Tim, Delilah, Johnny, Morgan, Jimmy, Jessica, Victoria
Take your vampire to work day.
McGee was at his desk when Jessica walked in to start the day. Tim noticed the concerned look on her face as she sat down at her desk.
"Morning Agent Knight, is everything all right?"
Jessica looked up at him with a questioning look on her face. "Morning Agent McGee. Why do you ask?"
"You look a little worried about something."
"Oh, it's nothing. Halloween is coming up and I was wondering what to do for Victoria."
"Doesn't Jimmy have any ideas?"
"He usually does something with Victoria and his mom. He wants me to be part of it too."
"That makes sense. Don't you want to be a part of it?"
"Of course. I didn't mean to sound like I didn't. It's just something I want to do right and I have no experience with."
"Have you tried calling your cousin? I remember when you wanted to be the cool relative with the paper doll."
Jess laughed. "Yeah I could call her but I'm trying to avoid the twenty questions that come with it. You've got two kids Tim. What do you and Delilah do?"
"Come to think of it, we usually do the same thing every year. It might be fun trying something new. What do you think about doing something with us and our kids?"
"That sounds like a great idea. Let me talk to Jimmy about it."
I'll call Delilah to see what she thinks."
Parker came down from the Director's office and overheard the end of the conversation. "Do want to bring your kids here in the afternoon? I'm sure Kasie would love to give a tour of the lab."
"Jimmy can dress up like a vampire and haunt the morgue," Tim offered.
"I'll be his assistant in charge of the blood bank." Jessica said. "I better go down and see Jimmy."
Jess stood up and headed down to the morgue. Upon entering, she spotted Jimmy filling out a report while examining a body. His back was to her and he didn't see her come in.
Jess tiptoed into the room and snuck up behind him. She reached around his head and covered his eyes with her hands. "Guess who?" she asked as she planted a kiss on his cheek.
Jimmy pretended to be surprised by dropping his clipboard. Now that his hands were free, he reached behind himself to wrap his hands around her lower back and spun around, capturing her lips in his."
Momentarily caught off guard, Jess let out a little squeal before returning the kiss. "I guess you knew it was me." She mumbled against his lips.
Jimmy laughed. "Of course I knew it was you. I love the scent of your perfume and I know the sound of your footsteps, even if you are trying to sneak up on me."
"I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever going to surprise you."
"What do I owe the pleasure of your visit this morning?"
"We were having a discussion about Halloween upstairs and wanted your input."
"I was trying to think of something new to do with Victoria and you. McGee was wondering if you would like to do something with him, Delilah and their kids. Then Parker offered to have the kids dress up and come to work. What do you think about all this?"
Jimmy held Jess' hands and said "I think that sounds like a great idea. We can talk to Victoria about it tonight. You are going to be able to come over and have dinner with us, right?"
Jess kissed Jimmy and said "Of course. Don't we eat dinner together almost every night?"
Jimmy nodded. "I was just making sure you didn't make any other plans."
"I would let you know well before hand. We are almost living together now."
"I know and I love it and I love you."
"I love you too."
"It almost seems a waste to pay the rent on two places."
"True, but for that to happen we will need to make our arrangement permanent. Weren't you the one to want to give our relationship a label first?"
Jimmy chuckled. "That is true and I won your heart and you won mine which is the most important."
"That is so true. But I think I've made it clear to you that I won't move in with you without a ring on my finger first."
"I'm totally in agreement with you on that. I love you and I'm just giving you time to make sure you want to hitch your wagon with me who has a daughter."
"I appreciate that so much. I love you too and Victoria. It's important that she is on board too."
Jess' phone beeped. "We're coming up Tim. Be there in a minute."
Jimmy put on his vampire costume and was standing in the bathroom making faces while Jess was finishing his scary makeup. His face was painted white with blood dripping from the side of his mouth. His eyes were black along with his black wig. Victoria walked in and grabbed onto Jess with a squeal. "Dad, you look really scary."
"Muoahhhhhh," Jimmy said to her as he leaned down and made his hands into claws.
Victoria let go of Jess and hugged her dad. "What a great costume."
"You look great too, sweetie. A mighty fine Galadriel if I ever saw one."
"Jess helped me with my pointy ears." She turned to Jess. "I really like your Morticia Addams outfit. You better not kiss daddy too much though with that dark red lipstick."
Jess laughed. "I'll try to restrain myself."
"I know you and dad love each other. I'm really glad you do. I love you too Jessica," said Victoria.
Jess wrapped Victoria in her arms and gave her a big hug. "I love you Victoria. I'm so glad you make me feel part of your family."
Jimmy then wrapped his arms around the two ladies in his life. "I love you both so very much. Let's get going so we won't be late."
McGee and his family pulled into the NCIS parking lot right after Jimmy, Jess and Victoria were getting out of their car. Tim brought Delilah's wheelchair around to the passenger side of the car and helped her get situated. The McGees were all dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters. Tim wore a wizard costume, Delilah the wicked witch, Johnny the tin man and Morgan was Dorothy, complete with red shoes.
"My, don't you all look cute together," said Victoria.
"So do you, Victoria," said Delilah. "Jess, are you and Jimmy planning on scaring the young ones?"
"Jimmy scary?" Tim laughed. "Morticia might be when she has her mean face on."
Jess laughed. "If Morgan gets scared she can just click her heels and say there is no place like home."
They all walked into NCIS headquarters surprised at all the decorations. "Kasie must have been very busy. This looks great." Jimmy remarked.
