Well guys I am taking a chance to go ahead and start chapter six for On the Cusp of Death. Just gonna jump right into this since I can't seem to find any good stories of my own to read right now and I don't particularly want to do any of my grading for work lol.
Ichigo couldn't help but feel like maybe he had just unintentionally caused his father to age about 30 years simply due to the fact that he now appeared to have deep worry lines creasing his face, which had only gotten worse as they got closer to this little store hidden behind several much more modern buildings. It had started as they began walking from the house to meet his father's friend, some soul reaper named Urahara Kisuke. All that aside though, Ichigo found his concern growing that maybe his father was getting a little more stressed out than he ought to be at his age, which was apparently much older than Ichigo had previously thought it would be. He even appeared to be developing a bit of a tick under his eye and he would occasionally dart his eyes around as though he were looking for some invisible enemy, which in his defense there was one very close by.
Thinking about this led Ichigo to look over to Unohana who had a very serious look upon her face as though she was one who was walking towards a battle. Her left hand kept her sheathe firmly in hand, and her thumb rested upon the tsuba, as though she was prepared to draw her blade at any second. Her right never seemed to stray far from the handle to her Zanpakuto either. Ironically enough, just like Ichigo's father, Unohana's eyes never seemed to stop looking around as though she was searching for an enemy that she just could not spot, no matter how skilled a warrior she was. He could see here searching the shadows with what to the untrained eye would appear a cursory glance, but he could tell that she was taking in every detail of what the shadows around them were hiding. Even though she herself didn't appear to be developing any nervous ticks such as his father, it was abundantly clear that she herself was gearing up for some sort of confrontation that would be quite bloody.
Between the two of them Ichigo could almost feel his own nerves starting to fray as this little shack came into sight. On the outside it appeared to be little more than an old candy store. However, even this simple fact became concerning as one looked closer at the store, for it appeared to have been made over a hundred years ago out of wood, and yet somehow it had never been renovated to appear more modern like the buildings around it. It almost seemed as though the area around this little candy shop had been the forgotten and overlooked by the society that had grown and developed around it. On the front of the store was a small porch with a roof for those who visited the shop to find some shade from the sun and elements of nature in. From this roof hung a small sign which read Urahara Shoten. Both the building and the sign appeared to have suffered from a number of years of weather and would easily lead passersby to the conclusion that the store itself was nothing more than a long-abandoned building.
Despite the appearance of this store though Ichigo could almost feel the eyes of invisible stalkers upon him as he got closer to the store, and with these eyes upon him he could feel a sense similar to what he had felt the night before when he had been hunted by the hollow. The sense of being prey for a hunter, and now he knew just how dangerous that could really be for him as he stood next to Unohana.
Ichigo's thought process had to end here though as they all made their way up onto the porch and Ichigo's father reached forward and began knocking on the door in a strange series of knocks. After a few moments he stopped and the three waited while listening for any noise from the inside of the shop.
However, it soon became clear that either no one was home, or at the least they were unwilling to come answer the door. Ichigo took a quick moment to walk over to the window of the shop and look in, taking a quick note of the closed sign in the window. What he saw gave him a quick moment of concern for the usefulness of their trip as the store was empty and covered in several cobwebs. It would have thrown Ichigo off if not for the ever-increasing feeling of being watched that Ichigo was feeling. Turning to look over his companions Ichigo noticed his father standing there with a bit more of a relaxed demeanor, while inversely Unohana appeared to be like him now looking around with a calculating look in her eye. Ichigo could see her hand slowly inching closer to her Zanpakuto, with a gleam growing in her eye.
Recognizing the gleam in her eye, Ichigo knew he would have to act before she did, or then this whole trip would have only ended in death for his father most likely. So, Ichigo turned to face his father saying, "Alright old man, if your friend cut town fearing for his own safety it would be obvious. Now why are they only staring at us like creepers hiding in the shadows?" As he spoke Ichigo waved his arm around them signifying the feeling, he and obviously Unohana both felt of eyes on them watching their every move. While he did this Ichigo noticed a small black cat on the rafters above Unohana watching him with a small amount of interest. However, right now Ichigo had bigger issues to worry about than the fact that a cat was watching him. He needed his father to get his friends out her before Unohana found a distinct lack of reason to keep his father alive.
