Dahl is one of several Megacorporations in control of this galaxy.

I don't know why that information is retained in my brain but not his name or personal information, but I don't really have the time to question it.

So, What do we know of the Dahl corporation?

As I've previously said, they're one of several Major Megacorporations that control large parts of the galaxy.

They pride themselves on their Function over Form mindset, keeping their products simple yet reliable.

Dahl is easily the most militaristic out of the Corps, having the largest private military out of the corporations, with only the now-defunct Atlas and their Crimson Lance coming close.

Don't ask me how I know this, because I don't have the answers.

But with that basic information out of the way, We can discern that whatever Dahl was hiding in the Bunker I'm standing outside of, must have been either Militaristic or Simple yet Efficient.

And looking at the Thick Metal Door dug into the cliff face, I know that I would much rather have whatever is in there than in the desert behind me.

"Well, No use waiting outside," I whisper to myself before walking up to the Bunker door and slowly start turning the latch.

"Hey, Winona! The Boy entered the Bunker!" A Bandit yelled as she looked through a pair of binoculars, looking at the small dot in the distance opening and entering the abandoned Dahl Bunker.

"Finally!" The Purple-haired Bandit Leader yelled as she swung around a metal pipe with a biker's helmet wrapped with chains to the end like some sort of heavy metal bat, smashing the improvised weapon into an empty metal barrel, "Thought the bugger would've died before he stepped a foot in!"

"So what do we do now?" The Bandit with the binoculars asked, turning her head to look at her boss.

"You keep an eye on that Bunker, If the boy leaves you notify me immediately! And when he does, we'll take whatever he found for ourselves!" Winona yelled loudly, her voice carrying over the bandit camp, eliciting a roar of cheers from the rest of her girls.

"And he gets to go after that?" Binoculars duty asked, reminding Winona that she promised the kid that she'd let him go after he did this stupid mission for her.

"Huh? Yeah sure," Winona waves the question off, It's not like the kid is her problem, he's just some twerp one of her girls found sleeping in the desert.

He'll die in a week anyway.

"That's nice..." Binoculars Bandit said, "Winona, Did anyone tell you that you're very nice?" She asked dumbly, receiving a roar of laughter from the Purple-haired Bandit Boss.

"Nice, Me?" Winona pointed at herself with her improvised weapon, "Bitch I'm the Nicest Girl you'll ever find in this shit-hole of a planet! AND DON'T ANY OF YOU FORGET THAT!" She yelled at the rest of her gang.

Binoculars Bandit smiled gently at her boss before returning to her duty of observing the Dahl Bunker.

The first thing that I noticed once I opened the Bunker, was how quiet it was.

When the Atlas corporation took de-facto control over Pandora, Dahl left the planet behind, leaving much of their workers and laborers on the planet. I assumed at least some people would have tried to at least still live here, If only barely. But for there to be nothing?

I walked deeper into the Bunker, The first room being a circular hall with only one more door on the other side, this place likely being where Dahl's security forces would have waited for someone to enter through the entrance before opening fire.

I reached the door on the other side of the room, Circular and metal, like that of a vault. I start trying to push it open, only to stumble forward as the Vault door falls off its hinges, a cloud of dust bellowing from where it landed, causing me to close my eyes and hold my breath lest I start to choke.

After waiting for the dust to settle, I open my eyes and find myself looking at what I can only guess was once an old Dahl research laboratory. White walls with glass panels, sophisticated looking machines dangling down from the ceiling, And also a skeleton wearing a lab coat.

Mostly the Skeleton wearing the lab coat.

I walk closer to inspect the skeleton, hoping he might have a gun on him that I could try and take.

I'm not going back to those bandits! They'll kill me!

I need to figure out a way to escape them without dying a slow and painful death.

I check the pockets of the lab coat, My body shivering in disgust as my hands touch something sticky and I quickly pull them out, wiping them on the coat and taking a step back.

I push the skeleton with my legs, weakly kicking it off the chair it died on, only to notice a small Key Card hidden underneath it once it falls down to the floor.

I pick up the Key Card and look at what's on it.

"DESSAT-1 Research, Clearance Level 4?" I read out loud.

I'm guessing DESSAT-1 is what they were researching here, But what could it be if it needs four, or perhaps more, levels of clearance?

One thing I know for sure, Whatever this DESSAT-1 is, It's deeper into this laboratory. And If I wish to find something to escape those bandits, I'll have to go deeper anyway.

And so with deep breath to calm my nerves, I pocket the Key Card and start heading towards the long corridor on the other side of the room, Old dust covered lights blinking on the ceiling acting as my only source of dim light in this underground Lab.

Hoping to find a way to safety.

Hey, It's been almost 10 months or something since I last updated, oopsie.

I'm taking a break from my main story so I could work on my other projects, And I decided "Hey, I wanna continue that Borderlands story I had,"

I have no real deep plan, I have a rough idea of a plot and characters I want in this story, and their relations with one another, but I am basically flying by the seat of my pants writing this, Letting my creativity do most of the work. A Bit of a chaotic writing process, to fit with the chaotic nature of Pandora.

The plot being "Ace needs to regain his memories, And some more stuff on the side" A little mystery to keep readers engaged.

Next chap will be Ace's exploration of the abandoned Dahl Lab, the DESSAT-1 research facility.

See you in 10 months :)
