her Violet nightgown. The hand was large and firm. The owner use to small squirming brats. So they knew how to handle them, pity the little bich didn't have enough sense to keep her mouth shut. The figure wrapped their arm around her waist preventing her from escaping and forcing the white haired girl to let go of her sisters hand.

The beams above began to creek and grown. Ryoko whipped around, feeling her sisters hand being forcibly jerked back. She looked up and glared at the stranger with hatred and a flicker of fear. As he held her sister captive.

Kisara's deep dark almost black eyes were wide with fear. "Kayda! Help me!"

The shadow rider wasted no time and swiftly disappeared with his quarry. But not before the pendant glowed softly, the two dragons eyes flashing a light blue and dark red, revealing for a moment, a book. The cover seeming to be made out of Crystal before it vanished and engulfed kisara's body.

Ryoko stared, helplessly. As the mysterious stranger seemed to disappear in to the shadows, taking her little sister with them.

"Kisara!" Ryoko wailed, voice filled with anguish and hatred.

For the loss of her sister and for the ones who took her from her. Ryoko fell to her knees and screamed. Tears streaming down her face, the embers around her floating in the air. She kept on screaming, not paying any attention to her surroundings. The rest of the blondes upper body falling on to the floor, her mind unable to take any more stress. During this time while she was grieving. Ryoko was unaware of the beams above her beginning to collapse and fall towards the ground in the blondes direction. Flames still licking at the falling wood.

Present day ~

Ryoko blinked slowly, vaguely aware of her surroundings. The rest of her memories... After that were a blur. She reached up feeling something wet on her face. With a start the blonde duelist realized that she had been crying.

"Dammit..." She said her voice distant and hollow. Not taking her eyes off of the ocean, Ryoko began to rub away any traces that she had been crying, as best she could.

' I can't remember anything after that. Next thing I know, I'm in the hospital and the doctors are telling me that I'm paralyzed for life from the waist down. I wonder if they got mama and papa to...?' Ryoko thought somberly

An obelisk blue first year walked up towards the blonde, who still hadn't noticed her presents. The girls Hazel eyes shined with concern. She had been looking for her friend Zane, When she heard crying. The hazel eyed girl in fact was Alexis.

She had been standing aways off. looking at the only dualist on the ship in a wheelchair. She stopped in her tracks hesitating, Alexis was truly concerned for the other teen. She had seemed so confident at the Dueling exam as if nothing could break her. But now she was seeing a different side of the blonde. One that Alexis suspected few really had the opportunity to see.

'I wonder what happened?' The dirty blonde haired girl shook her head. 'It's none of my business, but still I could at least talk to her.'

Alexis knew the blonde to be Ryoko kaiba, deciding to see what was wrong or at the very least give the blonde some comfort. She mustard up her courage before tentatively beginning her walk towards the blonde. Once she reached the girls side she placed a gentle hand on the older girls shoulder.

On impulse Ryoko stiffened when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Raining in her grief, she placed on her emotionless mask and whipped her head around nearly getting whiplash. Swiftly taking note of the obelisk blue female uniform, Ryoko raised her head, meeting the eyes of the girl who was still holding her shoulder.

She was just about to demand that she mind her own business when there eyes locked onto One anothers...

Faintly her eyes and the image of the blue eyes White Dragon at the center of her sapphire pendant, sparked with ancient ghostly blue flames...

Then Ryoko's World went blank...

The magic fading as she uttered one word in ancient Kemet.

"Bomani..."

The figure stumbled, as he teleported back to his base of operation. The shadow rider was puzzled on how the struggling, brat of a girl had all of a sudden seemed so heavy. He looked down staring disbelievingly at the ice like Crystal that engulfed his captives body.

He cursed the two no doubt deceased parents and older sister. Before carelessly dropping the ice like crystal that held kisara's frozen curled up form. The little girls eyes were closed, her knees were pulled to her chest. Kisara's small hands clutched on to the faintly glowing pulsing pendant still pinned to her nightgown.

A female shadow mage walked out of the shadows behind the lower ranked male. He spun, startled before he was slapped in the face by the female. She smirked, her dark red lipstick making her pale features and dark glittering brown eyes stand out more. Raising her manicured hand back, fingernails like dark blood red claws. The ends crackling with dark purple lightning outlined in black. She braced herself alone her dark intentions to flow through her magic before bringing the appendage forward and striking the shadow rider in the chest. Hearing his agonized screams of pain a moment later brought a smug satisfied smile to her dark red lips.

She walked by, her dark chestnut brown hair pulled up in a high smooth bun. When he didn't stop after a moment she kicked the writhing, screaming man in the stomach. The young woman didn't care for lowlifes like him. She sneered down at him with contempt before turning her attention onto the pulsing ice like crystal.

"Ah," she exclaimed grinning evilly to herself. "Perhaps I shouldn't have injured you..." She said thoughtfully. Turning when she didn't hear any more screaming.

She frowned, realizing her mistake. She'd placed... too much shadow magic into the spell. 'Hmm, well there's more lowlifes where he came from. He was only here for the money after all... since he did have a debt to pay off before someone decided to kill him... Oh wait, that someone happens to be me. The woman he owed.'

"You Shouldn't have killed him." Rasped a voice. " he could've told us if the others had succeeded in their mission. We don't want our suspected future dragon mage to make contact with the high priest. Disappointing Claudia, very disappointing indeed."

Slowly turning her head to the left, the young woman, Claudia, saw a black robed elderly man with a long floor length beard. The man's watery gray blue eyes showing disapproval. With a gnarled wrinkly hand he levitated the Crystal upwards and turned his back on the young woman.

"But master he..." Began Claudia

"But nothing!" Snapped the elderly man not looking back. "Pray the other three are dead. Inform lady camula of this new development. Then go back to your studies. Immediately!"

Claudia gulped, knowing that she shouldn't argue with her master when he was in this state. Although he couldn't see her, Claudia bowed her head and turned away doing as her master requested. Inwardly she was seething with rage.

'Curse that vampire slut! And her offspring!'

