DISCLAIMER: I do not own Naruto, I never will considering my name is not Masashi Kishimoto.
Chapter 1: Early Childhood
It was a rainy day in Konohagakure, 6 years after the attack of the legendary Kyubi, a fox with 9 tails that attacked Konohagakure. The attack that had killed many Konoha shinobi and civilians, along with the death of the legendary Yondaime and the incapacitation of Kushina Uzumaki, known as the most feared kunoichi of all time. What was left was a young boy, someone who bore striking resemblance to their fallen hokage, but the blind bastards couldn't see it. Only noticing the whiskers on his face, they came to the conclusion that the boy was the reincarnation of the legendary monster that had destroyed the village. This is the story of said "monster."
A six year old Naruto Uzumaki is playing in the garden of his home, while his mother attempts to cook dinner. Naruto had been especially close with his mother, Kushina, as she was the only one who ever truly gave him love in the village, and in turn, she was the only one he would ever trust fully. The first six years of his life had been nothing short of hell. Even with the new decree of the Sandaime Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi, the villagers would consistently try to make his and his mother's life a living hell, not knowing of the latter's relationship with their late hokage. The worst of such incidents would always occur on the same day. October 10th, the day marking the anniversary of the 9 tails attack. Little did the Uzumaki family know, this would become one of the worst days in their lives.
"NARUTO, COME IN FOR DINNER!" Kushina called out to her son.
"Coming Mom!" Naruto called out. He ran into the house as fast as he could, hoping his mother would make his favorite for his birthday, ramen. Like many from his lineage, Naruto had a fixation on ramen that could be bordering on obsession. Once he got close enough, he could smell what could only be described as a paradise for him. Miso char siu ramen with Naruto fish cakes and Menma plants on the side. Naruto could only salivate at the delicious meal placed in front of him.
"Wow, this looks even better than I imagined, mom, how did you have the freaking time to make all this while nursing your injuries dattebayo?" Naruto asked.
Kushina's expression began to falter. What he didn't know was that the injuries his mother had sustained were a sore subject for her, as it would constantly remind her of the day she had gained and lost everything. Gaining a son, and losing her husband, the one person she loved most in the world. Even with that, her injuries to her chakra coils rendered her unable to use many jutsu requiring even moderate levels of chakra control. As a result, the Red Hot Habanero was forced into a premature retirement as a ninja. Despite all this, she put on a brave face for the one light she had remaining in her life, Naruto.
"Only the best for my favorite person dattebane."
"Itadakimasu!" Naruto called out as he started wolfing down his ramen.
For Kushina, it was one thing she never took for granted. Her son would always be her first priority, especially with the hatred he experiences on a daily basis. All she wished for was that her son would end up finding a few people aside from her that he could trust and truly call a friend. Unfortunately, with the stigma surrounding the kyubi, no parent would let their child anywhere near Naruto, hoping to either not get scrutinized by the village for "associating with the demon brat", or being fearful of Naruto himself. And with her being his mother, she would be part of the constant discrimination too, being referred to as "The demon spawner", "Mother from hell", and worst of all, "The Kyubi's bitch." Implying that she wasn't even in control of her own decisions and some 6 year old kid had her under some fucking genjutsu and was controling her thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Those fucking idiots, they truly don't know what exactly my husband sacrificed for this piece of shit village. Minato-kun, if you're watching right now, I seriously hope you aren't because you would hate this village as much as I do right now if you could see what they're doing to our son. Hell even I'm barely keeping it together dattebane, but I need to be strong for Naruto, or else, no one else will be. Kushina thought. It truly saddened her that the village would spit on her husband's sacrifice in the worst way possible, by making his own son the object of their hatred towards the monster that destroyed the village.
But now was not the time for feeling sorry for herself. It was her son's birthday for Kami's sake and she sure as hell wasn't going to let anyone or anything ruin it for him. She turned to Naruto.
"So son, have you finished all your homework for today?" She asked. Kushina was never the best student at the academy, but she was going to make damn sure that at least her son would have the education that she sorely lacked as a child. However, if one thing was painfully obvious, Naruto was too much like her in the sense that he HATED reading.
"Ugh, it's so boring dattebayo. I mean when would I ever use these useless facts in a fight? Am I going to defeat my enemy by boring them with a history lesson?" Naruto responded cheekily.
"Like it or not my son, all of these facts are important. It shows the younger generation what it truly means to be a shinobi of Konoha. It lists down all the things that many of our greatest heroes have done, especially the one you look up to the most, the Yondaime." Kushina responded gleaming with pride at her husband's accomplishments.
"Really Mom? Can you tell me what he was like? What could his complete awesomeness do?" Naruto asked. He was always interested in stories about the Yondaime, the man who single-handedly won the 3rd great shinobi world war for Konoha by slaughtering over 1000 Iwagakure shinobi and forcing their unconditional surrender. The man who was considered to be the fastest shinobi of all time, and the youngest person to ever be named hokage at just 21 years of age. Naruto looked up to that man. The man who had inspired many to keep fighting through just his will alone, and the man who had the undying respect of everyone within Konoha. Oh just how little he truly knew about the man he looked up to the most.
Kushina could only sit there and laugh. She had her own stories that she had always loved to tell Naruto, especially those that involved his younger days as a genin under their sensei, Jiraiya.
