It is a nice sunny day outside. A perfect day. Kate decided with a smile on her face.

And as unreal as it sounds, It was real. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the trees were swaying in the cool, summer wind. It was nice, and it was Sunday!

She smiled to herself. Nothing could go wrong on such a peaceful day.

Now she jinxed it. See, this is why we can't have good things…

While Kate Dodds was having a nice, peaceful day in the sun with books, Someone else was having a really bad day.

The sun was shining outside, and it was not hot, the birds were singing and there was a cool wind, what could be bad? Those days got families to go out in the park, spend time with each other, dine in a restaurant, and do all that fun stuff. With children.

Sure, he loved children and even had a baby sister, who he loved with all his heart. But these kids? They were loud, annoying, and general nuisances. They spent all their time doing nothing but eating and sleeping and crying and whining and- you get the idea…

His sister was different, and that is before she died because of him.

So, back to the actual topic, when families usually came into his restaurant, they asked for a bunch of different things for their kids, and the problem was, they asked for a lot of things that weren't even on the menu! Like a particularly whiny kid asked for a… Foie gras, whatever it was.

Like, once, a boy asked for something starting from b, which was the first time he heard. And, they also cried when they saw his decor, leading many parents to complain and leave bad reviews at the restaurant. Those kids usually ended up… Well, for the lack of a better word, dead. Sometimes it was old people who complained too much. Annoying.

Their remains were never found, and his 'decor' was never suspected to be real, because, let's face it. You can't just keep real human hands without rotting for 5 years. Whenever people asked if the hands were real, he would say, these have been here for the past 5 years. People then let it go, obviously thinking that it's fake since it's been here for the past 5 years and hasn't rotted yet.

Kym was having a bad day. First, her boss, who seems to hate her, asked to clean the hands protruding out of the wall, for the second time. She, honestly, did not like them so much, and her boss always made her clean the hands. They looked so real! They even felt real, like, some hands looked and felt like an old man's or sometimes, they were like a child's! Honestly, it was creepy. And, if you are disgusted just by listening to it, think how I would feel cleaning them every day!

Then, he asked her to go out on that hot, sunny day, and buy some blue and purple food coloring! Honestly, she did not know the deal with her boss and food coloring. She hated the color blue with all her being, like, why did it even exist?

And then, a particularly picky customer yelled at her, seriously, it wasn't even her fault! The food was blue (Again, she hated the color, seems like the person in front of her shared the sentiment).

So, all in all, her day had been bad, but the changes that were going to happen were going to be worse than ever.

Kate heads into a restaurant called 'Sally's Blue food', it's the only restaurant nearby, and she's too lazy to search for other ones. And she was pretty sure her friend, Kym, works here. So she might even get a discount or free food! And she is that one person who never lets go of the offer of free food pass. Hey! You can't blame her now, can you?

She goes inside and the first thing she notices is that there are hands. Lots of hands, different kinds of hands, sticking out of the wall, giving the place a creepy kind of aura, and something, like a forgotten instinct so old she nearly forgot about, screamed at her to run as far as her legs can carry her, as far away as possible from this wretched place and find shelter and-

Breathe. She told herself. She was probably panicking uselessly at the sight of hands, they weren't real, right…?

Right…?

She was probably being paranoid at the sight of hands, they probably weren't even real at all, and were just fake decorations.

And then she spotted a girl with orange highlights.

"KYM!" She called out to her friend. She did not meet her often, and we were acquaintances in high school- not friends, but she kept in contact with people who were successful or worked in restaurants or any other place which would help her.

Kym looked around and spotted a girl with identical orange highlights waving to her. She internally recoiled. This was Kate Dodds, her high school 'friend' who used her and always kept in close contact with people who went on to become owners of restaurants, huge businesses, or other such things. She was not an owner, or someone that rich. Then what exactly did she want from her then?

Percy watched with interest as he saw two girls with identical highlights meet up, laugh from joy and hug each other, or, in other words, be a general nuisance to everyone except themselves.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted his No. 1 customer, Kelli the empousa, openly looking at the girls in disgust. She was sneering at them before she remembered that she had a date. A date with Food, which was kidney today. (The food being the brain of a human, that is, he ran a monster-friendly restaurant, which served several body parts of humans, like brains, livers, intestines, lungs, etc.)

Ok, that's it. Both of those girls were going to die today, no, he didn't care that one of them was his worker, but openly chatting about their lives? 'Catching up'? He'd rather go into Tartarus again than let them stay here. He looked at the empousa who was stabbing the under of his table with a fork and her hair catching fire at random times, mist, barely just hiding it. He smirked. He had an idea now, and he was sure that Kym and the other girl who just entered his restaurant was going to hate it.

"Hey Kelli," He turned to the Servant of Hecate and started. "Do you want to work here? You would get Human remains and whatever food you want for free, you just have to serve food and buy stuff here. And yes, you can rob people, just don't make it obvious. Oh, And you'll also get paid, so, what do you say, Kelli? Oh, and did I mention free food from here?" He smiled as innocently as he could, but it was really hard to do when you were 19.

She waited before replying with the words: "I'm in."

As Kate was happily chatting and catching up with her old friend, Kym, she could not help but feel a small, nagging feeling at the back of her head, still telling her to run away as far as possible from this wretched place, and told her that this is a place where all the evils of the world belong.

She looked at the man who was talking with a girl who looked like she had her hair on fire and-

Wait a second…

A girl with her hair on fire?

Wow, she thought I am going crazy now.

As Kym was chatting with Kate, Kate ignored the strange things happening in the restaurant, like a girl whose hair occasionally lit on fire or hands protruding from the wall or the fact that one moment, the girl who was now observing them closely and not even bother to hide it from anyone, now had a bronze leg, along with a leg of a donkey.

Anyone with more brain than those two would have seen that as a sign to stop talking, stand up, run as far as possible from the place, and never go back there again.

The man who had been watching the girls with an interest disappeared in a place where Kym was never allowed to be: the room in the storage room. 'Course, she's going to deny that she wanted to go in that room (Mainly because her boss would kill her if he found out that she tried to pick the lock), but she's not going to lie, sometimes, she heard piercing screams and inhumane laughter. Screams that weren't of a human, and that's why, she was scared to go inside, She, Kym Jones was scared to see what was in there.
