A regular morning in Bey-city, well as regular as it can be after almost being destroyed by a kid who was driven to insanity by an ex-criminal (or should I just drop ex now since he lost that case and got sentenced to life imprisonment), birds are chirping, the morning breeze is soothing everyone (well, at least those who bothered to wake up early).
Speaking of waking up early, let's see how our bladers are doing.
GRANGER DOJO
"TYSON! DAICHI! GET UP OR ELSE!" shouted the one and only manager of 'G-revolutions' throwing a bucket full of water over them.
Well this type of mornings were not a new thing for residents of Granger Dojo but today was a different as it was for the first time after the WBC (World Beyblade Committee) Head Mr Cheng-Xeng announced that BBA will be permitted to be reinstated that Mr Dickenson called a meeting but as usual Tyson and Daichi were the over sleepers of the group, which is why Kai had allowed there best bet in this case i.e. Hilary, to do whatever it takes to wake those sleepy heads.
"AHH IT'S TSUNAMI... SAVE ME! SAVE MEEEE!..."
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR HILARY?" asked Tyson visibly pissed that Hilary woke them up like that.
"Ah... I always enjoy that." commented Hilary while a mischievous smirk adored her face as Tyson kept glaring daggers at her and Max who was waking them up.
"Why won't you let us sleep you old hag? why don't you go and be lovey dovey with mister Iceberg."
"Oh shit." mumbled Max.
Before Daichi could realise what he had done he was met with large amount of stuff -that he didn't even knew was there- thrown at him.
"Don't you dare mess with me Daichi." said Hilary being called hag by Daichi wasn't new but he did not need to bring her feelings for Kai in the middle and that was was number 1 on the list of what you shouldn't do while messing with Hilary.
"Geez someone woke up on wrong side of bed huh."
"Why you..."
Before anymore damage could be done to dojo, Hiro interrupts them, "Hilary, Kai was asking for you..."
Hilary's mood changed faster than he could blink "Ok, bye guys...see you at the breakfast."
" I see you woke up, little brother. Get ready quickly; Mr Dickenson will be here anytime now." Hiro was welcomed by Grandpa and Mr. D, but that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone else welcomed him too.
"Don't you dare call me brother you traitor..." reprimanded Tyson (you people get what I said in last line).
"Tyson..." said Max and Daichi.
"Let him be guys and breakfast will be ready in 20 mins so..."
Well, at least he shouted at me and didn't just ignore my existence; I'll consider that a win for today, I think Hiro thought. He'd been trying so hard to gain Tyson's acceptance, but it seemed like it was all in vain. He went back to his duty of helping Grandpa with breakfast. After coming back Hiro started working with Mr Dickenson to get WBC to allow BBA to be reinstated again and they were successful and well even though he would hate to admit that but C.K. did helped them pretty much.
The announcement made by his old friend Mr Cheng-Xeng a few days ago was still fresh in his mind "After a lot of debate and arguments many of us were anxious if it will be the right decision to allow BBA to operate again after everything that happened but our fellow Committee member Dr. C.K. who could not be here , Mr. Dickenson and Hiro, reminded us about the accomplishments of BBA and how it changed the Beyblading world, we've came to a conclusion that contribution of BBA to Beyblading world has been tremendous till now and their teams have bought Japan five World Championship titles which is highest number of titles any country has won till now and most importantly the trust people have in the name of BBA is worth praising, so taking all this things into account we finally announce that 'The BBA will be reinstated to it's former glory and I officially declare that the good old days -like these kids love to say- of beyblading, where it is a sport for everyone not only pros are back.'"
He is taken out of his thoughts as the telephone starts ringing "I'll get it Grandpa." says Hiro.
"Hello, this is Granger's residence, how may I help you?"
"Hello, Hiro?... can I talk to Ray? please" said a female voice that Hiro unfortunately knew too well to mistake.
"Hm...ya sure wait a sec...Ray it's for you."
"Who is it Hiro?" asked Ray as Hiro hand overs him the phone.