"Well my son, the Yondaime was someone who struck fear into the hearts of his enemies, but was also someone who believed in the fair treatment of all. It was under his rule that civilian families were allowed to send their young children to the ninja academy to train to become ninjas. It was also under the Yondaime that many of Konoha's current establishments such as Ichiraku's were able to thrive and flourish as he promoted the use of the village resources as the primary source for our own village. Hence why our economy boomed during the time of the Yondaime. The man you look up to has always tried to keep the village's best interests in mind, especially those of the younger generation, who he always believed would be the generation to lead not only Konoha, but the world to greatness." Kushina then began to blush as she recalled Minato saying those exact words on the day of Naruto's birth, showing the same belief in their son as she had even before he was born and the Kyubi was sealed within him. The last day she would ever see the man she loved more than anything. A single tear dropped from her face.
"Oh when I grow up, I wanna be just like him. Someone who is loved by the village, someone who commands respect from those around him, and someone who will lead the village out of its dark times." Naruto said proudly. His dream was always to be like the man he idolized, someone who would have the power to truly defend their home when the time came. He then noticed the tears falling down his mother's face. "Uhhh… Mom, why are you crying?" Naruto asked innocently.
"Oh it's nothing, I was just remembering something that the Yondaime told me in the past. Now come on, finish up so we can go to the festival." Despite the fact that this was the day that usually had the worst beatings given out to Naruto, the festival was a somewhat surprisingly quiet event as they could blend into the crowd and just enjoy the festival happening.
"YAY!" Naruto exclaimed excitedly. He quickly finished up his birthday ramen and went upstairs to grab a change of clothes. He came down as fast as he could and left the house with his mother.
Oh sweet Kami, please don't let anything happen today, please just let us have a normal birthday for once without angry mobs trying to come and kill my son! Kushina inwardly begged the gods above as she and Naruto left for the festival.
Meanwhile in the Hokage office:
Hiruzen Sarutobi, also known as the Sandaime hokage of Konohagakure, was sitting on the windowsill smoking his pipe. Looking down at the village, he could not help but feel a bit remorseful, especially after all that had happened within the past 6 years. It started with his successor's death at the hands of the Kyubi as he sealed it away into his own son, to which only a select few knew of the boy's heritage. Minato felt that with his enemies afoot as well as political opponents within Konoha (A certain man with bandages covering his face and entire right arm comes to mind), that Naruto would truly not be safe from the village. Even though he had passed a law regarding Naruto's status as a jinchuriki being forbidden from being spoken, hoping to give Naruto as normal of a childhood as possible, Naruto was still given a life that would make even the strongest of men puke. The extent of the injuries the young boy had faced had even shown jonin ninjas the cruel reality of this village and many of them had nightmares following witnessing such events.
Minato-kun, I am so sorry, I should have done more to protect your son. Hopefully you could forgive me when I pass into the afterlife. Hiruzen thought before he was snapped back to reality by a voice.
"Hokage-san, I have returned." The man in the mask stated.
"Ah Obito-kun. You can take off the mask now, there is no one watching." Hiruzen told the now revealed Obito Uchiha, a man thought to be dead by the rest of the Konoha population.
"First things first Hokage-sama, how's Naruto?" Obito asked. All his time away from the village had led him to believing that Hiruzen would hold his word and prevent Naruto from experiencing the same ostracization he did as a kid. As a member of the Uchiha clan, Obito was not well liked in the village because of his clan name, and he was ostracized by his own clan for not being able to awaken the prized Sharingan at a younger age. The ostracization was something Obito never wished on his worst enemy. But what he heard next would shake his fiber to the core.
"I… I'm sorry Obito-kun, but I think I have failed Minato-kun. Naruto-kun is unfortunately still receiving those glares from the villagers, but thankfully nothing has come his way to physically harm him, or so I'm told." Hiruzen answered solemnly. He had always hated that he couldn't do anything to keep Naruto safe and happy from all the glares and rumors, but with the civilian council and the Konoha elders (specifically one bandaged up monstrosity that shall not be named) constantly voting against him, he could not put many measures to stop the populous from spreading their hatred of the kid.
"I see… I can't say I'm not disappointed as this is the type of childhood I would never wish on my worst fucking enemy, but I regretfully understand. This shithole of a village doesn't trust Minato sensei's fuinjutsu skills nor do they trust Kushina-san to properly watch Naruto. And if they don't do it now, I doubt they ever will." Obito said with visible regret for leaving the village at the worst possible time. He had heard about the Kyubi attacking the village and had some ideas of who did it, but it was at the point where he himself didn't trust those with the new information to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
He thought back to his time as a genin when he had full trust in his teammates and sensei, going as far as to abandon a mission to save a comrade's life, while sacrificing his own in the process. That comrade would then betray him in the worst way possible, murdering his best friend in cold blood, just so she could have the Uchiha powers to herself, something that irked Obito to this very day.
"But enough about Naruto, how's the secret mission going?" Hiruzen asked, trying to dilute some of the tension in the air.
"The akatsuki are in the process of recruiting inner members for the group. So far we have 6 total core members including me, and they are looking to add much more." Obito replied before listing off the members. "There is Nagato Uzumaki and Konan from Amegakure, Zetsu, whom I have no clue what village he's from, Juzo Biwa from Kirigakure, Kakuzu from Takigakure, and of course Obito Uchiha from Konohagakure."
"Thank you Obito, now if possible, can you give me a rundown on their abilities so I can update the bingo book?" Hiruzen asked.
Obito then proceeded to inform all the abilities of the akatsuki members, causing Hiruzen to flinch at hearing each. He had come to the conclusion that only a handful of jonin within the village including himself could deal with even the weakest of the akatsuki. Hiruzen let out a strong sigh afterwards.
"Ugh… this is going to be troublesome." Hiruzen said.
