It was a beautiful day in Kalos. Ritchie was just preparing for another Gym battle. Clemont was making lunch while Bonnie brushed Dedenne's fur. Serena was practicing for her next showcase with her Fennekin. Sparky was training with Spade, Ritchie's Magcargo. Ritchie stared at Serena for an unknown amount of time. He didn't know what it was but every time he looked over at her lately, he would get Butterfree in his stomach. That had never happened before. He had known her for a long time. They had met through their parents.

Their parents were good friends for years. Ritchie was about a year old when he met a nine month old Serena. They had been friends for years and they even kept in contact when Grace decided to move to Kalos. That's why after his Hoenn adventure, he called Serena and asked if she wanted to travel with him. Serena couldn't say yes fast enough. They were planning to meet up in Santalune City. When they met up for the first time in a long time, Serena felt an attraction to Ritchie. Ritchie's feelings didn't start until later on.

As Ritchie was staring off again, Sparky watched them from afar. Ritchie had been staring at Serena more frequently lately. It all started when Serena had lost her first showcase, Ritchie had decided to check on his old friend.

Ritchie was getting worried about Serena. She had taken the loss of her first showcase awfully hard. She didn't show up for dinner. The trainer went to find her. He went to her room first. He knocked and to his surprise, the door creaked open a bit.

He asked, "Serena?" Ritchie didn't like it. The lights were out. So he put them back on and saw that Serena was gone. He couldn't believe it. He asked Sparky, "Where'd she go...?"

Sparky sniffed the air, trying to get her scent. But it was of no use. "Pika..."

Ritchie looked at the desk and saw a note. He picked it up and it read: "Clemont, went to the hairdressers. Be back soon. ~Serena."

He raised an eyebrow, "Hairdressers?" He turned to Sparky, "C'mon, let's go find her!"

Sparky nodded, "Pika!"

The two of them ran off to find their friend. When they got to the hairdresser, they saw Serena was still waiting her turn. Ritchie breathed a sigh of relief and entered the place.

He asked, "Serena?"

Serena looked up a bit mopey and was surprised to see Ritchie there. She blushed heavily.

She stammered, "R - Ritchie? What are you doing here?"

Ritchie replied, "I came looking for you. What are you doing here?"

Serena grabbed Ritchie by the wrist gently and led him outside with her.

She stammered, "I - I was gonna get my hair cut."

Ritchie raised a brow, "But why? Is it because you lost today?" When she looked down, it confirmed it for the trainer. He admitted, "Listen, you can't cut your hair every time you lose. There are different ways of coping with a loss and one of them is talking to your friends."

Serena looked down at her feet, "But I feel like I would be a burden…"

Ritchie told her, "Never! You can always come to me, Serena." Upon hearing that, the performer blushed. So did Ritchie. He added, "You were beautiful today. I think you will be a wonderful performer."

Serena was red now, "R - really?"

Ritchie nodded, his face with a blush. Serena smiled and kissed his cheek. To that, both of them blushed. Sparky didn't say a word, he just smiled.

-End of Flashback-

Ritchie snapped out of it. He looked at the way Serena had her hair in a beautiful braid. And that wasn't the only thing beautiful about her.

Sparky asked, "Pika pika?"

Ritchie answered, "I'm okay bud. Let's try that again."

Serena came over to him and questioned, "Are you okay, Ritchie?"

Ritchie nodded, "Yeah I'm alright. Did you need help with Eevee's training?"

Serena stated, "A bit later."

Ritchie wondered, "I was wondering if you wanted to go for a walk." Serena blushed heavily as she nodded. He asked the Electric type, "Keep an eye on Spade?"

Sparky nodded. Ritchie walked over to Serena and offered his hand. Serena took it as they both walked off. Sparky chuckled. He had a feeling about those two.

Ritchie and Serena had been walking for a while. They had been talking about everything. When they finally noticed the time, the sun was starting to set.

Serena stated, "Wow, time went fast. We should head back to camp soon."

Ritchie replied, "Right but there's something I want to ask you..." Serena looked at him. He asked, "Do you want to go out with me?"

Serena was beat red now as she nodded awkwardly. Ritchie took her hand and laced their fingers. Serena couldn't believe it. She finally had a boyfriend - and it was a nice guy like Ritchie. They walked back to the camp hand in hand.

Thank you Pokémon Anime for coming into my life. So many wonderful memories had been made when I was young. The first time I heard this quote was Pokémon 4 Ever. Dad had found out the movie was playing in a movie theater in Orchard Park. Around this time, it was near my birthday. So we planned to go see the movie. When we got there, we had found out that they were giving away Celebi TCG cards. I was collecting cards at the time. And Celebi was the last card I needed for the Johto collection.

I was so happy that day. It made my day. So thank you Pokémon Anime for all of the memories. From Ash seeing Ho-oh to Infernape proving that he wasn't pathetic - it has been a wild ride.

Wishmaker1028: In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon Anime, I give you this. Sorry it took so long. No idea what I'm going to name the pairing though. Please read and review! And always think outside of the box!