"It's...uh...I don't know...why don't you find it yourself." answers Hiro but then suddenly a surge of pain triggers in his head.
"Ahh" groans Hiro.
"Hiro, are you okay?" questions a concerned Ray.
"Um... it's okay it's just ... nothing don't worry. And take the call." How do I get rid of this? thinks Hiro, 'Well you can't' said a malicious voice inside Hiro's head. Now I'm hearing voices great! maybe some pain killers might help thought Hiro.
"Hello" said Ray.
After hearing the voice on the phone "Sorry, Wrong number...and don't call here again please." Ray angrily disconnects the phone.
"Who was it?" asks Kai who saw the whole thing and the behaviour Ray and Hiro displayed, they obviously didn't liked the caller.
"Uh...Kai you scared me you know..."
"Answer my question."
"It was a... wrong number...yes a wrong number like I said."
"Hn" said Kai and left he wasn't satisfied by the answer Ray gave him.
"Guys! breakfast is ready. " calls Mariah who's stayed there as her holidays weren't over yet.
"Wow! it's smells good what is it Grandpa?" asjed Max.
"Just the usual homeboy but we made it a bit differently today right Hiro."
"Kai did you took your medicine you were supposed to take after waking up." asks ever the concerned Hilary.
"Hn" nods Kai he hates that medicine and used to skip it but when Hilary found out about it, he got an earful from her and since then she made it her responsibility to take care of Kai's meds because well no one else's brave enough. Well he's not someone who would give a damn what about what anyone says but it wasn't anyone it was Hilary and he didn't like to be the one to worry her.
"Good."
"Open your mouth Ray." says Mariah and feeds Ray.
"Ugh...Get a room guys."
"How do you people get mushy-mushy like that?"
"Open you mouth Ray-Ray." Max mimics Mariah and Tyson mimics Ray.
"And guys don't forget about Kai and Hilary."
"Kai did you took your meds or you'll get a boo-boo." Daichi mimics Hilary and makes kissing sounds.
"Hahaha..." there teasing is interrupted by the sound of snapping of chopstick and they saw the terrifying looks on faces of Mariah and Hilary and rest is oh you know what happens.
"And we don't even need to move a finger." says Ray.
"Hn." nods Kai to which Hiro and Kenny sweatdrops
And rest of breakfast goes uneventful and Mr. Dickenson arrive and they all seat in living room.
"You kids must be wondering why I called this meeting, so without any delay I'll tell you. The reason I called this meeting is as you all know that BBA got the permit to be reinstated and after we clear all paperwork BBA will be reinstated in few months but for that we've to present our resident team and it's captain for some formalities so are you guys ok with it?"
They all look at each other and Ray nods at Kai and Tyson and Kai starts "Yes, we'll be part of BBA's resident team but we want to be called Bladebreakers again."
"And Kai will be our Captain once again."
"It's a deal then." says Hiro on Mr Dickenson's behalf.
"Not yet!"
Everyone looks at Kai as they don't get what else is there left to say.
"What is it Kai?" asks Mr Dickenson.
"I won't be the Captain of the team anymore."
"What?!" exclaims everyone.
"Are you kidding me Kai?" asks Ray in disbelief.
"You of everyone should know I don't joke."
"How can you say that Kai? don't you get that it would never be Bladebreakers if you're not the captain."
"Hil's right Kai, there's no team if you're not the Captain. Think about it Kai it will be just like the old days." Tyson tries to convince Kai.
"And who else will be the Captain if not you?"
"Any of you can do it and no Tyson it will never be like the old days ever again." Kai's words astonished everyone and he got up and started to leave the room.
Hiro stops him "Wait a minute Kai, I want you to think about it a bit more and tell us your answer tomorrow."
"It's not gonna change." saying this Kai leaves the room.
"Oh Kai..."
At a Random Beyblade store
Ever since the Brooklyn incident now Bladebreakers were helping people to bring the town back on it's feet, so everyday they would help affected people whole day that too without holidays.