"Is your last name Sarutobi or Nara Hokage-san?" Obito cracked up. He knew full well about the Nara's obsession with the words "drag" or "troublesome" due to their constant attitude of wanting to do jack shit in life. While their perpetual laziness irked many in the forces, particularly those of the Yamanaka or Akimichi clans, nobody could deny their genius when they decided they wanted to give a shit about something.
"Yeah yeah wiseass, now tell me when you are going to take the mantle and let me retire in peace." Hiruzen shot back.
"I'll take the title of Hokage once I deem the akatsuki threat to be no more, especially considering the kid I'm supposed to be looking after is a target of theirs. Until I can successfully remove the influence of the akatsuki, then it would be impossible for me to return. Although, I could use a partner to hopefully manage the load easier, plus with multiple spies, less attention is drawn to one, thus leaving less suspicion." Obito stated, and Hiruzen could not agree more with the logic. "Plus on the off chance one of us gets caught, the entire mission isn't jeopardized."
"Very well, I will see to it that you get a partner soon, although I will need to find a shinobi willing to do this, as there aren't many in Konoha who would accept leaving their family and going rogue forever." Hiruzen responded.
"I understand, but we are in the early stages of recruitment, following which we will start going for supplies to help fund our organization, only then will I need the partner." Obito said.
"How long do you think that'll take?"
"We should be starting in about 2 to 3 years, by then hopefully someone will be willing to take on this mission. Until then, I'll keep you posted through Jiraiya-sama, the organization can't have me being too suspicious." Obito said as turns to leave. "And remember, if something happens to Naruto, for fucks sakes if you don't try to change anything about this pathetic village who just likes to hate, so help me god if you're alive, I will personally hunt you down and all bets are off. If nothing happens, don't give me some bullshit excuse like 'Oh the council overruled my decision' because you're the fucking Hokage. If they overrule you, tell them to sit down and shut the fuck up because they are actively participating in not only child endangerment, but child abuse." Obito continued.
"I have a saying which I once told Kakashi. Those who break the rules are shit, but those who abandon their friends are worse than shit. You consider Naruto a friend right?" Hiruzen nodded. "Then your ass better not abandon him when he needs someone to help him."
"I understand Obito-kun, no need to worry. I will make sure Naruto is kept safe." Hiruzen responded with a lump forming in his throat.
"Good." And with that, Obito Uchiha left Konoha once more.
After the festival on the streets of Konoha
Naruto and Kushina had just made it to the festival without a scratch (Mainly because they stayed out of everyone's way. Surprisingly everyone was too busy enjoying the lights, food, and festivities to notice that the "Demon spawn from hell" and the "Kyubi bitch" were in attendance, thus leading to a quiet night out for both Kushina and Naruto. Using a Henge no jutsu (transformation technique), Kushina was able to snag some food for both her and Naruto at reasonable prices. Although, because of her almost completely destroyed chakra system, she could only keep up the henge for a short period of time (5 minutes max) before needing to dispel. Thus, she needed to get away before her timer ran out, to which she never got caught (sly fox fr).
All in all, with nobody really noticing their presence, Naruto and Kushina were able to enjoy the festival for the first time in their lives. For the first time ever, they could truly see the beauty of the Kyubi festival. The area was filled with portraits of Minato slaying the demon fox, a cake commemorating the attack being shaped like a Flying Raijin kunai, and even a life-sized statue of the late Konoha hero. The same hero who's legacy the village has been shitting on since the day they found out about the true fate of the Kyubi. Kushina could not help but wallow in her tears at the sight of her husband being memorialized in Konoha for two reasons. One was that she missed him dearly, and wished nothing more than for Naruto to meet his father one day, imagining their lives together.
It was truly the first time Kushina realized just how important Minato was to her and Naruto. She slowly broke down thinking about how Minato would never see Naruto enter the academy, graduate from the academy, take his first mission, come back with immense glory, find true love, get married, and one day even surpass Minato himself to become the greatest Hokage in history. She would give anything just to see her most loved person, Minato Namikaze, one last time, if only to fill him in on their son's life.
The second reason for Kushina's despair had to do with how Minato left them. He had wished for Naruto to be seen as a hero, but some words from some frail old warhawk with a fetish for artificially upgrading his body turned their fortunes from bad to the worst case scenario minus an invasion from Iwagakure itself. She felt that Minato would be able to help them navigate these situations as a helping hand for her to lean on, and give Naruto a much better life.
"God fucking damnit WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE MINATO-KUN?!" Kushina yelled inwardly as she began to sob. "We had our whole lives planned out ahead of us, Naruto was going to grow up to become just like you, get trained by the best of the best, and the successor to your throne!" Kushina said in between her sobs. Little did she realize that her son was not by her side anymore. She turned around to hopefully see Naruto and give her a little hope back in life, but she didn't see him.
Meanwhile, Naruto was walking along the streets taking in the sights of the festival and being enamored by his idol, the yondaime hokage. He paid little attention to the small amount of glares that came his way, considering he was a naive, idealistic kid who still saw the good in everyone (Even if those fucktards don't deserve it). What he didn't notice however, was someone stalking him the whole time he was there. She had been keeping an eye on the young blond ever since he saved her from bullies a few years ago, and now she finally had her chance… To get her revenge.
Yariman Hyuga was one prideful kunoichi who didn't appreciate the "Demon shithead" as she denoted him, sticking up for her. It made her feel weak, insecure, and most of all, disgraced. Some random kid who everyone hates just comes around and murks a few bullies that were supposed to be her to deal with, gaining her glory and respect within her clan. But now, thanks to some brat, she had to face the scorn of her family once more, leading to their mass disappointment. She felt that now was the perfect time, with everyone distracted at the festival, to kill the son of a bitch once and for all.
