Hi beautiful people! I hope you're having a lovely day :)
I'm Miss Emotion and I'm so excited to share this oneshot with you! You might recognise my name from comments under dcmk fics, from my old old stories on or the KaiShin discord. I have so many ideas for stories (that I cackle about inwardly, I love funny situations) and I'm in the process of writing some multichip stories, oneshots etc. While I was sick recently, I had this idea and I actually finished it! A moment of applause.

My sister, who is also a detective conan fan, read it when it was a third of the way done and said to me 'Where's the rest?' XD She suffers so you don't have to, dear readers. But anyway she motivated me to finish it. Enjoy!

"You know Kuroba-kun has never turned down a dare, he was dared to run around campus in his underwear before and he did it," a dark-haired boy explained loudly, as if the magician in question wasn't sat right in front of him.

"What? No way," a guy in Shinichi's forensics' class exclaimed.

"But you can't dare him anything illegal or immoral. That's the rules," the dark-haired boy continued explaining.

Shinichi sat on a comfy cushion with his back against the wall and his nose in a book. Ran and Sonoko were sat chatting nearby, while the detective was reading the latest instalment in a mystery series he was following. Well, he had been actually reading until KID's civilian identity had shown up in the common room of their university with a group of friends and begun playing 'Truth or Dare.'

This is the closest Shinichi has been to the thief's civilian identity.

When Shinichi had started attending Tokyo University alongside his close friends, Shinichi had arranged to have breakfast with them before going on a tour of the campus. For once the detective had been early, and in boredom, was scanning the occupants of the cafeteria. The door opened, and someone with an unruly bedhead walked in sleepily wiping his eyes. As the guy removed the hand from his eyes, Shinichi's eyebrows shot up in recognition; he knew that face. To Shinichi's amusement, KID had started yawning and halfway through, noticed the detective. The thief's eyes had widened to match his open mouth, before his poker face had slammed down. KID then quickly grabbed a croissant and left the room.

Shinichi had noticed KID a couple of times since then but decided to keep his distance. It didn't feel fair to unmask the thief outside of a heist. That didn't stop the detective from observing KID whenever Shinichi did catch a glimpse. The detective couldn't help his curiosity when it came to the thief. It had been interesting to discover that KID's hair hadn't been messy because of the way he slept that first day, but that he just naturally had curls sticking in all different directions.

Right now, as Shinichi's gaze deceptively focused on a page, he was discovering that the magician was charming yet more boyish than his alter ego.

"Hmm so you're saying I need to challenge him? Try and give him a dare he would refuse and then one of us would win?" the guy in Shinichi's forensics' class nodded, hand to his chin.

"Mm you can try," Kuroba snickered, patronisingly.

"Oh I've got one! I dare you to kiss…"

The rest of the guys started groaning, "Come on man, that's easy."

"Kudou Shinichi," Shinichi's forensics classmate finished. "Hakuba-san would've been better but a detective's a detective."

"Oh my god that's brilliant!"

Shinichi blinked in shock, before slowing turning a page of his book. The detective hadn't registered a word, but he had to keep up pretences, especially as the group was now most likely looking at him.

"You mean that high-school detective who took down that criminal organisation a few months ago?" a guy with bleached hair, most likely from the drama society, asked.

"He's not in high school anymore. He's actually in my forensics class and right there," Shinichi's classmate corrected.

"...Haha very funny," Kuroba laughed. "Leave the guy alone, why not nominate one of yourselves or are you too chicken?" At the magician's response, the group went silent for a few moments, before cackling in delight.

"Ah you chose right, Shuichi-kun! Kuroba-kun really doesn't want to do this dare," the dark-haired boy grinned.

"Out of curiosity, what's wrong with detectives?" another dark-haired boy with a block fringe asked.

"Nothing, it's just they reveal magicians' magic tricks sometimes so…"

"Guys it's not about whether I want to or not, it's just… Remember you can't give me an immoral dare and kissing someone randomly is…" Kuroba spoke up, in a weird tone of voice. Shinichi's eyes curiously peeked over the top of his book. The magician was seemingly put together, but his eyes were just a bit wider than normal, as if he was trying to control the situation but it was frantically slipping out of his hands.

