84I Killed Minato, Dattebane!
Summary:
Only 5 years after Naruto's death, the Elemental Nations fall back into their violent proclivities. Kushina is distraught by her son's seemingly useless sacrifice. The Sage of the Six Paths is of like mind. He gives Naruto's mother the chance to change things for the better, not for the sake of the ninja world, but for Naruto's own. There is a catch though. She can only be returned to the day before her water breaks. What will she do?
Short A/N: Please read the preface, as it will map out the important points of this story. The chapter itself follows after the preface.
PREFACE
Naruto is a manga and anime of Japanese origin. We will observe as much Japanese culture as we can.
The most important factoid here is age. The age of consent for the nation of Japan is 12 years of age. I guess it only makes sense that the manga and anime graduate the academy students at age 12.
Uzumaki Naruto and Uzumaki Kushina are Uzumaki. Minato Namikaze, while he is a kage, was born a clanless orphan. As per Japanese culture, it is understood that clan takes precedence. Hence, Uzumaki are Uzumaki. This is understood in Japan. It is normal, and need not be spoken of. Unfortunately, Western culture does not understand this. That's why I am mentioning it.
As for the story proper, the Uzumaki were said to be stronger than the majority of other shinobi. How? I want to address this and use canon stuff to create a believable hypothesis, using canon methods, to make them strong. There will be no power ups from other fandoms such as Bleach. Fandom authors are rather fond of giving soul cutting blades to Naruto; which is non canon. I'm not gonna do that.
How strong is Uzumaki Kushina? The day before she gives birth to Naruto, she is S rank. With the Kyuubi's chakra, she surpasses Kage level. Why will she be so powerful? Because she was trained by the clan and her family before she left for Konoha. Uzumaki Mito continued her training, making her stronger. Uzumaki Kushina was the heir to Uzumaki Mito's status as Kyuubi holder. I don't think Uzumaki Mito would leave behind a weak heir, do you?
Finally, the relationship between mother and son will evolve to that of a couple as Naruto matures. Right from the beginning, Kushina will do her best to make Naruto's life a better one than his past life of useless sacrifice. This will be the pairing. No additions. Other character pairings will be present, part of the story, but not the main focus.
Chapter One
It was a hot, humid day in Konoha. The sun shone relentlessly on the Village Hidden in the Leaves, or Konohagakure, as it is known in its native tongue. Inside one of the houses in Konoha, we see a red-headed, obviously pregnant woman, her body bare for all the world to see, were it not for her being ensconced safely inside the master bedroom of the Uzumaki Clan mansion. The reason for her current nudity was the heat. The humidity itself did not lend a helping hand in mitigating the heat; rather, the humidity made the heat stick to her skin. So, she took off all her clothes, which left her in her current naked state.
For a woman with child, Uzumaki Kushina's figure did not lose her slender, toned form, that exhibited her being the strongest shinobi of Konoha. While her firm, upthrust breasts were formerly a 36 C, her pregnancy gave her one upgrade in breast size. She was now a 38 C. Anyone would be happy with a 38 C, except for her of course.
She frowned as she examined her breasts. That this second life was dedicated to Naruto's happiness. And with her being Naruto's mother, she too would obtain happiness. This was their second life. She had to make it count for Naruto.
Forgetting her nakedness, her horny disposition, and her whole environment in general, Uzumaki Kushina voluntarily entered her mind for the first time, determined to treat with a sleeping Kyuubi.
She projected the memories she recently acquired to the biju, who was pinned to a floating rock by some giant chains. The memory dump awakened Kyuubi, who eyed her with interest. She was naked, but she didn't feel threatened.
For all intents and purposes, Kyuubi was a mass of condensed chakra given intelligence. The intelligence was there so that the chakra could protect itself from being stolen. Just as the juubi was a mass of chakra with rudimentary intelligence for self-defence. Kushina concluded that her being naked was of no consequence.
Kneeling formally, in seiza, she gingerly bowed as low as her baby bump would allow her. Every bow she made, she intoned, "I am Uzumaki Kushina of the Uzumaki Clan. I am ashamed of what we have done to you and your brothers and sisters. I ask for your forgiveness."
As she repeatedly bowed and apologized, repeating her apology over and over again, she decided to put trust into what her future visions told her. She broke the chains holding Kyuubi on the floating rock.
