Chapter 16
(Spirit World)
Naruto, Korra and Jinora opened their eyes and looked around, where they saw that they were in what looked like a field, with large lily pads growing from the ground.
"Whoa! So this is the Spirit World, huh? It's awesome" Naruto said with a grin, as he looked around at all the different Spirits that were nearby.
Jinora smiled, as she looked at one of the flowers in the field and just as she was about to touch it, it turned into what looked like a butterfly and started to fly away, causing the teen Airbender to follow after the spirit.
"Hold on, we need to be careful of Dark Spirits!" Korra yelled, as she ran after the teen Airbender.
"Korra is right, Jinora. We shouldn't separate!" Naruto yelled, as he tried to use his Airbending to enhance his speed, so that he could catch up, but found that nothing happened, as he ran after the two. "What?" he asked, as he raised an eyebrow, before stopping and looking at his hands in surprise, while the others ran ahead.
"Hey! Back off!" Korra was heard yelling after a few moments.
Hearing this, Naruto ran after them and soon, he saw Korra and Jinora. More specifically, he saw Korra confronting what looked like a bunch of meerkat Prairie dog Spirits, who were now attacking her by flying into her, before smashing into her and turning into purple goo.
"Korra, you need to calm down. Your energy is affecting them!" Jinora yelled, realizing what was going on.
Korra tried to calm down, but it was no use, as the ground below them turned into a sinkhole, causing the three to start to sink.
"What's going on? Why can't I bend?" Naruto yelled, as he tried to use his bending to get himself out of the sinkhole, but nothing happened.
"We're only here as Spirits, so we can't bend," Jinora explained, as they all continued to sink.
Soon, they fell through the ground itself and found themselves underwater.
After looking around for a few moments, Naruto spotted what looked like a giant Catgator Spirit swimming towards them, its jaws wide open, ready to eat them.
Seeing this, Naruto instinctively grabbed Jinora and held her close, as they were all eaten by the Spirit, before it transformed into a whirlpool, which soon separated Korra from Naruto and Jinora, sending them into different directions.
(Sometime later with Naruto)
Jinora groaned, as she woke up, where she noticed that she was in the passed out Naruto's arms.
This resulted in Jinora's face going atomic red.
"Ugh, where are we?" Naruto asked, as he too woke up and looked around, after sitting up.
"I-I-I don't know" Jinora said, as she struggled to compose herself.
"It looks like we're separated from Korra," Naruto said with a frown, as he looked around, seeing that they were just outside what looked like a forest.
Jinora frowned at this, as she too looked around at the forest. But after a moment, she saw what looked like Dragonfly Bunny Spirit approaching them.
"Furry Foot?" Jinora asked the giant Spirit, as it flew over to them.
The spirit smiled at this, as it landed in front of Jinora.
"Wait, that's Furry Foot? But he was so small before" Naruto said, as he looked at the Spirit in surprise.
"I think that some Spirits look different when they visit our world through other ways, besides the Spirit Portals," Jinora said, as she pet the spirit on the head
"Do you think that your friend can help us find the Spirit Portals?" Naruto asked, as he looked at the Airbender and the spirit.
Furry Foot's ears perked up at this, before he turned around and started gesturing to his back with his head.
"I think he wants us to get on his back," Jinora said, as she smiled at the Spirit, before she claimed onto the Spirit's back.
"Well, if you think that we can trust him, then I'll trust your judgment," Naruto said, as he joined Jinora on the Spirit's back.
Jinora blushed a bit at this, as Naruto placed his arms around her, as he sat down behind her, before she quickly composed herself. "L-lets go Furry Foot, yip yip!" she yelled without thinking.
This caused the Spirit to tilt its head to the side in confusion.
"It means, let's go," Naruto said with a chuckle, as Jinora blushed in embarrassment at her mistake.
The Spirit nodded at this, before it took off flying into the sky.
"I hope that Korra's okay," Jinora said, as they both held on, as the Spirit flew them through the forest.
"Korra should be fine. I have faith in her" Naruto said with a firm tone.
"Is that why you saved me and not her?" Jinora asked curiously.
"Eh? Well, you're not as used to going on adventures as Korra is, so I guess I prioritized you, seeing as you're obviously important to me too" Naruto said, as he thought to himself a bit.
Jinora nodded at this, as she focused on where Furry Foot was flying them. "He cares about me!" she thought happily, as they flew through the forest.
Soon, Furry Foot landed in what looked like a large building, which was upside down on top of a giant tree in the middle of the forest.
"What's this place?" Naruto asked, as he looked around the building, surprised that such a building was in a forest.
"Wow, Wan Shi Tong's Library. I could stay here forever" Jinora said, as she quickly jumped off Furry Foot and looked around the building, which had shelves filled with various books and scrolls.
