The Sons of Thor reflect on what has happened, while the Sons of Odin plan to seek out an old acquaintance.

The three were walking back in the direction of Tyr's Temple in the Lake of the Nine, they were near a body of water that led to the lake. Heimdall had suddenly stopped and raised his sword into the air. Shooting a blast of bifrost energy into the sky, and soon it was met with a bolt of lightning and the roar of thunder in a cloudless sky in return.

Not long after a streak of lightning began to move toward them, as it got closer the roaring crackle of thunder soon abruptly stopped and Thor landed to his feet. Looking out towards their direction, Modi almost thought he saw a look of sadness, or relief, and then came his father's trademark look of simmering fury.

"Did you see the ones who did this?" Modi saw his father stare down his purple-eyed uncle, but strangely Heimdall seemed more annoyed than anything.

"Yes, the tattooed man and his son were close to killing them."

"Close?" Thor affixed a stern gaze towards his sons "What happened?"

"We demanded that they surrender." Magni spoke first. "The Giant wanted answers, but we refused. I took on this giant, Modi took on the runt."

"You fought too fairly. Thor said to Magni before turning to Modi. "And perhaps you underestimated the kid. What happened to your arms, Magni?"

"The Giant's axe struck my arms, they are healing kind of slowly."

A brief look of worry came across Thor's face, before he shook his head, almost frustrated.

"We have to help him, even if Baldur wasn't going to be pissed off."

Heimdall saw the furious visage of Baldur scowling in his brother's eyes.

"You and your idiot sons fucked this up after all."

Heimdall sighed as if to reply to his brother. "Baldur's barely agreeable when he's not angry."

"Do you think she could help us?" Thor said out of his sons' hearing as Heimdall's eyes widened. "She always did like the woods here on Midgard, then the plains of Asgard."

"You want to ask Frigg of all people? Even if we found her, the only thing she would be concerned about most of the time after Baldur was born, was his safety." The Watchman's face twisted into a scowl. "Well that, and her discontent with father."

"Maybe we can make a deal with her?"

"We should talk about this away from them, we don't need more people knowing about this insanity then just us two." Thor gave a quick nod, and he turned back toward his sons.

"Modi." The red headed son of Thor stood at attention "We are going to see if we can get something to heal Magni's arms make sure to keep watch."

"Sure." Modi saw his father and uncle turn around and leave.

A moment has passed with only the

"What, no insults?" Magni had a pained smile on his face. "Nothing about how the only thing to keep watch against is boredom?"

If it was a joke, Modi wasn't laughing.

"If Heimdall wasn't there, you could have been killed."

"And? Isn't Valhala what we are after anyway?"

"Maybe, but I'd be pissed at you if you died before I can prove I'm better than you." Magni smiled a little. "Anyway none of this seems right, can you hear me out on this."

Magni rolled his eyes. "You're still on about this, when did you become Forseti?" Modi just glared in response. "Alright, It's not like we have anywhere else to go."

"We fought in the Long War Magni, we aren't the greatest of warriors of the Aesir, but we are warriors nonetheless. We nearly could have died to some strange Jotunn and his shitstain of a runt."

"Alright?" The response was quick and irritated."

"Two days ago our father came back looking like shit with some deep wound in his chest and he's been nicer to me than he has been since we were kids."

"I told you he would come around." Another uneasy smile of Magni's met a thoughful look from his brother. "I don't think our competition is as one-sided as father thinks, maybe he's finally realizing it." Modi barely acknowledged it as if there were other things to worry about.

"And, this is after we find out our uncle who is invincible was beaten back by some Jotunn, the very same Jotunn who bested us, and that we choose to not fight with our other uncle who is untouchable?"

"It does seem very strange, but what is the point?"

"I don't think this was a Jotun, and that axe, it could come back to that warrior's hands on command. Almost as if the Huldra brother's made it."

"Yeah it reminds me of Mjolnir, but if he's not a Jotunn then what is he?" A look of thought appeared on the blonde haired god's face. "A God from who knows where?"

"He might be." Modi answered as if it was a serious question "but what he doing here, doesn't he have a home to go back to?"

"Who knows. If he is a God, then why the Hel would Baldur go and fight him?"

"Because as Mimir would say, he's cracked."

"And I take your not here to brag about it? Because you were right before we found those two, that Baldur isn't right in the head."

"No, I think Father and Heimdall know something and are hiding it from us."

Magni wanted to do more than roll his eyes. "Now you sound 'cracked' almost like Forsetti. Sure, Father isn't stupid, as much as Grandfather likes to believe, but what could he be hiding from us?" [1]

"I don't know, but I intend to find out, but right now I'm waiting with you, until they get back."

"What could they possibly get back that could help me?" Magni kicked the ground, since it was all he could do. "You don't think they're gonna see her do you?"

"She is stuck here, and the Vanir always were better healers than fighters. It might be the only fucking thing that makes any sense. What are we supposed to tell Grandfather about this? I say, we tell him nothing."

Magni only shook his head. "He barely gives father the time of day unless he sends him somewhere, or he wants to argue with him. If he takes it out on him we should say something."

"Ugh, fine this shit was Baldur's idea anyway."

"I hope they don't take too long if you're going to be weird, maybe you could finally beat me then."

"Fuck you, Mags." Magni managed a pained laugh, before his brother laughed as well.

[1] I feel if a much younger Aesir like Thrud can definitely know her dad and grandfather have issues with each other, I feel Magni and Modi would have to know too.

I hope no one minds a Magni and Modi chapter, even if I feel really guilty about it's length. I have a lot I want to do with them, beyond they just survive so this is something of a set up for some other things I want to do. Also I'm using this to set up meeting (almost) everyone's favorite Queen of the Vanir next chapter.
