It was the morning after the dance and Team RWBY was just now waking up from a good night's rest. Well, most of the team was. Ruby was still thinking about her encounter with that stranger who broke into the CCT. Stretching her arms with her mind elsewhere she almost didn't notice a mysterious letter resting right next to her pillow.
"Hey guys, did any of you leave a letter next to my pillow last night? Blake, Yang, did you leave it for me this morning?" It was either placed on her pillow when she went to sleep or it was put there when she got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom.
The three gave her an odd look as they all eyed the letter with confusion, all of them shaking their heads 'no'. It was then the others noticed there was a similar letter for each of them on their beds. But that's impossible, they knew there wasn't anything there just a couple of seconds ago.
As more questions began to rise, a large flash of white light began to engulf the entire room, raising all kinds of alarms as they tried to reach for their weapons but it was ultimately too late as they're visions were blinded by a pure white glow.
Ruby groans as she is shaken awake by a panicking Yang. Upon opening her eyes, Yang lets out a large sigh of relief when she sees that her sister is awake. "Ruby, are you okay? Nothing's hurting right? How are you feeling?" Yang's bombarding questions weren't registering to Ruby as she took a single look at her surroundings.
"Ruby, answer the questions!" Yang shouts frantically, wanting an answer.
"Yes, I'm fine Yang, but…where even are we?" Yang shrugs which wasn't really reassuring but they all looked around and saw that Blake and Weiss were still out cold.
They decided that first things first, they needed to have everyone awake, then they could all clearly make sense of the situation they have been randomly put in.
The two walk over to the other girls and lightly urge them awake. Blake and Weiss seem just as out of it as Ruby was when she got up, but one good news is that they weren't separated by whatever had even brought them here in the first place.
"Where are we?" Weiss asks, rubbing her eyes. Taking a look around the room, it appeared to be some kind of at-home theater room. Why they were taken to this particular place was more than beyond them, but they weren't going to figure out a way back home by just standing around.
So, the four got to work, walking around the room, searching for something that could be the key to their escape, but the more they looked the more defeated they became. It then hit Blake and Weiss, feeling stupid that they didn't try it before. But, they then realized that the letters were left in the dorm room.
As if their thoughts were heard, a letter just magically appeared on one of the theater seats. Seeing one of the letters, their hopes were a bit shot but so far it was their only way of knowing how to possibly escape this prison.
Opening the envelope, Weiss read it aloud:
Dear Team RWBY,
My name right now isn't important and you're more worried about trying to escape my theater, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to step on their wishes of leaving as you four won't be going anywhere, to put it as bluntly as possible.
Weiss couldn't help but sneer at the letter, wanting to destroy it with her glyphs but they needed to read the rest of it so she held back the urge to. Blake was faring any better as she was glaring at the piece of paper.
Yang wanted to give this person a piece of her mind while Ruby gasped, "So we're just stuck here?"
You probably think you're gonna be stuck here as Ruby more than likely asked.
Okay, now just that one line scared the hell out of them. Either this person could read into the future or it was like this letter was being written while they were reading it.
Now, you won't be the only ones who will be a part of this situation as I will also be bringing your friends in just a few moments. In case you plan on taking out your scrolls, I advise you that your attempts to warm them are futile as you don't have your scrolls on you. They have been confiscated for the time being so none of what you will see in this room will be taken back to Remnant, this is to ensure that the main timeline isn't affected as much as it would be if you had brought back living proof of your findings.
Findings? What did this person even plan on showing them? And, the main timeline? What is that supposed to imply?
I understand all of you are more than confused about the situation, but I'd rather explain everything to you all when you're all here and present in the room.
Sincerely,
R.
As if on cue, Team JNPR landed on the ground, all unconscious, and being brought here from a golden light instead of white.
Team RWBY rushed over to help their friends, moving them all into the theater chairs, hoping they'd wake up feeling a bit more comfortable than they did, having woken up from the ground.
It was a bit until they woke up, but when they did they were just as confused and scared as they were when they arrived.
"Where are we?" Pyrrha asked, looking around the room.
"We were brought here by a person named 'R'. We were given a letter telling us that there is no way out. What we picked up from the letter we were given is that we're going to be watching something and because of that our scrolls were taken from us so we can't take any footage or proof of what we see back home," Ruby explained.
"Couple things: what are they even showing us anyway? Two: what is so important that they even took away our scrolls so we couldn't bring back proof? As you said," Nora asked.
"They told us that it's because they didn't want us messing up the main timeline too much, whatever that's supposed to mean," Yang adds.
