Epilogue

Ranger POV:

I looked up when there was a knock on my open office door. I smiled softly and let my eyes roam appreciatively. "Ric," she smiled.

"Babe."

She shut the door and walked to sit on the edge of my desk, crossing her legs and handing me the paperwork I needed. I let my eyes roam over her; today was her day off, so her clothes weren't her normal clothes.

Instead, she wore a tight blue jean skirt that stopped halfway up her thigh, a tight blue V-neck shirt, and a pair of combat boots. Her hair was tied up in a loose bun, letting a few curls fall and frame her face.

"Eyes up." She smiled, touching the bottom of my chin with her finger. I drug my eyes up and smiled lazily at her.

"How am I supposed to focus on anything when you come in here flaunting those long legs?" I asked. She rolled her eyes at me.

"Hmm, should I expect you home late tonight?" she asked.

I nodded and sighed. "Since Tank is gone, I've got a lot of paperwork to do."

"Do you want my help?"

"You're supposed to have the day off." I told her, letting my hands rest on her thighs. I couldn't help myself; I hadn't touched her since three o'clock this morning. I was feeling a little touch starved, just being away from her for a couple hours.

She put her hands under mine, linking our fingers, her thumbs stroking over the back of my hands. "I can help a little bit," she insisted.

I shook my head. "I can handle it. I'll be home around six thirty," I told her. She nodded.

She stood and leaned down to cup my cheeks, kissing me softly. "I'll see you at home," she said against my lips.

"See you athome, Babe," I said, giving her one last peck on the lips. I watched her saunter out of the office, hips swaying as she walked. I shook my head cursing Tank; the man was like my brother, but he picked a horrible time for a vacation. He knew full well he was leaving me with a lot of the year end paperwork.

I sat through the rest of the day taking care of the paperwork. I left the office at six and called Steph. "Do you want me to pick up dinner?" I asked her.

"I was just going to order in, but you can," she responded. I heard water slosh in the background and smiled.

"Are you in the tub, Babe?"

"And if I am?" she purred.

"You're a tease." I groaned.

"I'll see you when you get home."

She laughed softly. "I love you."

"I love you too, Babe."

I stopped and got Shorty's for us, smiling with the thought that I had brought her over to the dark side, as she put it. She was preferring Shorty's over Pino's now, unless she was craving a meatball sub.

When I got home, Draco was waiting at the door. I grinned and scratched under his chin. Steph came jogging down the stairs wearing a pair of sweats and one of my shirts. She took the pizza from me and kissed me before walking into the kitchen. I watched as her hips swayed before I followed her.

I found her eating over the sink, pizza in one hand and the other under it so she could catch anything that fell. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her waist, nuzzling her neck.

"Ric." She giggled.

"Babe." I grinned, nipping her neck.

"Is that all you think about?" she asked, her tone aggravated, although I knew she was playing.

"When you're in my clothes? Yes, this is all I think about." I growled. She pressed her ass back into my hips.

"Then I might have to wear them more often," she purred coyly.

I grabbed her hips tightly, pulling her back against me to grind slowly into her. "You tease."

"I guess you'll just have to teach me a lesson," she whispered, her voice husky with want.

I picked her up and tossed her over my shoulder. She squealed as my hand came down on her ass. "I guess I will."

"The pizza is going to get cold," she said, whipping her hair back.

"We'll heat it back up."

"You're a brute," she muttered.

"And you love it." I said climbing the stairs.

"I do." She sighed happily.

XXXXXX

I found Steph in the back yard with Draco, tossing his disc. I settled on one of the outside chairs. I smiled watching the two of them; they had a wonderful bond, they had been through so much together.

Steph grinned over her shoulder at me, and I couldn't believe how lucky I was. I remembered how we used to hate each other. I thought about the road we traveled to get here. It had been a long and rocky road, but we were here.

"What're you smiling about?" she asked, walking over. Draco jumped onto my lap and licked my face. Steph laughed as she plopped down next to me.

"Just thinking about us."

She wrapped her arm around me and after I wiped my face off, I kissed her softly. "What about us?"

"Just how good we are together. How lucky I am."

She smiled softly at me. "Of course, what man wouldn't be lucky to be with me?"

I let out a bark of laughter. "I love you, Steph. I really do."

"I love you, too, Ric," she purred before pulling me down for another kiss.

"So, what do you want to do tonight?" I asked her.

"I don't know," she murmured, running her fingers through my hair absentmindedly.

"We could go dancing," I suggested.

"Hmmm, maybe tonight we can just stay home, and I can remind you of how lucky you are?" she purred, straddling me. As she leaned down to kiss me Draco barked, demanding attention.

I laughed softly and pecked her on the lips. "Sounds like a wonderful idea but I think our little one feels like we're not paying enough attention to him."

She grinned and kissed me again. "Let's go spend some time with him. Then we can get to the demonstration."

I laughed softly. I never knew what to expect from Steph, she always kept me guessing. I loved it, I loved her, and I knew she would be the woman I would spend the rest of my life with.

And so it ends. I hoped you enjoyed reading it. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone.