So today Max, Ray, Daichi and Tyson were at a Beyblade shop.
While carrying the boxes Tyson wonders out loud.
"I think Dranzer's death affected him more than we think."
"Ofcourse it did Tyson, how would you react if Dragoon was taken from you forever? it's a miracle he hasn't left us yet." replied Ray.
"Ya but isn't there something we could do?"
Tyson, Ray and Max sighed in defeat after trying to think how to convince Kai.
"You said that 'it's a miracle that he hasn't left us yet' then why do you guys want a person who can leave anytime without notice like he did during World Championships to be our Captain?"
"Well, during Championships Ray and I left first and even after that he tried to stay with BBA revolutions but then again he must've wanted to fight Tyson as well like all of us but I swear no one can be a better Captain than Kai."
"Max's right Daichi, you don't know what kind of Captain Kai is, you know what we'll tell you few episodes by which you'll get to know Kai's worth as Captain."
"Stories!?,I love stories."
"Monkey boy, stop jumping like that or you'll start breaking things."
"Why you..."
"You guys wanna hear it or not."
"Yes, we do" Daichi and Tyson get off each other.
"Who wants to go first?" asks Ray looking at Max and Tyson.
"Oh, I will, I will" volunteers ever the cheerful Max.
"Well, you saw how Kai stood up for me in Spain, he's always been protective for each of us in his own ways. So during our first World Championships when we were to fight my mom's team PPB All-Stars four of us minus Kai sneakes into PPB Headquarters to get some info on them as they had gotten all info on us by tricking us into battle, at one point we were stuck and if Kai hadn't came on time to rescue us then...and after that during American Finals the three who were going to battle the All-stars were Ray, Tyson and Kai but he switched himself with me and let me beat Michael and take the credit of winning American tournament even though it was a big risk as they had most of the data on me and zero on Kai, why? cuz he understood my need to prove myself to my mom that I've became a great blader, that human spirit is stronger than any technology and cuz that's who he is, a 'True Leader', he will let others grow even if it meant that he had to stay back and take the risk."
"Didn't know old sourpuss had a heart.."
"Hey, only I get to call him that."
Daichi makes a face at Tyson to tease him.
"Why you!"
"Stop it guys! so my turn now."
"So where do I start, well Kai's really good at understanding when we're facing inner turmoil for e.g. When we ... wait -not a single word of this conversation should reach Mariah, am I clear-" he continues after three of them nod at him. "So when we were facing Psychics who wanted to steal our Bit-Beasts they had a girl on their team named Salima she was my opponent but... she and I had a connection I couldn't describe and I couldn't bring it in myself to beat her as she was not herself at that moment and it weakened my resolution to win and save Driger, I know it sounds bad but if that day if it hadn't been for what Kai said to me during that match I would have lost Driger to Psychics and well, then after few days a blader named Jack was sent to steal or let's say destroy our Beyblade and Bit-beasts and most horrifying thing was that none of us not even Dizzi could study him as it's speed was so off the charts that in a blink of an eye it could do the so much amount of damage that... I had already lost my Bit-Beast to Saint Shields so since I had nothing to lose I wanted to go and face him even if it meant risking myself but Kai snatched my Beyblade and told all of us that none of us is going out that night but later we found out that he himself sneaked out to take on Jack alone."
"He didn't follow his own orders?"
"Yes and it did made me a lot angry at that time but I would admit that only he could've beat him as when it comes down to being tough no one and I repeat no one can beat him. Well, but we knew nothing about Jack's blade or beast back then so it was as risky for him as it was for anyone and the attacks were more physical but Kai stood in front of like a great wall, so even though it may seem like he doesn't cares even a bit about you but he'll put himself in harm's way to protect you no matter what because that's how our 'Captain Kai' is right guys."
"Yeah you're right." agreed Tyson with a sad smile thinking that they may lose their Captain if they're not able to convince him.
"Kai's the best Captain ever!" exclaimed Daichi as he began to understood why it mattered to everyone that Kai was Captain or not.
