FOREWORD

It's been a while since I've done a High School DxD story, hasn't it? I honestly needed to distance myself from the franchise for a while, as my prior attempts didn't interest me anymore. And yet, I knew I'd return, to do new stories with different pairings.

While High School DxD is infamously a harem series, I wanted to do stories with single pairings, particularly with characters whom I felt were underrepresented in the original series. Namely Raynare and Rossweisse. Followers of my story sample chapters in the Cauldron will note that I did write one for Raynare as well as for Rossweisse, but this one proved to be the most promising for me to write. And thankfully, I managed to get enough chapters done for the annual December mass-update.

I feel, in many ways, Rossweisse is a character with a lot of wasted potential. She's beautiful, compassionate and intelligent, and yet, she's also relegated not only to being one of Issei's haremettes, but also being the butt of the comic relief in the series. Here, I hope I've done the character justice, but also taking her in a new direction, even as she's paired with a Harry Potter with an interesting background and an equally interesting combination of abilities.

Anyway, time for the usual disclaimers. Firstly, there will be spoilers for both High School DxD, and the Potterverse.

Secondly, there will be annotations, heavy annotations, and bellyachers will be treated with all due contempt.

Thirdly, for language, violence, and sexual references (the latter is a given, as this IS High School DxD after all), this is an M-rated work.