"The last person who said that is still here" a voice said, which echoed a bit.
"Who's there? Show yourself!" Naruto said, as he quickly got in front of Jinora, just in case they were attacked.
They heard a flapping sound above them, before what looked like a giant owl landed in front of them.
"Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things" Jinora said, her eyes widening at seeing the Spirit.
Indeed. Now who are you? Why are you in my library? Wan Shi Tong asked, as he towered over them.
"We are here looking for information -" Naruto was saying, before being cut off
"Humans are no longer welcome here" Wan Shi Tong said.
"But you said that the last human who was here is still here," Jinora said, as she stepped forward a bit.
"Indeed he is," Wan Shi Tong said, as he turned his head a bit, which caused the two humans to look at where he was looking and see what looked like a human skeleton wearing some desert robes and surrounded by books and scrolls.
"Professor Zei," Jinora said in shock.
"It would appear that you have some knowledge of the past. So you should know that humans are no longer allowed in my library. Now get out" Wan Shi Tong said, as he lowered his face down to them, which caused Furry Foot to fly away and hide behind a nearby pillar.
"I thought that anyone could come in, if they bought you new knowledge" Jinora said, as she turned to look at the Spirit.
"Those are the old rules. Besides, what is a little girl going to teach Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things" Wan Shi Tong said with a small scowl.
"Well for one, she's technically a teen," Naruto said with an annoyed tone, as this Spirit's attitude was getting annoying.
"Ah, human wit. It still hasn't evolved since I have seen humans last...and why is your hair yellow? Is this some human sickness?" Wan Shi Tong said with an annoyed tone, as he turned his gaze to Naruto, before tilting his head to the side, after getting a good look at Naruto.
"It's called blonde hair, and it's common where I'm from" Naruto said with a roll of his eyes.
"Well, since you've been down in the Spirit World, the humans have invented radio" Jinora said as she changed the subject
"Yes, I am well aware of the radio" Wan Shi Tong said as he turned his gaze back to Jinora
"But do you know how it works?" Jinora asked curiously
"Of course I do. There is a box and inside the box there is a there is a tiny man who sings and plays musical instruments" Wan Shi Tong said
Jinora had a deadpan look at this. "Actually, when we speak our voices produce sound waves. Radio takes those sound waves and converts them into electromagnetic energy that is transmitted through the spectrum -" she was saying, before being cut off.
"I think he gets the point, Jinora" Naruto said, as he saw that Wan Shi Tong was having trouble keeping up.
"…..it would seem that my information gatherers have been slacking," Wan Shi Tong said, as he turned his gaze to some small foxes nearby, who all hid behind some pillars.
"So can we use the library?" Jinora asked hopefully.
"Humans are not allowed in my library. And even if you have some knowledge, I can get it on my own eventually. Now leave" Wan Shi Tong said with a firm tone, as he turned around and started to leave.
"Look bird brain, we need help and this could affect both your world and ours. So cut the cra-mppph!" Naruto was saying with an annoyed tone, before Jinora covered his mouth with her hand.
"Look, I am the granddaughter of Avatar Aang. I promise we won't abuse any of the knowledge we find here" Jinora said, as she kept her hand over Naruto's mouth.
This caused the owl Spirit to pause in his retreat.
"You are Avatar Aang's granddaughter?" Wan Shi Tong asked, as he turned his head to look at the two humans.
"Yes I am. You can trust me and my fellow Airbender" Jinora said, as she bowed her head, before she lightly kicked Naruto's leg with her foot.
Naruto winced slightly at this, before he too bowed his head in respect. "I am so glad that Kurama isn't seeing me do this" he thought, as he knew that his friend wouldn't let him live this down, if he knew he was sucking up to a snobby Spirit like Wan Shi Tong.
"…..very well. Enjoy the library" Wan Shi Tong said, as he held out his wing to emphasize the shelves of literature, before he walked off.
"I don't trust that guy," Naruto said, as he watched the Spirit leave.
"He's letting us look at his library, so just try to show him some respect, while we are here," Jinora said, as she approached a nearby shelf.
"True, but it could be to get us to lower our guard," Naruto said, as he approached another shelf.
"Look, let's just try to find some information on the Spirit Portals," Jinora said, as she started to look through the shelves.
After she said this, they heard some barking nearby, causing them to look to the side and see one of the foxes, who was looking at them.
"Do you know where we can find the information we want?" Naruto asked, as he approached the fox and got on one knee, so he could look the fox in the eye.
The fox barked at this, before he turned around and ran towards a nearby doorway, before he turned to look back at them and barked again.
"I think he wants us to follow him," Jinora said, as she smiled at this.