"Yeah we know Daichi, You know when Zeo snatched Dranzer from Kai, it didn't only affected him but us as well to the point that I couldn't concentrate on practicing my next battle but Kai drove me back to my senses and trained me for my final match keeping aside his pain. Later we got to know that he was about to leave Beyblading after Dranzer was taken away from him but someone talked him out of it he never told us who but I wish that certain someone does that miracle once again."
"We all do Tyson, we all do." said Ray, He knew that it was Hilary who talked Kai out of it as Hilary was the only one who could penetrate the his ice barrier and reach his soul and well, how did he knew that? well, he tricked Kai into telling him (Ya, as impossible as it may sound he did and he didn't sneakily heard the private conversation between Kai and Hilary with his cat senses after final match of World Championship (Tyson vs Zeo) Okay.) but somethings are better kept secret.
At Night
After everone had their dinner they went to sleep calling it a night defeatedly after Kai avoided the topic of Captaincy like a plague for the whole day.
As per his daily routine after everyone was asleep Kai went out for the walk as town was quitest at this time of night and a great time to get his thoughts together.
He thought about the talk he and Hiro had before dinner.
"I know you miss Dranzer."
"Hn...what do you want Hiro?"
"Nothing, instead I have something for you."
This got Kai's interest, since when Hiro started to become a santa.
"This is Metal Dranzer one of my many Beyblades. You can...have it...She'll be happy to be your partner."
"You have multiple Bit-beasts?" asked Kai in disbelief.
To which Hiro just shrugged "She's a metal varient of Dranzer she might not be as powerful as her but she'll fill her absence I think."
"Don't you dare try to replace my Dranzer with any other Bit-beast." growled Kai clenching his fists.
"Kai you don't understand I'm not..." but Kai was gone.
Kai knew that Hiro's intention were genuine but he just couldn't accept anyone else taking Dranzer's position in his life. To him Dranzer was like his mother who he had lost along with his father at a young age.
Kai was brought out of his thoughts as he sensed someone following him Not again thought Kai. He knew Hilary follows him everytime he sneaks out thinking he never noticed her, well too bad that he knew since day one, but he didn't let her know that he knew that she knew that he sneaks out at night otherwise if he tried to stop her she get all worried and then start lecturing him on how he should not be out at this time of night as well so he kept it to him self but he would always keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't gets herself into a bad situation as it was not safe for her to be out at this time of night and today was no different but he thought of messing with her a bit today. Smirking a bit, he disappeared in front of her.
Hilary came out and started looking here and there to see where he disappeared "Oh, Kai where are you?".
"Found you" said Kai tapping Hilary's shoulder which made her scream out loud.
Kai covered her mouth with his hand "Shh.. you might wake up the whole neighborhood."
Hilary nodded as Kai removed his hand from her mouth "You scared me to death."
"What are you doing out at this time of night?" asked Kai even though he perfectly knew what she was doing.
"What are you doing out at this time of night?" counter questions Hilary.
"I'm taking a walk, now answer my question." asked Kai as he smirked internally as he realised why Tyson and Daichi keep getting on her bad side, she gets worked up so easily that it's funny.
"Then I'm also taking a walk ." says Hilary crossing her hands, closes her eyes while facing a different direction.
Kai sighs "I know you were following me."
"No, I wasn't." defends Hilary.
Kai raises an eyebrow at her.
"Whatever, I'm tagging along now you got a problem with that mister."
Kai shrugs and they continue to walk together.
"Where are we going?" asks Hilary.
"Hn...Nowhere."
"I know a good spot for star-gazing, come with me." she unconsciously takes his hand to drag him with her but as soon as she realises it she drops his hand as if it would burn her blushing like a mad, " So...ah I was saying... ah let's go."
They reach the spot and it turns out that the place was really good for star-gazing. It was dark and due to absence of light pollution you could see the night sky very clearly.
They found a spot to seat and while looking at the sea of stars Hilary asked "Do you like star-gazing Kai?"
"Hn." nods Kai, as he looks for constellations.