It's not like she was alone either. She had organized a mob of angry civilians who wanted nothing more than to see him dead. As such, she quietly waited by the edge of the festival for the perfect opportunity to strike. To ensure complete success of the mission, she summoned a kage bunshin (Shadow clone).
"Go to the little shit and tell him there's free ramen around the corner. That'll hopefully force him in our direction and give us a chance to kill him once and for all." Yariman instructed her clone, who promptly responded and went off to lure Naruto into a trap.
Naruto suddenly felt his stomach growling. He had eaten just over 2 hours ago and was starting to feel hungry once more. Naruto always craved the ramen he would receive from Ichiraku's, the only place that would consistently serve him due to their almost unbreakable relationship with his mother. Teuchi and Ayame Ichiraku, Naruto's two best friends ran the ramen shop he loved so much. But the ramen wasn't the reason he loved it so much, despite it being second only to his mother's famous Miso Char siu ramen, it was the fact that Teuchi and Ayame were the first people to truly see Naruto as who he was, and two people who didn't let their prejudice get in the way of doing what's right. This was something that Naruto thanked his lucky stars for until this day. There was finally a place outside of his home where he could go without being shunned or unfairly treated.
He thought back to his first day at Ichiraku Ramen, and what he considered the best day of his life.
Flashback no jutsu
"HURRY UP NARUTO, WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE!" Kushina yelled out. It was her friend's 50th birthday party and the first time she had taken Naruto out of the house in the last 4 months, since the attacks on him started.
Naruto meanwhile was having trouble putting on his shirt, mainly because he was about 2 sizes too big for it, to the point where it just barely covered his torso. "MAMA! NARUTO NEED HELP!" He called from his room.
Kushina ran up the stairs and fixed Naruto's problem simply by extending his shirts to fit his size (If we can have giant Buddha statues that can destroy fucking Majestic Attire Susanoos, we can have a jutsu that elongates clothes) and they both left for the birthday party.
As they walked down the road to Kushina's favorite ramen shop, she could hear all the whispers going around. They had just found out about her son's jinchuriki status and they decided to take their anger over the fox out on them. It angered her to the fucking core, her husband had paid the ultimate sacrifice to the village and they were not only sullying his last living memories, but they were actively going out of their way to try and make their lives hell. If it wasn't for Teuchi Ichiraku being the only beacon of light in this god forsaken village, Kushina would have taken her son and left, regardless of what the shitheads they call a village council say.
As they approached the Ramen shop, she could only hear the whispers getting louder. Kushina Uzumaki had half a mind to go over to the villagers and beat the ever living shit out of them for speaking ill of her son, but she knew that that would only fuel the villagers' hate of Naruto. If only you were still here Minato-kun, maybe then Naruto would have a happy childhood instead of the entire village actively trying to make our lives a living hell. Oh who am I kidding, you'd probably be spinning in your grave if you saw the shit this village is pulling dattebane. I can only hope you don't see this because I know I would want to lynch all these motherfuckers making our son's life a living hell. She thought to herself. Luckily, she was broken out of her trance by the call of one ramen shop owner.
"AH KUSHINA-CHAN, Glad you could make it." Teuchi Ichiraku called out, immediately taking notice of the young child in Kushina's arms. "And you must be Naruto." The ramen shop owner said, looking at the young blonde.
Naruto tugged closer to his mother, as interactions with others was typically something that didn't leave a good impression on him. This one typically freaked him out because he was being nice to him, a feeling which Naruto only got from his mother. He immediately buried his face into his mother's neck.
"Mommy, big man scaring Naruto." Naruto told his mother between sobs.
"Sh… It's ok Naru-chan, Teuchi-san is an old friend of mommy's, there is no reason to be scared around him." Kushina said softly, hoping to calm Naruto down (Spoiler alert, it didn't). She knew that Naruto noticed the stares that the public gave him, and that he was scared of if they were going to hurt him or not. Kushina silently cursed the gods for giving Naruto such a nasty draw, and she could only hope it would get better. (Little did she know, for it to get better, it would need to get much, MUCH worse).
Naruto could only curl up closer to his mother's neck as Teuchi went back to making his famous ramen, one that both Kushina and Minato endorsed when he was still alive. While he was disappointed that he didn't get to hold Naruto, he could see where Naruto's fears came from. Teuchi silently also cursed the villagers and the Hokage for not doing anything to stop the clear and obvious hate that Naruto was receiving. He was already aware that Naruto has been the victim of many organized mobs within the village looking to take out their hatred of the fox on Naruto.
As a result, he made Kushina's favorite, Miso Char siu Ramen with less fat, and a second, smaller bowl to give to Naruto.
"Mommy, w-will that kill me?" Naruto asked innocently.
"No sweetie, the ramen is actually mine and your father's favorite food." Kushina shut her mouth completely at the mention of Naruto's father.
Despite all the shit she gave Hiruzen for not putting measures in place to protect her and Minato's son, she could commend him on one thing. If Naruto ever found out he was the son of Minato Namikaze, the village would be in deeper shit than ever before. Not only dealing with the recent attack of the Kyubi, which Kushina was supposed to be the jailer of, but if the other villages, especially Iwagakure, ever got word that their biggest enemy had a son, and that he was the new jinchuriki of the Kyubi, then they would stop at nothing to either capture Naruto to gain an advantage over the other villages or to kill Naruto to severely weaken Konoha's morale and shinobi reserves.
Naruto unfortunately caught wind of what his mother was saying.
