"Sirius?"
"Kitten?" Sirius countered, sitting down beside her
"Will you read over this with me?"
"What is it?" he frowned eyeing the contract warily.
"Mastery contract."
"Ah." his face cleared immediately. "In that case of course I will."
"What on earth did you think it was?"
"Well you said contract, Kitten….and I wondered….well. That boy of yours has been far more patient than ones with his expectations would normally be."
Hermione rolled her eyes, "He can be patient or he can request a contract with someone else." she muttered as Sirius grinned back.
"As I'm sure you've told him," he agreed, holding out a hand, "Let's be having a look then."
Hermione fidgeted as Sirius remained silent, his eyes scanning the parchment in front of him as he made notes on a separate piece. It was a jarring insight into the adult he usually hid.
"So." he began finally, "It all seems reasonable if I'm honest. However, I've looked into this Master Carter and found very little. Because of that, before you bind yourself to him for an untold number of years, I want to meet him.
"But…"
"But apprenticeship contracts are magically binding." Sirius cut in pointedly sounding uncommonly serious. "I'm waiting on some owls from other masters to confirm he is legitimate and then I want to meet him.
"Alright," Hermione sighed. "But I feel like I should point out I'm an adult."
"In that case, I feel like I should point out that as your father, regardless of how old you are, it's my job to ensure that no one takes advantage of you."
Hermione huffed, "You're being…"
"If you say ridiculous Kitten I will be forced to silence you." She pouted making him grin. "Now what are you up to today?"
"We're going to see Luna and then I think Dean's coming. I feel like I haven't seen him in ages."
"Well then, tell Minnie I said hello!"
With a groan, Hermione stood, "Or not." she countered, calling for Severus before he could reply with some sort of innuendo.
"Auntie Luna!" Severus shouted, running towards the witch the moment they stepped out of Minerva's floo.
Hermione watched with indulgent amusement as Luna swept him up and twirled him. "Hello, little snake."
"Auntie Luna we go and see the Unicorns now?"
"Of course, but hadn't you better say hello to the Headmistress first?"
"Oh," Severus peered up at Minerva shyly, "Hello."
"Hello to you too young man," Minerva replied, her mouth quirking into an indulgent smile, "how is your dragon getting on?"
"Oh!" he reached into his pocket gently, as Hermione murmured a hasty spell and the dragon came to life, yawning and stretching on his palm. "Dillon almost got eaten by the astronauts," he informed her seriously, "Uncle Ron saved her."
"Of course he did," Minerva replied faintly looking at Hermione for an explanation. Having none, Hermione just smiled. "Oh and Mr Blaise helped me rescue Gordon," Severus interjected, "Mummy where is he?"
"Gordon is in the house," Hermione countered.
"And Gordon is…."
"A bowtruckle." Hermione sighed, "Zabini is a nightmare."
Minerva bit back a laugh. "I see," she murmured.
"I'm glad someone does," Hermione muttered under her breath before plastering a smile on her face, "Right then, shall we go with Auntie Luna?"
"Yes Mummy!" he called bouncing on his feet, reaching for the witch's outstretched hand.
Hermione watched with amused fondness as Luna and Severus both bounced out of the room, skipping down the steps until they reached the main doors. Part other was sad that she'd never get to tease the old version of him with this vision as she silently pulled out her camera, taking pictures when they weren't looking.
"Now you have to be very quiet," Luna instructed softly as they approached the forest boundary, "The unicorns get frightened."
"Why?" Severus whispered loudly, clearly trying to remain quiet.
"Because people sometimes want to hurt them, so we have to be very careful and very quiet," Luna murmured, leading them into the forest, before settling down in a slight clearing.
"What now Auntie Luna?"
"Now, we wait," Luna replied simply, pulling a shrunken blanket from her pocket and settling herself down on it. She patted the space next to her, "While we wait why don't you tell me more about Gordon? He sounds wonderful."
Severus grinned almost tripping over himself to sit next to her, not bothering to hide her camera this time, Hermione took a picture that she knew without a doubt would find itself in Severus' room as the tiny boy curled closely into Luna with a look of hero workshop usually reserved for Charlie.
"He's awesome Auntie Luna!" he breathed, "He made braids in Uncle Draco's hair last night….he wasn't happy. Why do you think that is? Grandpa laughed so hard he was crying!"
"I'm sure Uncle Draco will learn to appreciate it." Luna smiled. "He just needs to expand his horizons a bit."
"Should I tell him Auntie Luna?"
"Maybe let him come to that conclusion on his own," Luna suggested, "Now hush! Look!"
Severus turned quickly, his mouth dropping at the sight of the unicorn hovering nearby.
"Oh! Oh Mummy, look!"
"I can see," Hermione murmured, silencing the camera to take a picture.
"If you're very quiet, she might let you go closer," Luna whispered.
Reverently, Severus took a step forward. The unicorn stilled. Comically so did he. He only moved again when it resumed grazing. With a look of utter awe, he stopped next to it, Luna behind him, helping him stoke the unicorn gently. It was another picture she knew would make it onto Severus' bedroom wall, as she silently hoped that he'd manage to keep that air of wonder as he grew.
"Do we have to go?" Severus whined as he was reluctantly pulled away from the forbidden forest.
"Yes, little Imp. Auntie Luna has work to do."