"Seven"
"Huh? what do you mean?" asks Hilary.
"I've spot seven constellations till now. what's your score."
Hilary looks up to count the numer of constellations, she liked this game "Eight, Beat ya."
"I spotted two more when you were counting." said Kai.
"You did?"
"Hn" nods Kai.
They continue there game of spotting constellations and seeing that Kai had lossen up a bit Hilary asks.
"Kai, can I talk to you about something?"
Kai looks at her, he had an intuition about where this was going "If this is about Captaincy of Blade breakers then don't waste you breath Hilary."
"Well, it's not about that you know but if you wanna talk about it then it's fine with me."
"What is it then?" asked Kai as he thought what could it be if not that she wanted to talk about.
"You know what, if you think about it the members of Bladebreakers are like components of solar system."
"How?" asks Kai as he couldn't see where she was going with that.
"See, Tyson harnesses the power of wind so were do you find largest cyclones of solar system?"
"Jupiter."
"Correct, so he's Jupiter then now which planet has strongest lightenings -Saturn. so that makes Ray our Saturn but he can also control the ground right so he can be a rocky planet too."
"Uh...huh." Kai was trying to catch up what she was up to but this was way to vague to comprehend.
"Oh, and Max can be either Uranus or Neptune, you know what scientists believe that those Ice giants have liquid oceans in them doesn't matter if it's water or not. Oh and then it leaves you but it's easy you'll be the sun of the solar system..."
"When you put all the components together you'll get Earth or you could say a team called Blade breakers Max as oceans, Tyson as wind, Ray as labd and then comes Daichi he can be forest or better animals living in it he's a monkey boy after all, chief can be all those satellite revolving around. And they all are nurtured and allowed to grow by the heat provided by the sun, right?"
If she hadn't said that she wouldn't be talking about Captaincy he would be certain that she was but she didn't connected totally with the captaincy yet so he decided to let her keep going "Hn"
"What I'm trying to say is Kai that our team is like a solar system you take out a star the planets won't have anything holding them together and they'll go rogue, replace it with Jupiter, Saturn or any other planet the chaos that follows would destroy the solar system so don't you think Sun should stay at the place it's supposed to as head of this solar system."
He knew it! even though she said she won't be talking about the captaincy she doing it using solar system now but well, that was creative with it he'll give her that much, He didn't wanted to talk about it because he didn't know how to put his insecurities into words but maybe it would be easier this way so he tries to go along with her.
"Well,What if the sun lost it's energy, it's fire then what will happen to the solar system?"
Finally! he talked about it they all knew that the reason was related to Dranzer but until he's ready to talk about it himself they won't be able to help him "Well as far as I know our sun will most likely collapse into a white dwarf so it'll still have the energy even if not as much as before and mass so it'll still be able to lead the solar system."
"So you mean it won't matter if the Sun lost it's energy."
"No, I didn't say it won't matter as it'll affect the solar system in a huge way but that still doesn't mean that Sun should not be the Captain of the Solar system."
Kai contemplates over there conversation and remembers what Dranzer said to him before dying 'You're a great beyblader Kai with or without bitbeast' even though it's hard he'll have to be strong not only for himself but for his team Tyson, Ray, Max, Daichi, Kenny and...Hilary.
Kai chuckles a bit which surprises Hilary and she raises an eyebrow at him "That's the reason I avoided talking to you from the time I left BBA revolution during World Championship to the end of BEGA."
"What?"
"You always talk me out of the things I'm not supposed to do."
"What are you talking about? I was comparing our team to solar system." says Hilary innocently.
"Ok, but you didn't told me who you are in this solar system."
"I...um I don't know, what do you think I'm?"
"You are the Moon of this system, when Sun is not there to fight the darkness you're the one who illuminates the path." says Kai tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Well, the Moon gets its light from the Sun, I guess." says Hilary as she gets lost in his amethyst pools and they unconsciously start leaning towards each other but just before they could kiss a cat jump in-between them out of nowhere.