"Mommy, who was Daddy? You never told me anything about him." Naruto looked up, sad that he didn't hear a single story about his father until his mother accidentally blurted it out.
Cat's out of the bag now, gotta tell him something about his father. Kushina thought.
"Well Naru-chan, what would you like to know?"
"Was daddy really strong?" Naruto asked excitedly.
Kushina could only laugh with her son, before turning a bright red. "Well Naru-chan, your father was the strongest and bravest man I've ever met. The type of man who wanted everyone to love him, and one who wanted to love everyone. He would end up accomplishing his dream and then some, and when I told him you were in my tummy, he could not be happier. He loved you more than anyone he had ever met, and for the last few weeks before you were born, all he could talk about was what he would do when you came into this world, all the training he would do with you, all the fun times you and he would have, all the birthdays, all the gifts, and even all the life memories he wished he could have with his parents." Kushina told Naruto with a smile on her face.
"Then, if he wanted to meet me so much, why isn't he here today?" Naruto asked with a sad tone.
Kushina's face immediately faltered. Minato's death was something that she never really liked talking about, and it would also be harder for her to talk about it with someone that looked and acted so much like her late husband that even a blind person could see the resemblance.
"The reason your father isn't here today is because he gave his life to protect the things he loved the most." Kushina said solemnly. She then pointed to Naruto's heart and said "But always remember this Naru-chan, no matter what happens, your father will always be a part of you. Like I said, he loved you more than any person, friend, or village that supported him through the darkest of times. You were his hope in life, the hope that one day, he could pass on his legacy to the man who he believed would become the greatest shinobi of all time. And he's watching your every step of the way and thinking 'I couldn't have asked for a better son.'"
Naruto seemed to light up at the mention of his father being proud of him. All his life he had seen many children hanging out with their fathers, yet he had always wondered why his mother was alone. At least he wasn't abandoned by some dead-beat prick who wanted nothing to do with him anymore, and he had the potential to be the greatest shinobi of all time.
"Wow, if dad was such a great man, then I will become even BETTER than he was!" Naruto exclaimed cheerfully.
Teuchi and Kushina both laughed lightheartedly at Naruto's antics, which caused him to pout his signature 'You don't believe me, well I'll prove you wrong' pout.
"Of course Naruto, I have no doubt that you'll be able to surpass him one day." Teuchi said with a smile. "Now eat up before your ramen gets cold."
"Itadakimasu!" Naruto and Kushina both said before eating their ramen.
End flashback no jutsu
To Naruto, the ramen symbolized the first person in the village aside from his mother that truly treated him like a person rather than as a burden. Despite only being 3 years old at that time, Naruto could feel the hatred the villagers had for him ever since that day, and despite his goofy exterior, he was not stupid to what the villagers thought of him. It upset Naruto to the core when he would hear the villagers call him words like "Demon" or "Kyubi bitch", but he would try his best to avoid it. Unfortunately, there is only so much a person could take before they start being mistrustful of the village entirely.
Meanwhile, Yariman Hyuga was setting up with the other villagers in an attempt to finally end the "burden's" life. With the force of over 50 angry villagers with pitchforks, knives, and matches, they intended to burn a child to the ground.
Naruto continued walking down the street when he noticed a strange man following him. Fearing for his life, Naruto sped up.
"GET BACK HERE YOU SHITTY KID, LET ME KILL YOU FOR WHAT YOU FUCKING DID TO THE VILLAGE I WANNA KILL YOU!" Shouted the villager chasing him. (Really smart move there huh….)
"WHAT DID I DO?!" Naruto screamed back.
"You were born." Yariman said in a chilling voice that would even make Hashirama Senju shudder. "Now take this you demon scum. 8 Trigram, 64 PALM!"
The Hyuga sent all 126 strikes to disable Naruto's tenketsu while the other villagers joined in the "fun." It didn't take long until Naruto was on the ground screaming and crying for anyone, literally anyone to come save him.
"Please, stop it! You're hurting me!" Naruto cried out.
"YOU THINK WE CARE YOU STUPID, INBRED, LITTLE FUCKER?! MY FRIEND'S DOG IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR ATTACK ON THE VILLAGE 6 YEARS AGO!" One of the villagers yelled.
"MY ICHA ICHA COLLECTION HAS BEEN DESTROYED THANKS TO YOUR ATTACK ON THE VILLAGE!" Another one screamed out. (Yes I know this wasn't what they're angry about, but at this point they would use any reason to justify beating Naruto to a bloody pulp.)
Truly pathetic. These sons of bitches actually think killing Naruto would do the village good. The same man who's not only holding back the beast from truly destroying their shitty ass village, and they don't even have Lord 4th to deal with that now. A mysterious Anbu thought. I need to inform Lord Hokage fast. He then sprinted off into the night, hoping to get word to Hiruzen Sarutobi in time.
"Please… Please… stop! I don't want to die!" Naruto cried out. "MOM! ANYONE! PLEASE! Please come help me!"
Meanwhile, as all of this was going on, two little girls just so happened to be in the area and spotted the murder attempt.
"Why are they trying to hurt that little kid?" The blonde-haired one asked her friend.
"I don't know, but go get help from your mommy, and I'll try and stop them from hurting him." The other girl, the one with pink hair and an abnormally large forehead, stated. As the blonde ran off to find some adult help, the pinkette rushed over to save Naruto from the hooligans. She couldn't bear to see someone being treated so horribly, and for being so young too. Before one of the villagers could swing their pitchfork onto Naruto's head to deliver the killing blow, she stepped in to defend Naruto from the attack.
"Stop it! This is not nice behavior!" She screamed.