"Well, it's better than looking around blind" Naruto said with a shrug as he stood up, before they both followed the fox.
The fox soon led them to what could possibly be the oldest part of the library, as it looked like the shelves and its content was very old and covered in dust and mold.
"That owl needs to hire a maid," Naruto said, as he looked around a bit.
Jinora ignored this, as she approached a shelf and after browsing for a few moments, she took a book off the shelf and started to read it.
"Any luck?" Naruto asked, as he approached Jinora.
"Actually, yes. According to this, if both of the Spirit Portals are opened, then Vaatu will be able to be freed" Jinora said, as she frowned at what she had just learned.
"We need to find Korra right away then, before she finds the Spirit Portal" Naruto said, as he scowled a bit.
"I'm afraid that won't be happening," a familiar voice behind them said.
Naruto and Jinora quickly turned around and saw Unalaq, along with Wan Shi Tong blocking their way out.
"I should have figured you would be in the Spirit World to try and stop us" Naruto said with a sneer, as he cursed the fact he couldn't bend now.
"Why would you work with Unalaq?" Jinora asked Wan Shi Tong, as Naruto and her took a ready stance, even if they couldn't bend.
"Unalaq actually cares about the Spirit World, unlike the Avatar" Wan Shi Tong said with a firm tone.
"You do realise that if Vaatu is released, he'll destroy both the Spirit and human Worlds" Naruto said, as his eyes narrowed.
"The world can't have true balance, without both light and dark. Even you should know that" Unalaq said, as he approached them with his hands behind his back.
"I am not going to let you - ahhh!" Jinora was saying, before she was grabbed from behind by Furry Foot, who was now corrupted.
"Jinora!" Naruto yelled at seeing this, but before he could attempt to try and do something, he too was grabbed from behind by Kurama's tails, before he slammed him against the wall.
"Naruto!" Jinora yelled in a panic, as she tried in vain to get loose from Furry Foot's grip.
Naruto groaned in pain, before he passed out, as Kurama and Unalaq approached him.
(Sometime later)
Naruto groaned, as he woke up and after a few moments, he looked around and saw that he was bound by spirit water whips along with Jinora and they were both near an old looking tree that was surrounded by rocks. He also saw a pillar of light on one side of the tree and what looked like a small dark dome on the other side.
"Ah, you are awake" Unalaq said, as he approached Naruto and Jinora, as both the corrupted Kurama and Furry Foot appeared behind them and grabbed them, so they couldn't escape.
"Yea, but I'm starting to wish that I wasn't, so I wouldn't have to look at your ugly mug" Naruto said, as he glared at Unalaq.
"This will be over soon, as long as Korra doesn't do anything foolish" Unalaq said, as he turned around to look, as he saw what looked like a giant Dragon Bird Spirit, which flew over and landed near the opened Spirit Portal, before Korra jumped off the Spirit's back and approached the opened Portal.
"I wouldn't do that. Not if you want your boyfriend and Tenzin's daughter to survive" Unalaq said, as he announced his presence, getting Korra's attention.
"Ah, Raava. It's been far too long since we last saw each other" a loud deep voice said, causing Naruto to look at the tree and saw that a large Spirit that was red and black was in a hole in the tree, with what looked like a barrier keeping it imprisoned.
"And I thought that Kurama when he was an asshole looked bad," Naruto thought to himself.
"If you hurt them, I swear I'll -" Korra was yelling, before she was cut off.
"If you wish for me to not corrupt them completely, I would open up the other Spirit Portal" Unalaq said with a firm tone as he glared at Korra.
"And what's to stop you from doing it to us anyway, asshole?" Naruto asked with a scowl.
Unalaq's eyes narrowed at this, before he started to corrupt Naruto a bit.
"Gaaah!" Naruto yelled out in pain, as he felt his very soul start to be corrupted.
"Naruto!" Korra and Jinora yelled at seeing this.
Soon Unalaq stopped, causing Naruto to slump over, panting in pain.
"Now, if you wish for me to not fully corrupt them both, you will open the Portal" Unalaq said, as he looked at Korra.
"Don't do it, Korra!" Jinora yelled, before she winced slightly in pain, as she slowly started to become corrupted.
Korra hesitated at this, as she knew she couldn't attack at all, as she didn't have her bending, before she clenched her fists and looked at the closed Portal and started to approach it.
"K-korra, d-don't" Naruto said with a wince at seeing this, while Unalaq smirked.
Korra ignored this, as she approached the Portal and touched it and after a few moments, the crystal cracked open and a bright light shot up out of it, just like the Southern Portal.
Seeing this, Unalaq quickly stopped corrupting Naruto and Jinora and started to attack Korra with his bending, sending water whips at her.