Isshin looked over to Ichigo and responded, "Well not that it is much, if anything to go off of, but yes, I know we are being watched too. I assume Kisuke is just preparing some safety measures in case captain Unohana decides to go ahead with the kill order that has been placed on his head all these years. He is a relatively cautious man due to the fact that he has some pretty powerful enemies out to kill him. So, in his place one can never have too many tricks up his sleeve in case things get a little dicey, and he needs to defend himself."
As Ichigo was about to reply back to his father though, he noticed the door cracking open as a voice spoke up, "Well said Isshin, though even captain Unohana knows I am not a man to be taken lightly, especially for one such as she who is currently restricted so heavily."
By the time he had finished speaking the man at the door had finished fully opening the door revealing himself to those standing on the other side. He was a man of average height with shaggy blonde hair that came down in front of his face a bit, though he at least kept it out of his eyes. He wore a white and dark green attire similar in nature to the ancient garb that Unohana herself wore, while also keeping a green and white striped hat upon his head. In his right hand he kept a fan, that was currently open and held up covering the lower half of his face. It gave him an air of mystique that set Ichigo's creeper senses off in a matter of moments. The somewhat playful look within the man's eyes also caused Ichigo some concern as he knew that any man who could stand in Unohana's presence when she was not happy, and still find something humorous was not necessarily someone he wanted to take lightly any more than he wanted to take Unohana herself lightly. Especially one who only had a small fan and a cane with which to actually defend himself.
By the time Ichigo had noted all of this about the man standing in the door, the man had decided to continue with his own introduction looking at Isshin he said, "Isshin, it is good to see you still in one piece after that terrible attack at your house last night, I do hope that the construction crew I sent by are making the repairs a quick process for you and your family." Here he looked passed Isshin sliding his gaze between Unohana and Ichigo before continuing, "I must say though you keep very interesting companionship nowadays considering you should be as frowned upon as I am by those within the Gotei 13." Here he looked at Unohana with a serious look.
Before anyone could answer though, Urahara turned to Ichigo and continued by saying, "and good day to you as well young Ichigo, I know your father has probably never mentioned me before, but I want you to know I have technically been around since the time you were born, helping your knuckleheaded father here figure out how to be less of a man living from beyond the grave, and out of time. I assume since he has come with both you and captain Unohana here that certain things happened last night that previously I had not heard about." Here he looked at the group as a whole before stepping back and signaling the group to come in while sighing in what appeared to be almost annoyance, though Ichigo felt as though it was not necessarily what he truly he felt.
At first the only one to move was Ichigo's father as both Ichigo and Unohana only stared at the rather odd individual standing before them. One was staring at him with clear concern due to the rather odd nature of this stranger. The other with more than a little suspicion at the situation she found herself in, along with a little concern at the company she now found herself in.
Looking at both of them Urahara gave a light chuckle as he said "Do not be so suspicious you two, if I wanted to cause either of you harm, I would not run the risk of you running wild and destroying the inside of my shop. No, I would have done it before you even got to the porch." As he spoke though it was as though Ichigo could see a glint in his eye over the fan that covered his face; a glint that promised pain and suffering to his enemies.
Unohana just narrowed her eyes a little bit before replying, "Or, sent your little assassin friend to kill me at least." Her eyes too showed a dangerous glint as well to Ichigo, as he listened to these two make quips against each other. Though this mention of an assassin did cause Ichigo to look around surreptitiously for someone hidden within the shadows around them. However, no matter where he looked the only thing Ichigo saw was the cat lounging above Unohana, with what appeared to be a smirk upon its face, though it was staring intently at Unohana as though the cat were sizing her up.
