I've had this crossover on my mind for quite a while but I was unsure if I should try my hand at writing but what the hay, lets give it a chance.

I don't know how well I'll be able to catch the characters so if they're very OC, then I already warned ya! I don't know where this story will take us, I just wanna have fun.

So, I might also skip over some things or not go into depth into some stuff, but hey, you watched the show, I hope. Otherwise, you should! Go, go watch it!

The story starts right when Aang chases Momo and finds the body of Gyatso

I don't know how much attention I'll pay to comments since honestly, I'm just giving this a go on two of my favourite series but yeah, here we go.

I own neither Harry Potter or Avatar: The Last Airbender. Not gonna repeat it, just letting you know from here on out.

Chapter 1

"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world."

"Hey! Come back! Come on out, little lemur! That hungry guy won't bother you anymore."

A young boy follows a flying lemur through some ripped drapes in hope of catching it to make it his new pet. He's dressed in a yellow tunic and has curious tattoos of big arrows on his arms, feet and head.

His name is Aang and he's the avatar and the last airbender in the world.

He has travelled to the southern air temple after fleeing from the south pole together with a young waterbender, Katara and her hungry nonbending brother Sokka.

He walks forward into the cave and up to another set of curtains. As he parts them, he gasps as he sees several skeletons dressed in Fire Nation uniforms lying scattered all over.

"Firebenders! Here?" he thinks out loud. As Aang looks around he sees more scattered bodies until his eyes falls upon a single mummified figure laying the middle, dressed in airbender robes with a neckless made of wood, adorned with the symbol of airbending.

"Gyatso!" Aang cries as he falls to his knees, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Hey Aang! Found my dinner yet?" Sokka says as he enters the cave. He sees Aang on his knees sobbing. "Aang I was just joking, I wasn't really gonna eat him." He says as he tries to comfort Aang.

Putting a hand on Aang shoulder he finally takes notice of the surroundings and sees what Aang just saw.

"Oh no... Aang it's gonna be okay," Sokka tries as he grips Aang shoulder "Come on, everything will be okay. Let's get out of here."

Aang suddenly sits up, spooking Sokka who realises that Aang tattoos are glowing. "Oh oh" He gets out right before he get blasted out by gale-force winds that blast from Aang and surrounds him as he lift of the grounds.

Meanwhile Katara was studying the statues in the inner temple when the statues eyes suddenly light up, on after each other until all the statues are alight with a blue light.

"Aang!" she says as she turns and runs out of the temple to find the other.

Sokka has taken shelter against the wind behind an old wall. Katara sees him and fights against the winds to get to him. "What happened?"

"He found out firebenders killed Gyatso!" Sokka shouts back over the noise of the winds.

She peeks over the wall and sees Aang glowing "It's his avatar spirit! I'm going to try and calm him down!"

"Do it! Before he blows us off the mountain!"

As Katara get out from behind the wall she's nearly blown away as the winds have picked up and Aang floats higher and higher

"Aang!" She shouts, "I know you're upset and I know how hard it is to lose the people you love. I went through the same thing when I lost my mom." She tries her best to stand and look but gets blown back a couple of steps. "Monk Gyatso and the other airbenders may be gone", she looks up at him, "but you still have a family. Sokka and I! We're your family now!"

Sokka looks at his sister. "We are? I mean; We are!"

Aang slowly descends as the winds dies down. As he touches the ground his eyes are still glowing and his face pained. Both Karata and Sokka walk up to him.

"Katara and I aren't going to let anything happen to you. Promise." Sokka tells him gently.

As Katara takes his hand the last of the winds disappear and he stops glowing, just before he collapses into Kataras arms.

Aang looks up at them "I'm sorry".

"It's okay" Katara tells him, "It wasn't your fault".

Some time later we find Aang standing in front of the statue of Avatar Roku, looking up at it as trying to solve a puzzle as well as saying goodbye. The pains him that it might be a long time before he'll ever set foot here again.

Katara walks up next to him. "Everything is packed, are you ready to go?"

"How is Roku supposed to help me if I can't talk to him?" Aang thinks out loud.

"Maybe you'll find a way." She answers.

Sokka stops up right behind them. "Well, I'm ready to go, I'm still starving..."

They all glance at each other when they hear something behind them. They turn around expecting to see the flying lemur again, standing on its back legs in the middle of the doorway but as they turn around, they're greeted by something unexpected.

"I had no idea what he wanted to show me but bloody hell, was it you three making that ruckus earlier, nearly blowing half the mountain away?"

Our three protagonists look at each other and then back at the person speaking. The lemur is there but it's sitting on the shoulders of a boy. A boy looking around Sokkas age, though as tall as Katara. He has sun kissed skin, though not as dark as the siblings, with long black hair pulled back in a ponytail and bright green eyes. His clothed looks like airbender garb and seems close to worn out.

"Well?" He says after a minute of silence.

Sokka is the first one to react. "Who are you?!" He says, trying to put a bit of authority into his voice pointing at the newcomer with his boomerang.

"I believe I asked first" the boy counters, "and I believe that it's quite impolite to demand asnwers from someone whose home you've nearly blown half to the heavens."

This wakes up Aang. "Your home?" He takes a step forward getting into a fighting stance, "This is my home! Why are you here?!"

He stranger shakes his head and mumbles something about manners, wind and hot air.

Katara steps in front of the others trying to calm things down. "Hi!" She says trying to sound friendly "I'm sorry. We kinda had a long day after a long journey and we are exhausted, hungry and tired. I'm Katara." She smiles as the holds out her hand. "Who are you?"

A smile lights up the boy's face. "Finally, someone who has manners! Well hello Katara, it is a pleasure to meet you!" he says with an exaggerated bow, hand on the heart and one leg behind the other. "My name is Hari. He straightens up and walks over, talking her hand in his. "And it is a pleasure to meet you." He finishes, bringing her hand up, kissing her knuckles.

As he lets go Katara brings both her hand up to her chest, stuttering and blushing. "Hello Hari." She gets out. "It's v-very nice t-to meet you." She takes a deep breath and tries to calm down. "The one with the boomerang is my brother Sokka and this is out friend Aang."

"The one who's friends you stole from!" Aang says angrily.

"Stole?" the newly named Hari asks. "From who? I haven't stolen from anyone; I've lived here for 9 years and I've never seen anyone else."

"That's another thing! This is not your home! It's mine! You shouldn't be wearing those clothes; they belong to the people who lived here!" He points his staff at Hari.

"Aang, please calm down." Katara pleads, "He didn't know."

Hari slowly takes a step back but as luck will have it he steps on a dry branch, it's snapping being the flame for the tension the erupt. Aang who's already poised to strike swings his staff sending a wave of air against Hari who jumps high up into the air, into a backflip, feet upon the upper arch of the entryway before he pushes himself off the wall, over the three friends, further into the sanctum.

"Get back here!" Aang shouts angrily, running after him.

Brother and sister are left behind, looking where they both disappeared, sound of shouting and things breaking.

Finally, Sokka find his voice, "I wasn't the only one who saw that, right? He just went off like Aang."

"You're right Sokka. I think we might have found ourselves another airbender."
