Shirou Emiya woke up at 6 am as usual, he was on ground as usual, he tended to fall asleep while working in his shack. But there was not so usual things around him too. If he had to give an example it would be the landscape he was currently viewing, the green fields, mountains, an active volcano. This place surely was not Fuyuki. He panicked but he knew panicking would be the worst course of action for him right now. So he began to list the possibilities he could think of. He could simply be dreaming but the bug bites he got felt real so he quickly eliminated this possibility. He could also be sleep walking but he didn't remember ever seeing place like this in Japan. Him getting kidnapped made sense for a few minutes but why would they leave him on a forest? It simply didn't made any sense. So he reached his final and most likely conclusion. Magecraft. You see Shirou Emiya was a mage, well at least he tried to be a one, so he knew something like this could be pulled off by a good mage but why him? A perverted trick perhaps, possible but unlikely seeing aside from displacament everything was normal. What about an accident though. He himself had reoccuring problems with creating magic circuits out of the nerves he had on his spinal cord despite all of the practices. What if someone had decided to use him as some sorta guinea pig and messed up their spell. It could explain his current predicament. Yes it made sense. Still it wouldn't hurt to be carefull so Shirou Emiya sit down started his meditation to create a magical circuit before the morning chill was gone.
He emptied his mind. It was an important step. He had to be focused on this, slightest mistake could mean death. He then focused on inside and chose the nerves he would use for this time. He tried to alternate between nerves to not cause a permanent damage but he was rushing this time, so he used the ones felt right regardless of their last usage
He grabbed 5 of his nerves and started the process. The air around him suddenly started to get warmer. A few lizards hiding in the grass slowly got closer to this new source of heat. Not that Emiya realised that, he was too focused on the task on head. Suddenly he jerked in his place, scaring the animals nearby, he failed to turn one of the nerves and one was only half working, 3 remaining. He regained his focus and kept going. In a time frame that felt like eternity despite only being 28 minutes Shirou Emiya managed to finish his work. 3 and a half circuits. Not his best work but he had to go with what he had. Realising how much sweat he accumulated he wipe his face to his blazers sleeves which inturn showed him he went to sleep with his school clothings last night. It must have been a busy night. He didn't realise the blood stain on his chest, right above his heart.
After 3 hours of travelling and gathering apples from nearby trees to eat ,Shirou saw something he would never thought he would see. Honest to God monsters. Humanoid creatures that looked like goblins , he remebered seeing goblins in a show on TV back in Fuyuki, with a pig like face and could also smell them. Not just the dirt and unwashed skin, he could feel the mana coming from them. It was slightly disgusting, not enough to make him vomit but enough to make him close his nostrils with his fingers. Thankfully they were not as aware of he is and he managed to hid behind a big rock before they could see him. Now he needed a plan. He could sneak past them but it would be hard. Still better chances compared to fighting 4 monsters with unknown magecraft. He just needed to be carefull and
CRUNCH
Not step on a tree branch. At first he panicked, then he realised the noise didnt came from him. It was from a few meters away, near the trees. Then he saw it, someone that seemed like wearing clothes fit enough for travelling short distances and had a back pack although his clothes seemed odd, certainly not modern clothes like his own. But the pre-mentioned monsters also saw the person and with a suprisingly fast speed jumped on poor traveler. Without even realising what he is doing Shirou grabbed a long tree branch from ground, left his hiding spot and managed to swing his stick with all his might to the pig like nose of the beast. He could hear the crack that came from his newly acquired weapon, he had to rely on his magecraft. Thankfully a glance towards person he is saving proved they were on ground covering their head and trying not to cry. They were too scared to watch the fight. It made it all the more easier for Shirou.
He needed a stronger weapon than what he had. Thankfully magecraft was on his side. He activates one of the 3 circuits he currently had. His body temperature slightly rose but it wasn't as uncomfortable nor painfull as their creation process. Mana flowed through his arm and onto stick. He first used Structural Grasping on the wooden stick
A simple spell made to read properties with magecraft
He quickly diagnosed the imperfections and the damage first hits caused. He let his mana fill in the gaps, make it whole again. This was Reinforcement. Both spells he used was fairly simple and was the only spells on his reserve. But it was enough for this.
The monsters after shaking the initial suprise jumped on the newcomer. He smelt tasty but they weren't prepared for him to swing the stick in his hand with a quick succession, killing one and scaring the others. However they only got angrier. They refused to be beaten by this man. One of the monsters with a club in its hand jumped again on the prey. Seeing prey was raising their stick to block made it smile. Now the stick was gonna break and... Stick didn't break. It holded its ground against the club despite the loud cracking sound and prey, with a swift motion, stabbed the stick forwards and plunged it into the right of eye of his opponent.
His weapon reached its limit. Shirou knew that since it broke in blue splinters filled with mana while stabbing the skull of the monster. They looked like they were on fire for a second but he didn't mind too much of a glance to remains of the weapon. He instead quickly grabbed monsters club even before it fell to ground and repeated the reinforcement progress. It went easier than first try and even got better results. The one he first hit was waking up so he jumped before it could and crushed its skull. Bits and pieces spreaded over ground and him. He turned back to remaining one monster so he could
Stab
It was a weak sound but it was easy to figure out what happened. Monster was in front of him. Holding a sword. Said sword was currently halfway through his chest. He could swear he saw the monster smile. But it didn't matter. He couldn't die, not right now, not when someone is in danger. So he raised his empty left hand and grabbed monsters neck with it. Startled by unexpected, monster tried to leave, it even let go the handle of the sword. But no, Shirou simply didn't let him go and raised his club back and swung with all his might, and again, and again, until its head was a smear on ground he kept hitting. He breathed out after seeing its corpse, he tried at least, only thing came was bloody coughs. He fall on grass face first. The world was getting dark. He only had a few thoughts in his mind. Did I do good Kiritsugu? And Shirou Emiya was gone.
Authors note:
I still have to finish the botw but the way weapons broke always reminded me Shirou's tracing. See you next time. Please review.
