Name: Enobarbus Orums
District: District Two
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Kills: 12
Enobarbus Orums was the first ever true Career tribute. While Angelina and Lupus had both been trained, it had only been for one year. Enobarbus meanwhile had been trained for sixteen years prior to being a tribute. His parents had both been Peacekeepers, and had trained him from two years old. There had been conflict before the Dark Days really kicked off and, no matter how much the President at the time denied it, they knew that there would soon be a war. So, from the time he could walk and hold a sword, they trained him. All through the Dark Days, they trained him further. Enobarbus even killed a few rebels during that time. Eventually, Rebels killed both his parents, so after the Dark Days were over, he trained himself even more. By the time he was eighteen, Enobarbus was one of the most dangerous, skilled and loyal people to ever live in the nation on Panem.
At the reapings, the escort read out the name of a female tribute. Before she could even get up to the stage, the female Lupus had chosen, Athena Portcona, volunteered. Athena sauntered up to the stage. She stood up there proudly, saying how she would come home victorious. The escort then went over to the male reaping bowl, and drew a name. Before he had even completed reading the name, Enobarbus charged forward and volunteered. The escort was shocked, as was the District. The two most shocked people were Athena and Lupus. Lupus had already selected an eighteen-year-old called Calus Inargon to be the volunteer, and Athena had trained with him for the past few weeks so they would work together flawlessly. Enobarbus walked up onto the stage, and roared while showing off his muscles. This action got his District on his side, but freaked Athena out a little.
An hour and a half later, on the train to the Capitol, Lupus sat down opposite Enobarbus. Athena and Lupus had already talked, and agreed that while Calus had not volunteered, Enobarbus was still a good tribute, but she had to be careful.
"So Enobarbus, what is your plan for the Games," asked Lupus.
"Make the rebels pay. The betrayed the Capitol. The Capitol protects and loves all it's citizens, and the disgusting freaks tried to tear that all down. I will kill one person from each District, including from Two for none are above the Capitols rule, to ensure they pay for what they did."
Lupus blanched, shocked at what Enobarbus had said and tried to think of a way to convince him it was not necessary.
"I expect you to help me, Lupus. Your loyalty to the Capitol is known, and I could use your help in making sure no District goes unpunished for what they did in the Dark Days." Enobarbus finished. With that he stood up and left the room. Lupus swore quietly, and rushed to call the other Victors, to warn them of Enobarbus.
The training did not go as Enobarbus thought it would. On the first day, he and Athena met up with the pairs from One, Glow and Sparkle Victory, and Four, Starboard Jolpix and Aqua Westport. He was willing to let them into the Career Alliance as, while Districts One and Four did rebel a little, it wasn't until the Rebels held the Capital Cities of each District. The first morning passed by fine, with the six Careers all training with their preferred weapons. Enobarbus used swords but also trained with throwing knives to be able to fight in close quarters and at long range. The problems all started at lunch time. After eating, Enobarbus stood up and called for the attentions of all the other tributes.
"I would like to thank the cooks for this amazing meal. Glory to the Capitol. I am sure you will all love to join me in singing the national anthem of our great country," He called. "Oh Horn of Plenty, One Hord of Plenty for us all…" The only tributes who joined Enobarbus in singing were Glow, Sparkle and Athena. This pissed Enobarbus off quite a bit, especially as the boy from eight and girl from Nine were both laughing quietly at him. After lunch, all tributes went back into the training room. There, Enobarbus marched over to the two tributes who were laughing at him.
"Who do you think you are?" snapped Enobarbus.
"Bobbin Thruns," said the boy from Eight, "and this is Emma Pliox."
"Why were you laughing. The Anthem should always be respected." Shouted Enobarbus "You should be deeply ashamed of yourselves. Your parents would be if they found out how you betrayed the song of our nation. I demand a apology on behalf of our glorious President and our Nation," he ranted.
"No," snorted Bobbin.
"WHAT!" Shouted Enobarbus "What do you mean 'No'?"
"He means no. N-O. We will not apologise. Why should we?" said Emma.
"Because singing the Anthem is a sign of respect to this nation and our President. My parents saw things you could never imagine in the Dark Days, before the traitorous rebels killed them." Replied Enobarbus.