Present day ~

Ryoko felt someone vigorously shaking her shoulders. It had been the third time that day she vaguely realized. That she had not been aware of her surroundings. She opened them, her mind slowly catching up with her body. The vision that she had just seen... It had to be of what happened to her sister after she was taken.

'Who were those people?' Wondered Ryoko still confused about her vision. 'Are they also shadow riders? Why do they want me, mom and papa Dead? And what did the elderly man mean by 'not making any contact with the high priest?' Could he have meant father?'

"Umm... I don't mean to be rude or anything... but I saw you crying earlier and I was wondering if you were all right?" Asked Alexis hesitantly.

Ryoko's mind returned back to her present situation. It was the obelisk blue girl from earlier. The taller girl had dirty blonde hair and... Dazzling hazel eyes. Inwardly smacking herself at her teenage hormones, she straightened. Giving the girl in front of her a cool stare, one eyebrow raised quizzically.

"I am well," She replied promptly. "It's just been an off day for me..."

"Oh..." Was all Alexis could say in response. Deciding to introduce herself she said. "I'm Alexis."

Ryoko was startled for a moment, she had a feeling that Alexis knew who she was but that wasn't what surprised her. It was that she did not mention her status as a kaiba or that she was the daughter of Seto Kaiba. Most of the time people would react in a way that made the blonde feel uncomfortable and awkward. Those people would see her as someone above themselves or look at her as if she was a spoiled child. Which she absolutely wasn't thank you very much. Ryoko was a hard worker, and she worked hard to properly call herself a wheeler and kaiba.

Looking at Alexis actions, Ryoko decided that she could be a very good friend indeed.

'Hmm... I wonder if she is the same Alexis who is related to the missing boy... Atticus. Could she be his sister? I'll look into this later, right now I think it's high time for me to make some true friends who won't take advantage of me.' She thought smiling a true smile.

'Although, i best be cautious, it could just be an act.' She added remembering a few similar meetings with her so-called friends. Who'd stabbed her in the back after showing her fake kindness. Shaking those thoughts aside she decided to be friend Alexis but keep a fair distance from her. 'She isn't a gang member, but better to be safe than sorry. Besides she's far too nice. If it was an act I could see it in her eyes. This girls eyes are to truthful. There's just one more thing I need to do before continuing with my plan. I need to duel her, like uncle yami once said 'you won't know a person's true colors until you duel them.'

"I'm Ryoko kaiba, though I suspect you already knew that, didn't you." She said chuckling.

Alexis was surprised and slightly taken aback since all of the rumors that she'd heard said that Ryoko was either a spoiled brat or a cold person. But clearly she wasn't any of those things, her duel from two days ago and how she responded to her question. Proved that Ryoko was a good person at heart despite her adopted fathers last name.

"Yeah..." She answered once more hesitating. "So I was wondering if..." Alexis began beginning to slowly get comfortable around the blonde.

"THAT'S IT YOU'ER DEAD! BLOODY FUCKING RA DEAD!" roared an all to familiar voice to Ryoko.

'Can't someone go for one minute without insulting one of Jaden's duel monsters...' groaned Ryoko having a feeling that this was going to lead up into a double duel. If her past experiences with her cousin during the last five years or so had anything to say about it. 'So much for a peaceful cruise.'

'It must've been an obelisk blue student with half a Brain cell.' She thought grumbling. Beginning to steer her wheelchair in the direction of the commotion.

"Come on," she urged turning around gesturing for Alexis to follow her. "I have a feeling The next few minutes are going to be leading up to a double duel."

Confused, but nonetheless curious Alexis followed the blonde asking. "What do you mean this might be leading up to a double duel?"

Ryoko gave the faintest hint of a smile her eyes gleaming with anticipation for the upcoming duel. As she simply replied with. "You'll see."

About 25 minutes earlier~

As Jaden followed by pie entered there luxury Cruise bedroom for the trip, she didn't know whether to roll her eyes or sigh in exasperation at her godfather.

"This is ridiculous..." she sighed a fond smile on her face.

'At least the high priest had enough sense to allow every student to have their own quarters. After all, we wouldn't want your secret getting out before arriving. Now would we, princess?' Pie said thoughtfully looking around the simple yet elegant room.

Directly across from them was a simple bed with white sheets and a dark mahogany wood bedframe. On the left side was a simple side table with two drawers. The wood made out of the same material as the bedframe. On top of it was a simple lamp. On the other side of the bed was a simple dresser with two drawers on the bottom and on the top was a pair of double doors. The walls were painted white while the floor was layered in a soft squishy red carpet.

Turning in the direction of the dresser Jaden noted that there was another door no doubt leading to a private bathroom with all the necessities needed, if her assumption about her godfather paying no expense was correct. Which... Coming from her was definitely on point.

Jaden shrugged one shoulder. "I guess you're right."

Pie for her part slipped into the room purring as she did so. Jaden chuckled as she smoothed out her red t-shirt before walking into the room and closing the door behind her.

After putting away her backpack and retrieving her deck, strapping it on to her belt and grabbing her dueling disc out of her bag. Jaden strode out of the room to see what her godfathers cruise ship had to offer. Pie had decided to stay behind, deciding to work a bit on the poem before joining her.

As she walked around Jaden could see third and second year obelisk blue, Ra yellow and Slifer red students staring at her out of the corner of their eyes. They were giving glances whenever they thought that she couldn't see them and whispering to one another.

"Hay look."

"Huh? "

"Who's that?"

"You don't know?!"

"Uhh... No should I?"

"What are you guys talking about?"

"The brunette kid, he's one of the ones that defeated one of the two top obelisk teachers at DA."

"You're joking."

"No it's true, he's one of the duelists who defeated Crowler with a dark magician and some new duel Monster card I've never seen before!"

"Wait seriously an actual dark magician!"

"Now you're just pulling our legs."

"I'm not... That kid has guts, I wouldn't be surprised if he went against Princeton."

"Chazz? Yeah right, that kid doesn't look as if he has the guts to stand up against Crowler let alone Chazz Princeton."

It seemed, even when she was going undercover, her fame still followed her regardless.