Finally, though Ichigo and Unohana both decided to go into the shop, following Isshin as he stepped into a well-lit and unironically well stocked candy shop, despite what had appeared to be an empty store from the window. Ichigo could immediately tell that there was more to being a shinigami than simply knowing how they wield their swords to keep the balance and slay hollows. Maybe if Ichigo was lucky enough, he would be able to talk Unohana into teaching him this magic, which he felt might be very beneficial for him to know in defense of his family.
These thoughts were put on hold though as the group made it through the main room, and into a small backroom where a small table was currently taking up a large portion of the room. Sitting down the group as one the whole group looked at each other sizing up the others sitting with them for the most part, the exception being Isshin who simply sat there looking as though he would rather be anywhere else at the moment than in that room with these particular people. It was almost enough for Ichigo to chuckle at the expense of his father, but as one of the weakest people in a room with some of the strongest people in the known worlds sitting around him, he felt it might be in his best interest if he maintained his silence instead, so he might maintain his life.
This proved to be a rather wise move, as his father looked at him a moment later and vaguely signaled that he should remain silent while the other two spoke. The look in his eyes though as he made this move caused Ichigo to realize just how tenuous the situation, he and his father found themselves in truly was as he looked at both of the other occupants at the table. Both of which were eyeing the other with an ever-growing sense of impending combat in the air around them. It was almost as though neither of them even remembered that there were in fact others at the table who were only growing more nervous as the seconds started to turn into minutes and the atmosphere around the table only grew more concerning for the two mostly human occupants.
Eventually though Urahara slipped his fan down a little and proceeded to smile at the group as a whole before saying, "Well what can I do for you all today? I assume there is a reason that you all are here, especially together, and without Isshin here being in a body bag. So, let's go ahead and get to the purpose of this little reunion instead of just sizing each other up hmm." He finished by looking directly at Unohana, who stared back unflinchingly at the man.
For a moment Ichigo feared that she would just continue to stare at the man across from her, but then she gave a rather creepy smile with her eyes half lidded, before she said, "As you know Urahara san, recently the captains have had to spend some time here in the world of the living, more specifically guarding the current Jureichi which just so happens to be this town. My shift, which will last a full year, started last night after captain Ichimaru returned from his shift yesterday. Shortly after I showed up, and while I was looking for a place to stay, I got a notification of a hollow abroad in the world of the living. When I got to where the hollow was located though I found the hollow in combat with young Ichigo here, who has a massive amount of spiritual pressure and reiatsu for being a human." Here she paused to look over at Ichigo with a much warmer smile, before looking back at Urahara and continuing, "He did rather commendably for a teenage boy who has only had experience fighting against other humans prior to this. After saving him though I noted that due to his large amount of spiritual pressure, which by the way his sisters both feel as though they too have quite a bit of spiritual pressure, though theirs remains dormant for the time being; I realized that without proper training or defenses, they would all keep suffering attacks from hollows; at least until one is eventually succeeded in overcoming what little defense Ichigo has at that time and proceeds to devour the whole family.
Here Unohana paused to see if Urahara was picking up the hints she was dropping. She was pleased to note that already Urahara was looking intently at Ichigo now and she could tell that he was taking the time to feel out Ichigo's growing spiritual pressure, with more than a little concern growing on his face. It would do the man good to understand the severity of the situation they all now found themselves in.
Her pause only lasted a few moments before she continued with what she was saying, "I kindly offered to make a deal with young Ichigo here to teach him how to control his spiritual pressure and should that fail to be capable of defending himself and his family. However, I unfortunately only know how to teach someone in a very certain way, and for Ichigo to do that he first needs to get rid of that pesky soul chain that is holding him back from truly gaining his own strength. Also, before you ask no I will not transfer my own power over to him especially since I know his mother was a quincy, and what will happen if I try to give him just a little bit of my power."