"I don't respect Ravinstill though. He is psychotic for making these Games," said Bobbin.
"HOW DARE YOU!" Thundered Enobarbus. He grabbed Bobbin and made to punch him, but a group of Gamemakers grabbed him, and started to pull him back, reprimanding him for attacking other tributes outside the arena.
"I shall ensure you pay for that, you traitorous little rancid piece of scum!" shouted Enobarbus.
Bobbin smirked and flipped him off, before shaking hands with Emma making an alliance. "Rebel working with rebel," thought Enobarbus "I shall make them both pay."
"Next, please welcome the only eleven scorer this year, the male from District Two; Enobarbus Orums!"
Enobarbus walked out onto the stage for his interview. Septimus had recently died in a car crash, so Lucky Flickerman was now the host of the pre-games festivities. Enobarbus walked out onto the stage, in his midnight blue suit and waved at the audience.
"Hello Enobarbus, how are you finding the Capitol?" asked Lucky.
"I love it. It is amazing. I always knew it would be, and I love it." Replied Enobarbus
"So, there was some fight in the training centre wasn't there? With Bobbin from Eight and Emma from Nine, am I right?" asked Lucky.
"Yes Lucky, you are correct. After lunch on the first day, I sang the national anthem to thank the amazing chefs in the Capitol, and they were laughing throughout the anthem." Said Enobarbus, causing a shocked gasp from the audience. "They then refused to apologise, saying that they shouldn't have to, and they didn't respect our dear President Ravinstill. They called him evil and cruel for enacting the Hunger Games. They are traitors, and dirty rebels. I shall make it my mission to punish them, and one person from every District while I am at it. No District is above the rule of the Capitol. We must all be ready to fight, die and sacrifice ourselves for the glory of out great nation. The Hunger Games were made for young adults to fight for honour and sacrifice. They are very important for our nation to continue to move forward. The Victor is a show of the forgiveness of the Capitol on the rebels, and how they are kind enough to give them a happy and rich life." Enobarbus then started a speech that, unbeknownst to him at the time, would go on to be redone by a future president, and would be used for a video played at the Reapings for hundreds of years. "There was a war. A terrible war. It resulted in countless widows, orphans, and motherless children. This was the uprising that rocked out land, our glorious nation of Panem. Thirteen Districts rose up against the country that loved them, cared for them, fed them and protected them from internal and external threats. People fought each other until nothing remained apart from devastation. Then, there was peace. We are lucky enough to be living in the first few years of this peace, and while we are still rebuilding, it is an orderly and peaceful we live in. People rose up from the ashes, and this new era of Panem was born. The Hunger Games is how we protect ourselves from falling back into the chaos of the Dark Days. It is how we remember our past. This is how we safeguard our future!" He finished his speech as the buzzer rang, and the audience erupted in applause for the loyal man they had before him, while most Districts seethed and hoped he would die a painful death.
The twenty four tributes rose into the arena. This year, they were in a meadow. There was a giant lake to the east, a forest to the north and west, and a giant mountain to the south. The Cornucopia was piled high with weapons, food, water and other useful item from binoculars, rope and matches to first aid kits, a raft and climbing gear. The gong rang and all tributes dived forward into the Bloodbath.
Enobarbus scooped up two throwing knives, and hurled them at the first two people he saw. The boy from Twelve and the Girl from Three collapsed, both with knives in their necks. He then grabbed a sword and, spotting Emma dived at her. Enobarbus swung his sword, cleaving through Emma's legs, before stabbing her in the gut then cutting her head off. Enobarbus looked around for Bobbin, but could not see him. He resorted to killing the girl from Six as she tried to get away from the Cornucopia. Almost all outlying tributes were now either dead or running away. The six careers stood together and noticed the boy from Ten limping away. Enobarbus spotted the girl from Ten lying dead.
"He won't get far," remarked Aqua "I speared him in the side after killing the girl."
"No he won't," replied Enobarbus, snatching Glow's bow and one of his arrows. Quickly notching it, and then letting it fly into the boys' back, killing him. The cannons started firing, one after the other, eleven in all. Enobarbus saluted for the entire duration, before springing into action and starting to move the bodies.
"Uh… what are you doing Enobarbus?" asked Sparkle.