'So much for staying fully incognito and not drawing any attention to myself.' She groaned. 'At least they don't know who my parents really are. So... that's a plus.'

Walking over to the railing she looked out towards the sea and watched as the mainland got smaller and smaller. She was really going to miss domino, but she could handle a bit of homesickness. After all her daddy was out there waiting for her.

(It seems like yours and Ryoko's victory's over The professors have spread like wildfire.)

Jaden nearly jumped out of her skin, clutching the chain that held her millennium clock, she glanced sideways. It was Mahado translucent as ever and floating a few inches off of the ground. His staff held in one hand. Taking a few minutes to calm down she eventually replied with.

'Yeah... I was hoping to not draw too much attention, probably shouldn't have brought you out during the duel, huh?' She thought, a sheepish grin on her face.

(Probably,) agreed Mahado. (I am widely known as the queens ace card.)

Resisting the urge to roll her eyes. Jaden gave him a quick mock sideways glare. 'Well if you're such a strong high and mighty spell caster. Then why haven't you gotten the guts and proposed to Mana already?'

(E-excuse m-me?!) Spluttered Mahado. Not fully expecting her majesty to change the subject. (Wh-when did you decide this would be... a-a go-good time to discuss mine and Mana's private affairs, princess?!)

Jaden sent the spluttering and less than dignified, at the moment, dark magician a withering deadpanned sideways look.

'Mahado, unlike you, my love life is... At the moment nonexistent and I'm planning to keep it that way. The day I fall smitten for a dark, drop-dead gorgeously handsome stranger. Will be the day that Marik where's a frilly pink ball gown.' She declared with finality, barely holding back a choked laugh.

Jaden had to lean over the railing stifling her laughter at the last thought before glancing sideways at Mahado. Who only gave her a blank stare in return.

Meanwhile in Haou's soul room ~

Meanwhile within the millennium Clock, Haou looked up from destroying one of the bricks that made up her large tomb like labyrinth in her soul room. Golden demonic eyes flashing momentarily with grief and anguish. The black haired spirit went back to her previous task and brought her fist down on the block of stone, reducing it to ashes.

For a moment Jaden's past life stared blankly up at the seemingly never ending ceiling before cackling like a mad queen ready to commit execution. She had wondered what was so funny before receiving the end of the conversation and an image of the Yami psychopath in a pink frilly ball gown.

"Hahaha! Oh goodness to hell... hahahaha... It seems like I'll have to play matchmaker now...hahahaha... Messing with my bloody reincarnations love life is so going to be worth my time!" Haou told herself trying to regain her breath. knowing from what memories she had, she'd never back down from a challenge. Especially when it involved someone's love life.

Shaking her head, the spirit stood, wiped the dust from her black red lined kimono and walked over towards a door with an image of the eye of chorus Horus. It was one of the only doors that wasn't a mental trap or dead end. Pushing the slightly heavy door open. She walked inside before it closed behind her with a bang. Four lit torches were station in each corner of the room.

Haou walked towards the opposite wall. Where two different images depicting two boys in varying poses stood. Time seemingly had not touched the images and though there was a thin layer of dust to indicate that time had indeed past. They seemingly hadn't been affected.

The two images had the two boys dressed in different clothing with a different colored spear like staff in their possession.

However these boys weren't normal. And Haou new it just by a glance.

The portrait to the right depicted a black haired young man wearing blood red armor, golden accents. A red crown adorned the boys head, the crown coming to a point. The center holding a round onyx stone.

The boy was crouched, his hands gripping a black polished staff with a spear shaped crystal at the end. From its center it pulsed with a blood red color and faded into black, signifying power and fear. It seemed to worn off any unwanted enemies and to stay away, less they be brutally killed.

At least that's how Haou felt whenever looking at this particular image of the spear.

Then there were the boys narrowed dangerous eyes.

'I have the same eyes as the two boys.' Thought Haou. One of her hands reaching out and tentatively stroking the edge of the Stone picture. 'Is this a coincidence... ? Or could this be a part of my past...' The black haired spirit snorted.'Yeah right, maybe this is someone from my past? These pictures are giving me more questions than answers!'

She moved her hand down to the image below the second one.

The boys hair going from a dark brown to black halfway down his back. It was tied in a ponytail and thrown over his left shoulder. With her daemonic gold eyes as well. His posture was cool and relaxed. As if he was willing to listen.

He had on white robes outlined in teal at the sleeves, bottom and collar. A thin see-through vail adorned his head. The front having a single tear shaped red ruby. The vail attached by the woven teal circlet holding the veil back from the boys face.

His weight leaned against a white staff, the spear shaped crystal going from teal to red.

Haou didn't know why these images were here, but for the past few days she had been coming back to this room more often then any of the others; that weren't traps. Whenever she looked at the portraits her hart twisted painfully with unimaginable grief and rage. If she had to describe it another way she would put it as... a deep Sadness and... blood lust.

'They don't have any corrupted shadow magic tide to them... no something else is tied to these images... But what...? Or could it be not something, but someone... multiple people?' Haou wondered. 'And... What about my dreams... fuck... I still can't remember them...'

She let out a frustrated snarl, her fist making contact with the stone floor. That now had a spiderweb crack beneath her fist. She took in a few shaky breaths feeling frustrated tears filling at the corners of her eyes.

Haou closed them, hot wet tears falling on to the dusty stone floor. A choked sob escaped her lips soon after and the floodgates opened as she sobbed uncontrollably.

Whether it was minutes, hours, days or another thousand years she didn't know nor cared. This was far worse than having all of her memories taken. Haou didn't have the full details of what her father's reincarnation might have gone through while trapped within the millennium puzzle, but she did have the basics from the few times that she had peaked into her reincarnations memories.

"Even so... " She whispered to herself. "There was something that... made me not want to tell them anything." Haou whispered to herself. Remembering her resigned state before telling the pharaoh, furball and her reincarnation the information that she thought the gods had allowed her to say.

'Its not like I wanted to put my host in danger. I should be the one finishing whatever I started not... Her!' Haou thought angrily. 'I just know there's something from my past that makes me want to see my enemies... Whoever they are, blood... I just can't figure out what! They're not letting me see what me and Papa had in common!'

