Shizuka POV:
I walked towards my favorite club room while humming an old rock song. I was in such a good mood that I might have just bothered to knock for once. But before I could, I heard Yuigahama and Yukinoshita's voices.
"Hikki, what are you reading?"
Hachiman sounded surprised by the question, rather than annoyed like always. That grumpy catboy must be in a good mood, I wonder why hehe…
He showed the cover to them.
"Devil May Cry: Visions of V? That's a mouthful of a title."
That's the volume I lent him! So he's interested in the greatest action games after all! I don't have time to play the newer ones, but i still got the ps2 releases laying at my place!
Yukinoshita lifted her gaze from her own book and looked at Hachiman's volume for some seconds.
"A story about looking back at life, while fighting inner and outer demons? I can see the more surrealist aspects helping novice readers get interested in deeper overtones, so it's unfair to call it a subpar read. Although I have the gut feeling that in your case it's pure escapism and limited capacities Hikigaya-kun" she smiled at him.
"Hn." Oi, tell 'em something! Are you really gonna let them trash talk peak fiction like that?!
"Sigh… look, I'm not even going to ask what that's supposed to mean. I know how obnoxious you are with your self perceived superior tastes. My capacities aren't limited , I just have no interest in catching up with your reading. 'As the air to a bird or the sea to a fish, so is contempt to the contemptible.'"
Hah! He said the cool thing! Knew he would love it!
"Oh? I appear to have made myself unclear, it's not that I don't want you to catch up with me. After all, wasn't I tasked with making a man out of you? Perhaps some more of my special attention and discussion will rile you up enough that you subvert expectations thrown at you Hiki-subpar-kun."
Oi! Back off my (future) husband, darn brats! I swear one of these days I'll go full order 66 Anakin on you! That's it! I'm taking him off the club!
"Tch. 'If the fool would persist in his folly he would become wise'-"
Before I could let him finish quoting Willam Blake, I kicked the door open, quickly dashed and gripped his shirt collar. I would have grabbed him by the tie, but he doesn't like wearing one, this wannabe delinquent!
"Sorry kids, I need to take Hachiman with me for some work! If there are no requests, you guys can go home! Bye!", I quickly said, trying my best to hide my pouty expression.
"S-sensei, wait- whoa!-" He tried to protest, but I already lifted him by his side and ran.
Special thanks to 8MexicanJaeger for helping me out so the dialogue didn't look like it was generated by two robots trying to act human.