"It was foolish to come here without using the Portal" Unalaq said, as he attacked Korra, who could only dodge his attacks, as she made her way towards her uncle to attack him, even without her bending.
Seeing this, the corrupted Kurama ran at Korra, while carrying Naruto with one of his tails and swiped at her with his claws, making the Avatar backflip away to avoid the swipe.
"Damn it. Hey, snap out of it Kurama!" Korra yelled, as she glared at the corrupted kitsune.
Kurama growled as he glared at Korra, obviously not willing to listen to her.
"So, this is the great nine tailed fox? A puppet of a human, who is ready to help him corrupt his best friend?!" Korra yelled, as she pointed at Naruto, who was groaning in pain, as he hung above them in Kurama's tail.
Hearing this, Kurama looked up at Naruto and after a few moments, his eyes flashed back to normal for a few moments, before he started to yell, as he shook his head.
"What is going on? Attack the Avatar!" Unalaq yelled out, as Kurama started to run around and drag his head onto the dirt a bit, before he started to slam his head into Vaatu's tree repeatedly.
"This Spirit is strong" Vaatu said with an annoyed tone at seeing this
"What's it gonna be, Kurama? Take orders from a deranged man or snap back to your senses?" Korra asked with a grin at seeing the Spirit start to fight back.
Kurama growled at this, before he roared loudly, setting off a massive shockwave, which sent everyone flying back, while his fur turned from black to orange.
"W-what are you?" Unalaq asked, as he struggled to his feet.
"I'm the nine tailed fox and you just PISSED ME OFF!" Kurama growled out, before he roared loudly, as his tail threw Naruto towards Korra and the Dragon Bird Spirit, before a massive amount of fire appeared, blocking the Avatar's path to the now free kitsune.
"Kurama!" Korra yelled, as she picked up Naruto and put his arm around her shoulder to carry him.
"Go! I'll hold them off! I'll try to save Tenzin's kid!" Kurama yelled, as he charged at Unalaq and Furry Foot, ready to fight them both on his own.
Korra nodded at this, as she dragged Naruto onto the Dragon Bird Spirit, before she got on and the spirit flew off, leaving the kitsune Spirit to try and hold off the enemy.
(With Tenzin)
Korra and Naruto both gasped, as they both woke up and fell to the ground.
"Korra, what happened?" Tenzin asked, as he and the rest of his family approached them.
"Are you ok kid? You look like you got into a bad fight" Bumi said, as Naruto stood up.
"You could say that," Naruto said with a wince, as he shook his head a bit.
"Where is Jinora? Why didn't she wake up?" Pema asked, as she noticed that her daughter hadn't woken up along with the others.
Korra frowned at this, before she shook her head with a frown.
"Unalaq captured her. I would have been captured too, if it wasn't for Kurama breaking free of Unalaq's corruption and giving us a chance to escape" Naruto said, as he clenched his fists in frustration.
This got looks of surprise from the others, before Tenzin hugged the crying Pema, while Ikki and Meelo both frowned, as they looked at their sister's body.
"So what's the plan now?" Kya asked with a frown.
"Now, we take the fight to my uncle," Korra said with a firm look and tone.
"And we end this" Naruto said with his own firm tone, as he nodded at his girlfriend in agreement, as he was done with this.
The two authors were relaxing in their office, when suddenly….
Meega Nala Questa! Deadpool yelled, as he barged into the office, while dressed up as Stitch
Oh great, he's dressed as his spirit animal: P.O.M said with a groan
Is he? I can't tell the difference: Kfbanime87 said with a snicker
Ha! P.O.M yelled, snorting in laughter at this, while Deadpool face planted into the floor
Hurtful! Deadpool yelled, as he stood up and stomped on the floor like a child
Oh, relax. Here, have a free movie ticket: Kfbanime87 said, as he handed him a ticket
Yay! Deadpool yelled, as he snatched the ticket, before he ran off

Hope that you all enjoyed this fanfic and that you're looking forward to the next chapter. I also hope that you're doing what you can to avoid getting this COVID by following the rules, while any and all flames are no longer welcome. Also, for some reason, if I get a PM from anyone, it wouldn't show me the number(s) on fanfiction (so if you send me a PM, and I reply to it late, that's the reason why). Let's hope that now the vaccines are all done, we can rest a bit easier.
I would also like to point out that this is the last new fanfic that me and Kfbanime87 will be writing together until we finish one, as writing too many fanfics takes up too much time.
The harem is: Will, Korra, Asami, Opal and Ru. And don't worry, we have a plan for who to have Bolin pair with (which I'm sure will leave many of you shocked). Hope that you all enjoyed this fanfic, and once I've helped Kfbanime87, I'll be updating Jinchuriki Trainer next.