"I hate it!" She whispered anger lacing her voice. "I damn well hate having my memories... I hate having something important forgotten from mine and papa's lives! And I hate not knowing how I got trapped in this hunk of worthless, useless piece of fucking shit in the first place! I hate everything about this stupid partial amnesia!"

To be frank, Haou wished she didn't have what memories were granted to her by the gods. This was practically torture! She could only hear their voices and not their faces or bodies. Only a black outline of them and there was the very heavy feeling that she was forgetting something very important. It had to do with not only her life, but Heba's as well.

'There's definitely something extremely important that the gods aren't letting me remember!' Haou bit down hard on her lower lip, until she tasted blood. The sweet metallic liquid coded her mouth as she tried to hold back another sob.

But just then, she felt warm arms surround her from behind and a mail voice that she didn't recognized whisper. "What's wrong my midnight star..."

She jumped, demonic gold eyes snapping open. Haou leapt to her feet, spinning around simultaneously her black kimono flaring out before settling down.

'Who in the name of Ra was that!' Her head and gaze snapped from left to right taking in the familiar stone room.

'There!' She thought. Her eyes zeroing on a rapidly fading black-dark purple outline of a young man. She rushed forward just as the figure vanished through the stone door.

She snarled, rushing towards the closed stone door and pulling it open. "Grr! Damn the gods!"

'I might despise the gods, but I'm not stupid enough to curse their guts. When I'm already cursed enough as it is.' She thought after a moment. Wincing when she remembered that two of the three main Egyptian gods were in close proximity since her host had them in her possession at this moment.

A grimace was soon present on her face. Her shadow magic flaring out around her body as it levitated her up in the air. Flying forwards she searched the surrounding area. Paying no attention to the slowly closing stone door behind her. For at that moment, as an unseen force began to scratch out faintly glowing Egyptian runes below the four pictures of the girls in teal colored kimono's. The images flickered momentarily into one certain image before returning to normal. The unknown writer still scratching away at the stone below.

Haou was unfazed by most things, the shadows, her imprisonment and the chunks of memories that she had... Correction the gods had let her keep were nothing new. At least for the most part, the first wasn't anything new. However her deadly labyrinth of a tomb and her partial amnesia were debatable. But having an uninvited... Someone in her soul room was something to be cautious of.

"Where are you..." The black haired spirit wondered scanning her surroundings one more time. "And why the hell make your presents known now, of all times!"

As far as Haou knew, the figure had either disappeared or was hiding in her temple. That was very dangerous, even for her and she'd only been exploring for the past two days. From what the black haired spirit managed to peace together during her two days of actual consciousness in her new prison. She wasn't all that safe in the millennium clock, let alone some mysterious intruder. But Haou wasn't an idiot, she knew when to be cautious... Most of the time.

Having a thoughtful expression on her face. She placed her pointer finger against her chin. Caulking her head to the side, demonic gold eyes narrowing.

"I'm still pissed off at the gods..." She began. As a slow smile, that looked more malicious than happy, rose onto her face. "So... Why not destroy a few doors in the process. I might find something worthwhile."

Shadow magic began to gather itself more around her hands. Haou sent out a barrage of blasts sending wave after wave of shadow magic. Towards any and all areas of her soul room one after the other. Her feelings having overrated any and all caution or since. She let out one final blast that sent chunks of stone and debris flying. Haou panted heavily, not meaning to use that much shadow magic. While the tomb like labyrinth began to repair itself, she floated back down onto the ground and began to walk in the general direction of where she thought the intruder was.

"I'll find the missing pieces to my past, even if i lose my sanity." She said. Golden demonic eyes filling with desperation and a fleeting hope.

Back on the cruise ship~

Unaware of what was happening within the confines of her millennium item. Jaden had decided to save what dignity her and Mahado had left. And change the subject. She looked up at the sky momentarily, admiring the blue Sky and a few seagulls flying bye.

'Hmm... Let's see...' She snapped her fingers an idea popping into her head. 'Oh I know. Hopefully this will save both of us from utter awkwardness.'

'You know what I can't believe?' Jaden began an exasperated look now adorning her pale features.

Wary of the change of topic Mahado cautiously asked. (I don't know... Please enlighten me.)

'Gladly, what I can't believe is Seto getting the powerful to weakest God wrong. I'm not surprised, though it is going to get old after a while.' She observed with a bit of annoyance. 'Plus, I think setos Pride is still bruised from battle city. When dad defeated him at his own tournament and on national TV no less.' She added.

Mahado chuckled, his lips curling up into a smile of relief. (I see...I can only imagine what the gods must be thinking at this moment.)

Jaden bit back a snort, imagining obelisk laughing his head off while Slifer grumbled about being the lowest ranking God. When it was clearly, Ra, himself and obelisk in that order.

Jaden grinned a mischievous glint in her chocolate brown eyes. 'Obelisk, would be laughing his Head off and no doubt gloating, Slifer would be grumbling and Ra would be... Most likely giving a displeased look.'

(While grumbling about how insulting all of it was.) added Mahado

'Touché.' Agreed the brunette staring out over the railing at the ocean. For a while the two watched the rippling water and the suns gold-White light dance on the oceans surface. A seabreeze ruffled Jaden's hair, the part that was invisible to everyone, but her and her deck flowing out behind her. The breeze was warm and gentle, caressing her skin. Making the brunette feel content and happy.

Snapping her eyes open five minutes later. Jaden stiffened, her eyes glimmering with ecstatic anticipation.

'Come on, Mahado,' Urged the brunette. Eagerly turning away from the railing and beginning to weave in and out of the students. Who were milling about outside on the ships deck. 'I want to see if we can find Syrus, Bastian or Blondie. If I can find someone to duel me. Then I might just get my artistic talent back from my artist block.'

Shaking his head fondly, the spellcaster floated after his princess. Shooting death glares at any boys, which were plenty that looked at his card mistress.