Here Ichigo grew a little confused with how things were playing out. Previously it had never been suggested that Unohana could give him her powers, and what would his mother being a quincy have to do with all of this? It seemed to Ichigo that the more time he spent around Unohana, and now this new guy, the more questions he was bound to have. Yet somehow Ichigo knew he shouldn't interrupt just yet, on top of this part of him wanted to see how this whole interaction between these two would play out.
Urahara in response to Unohana's statement turned to Isshin, and frowned while saying, "You even told her about Masaki? You realize that this would typically be a death sentence for all of your children, right? Once the central 46 finds out that you have children that have powers from both a quincy, and a shinigami they will view them as threats that should be put down." Here Urahara looked over to Unohana while continuing, "You are one of the oldest and most faithful captains in the soul society, what would motivate you to train someone who you know your boss will ask you to kill if they ever discover his existence, even if it isn't you, you will still have to watch as another one of your students is killed while at the same time possibly being sentenced to death yourself, if my knowledge of how the central 46 works is still accurate."
Unohana took this moment to stare at Urahara with a very serious look in her eyes before she gave a quick response, "First I don't like the idea of any child dying simply because of who their parents are, second the kill order on the quincies has long since been revoked as they no longer have the numbers to truly put the balance in danger." Here she gave another pause as she appeared to debate quickly whether she should share another reason before deciding it may just help those at the table understand where she was coming from as she said, "Third, I despise seeing potential wasted, and believe me when I say that Ichigo has a lot of potential, maybe enough to even rival Kyoraku, Ukitake, and myself given enough time. To see that wasted, and instead become a meal for a hollow is less than appealing, especially since I have seen as much potential wasted as I have."
Urahara simply appeared to watch Unohana for a few moments appearing to look for any sort of tell that might give away alternative motivations from the woman. After a few moments Urahara sighed as he said," and when it is inevitably discovered that you have taken someone such as Ichigo under your guidance, because it will be discovered eventually, what will you do? Will you turn around and be the one to kill him, I have known you for a long time Unohana, and you have always followed orders. Hell, I know you would have happily killed me back when I was forced to flee from the soul society, even though I was only trying to save the lives of my own comrades. Comrades I might add that you knew even longer than I did. Am I just supposed to provide you a way to train him up so that you might turn around and be his executioner when you are told to do just such a thing?"
Ichigo took this moment to look at Unohana and see how she would respond to all of this. He honestly wished he could say he was surprised by all of this, but he wasn't surprised in the slightest. He had known Unohana for less than a day and he already knew she was a dangerous person, one who could easily kill him and his family. Even still learning that Unohana was willing to kill comrades was rather surprising for him, so far, he had felt like she was at least loyal to her comrades in arms.
Unohana just continued to stare at Urahara with half lidded eyes as she took a moment to respond, before she said, "I would have killed them if only to help relieve them the pain of becoming hollows after your little experiment on them. I never desired the deaths of those who I serve with, there is a reason I currently serve as the captain of squad 4, the medical division rather than squad 11 Urahara san. As for Ichigo and his sister's here I only wish to help achieve a point where he can defend himself and his sisters, I know it may be a little surprising to you, but I do not like the idea of children being defenseless when monsters roam around them that find them as tasty little morsels. In regard to you, I would like to point out that I haven't even tried to kill you or your friends yet either.
My only command at this current time is to guard the Jureichi for the next year, and if I can relieve some of the boredom that will come from my time here by training Ichigo how to defend his family, I see no reason why I shouldn't take this opportunity. Besides you have felt his spiritual pressure as well as I have, what would you suggest for the kid? He has to learn how to control his own reiatsu at some point, and it will be inevitable that he will have to learn how to defend himself as well, especially since his own father will be useless since he has no more reiatsu than a regular soul." Unohana finished up by gesturing towards Ichigo and his father with both hands.