Kyuubi snorted and slowly stood up, stretching as he rose to his full height. He jumped down from the rock and spoke rather gruffly, "Stand up, worm."
Slowly, well, as slow as a 300 foot monster could stride, he walked toward the Uzumaki woman who was standing up with her head bowed. He looked down at the puny human he could very easily crush, and he would have, had it not been for the memories of his future jailer, that this woman shared with him.
He got down on all fours, staring intently at the bulge of the woman's belly, knowing that the chosen one of the sage, his father, was going to be born the following day. Reverently, he gently rubbed a claw against the woman's belly.
In a soft and gentle tone, he spoke to the woman again. "I do not normally celebrate the births of humans. You know why", he stated rather bitterly. "But this one is different", he continued, softly again. "I will try to steady the seal while you give birth. I will also try not to kill you. I assume you have a plan?", he asked the redhead.
Once Kyuubi accepted her many, many apologies, they both began to plan. It would be less than 24 hours when her water would break. It would be less than 24 hours when that accursed Uchiha Obito would attack her directly.
True, she couldn't do much physically, but a few invisible storage seals applied on her skin, stocked with a few chakra restoration pills, to be used judiciously over her future ordeal, would save her and Naruto, and maybe one other person.
Then she would add baka Uchiha teme as a sacrifice to the Shinigami, the moment Minato summoned it, thereby allowing her to change the details of the sacrifice. She would need a stasis seal too, within which to store the still living baka teme. His sanity need not be preserved; only his soul, dattebane! Lastly, a prayer seal to the shinigami, asking for an intercession on behalf of Naruto, Kyuubi, and herself.
When she asked the sage if Minato could be saved as well, she was told in no uncertain terms that time was different in the realm of the gods. Once Minato was sealed at any point in time, the shinigami would know. She and Minato might be in the past, but he still had the 'shinigami mark', for lack of a better term. The question was, would she want to make trouble with the shinigami for her husband's soul?
She, by being alive, was already risking the shinigami's anger. Making sure that Naruto aged beyond his previous life would also add to the shinigami's anger. Saving Minato as well, would cause her to draw the shingami's wrath, thrice. She would not risk that.
Whatever feelings she had now were conflicting with her future ones. In that future, she and Minato had been separated for more than fifty years already; what with Minato residing in the belly of the shinigami.
But regardless of feelings, this second chance was all for Naruto. Minato would still end up in the shinigami's belly.
While she did feel a pang of sadness for what she was going to confine her husband to, the love she had for her unborn son overshadowed everything else. This was what was important to Kushina. Her life was now lived in dedication to her son. Thanks to the sage's assistance, and Kyuubi's positive interest, Naruto's life would be better this time around.
But the question was, how? How would she go about it?
If she decided to leave Konoha and isolate themselves, that would only place them in greater danger. She could defend herself and Naruto, especially with Kyuubi's help. But did she want to risk it?
If she stayed in Konoha, she would need to make sure that events there would be favorable to her and her son. That would mean grabbing the Hokage position, to make sure that all Konoha shinobi would get stronger. She would have to fix the mess that Hiruzen's advisors have caused to date; meaning she will have to preempt the Uchiha massacre. Appointing Uchiha Itachi as her successor would mitigate whatever Danzo has done to them.
And how could she even begin to convince Sarutobi Hiruzen to bestow the rank of kage to her? She could save Sarutobi Biwako, who was killed by baka teme Uchiha Obito. Two clones, one for a kwarimi with Biwako-oba, and another for shunshin to return Biwako-oba to the Sarutobi Compound. That would make Sarutobi-jiji owe her.
Now when baka teme arrives, she would be transported to another place outside Konoha so that Kyuubi can be extracted. This means that baka teme Obito would need to remain tangible in order to hold her. She would place a delayed drain and paralysis seal on him, then the prayer seal.
The ultimate objective would be to use baka teme as an extra sacrifice, so that when Kyuubi's chakra is re-sealed by the shinigami, the Kyuubi would be split evenly both, yin and yang chakras, and placed equally within herself and Naruto. Her son will have the Kyuubi then, with whom he can bond with when he is older. And as time passes, both Kyuubis' chakra would eventually fill up to their normal levels.
Then she would take over Konoha, with the help of Sarutobi-jiji.
She looked up to the face of Kyuubi. "I hope you will allow yourself to be split evenly this time, meaning you will have yin and yang. You will exist in me and Naruto. When we are sure that all of baka Zetsu's plans are all fucked up, we can release you and all your siblings again."