"Move out of the way you little brat and let me kill that fucking demon for ruining our lives." An angry villager stated.
"NO! Mommy said it's not nice to hit people. Stop or I will tell your mommy!"
"Yeah, well my mommy is dead because this brat was born 6 years ago. So now who are you going to tell?" The villager spat on the girl before swinging down his pitchfork, regardless of if she was 'collateral damage' or not, he would kill the 'demon' if it was the last thing he did. "And when I finally kill the demon, the village will immortalize me by putting MY head on the fucking rock, not the damn Hoekages who decided that just because they are strong as fuck, they get their faces on a monument. Yes, the great Boke Kasu shrine. That has a good ring to it."
"NOT NOW BOKE, WE NEED TO KILL THE DEMON!" Another Hyuga member stated, "GENTLE FIST ART, AIR PALM!" He sent a strike aimed at Naruto's heart.
The little girl could only watch in horror at the scene she was just witnessing. 50 fully grown adults thinking it would be fun to beat up a little kid. Even some of the biggest enemies of Konoha that she has ever read about, Madara Uchiha included, have never thought to do something so barbaric. Yet here they were, trying to murder a child just because he was born. She could not stand to see it.
Ino, please hurry up and get some help, I can't watch this anymore, she thought while holding back tears.
Soon after, she couldn't take it anymore and she jumped in to save Naruto.
Meanwhile
"Mommy, mommy, mommy." The young blonde haired girl said to her mother.
"What is it, Ino-chan? Mommy's kinda busy right now." The other blonde said to her young daughter, now identified as Ino.
"Please can you come help me? Some big bad guys are hurting a little kid. We need to go now or else he will be hurt very bad." Ino pulled her mom's hand indicating she wanted her to come with her.
"Ino wait, I'm sure nobody is that big of a meanie that they would hurt a kid. I'm sure you just saw something that wasn't true."
Ino was more than a little shocked that her own mother would brush something like this off. All her life she was told that if she saw something wrong, she should tell her and they would stop it together. This time, she knew exactly what she saw and wasn't about to go down that easily.
"No mommy, Ino knows what I saw. Some big bad men were hurting a little kid, now please come with me so we can help him." Ino pleaded with her mother. "Remember you told me that if I saw something to come and tell you right away, well I saw it. Please come help us, the little kid is being hurt and I want to help!"
"Calm down Ino, I'll be right there. Just let me finish talking to my friend over here and then I'll come." Ino's mother told her while patting her on the head.
"No need Ishida, go help your daughter. It seems like she really needs it." Her friend said, as Ishida ran off with her daughter.
Ishida Yamanaka was one of the only people in the village who never looked at Naruto with disdain, and the appointed guardian of Naruto if Minato, Kushina, Mikoto Uchiha, or Jiraiya weren't around. In fact, she was the first one to have tipped off Hiruzen about a possible attack on Naruto as one day, he came into the flower shop all bruised up. Naruto, being the person he was, tried to brush it off as a bad fall, but being a Yamanaka, she could see through the half-assed lie better than a Byakugan could see chakra points. However, out of respect for both Naruto and Kushina, chose to keep that information to herself when they met. She had always held a soft spot for the blonde and had wished he and Ino would meet.
Please don't be what I think it will be, if Kushina-chan finds out about this all hell would break loose. Ishida thought. She then turned to her daughter.
"So Ino, where did you see the attack?"
"I saw it while my new friend Sakura and I were walking to the big party. We didn't know where to go so we went by the old houses and we saw big bad guys with big pointy sticks and cutting thingies, Sakura went to help while I went to get some help." Ino explained.
"Did you say old houses?" Ishida asked.
"Yes mommy, very old houses. I think the only people that live there are old people."
Oh fuck this is bad. Very very very very bad. Thank goodness Ino wasn't around for her to get in the crossfire, but the village has gone too far now. Trying to kill a fucking kid just for being alive? If Minato, Obito, Jiraiya-sensei, or Kushina-chan saw this happen, it would have been civil war against the villagers. Ishida thought to herself.
Being a teammate of Minato under the tutelage of Jiraiya, one of the legendary Sannin. Ishida had developed a very close relationship with Minato over the years and even competed with Kushina for his love, all while maintaining a strong friendship with her too. Even though she eventually lost the affections of the powerful and handsome Namikaze, she still maintained a strong friendship with both Minato and Kushina. She especially remembered how excited Kushina was to meet Ino, who always hoped she and Naruto would become friends one day.
Unfortunately, after the reveal of Naruto being the jinchuriki of the fox, fear began to spread among the Yamanaka clan, especially with regards to Naruto and the implications of interacting with him. None of the main members held any particular hate towards the boy, but they were cautious around him, hence why Ishida was only really able to visit Naruto once. They feared that being around Naruto would paint their image as "guilty by association", sparking a rebellion of the Yamanaka or war against other, more prejudiced clans like the Hyuga.
Ishida silently cursed at the actions of the villagers and only could thank god that her daughter was not one of the prejudiced ones. She looked back at Ino with a smile on her face before remembering where they were going, Naruto Uzumaki's rescue.
"Mommy, they were just around here." Ino told her mother as they rounded the corner to get to Naruto's location.
With Naruto
Naruto had dealt with his fair share of pain long before the attack, but this kind was something even he couldn't tolerate. At least with the other times he got attacked, he could feel different emotions coming from everyone. Resentment, disdain, anger, and pain. But this time it was different, this time it was much, much worse. This time it wasn't any of those he could feel. Resentment, disdain, anger, and pain he could deal with, but this feeling he couldn't.
Hate.
