Meguri clung tighter to Hachiman's arm, her warmth contrasting with the chill breeze. The wind tossed dead leaves along the sidewalk. Hachiman smiled and shifted his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. The sun was not far off the horizon now, the sky shifting from blue to an increasingly deep red.
"I always like this time of year," she murmured.
"The autumn?"
"Yes. Summer's too hot, winter's too cold. But fall?" Meguri grinned at him, pressing herself against him. "Is pretty much perfect. Plus, it's a great excuse to get closer to you." She leant her head against his chest.
"I'd die for you, you know that right?" Meguri says.
Hachiman sighs and massages his forehead. "Yesterday, you said you'd die for a single potato chip…"
"And?" she prompts, looking at him.
"So honestly, I don't feel very special." he reveals flatly, leaning back and looking at her.
She frowns, then her amber eyes brighten again. "I'd… uh… live for you?" she tries, looking at him expectantly.
He groans. "You're already living, idiot."
She pouts in an adorable manner. "I… I'll find something! I'll show you how much you mean to me!"
He laughs. The sound escapes from his mouth before he could stop it, and honestly, he didn't want to suppress his emotions any longer. He pulls her into a hug.
"I...love you," he presses his head to hers.
"Me too," she mumbles as she snuggles against him. He smiles.
Hachiman was awoken from his slumber by a shiver that ran through his body. His eyes slowly opened and scanned the room. It was becoming dawn outside, sunlight draping through the curtains. Why was he cold? He wasn't sick, was he? He went to cover himself up- ...wait.
Where's the blanket? And where's Meguri?
Looking over, he saw Meguri, all bundled up, with the blanket. She was wrapped like a burrito, and snoring softly, with a little smile on her face.
Shiromeguri was a blanket hogger!
He groaned softly, rubbing his face. He didn't know how he was going to get it back. Not without waking her up. And she looked so peaceful sleeping, he'd hate to disturb her. He slowly moved his way over to her, and gave a little tug on the blanket.
She made no reaction, just remained how she was. Again, and again, he slowly tugged on the blanket to get at least some for herself. This process repeated for five minutes, before half the blanket was unraveled. He smirked, satisfied with himself, and covered himself up. He laid back on his pillow, and closed his eyes.
Not even five minutes later, whoosh! Meguri stole the blanket right back! Hachiman sighed heavily and side-eyed her, glaring. She had to be doing this on purpose, wasn't she?
" Senpai..." He said quietly, shaking his head. "Please, I need some too..."
She shifted in her sleep, and turned over, seeming to not have heard him. Hachiman once again attempted to grab it back, repeating the process he'd done earlier. Then, Meguri started moving like she was about to wake up.
Not many knew this, but despite being cheerful and sweet, Meguri wasn't exactly a morning person. He'd feel bad waking her up this early.
Luckily, it was a false alarm, and she was simply moving again in her sleep. Hachiman took a breath of relief, before frowning. Guess he wasn't gonna have any warmth. Unless...?
He laid back down and spooned Meguri, wrapping his arms around her and holding her hands. He nuzzled his head into her neck, taking in her sweet scent. Soon enough, he felt his body beginning to warm up. He smiled, drifting back into sleep.
Meguri opened her eyes and smirked. He fell for her trick. She giggled, feeling his body against hers. Then, she closed her eyes, proud of herself.