Shinichi hid his amused expression behind his book, training his eyes on the middle of the page. KID, or rather Kuroba, was probably feeling a lot of conflict about having to kiss one of his pursuers, but also his reaction to the dare in general was hilarious to the detective.

"That's okay. You can just ask for permission," the guy in Shinichi's forensics class, who was apparently called Shuichi, said. At Shuichi's words, the group slumped defeated while the magician perked up.

"And if he says no, it still counts as me doing the dare," Kuroba checked, the detective could hear the victory in the magician's voice.

"I suppose," Shuichi nodded.

Kuroba stood up and sauntered over to the detective. Shinichi turned a page pretending to be immersed in his book. As the magician came to a standstill a few feet away from the detective, Shinichi moved his eyes across a line of a random page. He definitely was going to need to go back through the book and find where he had been originally.

"So?" Kuroba asked.

Shinichi's eyes flickered up to the magician's face, "Hmm?"

"So do I have your permission?" Kuroba's eyes widened, silently communicating 'say no'. The magician had abandoned the pretence that they don't know each other. And of course, being a professional phantom thief, Kuroba already knew that Shinichi had been listening to the whole conversation.

Shinichi understood the magician perfectly, but just because he was no longer Conan, didn't mean that he was no longer a little shit, "Sure."

Kuroba's group of friends whooped in the background, as Kuroba blinked a few times, not expecting Shinichi's answer. The magician then let out a hybrid between a laugh and a sigh, as he scratched the back of his hair. Shinichi momentarily wondered how the texture of the thief's hair would feel. "I don't think you heard me. I was dared to kiss you but you see, I can't if you say no," Kuroba leant his head slightly forward, staring the detective in the eyes.

"Yeah that's okay," Shinichi answered, nonchalantly.

"Yeah as in no thank you or?"

Shinichi couldn't help the smile that came on his face, Kuroba was hilarious. The detective raised his eyebrows, "Yeah as in, yes. You have my permission."

Kuroba gawked at the detective, poker face forgotten for a few moments, "What?" The magician's cheeks reddened as his eyes darted down to Shinichi's mouth and up to his eyes again. Kuroba then straightened up, composing himself, "You can't be… Are you serious?"

"Yes," Shinichi repeated for hopefully the last time. "You have my permission, Kuroba-san." The magician had managed to get his body language under control, but unfortunately, he couldn't control everything. To Shinichi's delight, Kuroba was blushing. The detective wondered what his next move would be.

Kuroba looked to the side, muttering quietly, "Want to kiss me that bad, meitantei?" Kuroba's eyes then focused on Shinichi, observing him.

Ah so that was his tactic.

"Whatever," Shinichi rolled his eyes, and settled comfortably back into his cushion, opening his book wider. The detective raised his voice so Kuroba's friends could hear, "If Kuroba-san doesn't do the dare, it has nothing to do with me." Shinichi looked up with a smirk, "Guess you broke your streak."

Kuroba's jaw dropped, the corners of his lips quirked upwards as he stared back at Shinichi. Jeers and laughs erupted from the group playing the game.

Shinichi focused his attention back on his book, dismissing the magician. He flicked back a few pages, trying to find where he originally was. Just as he found his place, the book was snatched out of his hands. Shinichi frowned, "What?" Kuroba was suddenly in his space, leaning close.

Shinichi immediately backed away, "W-Woah, what are you…"

Kuroba's mouth opened into 'ah' shape, triumphantly. "Look who's backing out now?"

This close Shinichi could see that Kuroba's eyes weren't the same shade of blue as the detective's. There was a hint of an otherworldly indigo colour.

Shinichi straightened up with a scoff, "I'm not backing out, I just… A bit of warning first." To his horror, the detective could feel his face heating up.

"Mmhm," the magician luckily didn't mention it, just put Shinichi's book to the side. "Ready?"

Shinichi breathed in then out, feeling like somehow he had less oxygen than before. The detective nodded, then closed his eyes. For a few moments nothing happened, then Shinichi felt Kuroba come closer until the detective could feel his breath on his lips.

Kuroba closed the distance. Their lips pressed gently together.

A beat.