For the first time ever, Naruto truly felt hate. He could feel the hate the villagers had for him, he could feel the hateful looks that would come his way from the adults in the village, and worst of all, he could feel the inner hate he had for himself. The hate that made him think What did I do to deserve this? All Naruto could do was curl up into a ball and wish for this nightmare to be over. But then, he saw something.
More like someone.
Someone who wanted to protect him for the first time. A little girl with the most beautiful hair Naruto had ever seen. The way her pink hair fell down to her shoulders was mesmerizing to the young blonde, and she was risking her life just to protect him. He had to do something or else she would surely die protecting him.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET OUT OF THE WAY! YOU WILL GET HURT!" He yelled out.
"Mommy said that when someone is getting hurt, they should be protected no matter what. And now I will make sure you don't get hurt any more." She turned around and flashed a smile at Naruto, who just had the look that he saw an angel for the first time in his life.
"No, please. Get out of the way. They'll hurt you badly!" Naruto cried out.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the strikes of the 8 trigram coming his way and his body just moved to defend the girl from the attack. Naruto could feel all of his chakra points shutting down at this moment, and it felt like he was going to die.
"YOU BIG MEANIES!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. "IF YOU DON'T STOP HURTING HIM I WILL TELL THE HOKAGE!"
"Actually Sakura-chan, you don't need to tell me anything."
Turning around, Naruto and Sakura could see the elderly hokage and two different anbu ninjas surrounding him. Naruto had his fair share of run-ins with the anbu and he could never recall a pleasant experience. In self defense, he put his arms around Sakura, trying to protect her from people he viewed as dangerous.
While clearly shocked, Sakura Haruno couldn't help but blush at the gesture. Here there was a young boy who wanted to make sure she was safe, regardless of what happened to him. It only made her feel upset though as she felt that she needed to do more for him.
"Well well well, Yariman Hyuga." The elderly hokage turned to face the attacker. "I assume it was you who ordered the mob on Naruto-kun, I wonder how your brother would feel about this revelation."
"Who is this Naruto-kun you speaketh of? I only know this bitch as Demon Brat or Kyubi Slut. All other names are invalid, and I will be the hero of the village by cleansing this filth. Plus I don't see why you're defending this little fucker, Hokage-sama. In fact, wasn't it the Nine-tails himself that killed your wife?" Yariman shot back.
Hiruzen however paid no attention to the last part. No, to him, Yariman Hyuga was still a criminal for everything she did. And on top of that, she had the absolute GALL to bring up his late wife as justification for attempted murder, child endangerment, and countless other crimes. Nevertheless, Hiruzen Sarutobi could only go with what the hokage rule stated. He turned to one of his two Anbu ninjas.
"Karasu-kun, please make sure these people are arrested and taken to Ibiki immediately. I want to know EVERYTHING that happened. Not just today, but from every attack on Naruto-kun's life. Because I'm sure they all know SOMETHING about it." Hiruzen was absolutely livid. He turned to Yariman one more time. "If you EVER. And I mean EVER try to use my wife as justification for trying to kill a child, so help me god I don't care what the rules say. The only way you're going back home to your family is in a body bag."
The Anbu member made his move once Hiruzen finished the threat. He fended off the villagers with relative ease, but it still gave Yariman enough time to deal two more attacks. One at Naruto, and the other at Sakura.
"EIGHT TRIGRAMS! 64 PALM!" Yariman yelled out. This time she made sure to strike all of Naruto's chakra points as he fell to the ground completely unconscious and on the verge of death. The other villagers joined in, stabbing Naruto in places which even Madara Uchiha would barf at seeing. In the end, Naruto had cuts and gashes running all throughout his body to the point where there was almost no sign of his original skin.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sakura yelled out and ran over to Naruto, before being met with an 8 trigram strike of her own, causing her to nearly lose consciousness.
"That's it you piece of shit, you're fucking dead." Karasu said in a bone-chilling voice that would have even made the legendary Madara Uchiha shudder in fear. "KATON: FIREBALL JUTSU!" The anbu released the largest fireball she had ever seen, and it was aimed directly at her. Yariman tried to duck but it was too late. Her entire face melted off from the attack from the anbu, leaving her deader than the queen.
The rest of the "Murk Naruto squad" instantly dispersed, not wanting to anger the hokage any more. However it was too late as anbu surrounded all of them and arrested them for attempted murder, possession of a deadly weapon, and hate crime.
"N-Naruto-kun… please don't die…" Sakura pleaded before crying and holding her savior in her arms. She continued to cry into his chest as two other people came close. Sakura immediately got into a defensive position until the two rounded the corner.
"He's right here mom!" Ino said as she kept dragging her mother to the area. What the both of them saw was something that none of them could fathom. Naruto lay there in a pool of his own blood with wounds so deep one could see the fucking bone. However that was not the surprising part to Ino nor Ishida. No, the surprising part was the little girl doing everything she could to try and stop the bleeding, and crying over him like she had just lost her brother.
"Sakura! What's wrong?" Ino went over to ask her friend.
"He… he saved my life… and I couldn't do anything to help him!" Sakura cried into Ino's chest. Ino couldn't help but feel for her new friend. If someone had saved her life, she would never be more than 2 inches away from that person again. But here it happened to Sakura, and her hero was lying in a pool of what could only be classified as his own blood. Not to mention the strange orange chakra leaking out of him.
"MOMMY LOOK OUT!" Ino yelled as her mom bent down to try and pick Naruto up. "ORANGE STUFF IS COMING OUT OF HIS BODY!"