Kyuubi pondered this situation. From the memories of future Naruto, his chakra was split unevenly between yin and yang. With Kushina's proposal, he would be split evenly and be able to expand. While they would be two separate entities, this situation would be better than losing half his chakra to the shinigami.
In addition, the Uzumaki bitch promised future freedom for him and his siblings. There was no question really. With a human working to free them, they would eventually realize it; provided the bitch and her ningen didn't die. He silently nodded in agreement, "Let it be done, for me and my siblings", he replied solemnly. The bitch was an Uzumaki after all, who, in his opinion, was the strongest clan in the Elemental Nations, bar none. She, more than anyone else, would have the greatest probability of success in working for freedom of the biju.
"Deal", Kushina agreed with a sunny smile.
Kushina bowed once again, with another heart-felt apology, silently left her mind, and relaxed onto the bed. Hopefully that would take care of the situation tomorrow. If not, she would be sure to implement several back-up plans, all to ensure that Naruto survived.
Now back in her own skin, Kushina felt strong pangs of sexual desire heating her body again. Sighing in surrender, she ran her hands down her sides. While this was going on, her clone took a few chakra restoration pills and gave them to Kushina, who subsequently sealed one batch of pills on each side.
Her storage seals were positioned in such a way that she could reach them easily. Seeing as her body would be in the prone position while giving birth, her hands could easily reach her outer thighs, near her knees.
The other clone took some leaves of sealing parchment and ink, and gave them to Kushina. She created the delayed paralysis and chakra drain tandem seal. After making sure of the seal's composition, Kushina began inking in the prayer seal.
While Kushina sat beside the desk to draw the seals she would need for baka teme Obito, the two clones immediately removed the soiled sheets, blankets and pillows, leaving the mattress bare. Yes, water breaking was a messy affair, dattebane.
When everything was said and done, and Kushina felt somewhat human again with clean clothes on her skin, she sent a small chakra pulse to Minato's hiraishin seal, to alert him of an emergency. Since she never had to do that before, at all, Minato would know that it was, indeed, an emergency. Meanwhile, her two enforced shadow clones placed themselves into the best position they could, in order to carry out their plan of saving Saruto Biwako-oba.
With a deep sigh, Kushina waited for things to happen. If anything, Naruto's birth date would be moved a day forward. Since she knew that Naruto hated his date of birth, he would see this as proof of her undying love and affection, as a mother to a son; that she did everything she could to make her son's life a better one.
Since Kushina planned to give Naruto his old memories when he turned 12, Naruto would remember how much his mother loved him, for every year he celebrated his birthday, because he would be celebrating his birthday on every 9th of October, instead of October 10.
A few seconds after pulsing her chakra, Minato arrived with a very worried look in his face. His hands were even trembling. Kushina just rolled her eyes at him. He was always a softie. "Just get me to the secret place", she told Minato a little sadly. This would be the last day she would see him, after all. Then changing moods, as if she were changing clothes, ninja style, Kushina threatened Minato. "Don't jostle the baby, or I'll fucking make sure you can't sit on your ass for a week, you won't be able to perform your kage duties, 'ttebane!"
Minato, somewhat comforted by Kushina's normal behavior, gathered himself, and his nerves. He steeled himself, giving Kushina a curt nod. Gently, he carried his wife in the way the groom carries the wife into their new home.
He used hiraishin to get to the secret place he and his ANBU set up, where Kushina could give birth in peace. Awaiting them were Sarutobi Biwako-oba, and the ANBU tasked to guard her while she was giving birth.
Kushina forced herself to relax, as she checked the positions of the two clones tasked with saving Biwako-oba. Sarutobi Hiruzen-jiji, on the other hand, was in the Kage office, while Minato suffered for her... er, stood guard over them all. Everything was in place. She just had to give birth.
After some time passing, a lot actually, with Kushina cursing Minato and his ugly mug, the final push for the birthing was about to happen. Kushina surreptitiously unsealed a chakra pill, and enclosed it in her clenched fist. The other fist was causing Minato to know pain.
Finally, Naruto was born. Kushina loved him before, and she loved him even more, now. After being cleaned by Biwako-oba, she handed baby Naruto over to Minato.