Shinichi's hands quivered in midair, then he lowered them to place them down. Down so happened to be Kuroba's thighs, as they were seated so close. Shinichi's fingers tightened around the muscles of the magician's legs. At Shinichi's touch, Kuroba's hand raised his chin and he kissed Shinichi. The magician's lips moved against the detective's, deepening the kiss.

Shinichi felt helpless and like he was drowning in the best way. Giving in to his impulses, Shinichi dove his hands into the magician's hair to find out it was so soft.

Kuroba bit the bottom of Shinichi's lip, slowly scraping his teeth then soothing it with a flick of his tongue. In response to all the sensations, Shinichi pulled gently on the magician's hair. Kuroba's hand on Shinichi's face moved from his chin to his cheek, as his other hand sneaked around the detective's waist, pulling him closer till they were practically in each other's laps.

Suddenly Shinichi lost his balance. Their lips separated, as the detective fell backwards while his arms sprung to the side, circling in a fight to stop the fall.

Kuroba quickly reacted, putting his hand behind the detective's head, cushioning the impact against the wall. The magician's eyes focused on Shinichi's, observing the detective for a sign of injury. Shinichi simply stared back, breathing a little quicker than normal.

This felt familiar. Here they were, KID saving Shinichi yet again. The thief had leaped out of an airship to save his bespectacled ass before, disguised as the detective to help hide his identity, piloted a plane with Shinichi… the list goes on. Except the difference was that they had also just kissed. Shinichi had just made out with the Kaitou Kid.

And he wanted to do it again. What was wrong with him?

As his thoughts wandered, Shinichi's eyes dropped to the magician's lips. They were shiny and tinged with red. A large part of him wanted to go dive back in and avoid the 'what just happened' moment.

Kuroba's lips smirked. Shinichi's eyes snapped up to meet Kuroba's mischievously glinting ones. The magician's indigo blue eyes slowly travelled to the detective's lips, before leisurely looking back to Shinichi with a hunger. Shinichi was promptly reminded that Kuroba's hand was still behind his head, that the magician was leaned slightly over him. The position should have made the detective feel uncomfortable, but on the contrary, it excited him.

That was what scared him. If Kuroba leaned in and kissed him again, Shinichi wouldn't want to stop him. And they had to stop because… they were in a room full of people, the detective abruptly remembered.

Shinichi broke the intense eye contact and looked to the side, raising his hand in a stop gesture, "Thanks for… my head. Can you move back?"

"Of course," Kuroba answered, in a polite tone. Shinichi looked back at his face to find a self-assured tilt to the magician's lips, the confidence in his gaze was unfairly attractive. To the students behind Kuroba, they wouldn't see anything unusual, but that was because Kuroba's expression was for him and him only.

Kuroba stood up and shamelessly bowed to the room, as if what just happened was a planned performance, then walked over to sit back down with his classmates. Some asked him about the kiss, but the smooth-talking magician easily changed the subject, and started the game back up again.

Shinichi shakily picked up his book from where Kuroba had placed it, opened it to a random page, and proceeded to hide his face in it. After a few minutes of processing, he felt two people sit on either side of him. The detective lowered the book to peek over, only to see Ran and Sonoko sitting next to him with expressions full of glee. Oh no.

"I think I know why you and Ran didn't work out," Sonoko grinned.

Shinichi rolled his eyes, "I'm not gay, Sonoko!"

"How about bi?"

"I-" Shinichi opened his mouth to retort back at the heiress, only to close it immediately. The detective thought back to the feeling of Kuroba's hands on his waist, the glint in his indigo eyes… "I-I don't know."

Shinichi's eyes wondered back to the magician. Kuroba was sat nonchalantly, occasionally laughing at his classmates' jokes. At the detective's gaze, Kuroba's eyes sharpened, looking over at Shinichi. Kuroba's subsequent smirk was full of dirty promises. It was as if the magician had heard Shinichi's conversation with Sonoko.

Kuroba neutrally looked back towards the group, his friends were none the wiser, while Shinichi subtly bit his lip as he felt his cheeks flood with heat at the magician's daring expression. It was so presumptuous.

"What do you mean 'I don't know'? I saw that look," Sonoko leaned closer to Shinichi's blushing face.