Oblivious to Mahado's Attempts at killing every single mail on the ship with just one look. Jaden continued running looking this way and that. Her eyes flickering from one duelist to the next. She skittered around a corner and saw a black spiky haired teen in an obelisk blue uniform with two others. From her vantage point she could see that they had someone cornered.

Her eyes narrowed, briefly flashing their daemonic gold color. Like her dad, she despised bullies and these kids were no exception. Her fists clenched in anger, as she marched over towards the group. Not caring if she got hurt in the process. As the brunette got closer she saw that it was Syrus, soaking wet and holding a slightly wet, but mostly dry card in both of his hands. His light blue hair was for the most part flat falling around his face and dripping wet.

Syrus was wondering if Chazz, for that was what one of the other obelisk blues called the black haired teen, was going to beat him to a pulp or steal his only card.

The blue haired, gray eyed teen had fallen into the water earlier that day just before the cruise ship left and everyone got their assigned rooms for the trip. He had been minding his own business not bothering anyone. When out of nowhere the trio had walked up behind him and eventually cornered him here.

The short teen cringed feeling a bruise on his chest, this bruise didn't come from any of the students on board the ship it came from a family member. Just as syrus was about to except his fate, and the fact that he would have even more bruises on his body. A familiar voice had cut in to his dark thoughts.

"Hey Sy, these idiots giving you trouble?" Jaden asked shoving one of the teens, who was wearing glasses aside.

"No," he replied quickly. "it's none of your business."

Syrus didn't want Jaden to get involved in his problems. It was everyone for himself. That was the lesson that he had to learn the hard way when his brother...

'NO!' Syrus thought angrily. Hatred filling his mind. Remembering what happened 8 years ago. 'He isn't my brother! It's Zane, someone that I have absolutely no relation to.'

Jaden unaware of her new friends inner thoughts replied with. "Come on, syrus i'm not about to leave you alone. And it's very much my business, did they try to steal your cards? Because if they did, then i'll duel all of these dweeb brains, to get it back."

The spiky haired obelisk behind her scoffed. Jaden turned around placing her self between the three obelisk blues and Syrus, ready to call upon Pie, Yubel or Haou for help. Correction, maybe not the two spirits living inside the millennium items, rather just her cat. Having a demonic spirit, who'd also happened to be her past life in ancient kemet appear in front of you...wouldn't... Be good on anyone's subconsciousness.

Beside her unseen by the other three teens, except for syrus. Mahado placed his staff behind his back and cracked his knuckles. Mentally thanking the gods for her dark magicians over protectiveness. Jaden continued glaring at the three teens in front of her. Unaware that her smaller friend could see the spell caster that had been an uncle figure throughout the past five years that her daddy had been absent.

'They aren't going to do anything to you... They aren't going to do anything to you... ' Jaden chanted in her mind.

Even though these three boys weren't going to do anything to her, she was still on edge. Her trust issues with the male population wasn't going away for a long time coming.

The obelisk student standing in the middle of the trio smirked looking down at her with a nasty glare. "We didn't steal this wimps deck, he fell in the Ocean and lost his entire deck except for that one card held in his hand."

"Yeah," agreed the teen with glasses. " he's such a klutz, I wouldn't be surprised if he was put in Slifer."

Mahado tensed, glancing from side to side. He knew an outburst was coming, but that wasn't why he was suddenly on high alert. Someone was watching them and the scent of shadow magic was beginning to make it's self known to the spell caster. Shadow magic had a particular sent to it so did it's corrupted counterpart. And currently he was smelling the corrupted shadow magic.

Whipping his head around, Mahado saw the shadows move from an upper part of the ship. (Who would dare make their presence known?) Mahado wondered sensing malicious intent behind this corrupted shadow mail user. (At least I managed to find out his gender and that is malicious intent was towards my princess, but that doesn't help me. I don't even know what he wants... but if it should involve harming my queens and pharaohs I shall have the pleasure of personally sending him to his Majesty to be dealt with.) He growled. glaring dangerously up at the spot where he'd last sensed the corrupted shadow user.

Meanwhile Jaden was once more having her yami train of thought take over. "Say it to my face bastard! Let's see how long you'll last then!"

Chazz's eyes narrowed as he leaned down and hissed. "leave this to me Taiyou, this kids all talk and no bite." He said glancing briefly at the teen to his right.

Returning his attention to Jaden. Chazz asked his next question. The last two words having a mocking tone. "Do you want to Duel me Slifer slacker...?"

"Is that a challenge?!" Jaden asked dark chocolate brown briefly changing into demonic gold.

The black haired obelisk boy had a condescending tone and air about him as he answered. "I guess it is, but you won't be able to stand up to me. Your entry exam win was just a stroke of luck and do you even know who you're talking to? Soon to be Slifer."

Syrus turned his head around following the two duelists argument. The air around them was getting tense and... The strange black haired spirit that was beginning to appear and the dark magician spirit floating beside his friend, wasn't helping.

'Oh Great, now I'm seeing ghosts again! Can this day get any worse? First it was at the entry exam and now here? I was hoping this curse of mine wouldn't make it self known when I went to DA. Guess I was wrong.' The gray eyed teen thought somberly. Beginning to feel depressed again.

Haou silently appeared next to Mahado, having finished releasing out her bottled up emotions and searching for her intruder. Her soul room could fix it self. After all, it was practically a mental death trap in the shape of a tomb. She wasn't too worried, at least she wasn't worried that her strange visitor would be making a come back in the foreseeable future.

"What's going on here?" She asked Mahado having had made the decision of blocking her link with the others when they were still on the mainland. So she hadn't any idea of what was going on at the moment, prior to hearing over the pairs earlier conversation.

Mahado cocked his head to the side. Silently telling the princesses former life to watch the interaction before them. Haou blinked, not sure what the dark magician was getting at before figuring it out minutes later. The black haired spirit turned her attention then on to the argument, temporarily opening the link to the black tiny furball and asking her to come over.

'Hoi, tiny furball mind coming over here, I think the princess could use some help.'

Within the confines of Jaden's bedroom pie had seated herself on the bed having made a few guesses and theories on the poem before her. She was currently washing her side, deciding to take a five minute break, when she received the link.