"Helping the Capitol. Why should it be difficult for them to gather these fallen tributes. They have sacrificed themselves for the good of the country. They should be respected for this, even if they came from rebel stock," Enobarbus replied. He lined up the fallen, in District order with the male before the female. He then walked down the line of dead tributes, talking out loud.
"In the Dark Days, rebel in Three sabotaged various electronic devices sent all over the country, resulting in the electrocuting innocent citizens of the Capitol and the Districts, as well as rebels. This is where the rebellion led them." He said in front of the body of the Three female.
"In the Dark Days, rebel sabotaged power plants in District Five. This lead to massive losses of power in the Capitol and Districts. This power loss stopped hospitals working, killing untold amounts of injured men, women and children. This where the rebellion led them," he said in front of female from Five.
"In the Dark Days, the trains made in Six where turned into weapons of death, with drivers crashing them into various stations, disrupting supplies that the Capitol was still kindly giving the rebels even as they rebelled. This meant that many District citizens didn't get any food, resulting in death. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the pair from Six.
"In the Dark Days, rebels hid in the trees of District Seven, brutally slaughtering any Peacekeepers that came anywhere near them. The once calm and peaceful forest and woods turned into blood-soaked battlefields, littered with the mutilated corpses of people just trying to keep people safe. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the girl from Seven.
"In the Dark Days, field after field of crops in Nine were poisoned and sent to the Capitol be rebels. This killed masses of children and other innocent people, as well as District citizens. While trying to harm the Capitol, they starved themselves. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the female from Nine.
"In the Dark Days, those in Ten killed livestock in many different ways, with no humane methods used. Other animals were injected with diseases and used as rampaging weapons, used to attack places that rebels didn't attack themselves due to cowardice. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the pair from Ten.
"In the Dark Days, rebels in Eleven let fruit rot and refused to send any anywhere. This meant that rebels and Capitol fighters alike did not have enough nutrition to fight, leading to slow and painful deaths on both sides. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the male from Eleven.
"In the Dark Days, rebels in Twelve destroyed the coal mines, hoping to cause the citizens in the Capitol to freeze, as they thought that they could survive without the help from the Capitol. They were wrong. They froze in the winter, while those in the Capitol lived. This is where the rebellion led them," he said in front of the pair from Twelve.
Enobarbus held true to his word when he said he would kill one person from each District. On their hunts, they first found the boys from Three and Nine together. As Enobarbus had already killed the female from these two Districts, he let the other Careers have their fun in killing these tributes. However, where he saw the girl from Eleven on the fourth day, Enobarbus dived forward before any other Career could, and skewered the girl through the back.
After the cannon fired, Enobarbus heard an arrow being drawn by Glow behind him. Enobarbus turned around sharply and ducked just in time for the arrow to fly over his head. Athena quickly retaliated by slitting Glows throat, before Enobarbus dived forward and gutted Sparkle. The pair from Four looked on, and said nothing, letting the Twos kill the Ones.
"They died faster then I thought they would," remarked Starboard. Aqua nodded in agreement.
"In the Dark Days, people in One tainted beauty products with acid and poison. This killed many, many women in the Capitol, including the First Lady at the time, Armeni Wayne. This is where the rebellion led them," Enobarbus said.
The remaining four Careers headed back to the Cornucopia. However, before they could, mutts attacked them. There were five lion mutts in front of them, all growling. The mutts dived forward, and the claws swung towards the careers. The fight lasted long, and was very hard. Aqua died in the fight, and Enobarbus was badly hurt. The other mutts were all dead, but Enobarbus' wounds were still quite bad. He had a giant slash down his chest, from one of his shoulders, down to his hip. He was bleeding very badly.
"Shall we take him to the Cornucopia," asked Athena "or shall we leave him here? Only one of us can win after all."
"I think it should be the first," replied Starboard, looking down at Enobarbus.
"I am sorry Enobarbus. I promise a District Two Victory," said Athena.
Athena and Starboard both went on their way to the Cornucopia, leaving Enobarbus on the ground, struggling to breath.
"Please, I need more time. I am not finished my mission. I have not finished my duty to Panem," wheezed Enobarbus.
Even as the District silently prayed for him to die, Enobarbus was given top tier healing cream by sponsors. It took a few minutes, but Enobarbus eventually managed to heal himself. "Thank you, for your kindness and generosity, I will ensure to make a kill soon to thank you." He said after he was ready to move.