"Come on Sonoko," Ran scolded gently, while hiding an amused smile of her own. Shinichi sighed in relief, until Ran continued, "He just had his gay awakening, he needs some time."

"Ran I'm not gay," Shinichi complained, "I had feelings for you."

"Hm," Ran tilted her head, seemingly thinking over if she should speak or not.

"What?" Shinichi asked, half of him wasn't sure if he wanted her to answer.

"…You never kissed me like that though," Ran raised her eyebrows at him, her expression was too similar to Sonoko's for the detective's liking.

"We kissed once! Of course we didn't… Can we stop talking about this?" Shinichi put his face in his hands, he would probably be the first person to die of embarrassment if anyone else from their university got wind of this conversation.

Thankfully, the girls left him alone, both going over to sit on his right side and started chatting about the plan for Makoto's birthday. Shinichi was able to actually read some of his book that evening. Being Conan meant that he became used to the hustle and bustle, and when he came back to being Shinichi, his empty home could sometimes feel jarring. So instead of reading alone in his room, Shinichi preferred to be around his friends.

Shinichi turned a page in his book, almost managing to focus on the story. His thoughts couldn't help but go to the magician. Shinichi could still feel the tingle of Kuroba's kiss on his lips.

Every now and then, the detective would peer over his novel, to find Kuroba seemingly immersed in his game or sometimes already watching him. When that happened, Shinichi was transported to moonlit rooftops where their eyes met in challenge. Shinichi stifled the urge to move; it felt so strange to just sit where he was and not go to the magician.

Shinichi looked at Kuroba again. Before the kiss, the magician had been pink and off-balance, while after he had been smirking like he'd just stolen a priceless treasure under the taskforce's noses. The detective wondered what would happen if he didn't look away the next time Kuroba looked at him.

Shinichi traced his eyes up Kuroba's slender neck, his jaw line, the stupidly attractive grin on his face… When the detective met Kuroba's gaze looking straight at him, Shinichi noticed the magician's eyes were wider than normal and his grin was becoming open-mouthed.

Shinichi had just checked Kuroba out right in front of him.

Oh well, as embarrassing as it was, there was nothing to be done about it now. It was time Shinichi took a leaf out of the thief's book and acted a little shameless. Ignoring the nervous beating of his heart, Shinichi raised his eyebrow at Kuroba, looking back into his eyes.

Kuroba blinked twice then pressed his lips together, as he lowered his gaze. Kuroba looked up through his eyelashes at Shinichi, with a small secretive smile.

Shinichi felt his breath hitch at the unexpected expression.

One of Kuroba's classmates nudged him, making the magician reluctantly bring his attention back to the group.

.- ._.-._.-._.-.

Later, Shinichi had retired to his room and was just removing his tie when he heard a knock. The detective walked up to his door, wondering if it was Ran needing to borrow something. However, when Shinichi opened the door, the person on the other side was Kuroba, leaning against the doorframe with a sharklike grin.

"Nice room you got here," Kuroba remarked, as he strolled in without an invitation. "I would've expected more Holmes memorophilia but the lack of décor also makes sense."

Shinichi whirled around, closing the door behind him without thinking, "Oh? So we're not pretending we don't know each other anymore?"

"What do you mean?" Kuroba tilted his head with faux innocence. "You were my first kiss after all."

"There's no way that was-!" Shinichi cut himself off, as he saw the thief smirk at him.

"No way? How come?" Kuroba's voice was like silk as he walked closer to Shinichi.

"Stop fishing for compliments, stupid thief," Shinichi folded his arms, leaning against the door.

"How am I a thief? Wait don't tell me…" Kuroba's eyes widened, jokingly. "I stole your first kiss!"

Shinichi rolled his eyes, trying to stifle an amused smile. The detective lowered his chin, focusing his blue eyes on the magician, "You know what I'm talking about… KID."

Kuroba stared at the detective for a moment, making Shinichi think he was about to deny it, until the thief showed his infamous KID grin, "My my meitantei. Can't leave a mystery alone, can you?"

Shinichi's whole being was focused on the thief in front of him, whenever KID was involved, nothing else could divert his attention, "Well you know me."