Once inside the office, the group noticed they were not the first ones to arrive. It looked like the entire accounting department was there. Monster Mash was playing in the background and cobwebs complete with giant spiders hung from the ceiling. Blowup figures like Scoobie Doo were scattered around the room along with carved pumpkins and bowls of candy and popcorn. A cauldron full of apple cider was in the middle with smoke rising from the top.
"Wow," Victoria exclaimed. Seeing Kasie, ran up to her and gave her a big hug. "This place is fantastic. Thank you so much." Kasie smiled and hugged her back. "You're welcome. My pleasure."
Kasie was dressed as a clown ready to entertain. She wore a belt with pouches full of balloons for making animals. Morgan and Johnny ran up to Kasie. "Can you make me a wiener dog Kasie?" Morgan asked. "Certainly," responded Kasie. "What would you like Johnny?" "I want a hat." Looking over at Victoria she asked "Would Galadriel like a sword?" Victoria chuckled "Yes. Please. My costume didn't come with one."
Everyone made their way to the back room where they had a costume parade. The McGee's won the family costume contest and Jimmy won the best scary costume. Jess won the best overall costume award.
When the party was over, Kasie was exhausted from making all the balloon animals and everyone pitched in to clean up the mess. While walking back to their cars, Jess asked the McGees ,"Would you like to get something to eat? I heard there is a pizza place with lots of games to play nearby."
"Do you mean Pizza Landing?" Delilah asked.
"That's the one." Jess answered.
"Sounds like fun. We'll follow you there." Tim added.
After ordering the pizza and drinks and buying a bunch of tokens to play the games, Tim and Jimmy took the kids to the play area while Jess and Delilah waited at their table.
"If you don't mind me saying, you and Jimmy sure seem like you are getting close."
Jess grinned. "We sure are. How did you know that Tim was "the one"?"
"I like that grin. It's hard to put into words but I just knew. I loved the way he treated me, listened to me and accepted me even though we had to work through some issues with my career and then with my paralysis. He's stood by through it all and I love him for who he is."
"I love the way Jimmy treats me and listens to me and accepts me as well. We talk through everything. I'm ready to marry him if he asks me and I know he wants to. He's just wants to be sure it's okay with Victoria and that I'm ready to be a stepmom."
Jess didn't hesitate. "I am and I love Victoria. I think she loves me too."
"I know Victoria loves you and knows you won't try to replace her mother."
"How do you know that?"
"I have my ways," Delilah chuckled. "We were talking at the party and saw you and Jimmy helping entertain the kids. She loved the way you and her dad worked together and kept laughing. She said she was glad her dad found someone to love again and wanted the three of you to become a family."
Jess' eyes became moist with emotion. "She did?"
Just then Victoria ran over with a long stream of prize tickets and handed them to Jess. "Look mom, I won all these tickets."
Jess hugged her and gave her kiss on the cheek. "Congratulations. Well done!" Victoria sat on her lap and looked at Jess in the eyes.
"I hope you don't mind me calling you mom. I know how much you and dad love each other and I really hope we become a family. I love you too."
Jess had real tears flowing down her face now as she hugged Victoria tight. "I'm so happy that you want to call me mom. I'm really touched and would be overjoyed to call you my daughter and I love you."
Victoria kissed Jess back on the cheek. "Don't lose my tickets mom," she said as she ran back to the play area.
Delilah reached over and squeezed Jessica's hands. "I'm so happy for you."
Jess smiled through her tears. "Thank you."
When Victoria reached where her dad was she gave him a big hug. "I gave mom my tickets to hold."
Jimmy looked down at his daughter and then over at Jess, seeing the tears in her eyes. Before he could say anything Victoria spoke,
"I know you love Jessica and I love her too and want us to become a family. I want her to be my mom and she's happy to be my mom. When are you going to ask her to marry you?"
Jimmy sat down in a nearby chair and pulled Victoria onto his lap. "Jess and I have been talking about that and just wanted to be sure you were ok with it and that Jess was sure she wanted to be part of a ready-made family. I know now that you are both sure." He gave his daughter a big hug and a kiss. "You've made me very happy."
Victoria grinned and said "I'm hungry. Is the pizza ready yet?"
Jimmy laughed and saw the food being delivered to their table. "C'mon Galadriel, let's get some food before the McGees eat it all."
Tim gave Jimmy a mock glare while leading his two children to the table. "No pizza for you Palmer."
Jimmy laughed as he walked over, taking a seat next to Jess and giving her a kiss. Jess raised an eyebrow. "Victoria has made me a very happy man. I hope you will soon make my joy complete."
Jess grinned and said "I intend to. You just have to ask." She gave him a kiss in return.
Jimmy and Jess sat on the edge of Victoria's bed to bid her goodnight. She threw her arms around both of them in turn and crawled under the covers. "Thank you for a fun Halloween. I love you both."
"We love you too. Sleep well," Jimmy and Jess said to her as they turned out the light and left her room.
Jimmy and Jess walked into their bedroom and went into the bathroom to remove the makeup they had on for their costumes. "Wouldn't it be easier to just jump in the shower? Jimmy asked.
"Are you trying to get me to take a shower with you Jimmy?"
Jimmy grinned and turned her around before unhooking her costume at the back and lowering the zipper. "Does this answer your question, sweetheart?"
Jess stepped out of her costume and turned around clad only in her underwear. She kissed Jimmy and said "Turn around my love, I'm a little ahead of you in the shower wardrobe department."
Jess and Jimmy spent a long time in the shower making sure all of their makeup, and the rest of their bodies, were scrubbed very clean.