Within two hours, not only had the boy from Eight died, but Enobarbus had made it back to the Cornucopia. As soon as he got into the meadow, he ran full speed at Athena and Starboard. Both of them were shocked. Before Starboard could move, his head had been taken off his shoulders. Athena however, managed to grab a spear, and parry Enobarbus' attack. Athena darted backwards, and held her spear at the ready. Enobarbus dived forward, and clashed with Athena.
It took twelve minutes of darting, parrying and weaving for Enobarbus to finally land the killing blow on Athena. She collapsed to the ground, holding the wound in her chest, gasping for breath.
"Win. Win it for Two," she gasped, with something close to respect in her eyes. Enobarbus nodded. "I will. You fought valiantly." He then stabbed his sword down into her head. The cannon fired, and Enobarbus crouched down, and closed Athenas' eyes.
"In the Dark Days, Two was not innocent. Brother turned on brother. Sisters fought each other until very little remained. Quarries were made to collapse, and Blacksmiths made weapons, that were handed out to citizens in the District. This is where the rebellion led them," he said.
"In the Dark Day, people in Four drove ships into houses and other ships, killing many people, Capitol and rebel alike. They drowned, cold and alone, with no honour or respect. This is where the rebellion led them," he said, standing in front of Starboard.
Enobarbus gathered up more supplies, and went on his way. "Just three more tributes, one from Five, Seven and the traitor from Eight left."
The next day Flash, the boy from Five, was being attacked by a lion. He fought with all his might, but was eventually cornered. Just as he was ready to die, the point of a sword suddenly appeared through the head of the lion. The body fell off the sword, and onto the ground. Flash looked up at his saviour.
When he saw Enobarbus, Flash started thanking him over and over again, promising to fight for him to the end. Halfway through Flash's' speech, Enobarbus plunged his sword into Flash's' body, piercing his heart.
"I will not let mutts stop me from completing my goal," he muttered, glaring at the lion. Enobarbus then stalked off, ready to look for the final two tributes.
"Carry on sending me Mutts. They were not innocent in the Dark Days. So many deaths on both sides can be attributed to mutts," he shouted. The Gamemakers happily obliged.
Enobarbus continued to slay mutts as he walked through the arena, clearing the mountain over the next two day. Both remaining tributes were in the forest. The Gamemakers decided to make it slightly easier for him, by burning some of the forest, while making sure to not kill either Acre, the male from Seven, nor Bobbin. Enobarbus ran into Acre the next day. Acre had two hatchets with him, and was half starved, which made him slightly crazy. However, this craziness proved very useful, as it made him fight much harder.
First, Acre swung on of his hatchets at the left side of Enobarbus' face. He quickly parried, before dodging the second hatchet. Enobarbus dived forward, but was held off by both of Acre's hatchets. This carried on for almost an hour, with both tributes finding it hard to break through the others defence. However, in the end, Acre was younger and had less practice, so he tired first. Enobarbus finally managed to disarm Acre, before slitting his throat. Acre collapsed to the ground, flopping like a fish out of water.
"You did well. I respect you. Your parents should be proud of your sacrifice," said Enobarbus, before dealing the final blow to Acre, and sounding his cannon. "Bobbin is all that's left. I shall require a little bit to heal myself before I fight him. I shall let you know when I am ready. By my will, he shall die, learning that sacrifice is necessary for this Nations survival." The Gamemakers were more than happy to let him have as long as he wants, they focused all their attention on keeping Bobbin alive.
The people of Panem were feeling one of two ways:
The Capitol and all Peacekeepers, along with most of District Two, were happy for Enobarbus, and ready to watch him kill Bobbin and win the Games.
The Districts and all Victors were hoping Enobarbus' arrogance would be his downfall, and Bobbin would kill him and emerge victorious.
Enobarbus took two hours to get ready, but by the evening of that day, he told the Gamemakers he was ready to fight Bobbin. Enobarbus stood there, holding his sword, ready for the boy from Eight to appear in the meadow. Bobbin suddenly burst from the forest, being chased by over one hundred snakes. Both tributes quickly climbed up onto the Cornucopia, and held their weapons ready. Enobarbus had a sword, while Bobbin had a scythe.
