Next chapter! I have tried to update quickly, but its fr failing.

Annabeth P.O.V.

That night, I had a nightmare. Which wasn't surprising, seeing as I had them almost every night.

The first thing I did that morning was check my clock. It read 6:38am. Good enough.

Feeling anxious and sticky with sweat, I hopped in the shower.

I sank into the steamy water, and let it rinse away my sweat and tears. I defiantly stayed in there longer than strictly necessary, but nobody cared anymore.

But, soon I knew it would be time to get out and face the facts.

So, I quickly get dressed at stumbled into the elevator, closing my eyes so tight I was worried I might get an eye contusion. But, then I heard the familiar binggg of the elevator hitting the right floor and quickly walked out. There, I realized I had no idea where I was, not paying attention the night before.

"Hey, uh, JARVIS?" I asked tentatively.

"Yes, Miss Chase?"

"Call me Annabeth, but can you please tell me the way to the kitchen?"

"Of course, Annabeth." As JARVIS led me, I made sure to pay attention to every twist and turn. Though, it really wasn't as complicated than I would have thought.

"Where is everybody?" I asked

"Mr. Stark is sleeping, Captain Rogers is running with Ms. Romanov. Thor is in New Asgard, and Clint is hiding in the vents. Though Captain Rogers should be back in approximately 3 minutes." Those must be the people Tony was telling me about, yesterday.

"Oh. Uh, Thanks." I looked around the kitchen, trying to find something edible. Sadly, the only stuff I could find was a half eaten slice of pizza, and a box of pop tarts. And I wasn't about to eat those for breakfast. I guess my uncle ate at restaurants a-lot. And didn't eat breakfast.

I sighed. Just then, three people burst in, sweaty and red-faced. They looked shocked to see me, some random teenage girl sitting at the barstools of Tony Starks kitchen.

"Who are you?" One of them said

"Annabeth Chase. Did Tony not tell you about me?"

"No. Why are you here?" Spoke a lady with red hair

"Uh, my family. They, uh turned to dust." I said as I fought to contain tears, "Tony is my uncle, or something. And he volunteered to take care of me."

"Oh. I'm sorry." said the red-haired lady again.

"What are your names?" I asked, realizing that I was identifying them by their hair colors.

"Natasha. I also go by Black Widow. And this is Steve. Also known as Captain America." I suddenly became more cautious of Natasha. Going by a type of spider was defiantly not fun.

I nodded, and checked the time again, not knowing what to do.

"Is there a phone I could maybe borrow?" I asked hopefully. I knew it was weird that a teenager in the 21st century didn't have a phone, but I had been forced to ditch mine before out last quest to avoid any unnecessary monster encounters.

"You don't have one?" Natasha asked, her eyes scanning my body as if I were a potential threat.

"If I did, do you seriously thing I'd be asking for one?" I asked sarcastically

"You can borrow mine." Steve said from the fridge, apparently also looking for something to eat, "Gosh, we need to go grocery shopping."

"Thats on my to-do list, actually."

"Great." He said as he handed me the phone.

Luckily, I had memorized Sally's phone number when Percy went missing. So, I dialed it.

"Hello, this is Sally." She sounded stuffy, as if she was trying to stop herself from crying.

"Sally? This is Annabeth."

"Oh, Annabeth, sweetie. I was so worried. Are you ok?" I quickly left the room so nobody would hear my conversation

"No, my family... I don't know what happened. I'm staying with my uncle Tony Stark. What about you, are you ok?"

"No, well, Estelle is ok, and so is Percy. But, Paul, he never came home. And Percy said a-lot of people from camp disappeared as well." I gasped.

"Why don't I come over? I'm only a few blocks away."

"That would be great, honey."

"Ok, say hi to Estelle and Percy for me. Love you."

"Love you too. I'll see you later."

I smiled, it had been a long tome since it seemed like anybody actually cared about me.

I walked back into the kitchen, surprised to see my uncle there, drinking a mug of hot coffee. I handed the phone back to Steve, thanking him.

"Morning." I said, "Can I go to a friends house?"

"Why?" Tony asked

"To see her? Why else?" I thought it would be wise to say I was visiting Sally, rather than Percy.

"I don't know. How late will you be out?"

"I'll probably eat dinner there, seeing as we have no food here. And I'm going to go grocery shopping. I'll be back by 10 at the latest."

"Ok. Have fun."

I quickly slipped my shoes on, ran to the elevator, and walked out the door.