That's when it happened. Baka teme Uchiha Obito with his cursed orange mask appeared, killing the ANBU in one strike. As he was about to dispose of Biwako=oba, Kushina's clones did their thing. While the henge'd clone did pop wearing Biwako-oba's face, the real Biwako was safely transported to the Sarutobi compound by the other clone. Having served her purpose, said clone dispersed, hoping to add to her true self's diminishing chakra.
Obito himself was confused with the shadow clone, but he couldn't stop to figure it out because there was a momentum to his attack. He needed to get Uzumaki Kushina away from here to extract the Kyuubi. Therefore he couldn't go into the wherefores of whys, because he couldn't afford to engage Minato in combat at this time.
Seeing as Obito was nearing her prone form, Kushina prepared herself to be moved from her current bed, out into the wilds. As soon as Obito latched onto her, he immediately moved her to a different place outside the village. Kushina swallowed a chakra pill, giving her a smidgen of chakra, enough for her to apply the two seals to Obito's skin, without him noticing. Kushina gave a satisfied grunt. Game, set, and match, baka teme.
Then everything went as they did before. When Obito managed to pull out the Kyuubi from her, Kushina swallowed another chakra pill. Taking advantage of the situation, that being baka Obito teme gloating over his success, Kushina activated the seal to incapacitate the baka teme. Kushina grunted as she waddled over to Obito's body. Grunting, she sealed the baka teme in a stasis seal.
With Obito's loss of control, Kyuubi found himself regaining his consciousness. Having planned all of this beforehand, Kyuubi acted like he was still being controlled and set about to blast Konoha. Well, he did enjoy that a little... a little too much, perhaps.
Finally the final show was going to happen. Kushina was uninjured, holding Naruto, while Minato summoned the shinigami. While his eyes were closed in concentration, there were a lot of hand signs after all, Kushina took another chakra pill to make another shadow clone. Stealthily, the clone snuck behind Minato, carrying the stasis seal. As the shingami appeared, the shadow clone released baka teme form stasis, then activated the prayer seal.
The clone's last task was to give Minato a memory seal that would enable him to acquire her and Naruto's memories, as well as the planning that she and Kyuubi had done. Minato closed his eyes in reflection and let out a great sigh. "I understand", he said gently to his wife. "Love Naruto as best as you can. Give him a better life than the one we left him with before."
With that, the shinigami, baka teme, and Minato disappeared, leaving Kushina and Naruto alone in the open field.
Kushina was crying, though she wouldn't admit it, 'ttebane. Slowly, she scooped up Naruto from the ground, lifting him up to her breasts. Not that she could feed him yet. Sarutobi jiji had yet to appear.
'Well', thought Kushina. 'In any case, plans will be placed into motion, with other plans coming into being.' She paused in her musings. 'You alright there, Kyuubi?', she asked in mind speak.
'I am fine', was the Kyuubi's reply. 'WE, are fine', he reiterated, with some emphasis on the we part. After all, there were now two Kyuubis existing simultaneously. One in the bitch Uzumaki, the other in her ningen.
With Kyuubi back inside her, the effect of the three chakra pills she imbibed, two in a span between minutes, was mitigated by her clan's vitality, and Kyuubi's healing chakra. Her ragged chakra network was also being restored by Kyuubi. Soon, in less than a day, her chakra network would be functioning normally.
All she had to do was to get Hiruzen to name her as kage, and she would take care of things from there. The Kyuubi was a great advisor and planner. He would be advising her as she ruled Konoha. She was pretty sure that Konoha's inhabitants would prefer to kiss oni, or the devil's ass, rather than learn that Kyuubi was her advisor.
She would keep the two Kyuubis a secret. All she would show is the seal on her belly. She would keep Naruto's Kyuubi 2.0 a secret from everyone.
And no matter how much it hurt to murder her own husband, 'ttebane, her whole being was directed towards Naruto's happiness. After all, this second chance was given to her for Naruto's sake, not her own. It helped Kushina to think of things that way. Maybe... 'ttebane.
Now how in hell was she gonna make up for all the dead Uchiha souls, all of whom would remain alive this time around, and avoid irritating shinigami-sama at the same time? More time to think of that later. She had, maybe 2 years, before things became critical.
Final A/N: The story will be self-explanatory. The points of view of different characters will show the authors' thought process. Skipping thoughts and narration in favor of dialogue will have you end up not understanding why the story has moved in certain directions. So again, the story explains itself. There will be no need for further notes in future chapters.