As they both realise what they almost did they both blushed and were both thankful to the dark that the other couldn't see it, It was no secret that Hilary harboured feelings for Kai and Kai also had a soft spot for Hilary and well if you didn't notice it was a running joke in the team that they were already dating.
"Ah...um looks like Mr whiskers found us."
"Ya... he's got a great sense of timing." mumbled Hilary.
"Huh?"
"Um... nothing."
Kai gives treats he bought with himself to the cat while Hilary observes him Even though his suffering, he never once forgot to bring treats for cats she was proud of the Kai beneath the cold wall of ice and she strengthened her resolve to find a way that could help her reunite Kai and Dranzer no matter what it takes, she is brought out of her thoughts by Kai as he snaps his fingers in front of her to get her attention.
"Huh!?, you were saying."
"I said we should go back to dojo it's late." says Kai as he offers her a hand to help her get up.
"Oh...ah yes, let's go." she accepts the hand and they leave the star-gazing spot.
After reaching dojo they both say their good nights and Kai sleeped better that night, getting few things off his mind definitely helped and he's thankful to God for making a certain someone part of his life maybe one day he'll be able to completely open himself in front of her but he certainly didn't mind the pace at which things were happening between them, and these were the thoughts he slept that night with and the nightmares didn't tease him that night.
The next morning everyone was waiting to hear Kai's decision and as far as they knew nothing had happened that might have prompted Kai to change his decision.
"So Kai, what's your decision?"
Kai took a glance at his team and specifically Hilary who nodded and then "I've decided to reclaim my position as the Captain of Bladebreakers."
"You can't just leave...wait, what did you say?"
"He'll be our Captain once again Tyson." answered Max trying hard not to go out there jumping and taking down Kai with a hug.
"Yay!" they all shouted.
"She did it, huh." said Hiro to Ray in as they stood a bit back from group.
"Looks like it, but I still have no idea how." replies Ray.
"Well, sometimes even great leaders need someone to talk them out of taking bad steps and from what you told me earlier she's done it before huh."
"You're right, I guess"
"And they say they're not a couple." joked Hiro.
Chuckled Ray "I know right."
And they started laughing, hearing them laugh together Kai asked "What's so funny to you two?"
"Ya, guys share with us." added Hilary with a devious aura surrounding her as she had heard what they were saying.
"You know what I gotta take our dog out for a walk so bye."
"You don't have a dog Hiro." said Max as he sweatdropped.
"I...meant our neighbour's dog." , "Really..." said a voice in Hiro's head as his head started to hurt like hell and with that Hiro disappeared.
"Well, uh..."
"Ya, Ray..."
"I...gotta go water the... cactus." and gone was Ray.
"Really, neighbour's dog and cactus, this is what the resorted to."
Tyson and Daichi started to laugh like a couple of mad boys "It's so funny when it's not us she's mad at."
Max, Hilary, Mariah and Kenny join them as well thinking about the looks on Hiro and Ray's faces that was priceless.
Leaning on the wall in his usual style, Kai was watching them laugh like idiots it assured him that he took the right decision they were his team, his friends and his... family and he would continue to be their captain.
Post-credit Scene:
"So, do you have any idea about how can we contact them?" asks Hilary.
"Yes, maybe I know someone who can help us." answers Kenny
"Who?"
"Hiro"
Author:So guys that's all, I thought I would publish it by Sunday but better late than never right...right?
Hiro: Huh...leave that and tell me about practical exams.
Author *clenching her fists*: I told you not say a single word about my practical exams.
Hiro: Okay, but tell me one thing that why do I hate Crystal and the most important thing WHY DOES SHE HATES ME? who the hell can hate me?
Author*sweatdrops:Well... how do I say this uh well just go and check the uh...what was that?...yes social media.
Hiro: Looks like both your and mine love life's hell.
Author:Ya looks like tha... what did you say...take that back now.
And Author starts chasing Hiro
Author:Damn he's fast but don't worry I'll catch him till then good bye hope you all liked this one shot sorry if it gets a bit confusing in the middle.