"Are you going to lecture me Eno? On what my District did 'wrong' in the Dark Days? On how this should be 'an honour' that I am in the final fight?" asked Bobbin.
"You should be grateful that you are here. You are being given a chance to sacrifice your life for the future of our nation. So innocents do not have to die," said Enobarbus, full of pride, With your sacrifice, your sibling will not have to die a slow and painful death. They get to live long and happy lives, protected, loved and cared for by the Capitol."
"My sister is dead," spat Bobbin. "She died of starvation over the past year, because the Capitol refuses to send enough food to District Eight. She died, and I barley survived. Many people in District resort to eating the dead to stay alive."
"You are lying," replied Enobarbus "The Capitol would never allow that to happen. The only reason people starved in the Dark Days was due to Rebels in Nine and Eleven."
"God you are so bloody stupid," said Bobbin. "I hope one day, you finally get off your Masters' lap and realise how backwards and wrong the Hunger Games are. I know that you want to kill one person from every District. I also know you didn't kill my District partner, those Lions' did." As Bobbin said all this, he threw aside his weapon, and pulled out a handful of poisonous berries. "I know I cannot defeat you. I just hope you will realise one day how wrong this all is. How these Games kill people like my District Partner, who's only crime was crying as she was scared that she would die. Goodbye."
Bobbin made to swallow the berries, but before he could, Enobarbus cut his arm off. Enobarbus then stabbed Bobbin through the shoulder, pinning him to the Cornucopia.
"I will not let you make a fool of the All-Knowing and Great Capitol." Snarled Enobarbus. "In the Dark Days, you cowardly rebels in Eight did many things. You stole material, and fashioned them into ropes. These ropes were then used to hang innocent soldiers, who only wanted to prevent further bloodshed. You painted the roped red with their blood. You also put diseases and other harmful substances into the clothes you sent to the Capitol. This caused harm and death to the people of the Capitol. You sewed tiny bombs into clothes, and not only sent them to the Capitol, but also to your own soldiers. You blew innocent people in the Capitol up, and used your own troops as living bombs, letting them be captured, and them detonating the bombs, killing your own troops as well as Peacekeepers. This is where the rebellion led you," he finished, before ripping his sword out of Bobbins shoulder, and slicing his head off.
The cannon fired, followed by the trumpets signalling Enobarbus' Victory. He roared in triumph, before saluting the Capitol. "Glory to the Capitol. Panem today. Panem tomorrow, Panem Forever!"
Enobarbus was one of the most beloved Victors by the Capitol of all time. However, he was hated by the Districts. His Victory Tour resulted in all District apart from One, Two and Four pelting him with rotten food (or rotted wood in Sevens' case). In his own District, Lupus loathed him. Enobarbus took over the Training Hall, as per President Ravinstills own orders. Lupus was still allowed there, but was only allowed to train the students with weapons, and was watched by people from the Capitol. District Two soon became known for tributes and Victors that were loyal to the Capitol, at least outwardly.
In the Victors circle, Enobarbus was alone. Illinois, Angelina, Lupus, Orchid, Coalette and Sawyer all hated him, and most future Victors did. In his lifetime, a total of four more loyalist Victors emerged from the Games; Fours' Chloe Irving from the Twenty-Second, Ones' Franc Flawless from the Thirty-Second, Twos' Malachite Harpsong-Juol from the Thirty-Seventh and Fives' Shakti Lisokan from the Fifty-Seventh. These were the only four Victors Enobarbus got on with before his death. However, both Malachite and Shakti could see flaws in the Capitol. Malachite campaigned for training centers in all Districts, while Shakti was vocal about the unfairness of District wealth gaps.
After Snow fell shorty after the Seventy-Fifth Games, and President Krinolad stepped up, both of these complaints were adressed, and life became much easier for people in the Districts, but we have a long time before we get to that.

A/N: Here we are. I am back. It took me a long time to figure out how to write about Enobarbus, and I had to restart once because I hated what I wrote, but I am happy with this. I hope you enjoyed. Next, we see a previous character return, and become he Victor. See you then!
Also, yes this was heavily inspired by Olga Machete from "Cheating Death: Those That Lived" by CragmiteBlaster