"Yeah I do," Kuroba glanced at the detective's collar, where his tie was lying open. The magician picked up the edge of his tie and traced the material with his fingers. Shinichi's mouth went dry at the proximity. The detective had been close to the thief on many occasions, usually in his arms after KID had just saved him. But this was a different type of closeness… "You've grown up nicely, Meitantei."

"Uh thanks. You can call me by my name, you know."

"Okay… Shinichi," Kuroba answered with a self-satisfied smile.

"…I didn't say you could call me by my first name, idiot," Shinichi looked away, hyperaware of the thief's almost touch. Kuroba saying his first name did things to him.

"You can call me by my first name∼."

"I don't know your first name," Shinichi admitted.

"Oh? I would've thought you would've found out by now."

"It didn't… feel right. To pry," Shinichi shrugged, avoiding Kuroba's inquisitive gaze.

The magician dropped his tie and picked up Shinichi's hand, "My name is Kuroba Kaito, pleasure to meet you." He lowered his lips down, then gently let go of the detective's hand.

Shinichi's eyes widened, "Kaito."

Kaito's eyes took on a giddy sheen as he smiled at the detective, "Mmhm."

"Your name is Kaito," Shinichi frowned, incredulous. The Kaitou Kid's real name is Kaito, one kanji away from his alter ego's name.

"Yes, Shinichi. Can I call you Shinichi?" Kaito grinned, as he bit the edge of his lip.

Shinichi's eyes focused on the movement, then looked back at the magician. Realising Kaito had asked him a question, Shinichi decided to let the magician do whatever he wants, "Yeah. So… why did you come here?"

"Do I need an excuse to visit my favourite detective?"

"I think you're underestimating how… I know you too Kaito," Shinichi smirked at the magician. There was a clawing within the detective, with the urge to end this game, and skip to the real reason Kaito came. "Not as much as you know me, but… I know that you want something. So why don't you tell me what that is?"

Kaito's eyebrows rose at the detective's bold words, "Oh? Right to the chase, Shin-i-chi. Okay I'll indulge you. What I want is…" Shinichi watched the magician without blinking, as Kaito leaned forward to put his arms on either side of Shinichi's head. The detective blinked, his trousers suddenly feeling a little tighter.

Kaito grinned with bedroom eyes, pleased at whatever he saw in Shinichi's gaze, "You."

"O-Oh? What does ah having me mean?" Shinichi felt like a prey in the thief's grasp… and a traitorous part of himself loved it.

"Why don't you find out, Meitantei?" the tip of Kaito's tongue touched the bottom of his canine.

Shinichi swallowed, nervous. The part of his brain controlled by his nether regions wanted to just allow Kaito to have him in whatever way he means, but his logical brain needed to know what he was agreeing to. "So you just decided now that you want… me?"

"That's where you're wrong, Shinichi. Like I said… you've grown up nicely," Kaito's eyes traced down and up his body. "I like what I see."

Shinichi suddenly realised why Kaito had seemed nervous before kissing the detective, even tried to avoid it. It's because he actually wanted to but believed Shinichi didn't. The knowledge made something in Shinichi's heart flutter, it felt like his insides were hovering as Shinichi stared at the thief.

"I… might also like what I see," Shinichi admitted, watching Kaito's eyes widen and soften at the same time. The magician was cute when Shinichi complimented him.

"Yeah?" Kaito brought his face closer till their noses were touching.

"Yeah I just…" Shinichi brought his hand to touch Kaito's chest, feeling the fabric of his shirt. The detective was drawn to the magician like the earth was drawn to the sun, "I don't know if you mean you want to kiss me again or… something more."

"Whatever you want to give me," Kaito smiled gently.

Shinichi's hand scrunched up the magician's shirt, then breathed out shakily. "Just…" Shinichi looked up at Kaito's eyes, "Kiss me."

Their lips met like two polar magnets reuniting. They wouldn't be able to tell you who moved first. Shinichi pulled Kaito's shirt closer to him, needing him closer. In response, the magician pushed him against the door, slotting their bodies together.

Despite this, Shinichi wanted more. The detective dove his hands into Kaito's soft curls as the magician sucked on Shinichi's bottom lip.

"Mmm," Shinichi moaned at the feeling.

"Oh? You like that?" Kaito grinned against his lips.