Looking up the cat responded with. 'What are you going on about? And what has my mistress gotten herself into this time?'

Pie soon felt annoyance and irritation Rolling off the other side of the link. 'I don't freaking well no furball!'

The feline straightened sitting up as if she was in a court room being judged for a crime.'Excuse me! Will you stop calling me those ridiculous nicknames!' She demanded reflexively hissing out loud. Her claws extending and accidentally digging into the bed.

Ignoring pies demands, like any other sane person would do in her opinion. Haou watched as the argument further escalated. 'Listen just get over here I think she's about to cause an even bigger sandstorm. That is if I'm not mistaken, her Yami side is growing at a pretty fast pace...wow... She's really pissed...' Observed Haou, smiling.

'Five years and she still hasn't managed to control that temper of hers. honestly!' Pie huffed, retracting her claws and leaping from the bed. The black feline made her way towards the door and followed in the general direction of where the link was strongest.

Yubel, unnoticed by the black cat, began to follow the quickly disappearing form of pie. An unreadable expression on her face. She slowly walked forward. Her paws never touching the ground. Yubel was see-through, a spirit, one who had knowledge, but not in a way everyone else including her longest known friend thought.

Yes, the important and crucial memories of Heba were blocked off. But so were the memory's of how they both died... What precisely her and Haou had sacrificed. To the spirit, it was just as big of a mystery as to her knowledge on what was to become of the small black cat.

'Indeed things are never what they seem to be. I only wish I knew more...'

The two cats weren't there for show, they too had a burden to carry. They just didn't know how great or to what extent it held.

Shaking her head, Yubel bolted forward. Her longer strides allowing her to catch up with pie.

'Whatever the price for our deaths, how we met. I know me and Haou will always be together. We shall help our reincarnations find the queen.' Yubel thought. A burst of determination filling her chest. But as she caught up with pie another thought occurred. 'However... I do wonder, why did Haou hesitate in the beginning of our argument. From my memories and understanding she'd never done that... Ever in the face of... What exactly?'

Once that final thought crossed the felines mind she abruptly stopped in her tracks. Gasping out for air. 'I can't breathe! Why can I move my body?! It feels like I'm being paralyzed... my mind... I can't...ahhh!'

There unseen by the naked eye was Yubel, frozen in place. Her expression one of indescribable pain. It felt like 1000 needles were pricking at her skin while lightning coursed through her veins instead of blood. However, the pain inflicted onto her spiritual existence that was her indeed nothing compared to the weight that seemed to be pushing down on her chest or the choking sensation around her throat. Resigned to the inevitable after an eternity of struggling. Yubel gasped out for air Once more before the sweet sensation of unconsciousness claimed her mind. Returning her soul to her item.

While her soul receded into her soul room. Yubel was unaware of shimmering hieroglyphs appearing on the golden surface before vanishing as if never there. Pie too, none the wiser.

Chazz gave his best unimpressed look. However, he was growing wary of something... He just couldn't place what that something was. During a certain point during the argument, he had felt a chill run down his spine. As if there was a dark presents or something equally ridiculous in the surrounding area.

It felt familiar but...

Jaden meanwhile blew out a puff of air having decided that she couldn't blow a fuse at every Slifer insult while at DA. Still it would get aggravating and aside from that she was growing increasingly worried. Verbal fights were all right, but if this got physical... She'd just have to dodge the blows aimed mainly at her chest area. Unfortunately that's where most people liked to start out, the other half of the fist fighting population, mainly bullies, loved to go for the face.

Stealing her nerves for the fifth time during the argument she snapped back. "Listen here buddy! I could beat you easily fair and square, anytime, anywhere. I won without cheating, even though I had a disadvantage with a strong monster. "

"I've had about enough of your crap!" She hissed, her hands on her hips.

Chazz huffed in annoyance. "Oh yeah? Well for your information, I've had just about enough of seeing your ugly face, slacker!"

Jaden inwardly flinched, but intensified her glare. "Oh? Well then, let me answer your last question a-hole- "

Mahado looked on stunned, he hadn't anticipated for her majesty to use such language. Haou on the other hand was fighting hard not to snort.

Turning to the spell Caster she stated. "What more did you expect? Don't forget that she cursed a bit..."

Mahado shot her a look

"OK a lot during her exam. But seriously, her dads are both light and darkness. What more would you expect from their child?"

Mahado nodded a melancholic expression crossing his face. (I see your point young one.) Haou shoot him a dirty look. (Still, more often than not I see the queen shining through her... It... Startles me, for lack of a better term. Whenever I see her darker side slip through the cracks.)

The mood had turned melancholic after that. The black haired spirit decided to take this opportunity and tell the spellcaster of her recent actions with the black cat. While Jaden's continued on with her sentence unaware of Haou and Mahado's conversation.

The short brunette was more focused on giving this sorry black haired prick a piece of her mind.

"-from my point of view what I'm seeing is a rich snob with his sorry lackeys!"

The argument had continued on. As Ryoko talked to Alexis and the two cats made their way towards the seen. Mahado was aware of the second situation via the black haired spirit briefing him in on the telepathic conversation. Now the spellcaster could only watch, like the others present. As the verbal fighting came to a point.

"I bet you're little Dark Magician was just a counterfeiter!"

'A counterfeit! A fucking counterfeit! Daddy's dark magicians Key is not a counterfeit!' Jaden fumed.

Jaden made certain her shadow magic was at least not visible to the naked eye. allowing it to swirl and hum around her like a storm. Her jaw clenched, her mind focused on keeping her magic invisible, but fighting the urge she felt to ask the shadows to be more sanction. It would drain her significantly and she'd need to eat soon after, she knew. But still, it was a very tempting thought especially in her current state of mind.

'Whether you would've approved or not daddy this is for the Motou honor!'

Unfortunately or fortunately Jaden failed to notice the brief flicker of wariness and tension in Chezz's black eyes. The spiky black haired teen was indeed wary. This was the first time out of his own experience that he had felt something similar to his own strange abilities.

