Disclamer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters in it. English is not my first language.
It was a warm summer evening in early july, and Privet drive looked as it always looked during this time. Not a single soul was outside, since every resident was sound asleep in their beds. But everything wasn't as usual, in house nr 4.
That specific house had four habitants, three of them was asleep but the fourth one sat in his bed and watched a photo of his parents. The strange thing about this picture was that it moved. The boy wasn't ordinary either, he was a wizard. Harry Potter didn't like his relatives, and they didn't like him either. They didn't even pretend to like him when they were alone. To the neighbors, he was a thief and a lunatic that they had put in a secure school to "teach him the errors of his ways". Harry wasn't sure whether they believed it worked or not. He thought it was rather funny, it was something he would write to his godfather about and they joked about it all the time.
Harry's godfather was Sirius Black, the infamous mass murderer, or alleged mass murderer. He was innocent, and Harry prayed to the heavens every chance he got that the ministry would notice that. Thankfully, his prayers had been heard. Sirius's trial was scheduled to take place only in a few days. Only a few days before, Pettigrew had been found in a dumpster a few meters outside the ministry. This turn of events couldn't be ignored by anyone, since Pettigrew was supposed to be dead. Harry was honestly shocked this was happening, since Pettigrew was so good at escaping being captured. Ever since the battle of mysteries only a few weeks previously, where Sirius had survived, Harry was worried about Sirius constantly. These worries were making no sense, as everyone was telling him. But Harry couldn't help it, his 15-year old mind was angsty and couldn't be persuaded to be anything else.
The reason Harry was even up at this late hour was that he was waiting for Remus Lupin to come and take him to nr 12 Grimmauld place, also known as the headquarters for the order, and Sirius's home for the moment. Remus was supposed to come in less than an hour, but Harry had a sinking feeling that something had happened to him or Sirius. It was supposed to be a quick pick-up, so he had all his belongings packed in his trunk, thus the room looked very bare. He didn't have much to begin with, which was good in this case. Harry looked around his bedroom, and thought about all the times he was locked in here, all alone with nothing to do except to write letters to everyone. He certainly wasn't going to miss this room, or the house at all. His relatives had been ignoring him for years, since he told them that his godfather was a mass-murderer. They were petrified of them all, which amused Harry and Sirius endlessly.
His relatives didn't even know he was going to stay with Sirius for the rest of the summer, maybe even forever. Harry honestly didn't care, and he doubted the Dursleys cared either.
As he was slipping away in his thoughts about something, Harry heard a loud pop downstairs and two voices. Harry recognized the voices of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. He quickly grabbed his trunk and his empty owl's cage and slowly made his way downstairs. He had to move very slowly down the stairs since he had to stop every few steps to make sure uncle Vernon didn't wake up from all the noise his trunk made.
Once he made it downstairs he barely had the time to set his trunk down before he was embraced in a crushing hug from Tonks. For some reason she was more happy than normal, and that was saying something. After he freed himself from Tonks he shook the hand of Remus. He looked tired, his prematurely aged face smiling making his scars blend in more in his face. He wore shabby but clean robes of some gray fabric. " It's really good to see you, Harry. Sirius waits for you at the house so we need to get going. Do you have everything? " Remus asked. " Yes, I can't wait to get the hell out" Harry replied, smiling.
"Then let's get the hell out, shall we?" Remus asked, smiling at Harry as they moved towards the door. Tonks gets behind Harry and floats his trunk and cage behind her. She turns around and looks around the normal hallway. " It's so clean I get the chills, is this normal for muggles? " she asked dumbfounded. Harry just laughed and moved outside with Lupin. Once Tonks collected herself they twisted on the spot, Harry side-apparating with Remus and Tonks taking Harry's things with her. They left Privet drive with a small pop in the night, and the street went back to it's calm state.