"Sh-Shut," Shinichi tried to gasp out, but then the magician simultaneously sucked his bottom lip and did something with his tongue and Shinichi was weak.

Shinichi felt like he was being devoured as Kaito swirled his tongue around the detective's. The magician's fingers were gently tracing up and down Shinichi's neck, leaving fireworks in their wake.

Wanting to make the thief lose control, Shinichi pulled more harshly at Kaito's hair, making the magician's chin raise slightly. Taking the opportunity, Shinichi gently bit Kaito's bottom lip, and gently scraped his teeth through it. From how close their bodies were, the detective felt the magician's breath hitch.

Not holding back his smirk, Shinichi sucked Kaito's bottom lip before sensually moving his tongue around the magician's in a slower imitation of what Kaito had done previously. Shinichi felt Kaito's body becoming pliant, letting the detective lead.

Shinichi couldn't get enough of the magician. One of the detective's hands traced the back of Kaito's neck, then moved so his nails lightly skimmed down the front to his collar bone. At this moment, Kaito took Shinichi's chin and raised it to capture the detective's bottom lip, making Shinichi grateful that he was leaning against his door as his knees weren't feeling particularly solid.

As soon as Kaito's tongue nudged his bottom lip, Shinichi opened his mouth, letting the thief in. Both of them were getting desperate, drunk on the other.

Shinichi grabbed at the collar of Kaito's shirt, wanting to feel the magician's skin. Kaito separated their lips with a soft chuckle, the magician took Shinichi's hands and guided them under his shirt, "You can if you want."

Promptly, Shinichi slid his hands underneath feeling Kaito's strong back, his muscles were lean like an acrobat; probably from all the gymnastics the thief did. The detective gently scratched down Kaito's back, feeling the magician shiver.

Shinichi did it again, this time Kaito seemed to have gained more control and didn't react but the detective could sense the magician liked it. Determined to get more reactions like that (and wanting to feel more of Kaito), Shinichi brought his hands to Kaito's front.

Kaito's front was chiseled with a defined abdomen and pectoral muscles, and Shinichi was insatiable. The detective traced between Kaito's six pack, making the sensitive muscles underneath Shinichi's hand jump at his touch.

Shinichi's fingers then went upwards, accidentally flicking one of Kaito's nipples. The magician's hand on Shinichi's neck stopped moving momentarily, then continued softly moving up and down as if Kaito was trying to concentrate. Aha. Shinichi went back to the magician's nipple and pinched.

"A-Ah," Kaito moaned, breathily.

The sound went straight to Shinichi's groin, and then the detective wasn't so sure if he wanted to just stick to kissing.

Kaito pulled away from the kiss, resting his forehead against Shinichi's, "I think we should stop… I can't keep kissin- I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from touching you."

Shinichi only felt delighted at that information.

Kaito leaned back, looking at the detective hungrily. His pupils were blown wide, his hand was clutching the neck of Shinichi's shirt, with fingers tracing the little skin he could reach from there.

Shinichi wanted to take Kaito's shirt off and look at all the skin he was touching. He wanted the magician's skillful hands to touch him. He wanted it so much, but his logical mind also knew he wasn't ready for that yet.

That didn't mean Shinichi couldn't cop one last feel. As the detective lowered his hands out of the magician's shirt, Shinichi pinched both of Kaito's nipples then moved his hands out.

"Hah," Kaito gasped, eyes widening in unexpected pleasure. The image was ingrained into Shinichi's brain.

"Mmm okay," Shinichi answered Kaito's earlier comment, not without a small grin at the magician's reaction. The detective put his hands by his sides to try and keep himself from touching Kaito again.

"Meitantei, you're really overestimating my control," Kaito stared at him with wild eyes.

"I can't help it, you're really hot," Shinichi teased, cheekily. The detective felt his cheeks flush as the compliment left his lips; the look the magician was giving him made him giddy, making his thoughts spill out.

Kaito gasped, pleased. The magician put his hand over his face as he grinned widely, "Shinichi."

The tone the magician used when using his first name made the detective feel like fire was dancing down his body. Shinichi didn't want Kaito to leave, it felt like a war between his rational brain and his desires. He wanted to take the magician's clothes off, he also knew he needed a little more time before actual sex.