'Is the slacker cursed like I am?' He wondered not taking his eyes off of the brunette. Chazz didn't realize how focused he was on the shorter boy. Until a scream like no other ripped from the smaller's throat and broke him out of his partial trance.

"THAT'S IT YOU'ER DEAD! BLOODY FUCKING RA DEAD!"

Ryoko hoped Jaden wasn't about to do something stupid. Then again, her cousin was easily provoked especially when it came... To the two spell casters and her partner duel monster.

The blonde had been going at a reasonable pace, not having the hovering wheelchair at it's maximum speed on the cruise ship. She didn't want any accidents to happen. To add to her precaution there were students, the staff in charge of the ship and its passengers on the decks. In her opinion Ryoko didn't want her father or herself to get in trouble or have him do extra paperwork on her behalf. All because she was speeding towards the general direction of where her cousins screams were coming from.

Alexis meanwhile was keeping up with the lighter blonde. She only needed to jog at a reasonable pace. Though she did have to push herself, not going into a full sprint or run just yet. As the dirty blonde haired girl looked down briefly she saw a black cat with a strange gold caller around its neck.

A vague flicker of recognition crossed her hazel eyes. "Hey, isn't that Jaden's cat?" She asked taking a gulp of air.

Briefly glancing down the 16-year-old smiled slightly.

"pie!" She called. The black cat turned her head, still moving. As were the two girls.

Letting out a brief meow the four legged feline increased her pace turning a corner. The girls hot on the felines trail.

"Your assumption was correct Alexis, that is jaden's cat."

Alexis merely nodded. She figured the two duelists already knew one another pretty well and were most likely friends. So Alexis didn't question it on how Ryoko knew the cat- 'pies,' she corrected name. Soon enough the pear had caught up to the feline moments later.

"I hate it when I'm right!" Ryoko lowly hissed to herself.

There in her peripheral vision was the dark magician, in all of his intimidating dark purple armored-robed glory. Alongside the spell caster was Haou, the spirit looking too happy for the young kaiba's liking. But that wasn't all her light blue eyes picked up on.

And no, it wasn't Jaden's shadow magic which was out of control. Nor the faint tingling sensation of yet to be unlocked shadow magic she gathered from the spiky haired teen. It was instead the look in the blue-nets gray eyes. The shorter teen, even shorter than Jaden. She noted, wasn't staring at the two teens tensely having a glaring match. Rather it was the two spirits standing behind Jaden and to the side.

'Does Syrus have the ability to see spirits?' Wondered Ryoko. Her natural instincts buzzing with curiosity.

"Ryoko how should we approach this?" Asked Alexis snapping the blonde out of her thoughts.

The dirty blonde haired, hazel eyed teen didn't like the strange feeling she was getting from Jaden. It felt so strange, almost evil. Yet, it felt more tense, as if ready to lash out. She took a step back not liking the aura surrounding the obviously ticked off teen. Alexis knew she was scared. Her instincts told her to trust Ryoko, but Jaden?

Then again she could be judging the shorter teen too quickly? Alexis wasn't sure, she hasn't properly met Jaden. But Ryoko was here ready to help her friend and hadn't she trusted the older teen after a conversation just a few minutes ago?

Ever since Atticus, Alexis hadn't been that willing to get close to people let alone make friends. Especially with her mothers perspective on certain couples. And if Jaden in actuality was a danger, then what would her mother say? What would she do? Would she try to ruin Jaden's reputation if she did befriend the brunette?

Alexis didn't want that. Even if Jaden had something strange going on with him.

Alexis gritted her teeth, she had to keep a good Front. Making friends with someone influential like Ryoko was good but... What about regular friends? Earlier she was truly concerned for the 16-year-old's well-being. However if her mother found out. Then she'd have to find a way to get on Ryoko's good graces in order to have access to at least one of her devices. Then her mother could easily and swiftly hack into the kaiba Corps main frame and do whatever damage her mother thought necessary.

Her mother, Alexis knew was not a good parent. She was not abusive or at least from what she could tell her mother wasn't abusive.

Her upbringing and that of Atticus disappearance had only made her carefully concealed mask begin to crack. She had to make her mother proud, if she didn't, then where would she go?

'I like boys not girls I'm not a freak. I like boys not girls I'm not a freak.' Alexis chanted. Repeating the last words her mother ever said to her in person before sending her off to the docks in one of their limos.

Clueless of the obelisk girls thoughts. Ryoko's attention reluctantly shifted. The lighter blonde haired teen placed her hand on her chin. caulking her head to the side, examining the peculiar situation.

Ryoko flipped through the days events like a book, discarding her two visions. They were both unpleasant and they were on a completely different subject.

This situation involved getting her cousin to calm down while simultaneously breaking up a tent standstill between the two opposite parties. Flipping back to a certain part during her day Ryoko kaiba gave a brief victorious smirk.

"Hmm, 'you won't know a person's true colors until you duel them,' thanks uncle Yami." She whispered. Making certain it would only be herself and simultaneously pie that would here the last few words.

She couldn't allow anyone outside of their small circle of, herself, the feline and their respective decks to know of her connections to the king of games husband. Who was currently holding and defending the title with the fierceness of her father's blue eyes.

Thinking of her father brought up memories of the other members in this strange, peculiar family she was adopted into. Her thoughts strayed passed through her honorary uncles, aunts and godfathers. Coming to a stop at her mother and cousin. 'Right, let's put my plan into action.'

There was mother, he'd gotten into physical fights to not only help his friends, but to help those weaker than himself. She could see him, honey brown eyes holding an unwavering fire of determination ready to take on any large threat that came his way.

Then there was Jaden, who appeared happy, but her eyes showing the faintest hint of wariness.

Ryoko knew Jaden only got into verbal fights and risk getting into a physical one for a good reason. There was always a reason behind her cousins actions. Especially if it risked her getting physical with the male Side of the spectrum.

"I've got a plan," she stated turning to Alexis whom looked as if she'd gotten out of a trance moments ago.

"Ok." said Alexis taking a step back.

