AN: Hello everyone! This is my first ever fanfiction in a long time. I really want to get this first chapter out as I never thought I would be able to after years of battling depression and anxiety. Please give it a chance and tell me what you think. Warning, I am autistic and ADHD... Updates will not come as fast as you will hope but I will do my best to try and get them out as fast as I can... Chapter 1. Preparations

"Isabella, Grab your things". A scared Renee said to the now frighten teenager. She had been working on a report for her history class about the moon. The moon at been the latest gossip as of lately since NASA had reported that an asteroid was headed for our moon. There was no indication that it was a serious matter so no one was panicking over it. We were all excited about it infact. The the invent wasn't happening for another three weeks. What could possibly gotten Renee so scared, Bella thought. "Mom" Bella said slowly, "what's going on?" Renee gave Bella a desperate look, "No time to explain. Just pack your clothes, put them in the RV and then help me pack as much food as we can. Phil will be here shortly." Was her finally words before she set about packing her own clothes. Phil was a minor league baseball ball player who is a match made in heaven to one Renee Higginbotham. He was supposed to be on a visit with his twin brother Scott who was a warrant officer in the US army. He trip was to last 2 weeks but, for some

reason to Bella, it was cut short. Batting away the rising panic she set about packing her clothes. She will get answers later.

:Count down to impact 2 weeks, 6 days, 18 hours:

By time they were finished packing their clothes. Bella met her mom in the kitchen who was packing all the can goods in a crate. She turned to Bella, "Put the meat in the RVs deep freezer. The perishables in the fridge. Phill will be here any minute now and I'll explain on our way to your father." Renee said calmly. Now that the her boyfriend was close by, and most of the task was completed she didn't felt the need to rush as badly. A since of dread washed over Bella as the severity of the situation rose. Packing clothes and food? Taking the RV to Charlie? This all made no since. She rushed to pack all the food in their respected places, then went back to her room for a few more items. It seems that they will not be returning for a while. She grabbed her CD player and collection of CDs, her book collection, some photos of her childhood and with and added thought. She took her trunk with all her things from the time she was a girl scout. Once her trunk and things were in her room of the RV she spotted Phils truck pulling up into the driveway. Attached to his truck was another yet smaller RV. Followed behind him was an SUV and that was pulling a small U-Haul. As Renee was stepping out of the house. Bella was staring at the scene, a mixture of emotions running through her as she anticipates what is to come. Phil steps out the truck and head straight for Renee. A man and a women steps out the SUV. The man was a carbon copy of Phil except the hair. It was a blonde color instead of Phil's black. The women was also a blonde but the color yet it for her so well was clearly not her original hair color. She was a beautiful black women with long locs down to her waist. They followed Phil and Bella ran towards them. Renee closed the distance to Phil and wrapped her arms around him giving him a passionate kiss. Once they broke away she asked, "Phil what's going on" he let go of her and grabbed her hands. "It's complicated' he bit down on his lips nervously. " I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all but,..." He broke off and shook his head, "Scott you tell them" he looked to his brother. Scott stepped for holding the women's hand. "Hello Renee, Bella. This is my wife Phoenix. Phoenix this is my brother's wife Renee and her daughter Bella." Bella stepped forward and shook hands with her as did Renee and greetings were passed on. "As you all know, I am a captain of the US army. A week ago I got some Intel from a friend of mind in NASA that the asteroid was bigger than they anticipated it to be." A small gasp could be heard coming from Renee, she held onto Phil hands tightly. "We don't know the exact outcome of what will happen but with the size of it, they have concluded that it can't be anything good." Bella gut twisted at his words but she listen her panic resurfacing to it's fullest. "I've taken leave for a bit and my wife from her job to be with family. We want to prepare for the worst case scenario and that is to either say goodbye to one another or a possible fall out." Bella felt sick. Phil steps in at this moment. Holding a non weeping Renee he added, "that's why we asked you guys to pack the RV. We plan to head to Washington right now , hopefully to convince Charlie to come with us back to the farm. We only have less than 3 weeks to prepare. Which is more time than the average person has" While Phil and the other adults talked. Phoenix turned to Bella, "Hey , how are you holding up? I know this is alot to take it. "

She was oddly calm about the whole thing. While Bella seem to struggle with a full blown panic attack. After a moment trying to catch her breath she replied, "I... Yeah. It's alot to take in. I don't even know where to begin on how to feel about it all." Phoenix nodded in understanding. "Itll be okay" she said, "No matter what the outcome is, at least we will have family to get through it together" she gave Bella a reasurancing smile that somewhat calmed Bella and walked back to the adults. With new resolved, Bella vows to take on the whatever life's throws at them. One day at a time. ...