Shinichi groaned in his indecision, pushing his fringe off his face with his hand. His pupils were probably just as large as the magician's. Shinichi gazed at Kaito, observing his deliciously disheveled appearance.

Kaito's fingers traced his own lips, then he blinked as if he was trying to compose himself, "Okay I'm going before I end up pushing you onto the bed and vanishing your clothes."

Shinichi's breath hitched, "Are you trying to deter me?"

Kaito paused at Shinichi's response, the magician scanned the detective's face, bringing the fingers on his lips down. Kaito's eyes narrowed as he smirked at Shinichi, "If you want something, you should say it."

"Gah!" Shinichi pushed Kaito out of his room, as his heart thundered inside his chest.

"Oh now you're feeling shy," Kaito laughed as Shinichi's cheeks burned.

"I'm- I'm not shy! I just…" Shinichi pouted slightly, a mannerism he acquired from his Conan days.

"Shinichi, you're too cute," Kaito smiled at him. The corridor light shone onto his indigo blue eyes.

Shinichi rolled his eyes, "I'm not cute. At least not anymore."

"Oh to the contrary, I think you're way cuter now," Kaito winked.

Shinichi looked away as he felt his lips pull into a smile, "…Go to your room," the detective looked back at the magician, "Where is your room anyway?"

"Why do you want to know? Are you planning on visiting me?"

"So what if I did?" Shinichi raised an eyebrow.

"Then…" Kaito started, secretively. Shinichi leaned closer to the magician, still holding onto his door. "I would tell you my room is 278 but I've changed the sign to 269. And to never open the door by yourself."

"You've set traps on your dorm room?" Shinichi asked, amused.

"I'm neither confirming nor denying that," Kaito's eyes twinkled mischievously at him.

Shinichi gazed into Kaito's expressive eyes, the detective wanted to learn more about the magician. Here was the phantom thief's civilian identity, literally living in the same building as him. Shinichi wanted to know how he grew up, what TV he liked to watch when he relaxed, how he decorated his room. Detectives were forever curious after all.

"Are you free at noon tomorrow?" Shinichi asked, the words stumbling out his mouth.

"I should be," Kaito answered, in a flirty tone. "Why?"

"We could have lunch? If you want," Shinichi shrugged, feeling weirdly nervous.

Kaito blinked in surprise, then looked downwards for a moment before looking at Shinichi with a small smile, "I would love that."

The detective and magician gazed at each other for a few moments. Kaito's eyes dropped to Shinichi's lips.

"If you want something…" Shinichi teased, repeating Kaito's earlier words.

Kaito laughed gently, before touching his lips to Shinichi's.

For a moment, their lips pressed softly against each other's, until the magician started moving with a purpose. Kaito slowly moved his lips then sucked Shinichi's bottom lip while tracing it with his tongue. Shinichi's breath hitched in response to the pleasure.

Shinichi leaned back with a furious blush, very aware that they were kissing in their university's corridor where anyone could walk by any moment, "Okay okay… go to your room."

Kaito grinned confidently at him, "See you tomorrow, Shinichi."

Shinichi nodded, "Yeah see you tomorrow, Kaito."

Kaito pressed his lips into a close-mouthed smile, as he looked at the detective then walked away with a wave. Shinichi watched him for a few moments before he went back into his room and leaned against his door, a position reminiscent of how he had been merely minutes before.

Shinichi put his face in his hands, as he thought about the way Kaito left fires on the detective's lips, his skin, the way the magician himself had gasped, the effortless banter they shared. Shinichi's hands slid off his face, as the detective grinned.

Shinichi was looking forward to seeing Kaito tomorrow.

When my sister finished reading this, she asked me again 'Where's the rest?'. I was planning to have this be a one-shot and told her how I actually planned to finish it after Shinichi had his little bi crisis on one side of the room. She gave me a joke death glare HAHA. Luckily, I felt compelled to add more. If you have similar feelings to my sister and want to see this continued, let me know~

Thank you so much for reading! It means a lot to me. Posting my writing is something I haven't done in a long time. I would love to hear if you enjoyed it ^^ Whether it's a small comment saying 'I loved it!' or more detailed eg if a section made you laugh.

Take care of yourself, fellow fan! See you next time!