Urahara smiled for a moment as he looked over towards Isshin for a moment, then said "We could simply give Ichigo and the girls reiatsu suppression gear, I hear the current Kenpachi wears some, why not get some for Isshin's kids. I know I could make some in a few days and as long as Ichigo is careful, he would never have to worry about the afterlife for as long as he is alive." Here he looked over to Isshin as if seeking his support in this endeavor, support which Ichigo felt his father might actually give if given the time to think it over.
It was as he realized this fact that Ichigo decided it was time for him to jump in before he lost this opportunity. Thus, he coughed quietly to both clear his throat which was slightly dry from being quiet while he listened to these two people debate his life and as a way to gather everyone's attention upon himself, then said, "While your suggestion might very well work for a time Urahara san, who is to say that I do not forget to put this device on one day, or more specifically my sisters who will not know the importance of wearing these devices, on top of this I have a feeling we are not the only ones in town who would need these, as I know I am not the only person in town who can see the souls of those who have died but have stayed here in the living world. My friend Tatsuki for example can see spirits same as me, will you be making some of this gear for her as well? Plus, what happens if these devices get damaged in an accident or just break over time? Can you guarantee these devices will always work for those of us who need them? On top of this what if later in life I have children that are spiritually aware, would you continue to just make this gear for us throughout the course of my family's time being spiritually aware?" Here Ichigo stopped to look between the other occupants at the table.
Unohana was smiling slightly as she looked at Urahara, though Ichigo felt like maybe there was a look of worry in her eyes, one he felt the others at the table might have also shared as Ichigo's own father was staring at Ichigo with more than a little bit of concern over what he said.
Urahara just looked at Ichigo with a contemplative look upon his face, even if Ichigo could see a bit of a look of acceptance starting to come over his features. He still seemed to be fighting against this whole situation though as he replied to Ichigo, "Ichigo, I know you don't know me, but I have to ask do you understand what she's asking me to do? I know you probably feel like she is offering you the opportunity to learn how to control your strength, but in reality, what she is asking me to do is kill you, and not in just some quick and painless way either. When one's soul chain is cut it means their soul is no longer connected to their living body essentially meaning they are dead. On top of that for you to avoid going to the soul society by being purified in a konso, we would need your soul chain to go through the process of devouring itself while you figured out how to access your shinigami powers."
Urahara took a moment here before continuing, "It is a process that can end in only one of two ways, the first is you manage to become a shinigami, or to become a hollow. If you fail, we will have to kill you. I know you do not know me Ichigo, but I know you, so I know you feel like you must do this for your family. The truth though is that there are other options for you in regard to all of this, your father and I could teach you how to control your spiritual pressure, and in so doing we can solve your problem without the need to bring more problems to the table. I promise you the moment her government finds out that she is training you both of you will be in quite a bit of trouble Ichigo, and they are not the type of people to allow someone who holds both quincy and shinigami powers to thrive in either the living world or the afterlife if they are strong, but not specifically committed to them."
Ichigo simply frowned at the words Urahara had spoken before responding, "I know this is probably a mistake in your eyes Urahara san, as well as to you father, but as long as we are careful, I do not see any reason why I would need to worry about any of this. Plus, I still feel as though the benefits outweigh the negatives. If you don't believe me, I would encourage you all to look at who can teach me how to control this power, because right now everyone I know who can teach me is sitting in this room right now. Two of them are apparently wanted criminals who could be taken and put to death at any point if they are ever discovered. The other one is openly offering to teach me but being denied by the other two. Which means if you all know me as well as you claim to know me, then you know my luck will lead to the worst possible outcome. Which means if I am not prepared to the best of my abilities then the outcome will be me alone taking care of the twins with no idea about how to control these powers, which by the way will be shining like a beacon for all the hollows of the world to see.
Thus, I hope you can see why I would at least like to take the opportunity to learn how to actually fight off these creatures in the very likely event that I somehow end up with no one else around to take care of us. I mean no offense to either you or your friend goat chin, but I seem to be a bit of walking bad luck charm, and often end up with lots of trouble seeking me and those around me out. It seems to me that now that I know about this world it will not be long before this becomes a very consistent issue for me and those around me." As Ichigo spoke, he felt more and more like his argument might be making some headway against both his father and Urahara, as both started to appear as though they were thinking deeply about how to refute the words they were hearing.