Ino looked terrified. Out of all the times she had seen chakra before, it was never orange. It was always blue or some shade of blue, yet this boy was different. This orange chakra leaking out of him was enough to put Ino into a traumatized state, especially with her mother nearby. She also couldn't let Sakura see what her hero was turning into. However, a few words alleviated all of her concerns regarding the chakra.
"Relax my daughter, that chakra is only helping him." Ishida stated.
"So will he be ok mommy?" Ino asked, hoping to god that Naruto wouldn't meet Kami too early.
"We can only hope, Ino-chan, but from what I can see, if he doesn't get hospital attention immediately, he won't make it. I can only fear for the people who attacked them. If the Sandaime hasn't done anything about it, I fear the wrath of the only thing worse than the 9 tailed fox." Ishida could only cower in fear at the sight of what she was picturing. An image of Kushina Uzumaki going berserk on her classmates just because they called her a tomato. Imagine what she could do to the village that killed her only son, the one person she loved more than life itself. If Hiruzen didn't do anything to fix the current situation, dear god Konoha would be in deeper shit than when Madara Uchiha attacked the village.
"Ino come quick. Please help me get him to the hospital." Ishida called out to her daughter. "I need to go get his mommy."
Ino jumped to her feet and rushed over to pick Naruto up off the ground. She internally vomited seeing the amount of blood leaking out of his body and exactly how much flesh was exposed. These were the kind of injuries no one would ever wish on their worst enemy, yet here they were, on a kid no older than her. Beaten to near-death like he was the reincarnation of the Shinigami itself. Ino couldn't help but cry at the sight, much like Sakura before her.
"Sakura-chan, can you come help me? He's a bit too heavy to pick up." Ino asked softly.
Sakura rushed over and tried to get Naruto off the ground. Eventually with both of their strength, they could get Naruto up, but it wouldn't be long before they ran out of energy and collapsed on the ground.
To Naruto's mindscape
"Wh-where am I?" Naruto asked himself, both scared and curious for where he was at this moment. Surrounding him was a murky sewer with a giant metal cage in it. Naruto shivered at the sight, and tried to scream his way out.
"HELP! SOMEONE! PLEASE, ANYONE!" Naruto yelled out, hoping his voice would be heard by anyone at all.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN HERE YOU LITTLE BRAT!" A voice came from the cage, alerting Naruto to the point where he was almost cowering in fear.
"W-Who are you?" Naruto asked frightened half to death.
"I am the Nine-tails you brat, now open this fucking seal and let me out so I can be free again." Said voice screeched out.
"N-Nine-tails?!" Naruto at this point was having a panic attack.
"Yes you insolent brat, how many times do I have to spell it out for you? I am a fox with nine tails and you are nothing but a whiny little pansy with nothing better to do in life than to get the living shit beat out of you. Now… LET ME OUT SO I CAN HEAL YOUR SORRY ASS TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GODDAMN DIE ON EVERYONE!" The fox yelled at the top of its lungs.
Naruto had felt this type of anger before, seeing those same looks on the villagers once before. Only this time, he didn't pussy away from the fox. Rather, he decided to welcome said challenge head on, knowing only bonding with the fox would be able to help him protect the ones he loved the most, his mother, and now Sakura.
"Listen here you overgrown fur ball, my name is Naruto Uzumaki. I will be the next hokage dattebayo! So bow down and respect me like the little tiny fox you are." Naruto said confidently.
"You have no idea how much that puts a smile on my face, do you, son." A mysterious figure said in the distance.
"Huh? Did you just call me 'son' foxy?" Naruto asked the 9 tails.
"Grrrrrrrrrr… MINATO! LET ME OUT OF HERE!" The fox could only yell out the name of the other man within Naruto's mindscape.
"Now, now Kurama, no need to get all fussy. Can't a father spend some time with his son?" Minato cheekily replied with a smile on his face, completely oblivious to the effects of his words on his son sitting right next to him.
"D-D-Dad?!"
"Yes Naruto. I am your father, the 4th hokage, Minato Namikaze."
Well that does it for part 1 of Naruto: The Namikaze Legacy. I truly hope you like where this story is going, and my vision for it. The ship for this story will be a Naruto x Harem story, but it will only be a small harem of about 5-10 girls. Not every single fucking girl in the show. So far, only Sakura and Ino have been confirmed as part of the harem, so I am open to suggestions from the readers on who you would like to see added. However, I do have a few rules for them.
NO Hinata in the harem (WAY too overused as a harem girl. Plus I'm not the biggest fan of her lack of a personality)
NO Kushina in the harem (She's his fucking mother for gods sake. She will NEVER be in a relationship with Naruto. Incest is a MASSIVE no for me)
NO Temari in the harem (Nothing against Temari, but Shikamaru and Temari will FOREVER be a couple, hence why she will never be with Naruto)
NO genderbending except Haku, cuz I'm still convinced Haku's a girl
NO person over 5 years older than Naruto (Anko, Kurenai, Tsuande, Shizune, Yugao, Hana, any mom, etc.)
Will consider the other jinchurikis: Fu and Yugito
Will consider Samui
Will consider Fem Haku
Will consider Kurotsuchi
Will consider other characters which haven't been mentioned so long as they follow the rules listed above.
Other relationships are as follows: Minato x Kushina. Sasuke x OC. Kiba x Hinata. Shino x OC. Choji x Ayame. Shikamaru x Temari. Jiraiya x Tsunade. Obito x Shizune.
With that being said, please let me know what you think of the story in the reviews. The more reviews I get means that people want to see my content, and that motivates me to write faster. So keep the reviews coming, any positive or critical reviews are welcome, just don't spread hate. That is all I ask.
With that, I'll catch you in the next chapter. Peace!
