Note: Takes place after the war, Castor survived

They were running. Fast, fast, go faster. Oh god, the Mutts were right behind them. Just a little further…

Pollux heard a scream and froze. He knew that voice.

"Castor!" Gale shouted.

No. No! Not his brother!

Pollux turned around, struggling against Gale as he tried to reach his brother.

Castor screamed as the Mutts tore into him-

Pollux sat up, breathing hard. Tears were streaming down his face, and he felt like he couldn't catch his breath. Looking around the small room, Pollux was out of bed and shaking his brother awake in a second.

"Wha- Lux?" Castor sat up, confused. His confused turned to concern when he saw Pollux's tear-stained face.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, you're alright," Castor pulled his brother tight against him. Pollux gripped Castor's sleep shirt, afraid to let go.

"Nightmare?" Castor guess and Pollux nodded, sobbing hardly.

"Okay buddy, it's okay," Castor rubbed his brother's back as they leaned back on his bed. He didn't need to ask what it was about; he already knew.

Pollux had had this nightmare several time since the war ended. There were other variations where he lost his brother at different times throughout the rebellion, but Castor knew a reaction like this meant he'd just dreamt Cas died down in the tunnels.

"I'm right here pal," Castor said, "I'm right here with ya. You're safe, I'm safe. Everything's okay now."

"You died," Pollux signed miserably.

"It was a nightmare," Castor soothed, "Just a nightmare. I'm fine. We made it out of the tunnels. Both of us."

"If the Mutts had got you-" Pollux couldn't even finished without breaking down again.

"The Mutts didn't get me. I'm alive and the war is over," Castor said, his tone firm but gently. "And even if they had got me, that wouldn't have been your fault."

"My idea to go down there," Pollux signed.

"Yeah, cause it was safer than the streets would have been," Cas pointed out, "You did good pal. I'm proud of you and I'm okay."

Pollux nodded softly, but still looked distressed.

"Come on, lie down," Castor said, pulling his brother down with him so Pollux was curled against his side.

"Get some sleep buddy," Cas murmured, "I'm right here with you."