Unohana on the other hand found herself rather impressed once again with Ichigo, this child seemed to be almost as intelligent as any of the captains she knew as he was pointing out the logic behind his desires, while also forcing the other two to think about the worst-case scenario logically. Something she herself knew was often difficult for many people, especially in situations where their loved ones were involved, as well as those they viewed as children. In this situation she had been forced to accept the difficulty even before she had spoken to Ichigo's father this morning. Seeing Ichigo force his father to think about the benefits of him becoming her student was definitely entertaining to watch, and then watching him force Urahara to think logically about the negatives of the situation had been like putting the cherry on top of her favorite ice cream; incredibly delicious. Unohana had to actually stop herself from licking her lips as she witnessed all of this play out in front of her.
After only a few moments of silence though Urahara surprised everyone by sighing and saying, "Well unfortunately I will have to admit the validity of your concerns in this situation Ichigo, so if you and your father are ok with this, then it is not my place to stop you. I just want to know that you understand what you are signing up for, as well as you Isshin. This is not a situation that will be easy for any of us. Ichigo it also promises to be incredibly painful and life threatening to you as well. I also cannot guarantee the success of helping you awaken your shinigami powers either. It will ultimately rely upon your own will power Ichigo. If that proves to not be strong enough, then there is nothing any of us here can do to save you."
As he spoke, he stood up and said, "Well if you three will follow me I will take you to a place where we can cut off the chain, and we can just go ahead and get this unpleasant business out of the way." He immediately started to walk towards a small trap door that none of them had noticed sitting in the corner of the room. The only one who could really say this was shocking though was Ichigo as a secret trap door hidden right in front of them was something both Unohana and Isshin expected from Urahara.
Before Urahara could open the door before Unohana stopped Urahara with a quick clearing of her throat, giving her everyone's attention. "I would actually like to put of cutting his soul chain for a couple of days Urahara san. I believe it will be incredibly beneficial for Ichigo if before we cut off his soul chain, I take some time to explain a few things he should come to expect about actually being a shinigami. Especially one who just so happens to be the first in history to also have quincy blood in him, which both of us know will cause some unique issues for him as a shinigami. I believe that preparing him for the difficult times he will have will be better than leaving him in the dark here Urahara san. Besides I would also like for him to have an asauchi to help ease the transition that he will go through and will help him in searching for his soul reaper powers."
Here Unohana paused to look at Urahara before giving him a small giggle at his rather perplexed expression. It should not take long, but if I can have, let's say three days to actually get the asauchi for Ichigo, I believe we will all find Ichigo is much more prepared to receive his power than if we just go about setting him up to become a hollow; wouldn't you agree Urahara san." Unohana had a small smile upon her face, but all the occupants in the room could see a very serious look within her eyes as well as some suspicion.
Urahara smiled at Unohana while lifting his hands in a placating gesture replying to the captain again, "Very well captain Unohana, I will respect your desires for your student's education here ma'am. I will expect you three days then. However, I would like to ask that since I am helping you in this little endeavor of yours Unohana san, I would ask that you do me and mine the favor of leaving us out of any reports you feel the need to tell your associates back in the soul society please. As an added bonus I will get you not just one asauchi free of charge, but I will even throw in two more that you can use for whatever it is you desire, and you will not have to bother your subordinates with getting an asauchi for Ichigo, or with causing people to ask unnecessary questions. Does this sound like a fair deal to you Captain?" Urahara's words did little to truly alleviate any of Unohana's suspicion or the tension in the room, but it did seem to at least be acceptable to Unohana who nodded while looking with a side eye between Urahara and Ichigo as though judging the situation to her fullest ability and doublechecking her motivation.