All their expressions were very definition of not being able to understand anything of what they were just told. They could relate.
"So, what are we supposed to do now?" Ren asks, looking at the others.
"Watch the show! That's what!"
Everyone screamed as who they assumed was 'R', randomly appearing in front of them with puffs of smoke trailing behind them.
On instinct, all eight of them reached for their weapons, but quickly realized they were left back in their dorms.
"What do you want with us?" Yang asked, stepping forward, ready to fight.
"Like I said, to watch the show of course!" They reiterated with a shout.
It was then the group took in their captor's appearance. They looked and sounded like a female, she had fluffy blonde hair that stopped at her shoulders, what appeared to be a long dragon tail behind her with two horns atop her head but half of her right horn seemed to have been broken off. Her eyes were a deep hazel with freckles running over the bridge of her nose.
She wore a burnt orange hoodie, black shorts, an old, very torn, red scarf trailing behind her, and black shoes. Besides the black, it looked as if her whole color scheme was that of fire.
Even though she seemed to have the appearance of a Faunus, Blake really wanted to cover her ears from this person. "That isn't necessary, I already knew you were a Faunus," R said, putting her feet on the ground.
"How I know that isn't important right now, but besides that, I need to introduce myself. The name is Raider and I am the one that brought you here. The whole purpose of this? So you can watch yourselves and change your future!"
"Watch our future?" Weiss mimicked.
Raider nodded her head with an affirming smile. "Yep, this is so you could change what could happen, but as in the letter, not too much, there's gotta be a few things that remain canon and on track or else there would be no cause and effect that makes the future happen."
Raider understood that this is a lot to take in, especially when a random interdimensional being removes them from their own universe just to bring them to another fabricated one to watch themselves on a large screen to watch their past, present, and future in hopes of stopping some of the catastrophic that leads to some of their, literal, demises.
"So, assuming we're going to be here for a while because you won't let us leave-" Pyrrha begins.
"That is correct," Raider cuts in with a nod, making a few of them deadpan.
"What about back home, won't they know we're missing?"
"Nope! Time doesn't exist in this world, meaning time doesn't happen or move."
"Soooooo, you're saying we're essentially frozen in time?" Jaune asks.
"Yep! But don't worry, you'll all be fine. There's nothing to worry about!"
"You're literally an interdimensional being that has kidnapped us from our own world with no way out and you tell us not to worry?!" Weiss exclaims in disbelief.
"Yeah, pretty much."
Her carefree attitude was beginning to get on people's nerves, hating that she was being incredibly calm about all this.
Blake sighed, knowing they weren't going to get anywhere if they just stood around angry at their captor, so it was best to just go along with what she wanted. From the letter it said that if we did this one thing then we would be let free and we could go home.
Yang had a large unsettling feeling that whatever they were going to be shown was going to change them in more ways than one and she for one wasn't prepared for that.
It was for the best that they all go along with what Raider tells them.
"Alright, a few things before we begin, rooms. Down that hall, you have bedrooms since y'all will be here for a bit. Each room has two beds and you all will be placed in the rooms by team partners. Ruby and Weiss, Blake and Yang, Jaune and Pyrrha, and finally, Ren and Nora. You'll know which side of the room yours based on color and in those are also luxury bathrooms. On the side of the wall is a screen where you can access anything you need." Raider takes a moment of pause to look at Yang, who honestly looks offended but is more than grateful. Her hair is her pride and joy.
"Here is the main room where you will spend most of your time watching yourselves. There aren't designated seats so you can sit wherever you please. But I do have a couple of rules. Rule Number 1: please, do not make a huge mess of the place. I can easily clean it but it's a matter of having to actually clean, you all are big kids, I shouldn't have to pick up after you."
That comment felt like it was directed at some more than others, but the way she made the rule sound…it felt condescending.
"Rule Number 2: If you have something to say while watching, don't hesitate to say it. When you do though, the tv will pause for a moment so you're not talking over the tv so everyone can listen to everything. Lastly, rule number 3: We're watching TV, so I'm hoping we can all have fun here. I know you guys are stuck here for the time being but you aren't prisoners. So, with those things out of the way, let's get this show on the road!"
Floating to the back of the room, everyone awkwardly takes their seat. Blake and Yang sitting next to one, Weiss and Ruby next to each other on the first level. Pyrrha and Jaune sit side by side and Ren and Nora sit next to each other, these four taking their seats on the second level.
"To kick things off, we're going to begin with the trailers!"