Ryoko narrowed her eyes, her gaze flickering to Jaden's invisible shadow magic, to the non and yet to be unlock magic users. 'This may be a ridiculous hypothesis, but Alexis, Syrus and another obelisk student seem to have a possible connection to the shadows.'

Shaking her head, Ryoko turned her attention onto the female Obelisk. Noticing the younger girl readying herself to take another step back. Ryoko swiftly grabbed her arm before Alexis could take a step back and bolt out of the situation. The blonde grimaced, still having a firm hold on the younger teens arm.

Flickering her gaze from the girls eyes to her cousin. Ryoko felt herself growing weary. Alexis most likely had felt the shadow magic and figured it was evil. The shadows around her short cousin were in fact not evil. Merely tense, ready to strike out a moments notice. Though the light blue eyed girl wondered how her cousin would explain that to the other two teens on either side of her cousins wanted target.

'Alexis is scared of the shadows.' Ryoko thought matter-of-factly. 'She wasn't raised like Jaden was for her entire life and myself for these past years. This might only help a little, but better something than nothing.'

Letting go of Alexis arm, Ryoko placed her hands on her lap. Waiting approximately one minute and 35 seconds she calmed. Alexis hadn't run off. The dirty blonde haired girl was still here and if Alexis was still present. Then she could continue with her slight change of plans.

"You're afraid of what you're sensing from my friend." She stated rather than asked.

Alexis looked at Ryoko stunned. She hadn't expected for the lighter blonde to say that. She straightened her posture, forcing herself to take a step forward ready to deny the statement. But the wheelchair bound duelist held up a hand. Her features and tone holding room for no arguments.

Listen Alexis," She began firmly, but quickly. "i know the signs, my friend has some strange, and to most outsiders scary abilities. But Jadens abilities aren't dangerous. They're only dangerous if used incorrectly. Jaden isn't a bad dualist. I certainly wouldn't be around someone dangerous, neither would pie."

At this the cat looked up and gave a happy meow. "See?" Chuckled the light blue eyed girl picking up the cat. Alexis gave the cat a brief smile before turning her attention back on Ryoko.

"Besides, pie here helped Jaden when he had a panic attack during his exam. Do you honestly think someone with evil intentions could properly perform a panic attack on the spot?" She scoffed. A brief smile adorning her lips. "Hardly."

She turned her Head away having had the cat sitting atop her briefcase while moving forward. Alexis stared bewildered, Ryoko really did care for others even if she showed it in unusual ways.

Frowning Alexis took a step forward not looking up from the ground. '... Maybe she's right. That still doesn't mean I trust myself to not stab her in the back when the opportunity presents itself. But maybe I can See what Ryoko's plan is?'

With uncertainty of her actions and that of her mother's demands of her ringing in her head. Alexis lifted her head and slowly began to make her way forward.

There in between Jaden and surprisingly Chazz was Ryoko a blank expression on her pale features. Pie sitting on top of silver briefcase.

"All right you imbeciles, enough!" She heard the other girl cry out. Forcibly shoving the two back. Jaden stumbling back a few steps nearly bumping into another shorter teen she hadn't noticed before.

Jaden stumbled back, her cousins appearance having startled her. Quickly sending a shadow wisp of gratitude towards Ryoko, she relaxed. Ryoko had touched her shoulder and not her chest unlike what she did to the stuck-up shit head. Forcing herself to fully calm down. She now ordered the shadows to retreat from where they came and listen to her cousin.

"I have a proposition for the both of you."

"And what would that be Kaiba?" Demanded Chazz.

She gave him a dry scathing look before continuing. Her voice holding an edge of danger. "Before I was so rudely interrupted, I was going to suggest that we solve our issues in a tag team double duel."

"Who'd be the teams?" Asked Raizou

She smirked, gesturing to Jaden before doing the same to Alexis and Chazz. "Yuki and me versus Alexis and yourself Princeton." She raised an eyebrow, giving him a challenging look which Chazz returned, to her surprise.

"Hmm, I don't see why not." Said Chazz accepting the challenge. Turning to Alexis he asked. "Are you in?"

Hesitating for only a moment, Alexis nodded showing she excepted the arrangement. She remembered Ryoko mentioning something about a double duel earlier. Was this her plan all along? Alexis wasn't certain, but if a duel could help settle everyone's differences and get to know one another. Then maybe this would help after all.

Nodding, Ryoko clasped her hands together stating. "We'll meet in an hour on the third deck."

With that said Alexis watched as did everyone else. As Ryoko practically pushed Jaden in front of her an annoyed, exasperated look crossing the blondes features. She chuckled, noticing pie nearly getting squished in between the two duelists as they passed by. Presumably heading towards their own rooms.

The pool for the story will be posted today May 9 and the last day to vote will be May 31.

Here are the titles and a quick summary of what will be in these stories.

(1). The Prince of shadow games intervention.

Essentially the whole shadow riders arc in GX will begin earlier in the school year. Jaden is a boy while Zane the girl. The Essentially another gender bend story, except Jaden and Camula have a bit of a history. And Jaden saves Syrus from crazy vampire lady and things go down hill from there. Also jaden being Yugi and Yamis biological son? Yes. Jaden having lived a previous life in ancient Egypt? Yes. Will an important character be kidnapped from the Yu-Gi-Oh gang prior to the GX? Yes.

(2). A guardian dualist: Kaiser versus the sacred beasts

In this one Jaden is… Abused by his parents. Seto, Yugi and Yami receive a dream from the gods essentially seeing what condition Jaden is in. Then some time passes by before Jaden meets up with the trio and receives a strange a deck and a puzzle. Which a few years later it fully releases a spirit traped inside. Whom like Yami doesn't remember anything is a Yami himself and the only thing he remembers is his mission to stop an evil threat from arising. Essentially the spirit is none other then Zane. So… Yep another Zane-X-Jaden story! Don't judge my shipping preferences and this is a YAOI story… Or should I say series. Deal with IT! Oh did I forget to mention that like this story and the one above someone will be kidnapped and unlike the story above Jaden adopted.

(3). Lost songs of Kemet: volume I: beginnings