Unohana quickly appeared to come to a conclusion as she smiled at Urahara replying, "Throw in a gigai free of charge and one small favor for an old friend and we will call this deal accomplished Urahara san. I'll explain the favor later today, but for now I will need to go ahead and head out. I believe it is time to have my first lesson with my new student." As she spoke Unohana stood up and started to walk towards the front door again, while saying almost as an afterthought, "Come Ichigo there is much you must learn in the next couple of days, I will not have my student do something foolish without being at least mildly prepared."
Seeing the discussion ending, Ichigo stood turned to Urahara, bowed to him, and said "Thank you for all of your help Urahara san, also I am sorry that I have brought this danger to your door, this was never my desire, but to defend those who are important to me I will say I do not regret this either." Then Ichigo looked over to his father before finishing, "Come on old man its time to leave, I have a lesson to attend, and you have a clinic to run." With that Ichigo turned and made his way after Unohana with a small smile of victory upon his face.
Isshin looked at his son leaving and simply sighed as he gave a quick look over to Urahara and said, "I too apologize for the danger this has caused you guys, but we could use another heavy hitter or two in our corner I think, and Unohana is honestly the perfect candidate to help us in what is going to happen Kisuke." Isshin quickly frowned before sighing and continuing, well I'll leave the planning to you passed this, I'm just cannon fodder at this time, so I will get out of your way, if you need anything just let me know Kisuke. Isshin then smiled at the black cat from earlier walking into the room and said, "You as well Yoruichi."
Isshin then stood and left the room heading back to his own house to prepare for work that day, leaving Urahara and the black cat watching him slowly leave the building.
Well guys I finally finished this chapter, and I have to say it was a doozy, I was rather caught off guard by how long this chapter took me in both word count and time. I also had a scare when I went to finish this chapter today and found that my computer had restarted before I saved my work. Talk about waking up to a minor heart attack. That aside I must say though that I really have enjoyed writing this chapter.
Now for responses to reviews
NinjaFang1331: You are not wrong on that; however, we all know Urahara is not the best at actually telling people information they do not explicitly need to know right that moment. So, who is to say Unohana will actually be told the truth? Think about his character a little bit, and I guarantee you will keep asking yourself whether he will or will not tell Unohana.
Bountyhunter 1977: I would say that Unohana would typically be one of the only people in any world that could keep Urahara in line for sure, but at the same time remember she is limited to a very small amount of her actual power, unless absolutely necessary, so Kisuke will still get up to some of his normal shenanigans. Besides who would ole' hat'n'clogs be if not for all of his mischievous behavior.
Dreadix: Thank you so much for showing this story some love, it means a lot, also I am sorry for the info dump I know it makes the story kind of rough for the beginning, but hopefully once we get by all of this, I will be able to kind of start getting into the more entertaining portions of this story.
Guest, good guess, but Isshin and Unohana are both there, which means even though he tries it doesn't necessarily work out the way he wants it too.
charles123: Sorry to get your hopes up, but Unohana is going to have to prove she can be trusted before she is told about the truth of all things.
Scarease: It's Unohana we are talking about here, so checking someone's background is kind of not a concern for her, especially considering she is far more than capable of putting down almost any threat that she might come across ever. She also knows it takes time for someone to truly gain any amount of true power in regard to their powers in the shinigami arts.
Aehopexoh: Leave the air alone, I need that to continue breathing lol.
kbnsr: You made good points, but in regard to Unohana appearing hypocritical towards Isshin, I might remind you that things change when you are the one who has been betrayed, its just a fact of the matter that everyone's opinion changes when they have been personally affected by another person's actions. Which is exactly why Unohana is currently in the world of the living again, because of Isshin's choices. She also does not know about Aizen yet, so for now it only appears to be Isshin's fault.
Alright guys I just want to say thank you all so much for all of the support that you have given this story and me by default. I know I am not the best story wise, but I am trying to make this story enjoyable for you all. So keep letting me know what you all think about the story, and what I can do to improve the story.