"And I heard there's a certain quidditch player who's missing you," Luna interjected when he began to pout.
"Who?"
"Me!" Ginny jumped in front of them. "Lu sent me a message via the D.A. coin that you were leaving," she offered by way of explanation. "Now young Mr Granger-Black, how about a fly with your, " she paused with a sigh and an eye roll, "second favourite Aunite."
Hermione barely stifled a laugh at the disgruntled look on Ginny's face. "Can I Mummy?"
"Go," she commanded with resigned exasperation, "But not too high!"
Ginny made shooing motions with her hands, "I'll return him to the Great Hall in an hour or so. Go check on your kids, I know you want to."
Hermione watched as Ginny settled Severus on her broom before ascending with a care she was grateful for. Taking out her camera again, she caught them both laughing.
"I'm trying to make sure he has proof of the good memories this time," she murmured.
"Oh Mya," Luna sighed, "All he'll remember this time is the good memories. Now let's go and find the children, I think Jennifer and Simon mentioned going to the library. And the Tate siblings were planning a catch-up somewhere on the grounds. They're in different houses, you know?"
"Yes, they mentioned being worried about it when the resorting was mentioned."
Luna hummed, "Ginny's keeping an eye on Jared, and the other two are in my House. They don't trust me yet but I mentioned knowing you and Dean and they've been better."
"Thanks Luna."
She shook her head, "We all need to look out for each other now. It's how it always should have been."
"I hear your boy and Luna had a ball," Dean smirked as Hermione all but threw herself down onto the sofa with a groan.
"I'm relatively certain that Luna has managed to overtake Charlie for his favourite person."
"No!" Dean gasped.
"Gods, honestly Dean you should see them together its beyond adorable. He just hangs on her every word."
"Do you think it's a creature thing?"
"What?"
"Well… Charlie and dragons. Luna and unicorns and nargles."
"Huh. Maybe?" Hermione replied with a thoughtful frown. "I'd never considered that. Do you think he's always been fascinated by creatures?"
"I don't know, I can't imagine Professor Snape being fascinated by anything."
She snorted before turning pensive. "It's hard to see them as the same person, but once, before, Professor Snape was Severus."
"I can't picture it," he replied honestly, "And Mya, I don't think he was ever Severus. I don't think he was allowed.
"Maybe." she mused.
"It's quite sad really isn't it?" Dean murmured softly. "He's so…bright and inquisitive. I can't imagine anyone forcing that out of him."
"And yet I think they did," Hermione sighed.
"Poor bugger, no wonder he was so miserable."
"I think lack of inquisitiveness was the least of his worries," Hermione returned dryly.
"Maybe. Do you think he'll still do potions this time?"
"Honestly? I don't know. He was so gifted it would be a shame if he didn't but he's three, so who knows what he'll do. As long as he's happy this time, I couldn't care less."
Dean gave a huff of laughter, "A happy Snape. What a thought. Now…Miss always busy, tell me what's been happening!"
She shoved him in response, with a "Don't be an arse!" before filling him in on everything he'd missed.
"So the kids are settling?" he checked, nursing a butterbeer a couple of hours later, Severus engrossed in a game with his dinosaurs that only he understood, Gordon running through them at random intervals making him giggle.
"Mostly. There are issues obviously, but I touched base with most of them today. I'm going to see about dropping in more frequently just to keep an eye. Jennifer and Simon are still withdrawn but they have each other. The Travers siblings seem to be adapting finally and the Tate siblings are…trying to find their feet. I'm going to arrange to give them all a version of the D.A. coins though. I should have thought of it before now. Jared mentioned still struggling with his anger. I gather that they've arranged a sort of…impromptu boxing club to try and cope with it. Minerva transfigured some punching bags and dummies but you know how often we were there before."
Dean hummed, before he sighed, "Yeah. Maybe I'll talk to the Headmistress about an art club then too. Link me into those coins. I can help."
"Thanks, Dean," she murmured, dropping her head onto his shoulder.
He hummed, settling into the silence as they watched Severus play, not needing to voice their thoughts as each of them silently prayed to whatever deity might be listening that things got better soon.
19th September 1998
"Mummy!" Severus's screech woke her with a jolt seconds before he jumped onto the bed. At the door, Harry looked more than a little amused. "Happy Birthday!"
"Thanks," she offered weakly, trying to settle her heart rate back to normal as he thrust a present at her.
"It's from me and Gordon!"
"Oh wow," Hermione struggled into a sitting position, seeing the aforementioned Gordon sat on Severus' knee.
"Open it, Mummy!"
"All right," she laughed as Harry wandered in, sitting on the bed next to Severus.
"Happy birthday Mya. I feel like I should warn you that Sirius intends to be ridiculous.
"Wonderful," she muttered, gingerly opening the present. "Oh…oh wow. That's…beautiful." her eyes met Harry's, his face red in his effort not to laugh.
"I know!" Severus agreed bouncing as he jostled Gordon who took the opportunity to relocate, running up Harry's arm to hide in his hair.
In her hands, Hermione held the most garish jumper she had ever seen. It was a bizarre mix of dinosaurs, dragons, astronauts and bowtruckles. In short, all of Severus' favourite things.
"We got it custom-made," Harry wheezed.
"Of course you did," she replied faintly.
"You put it on Mummy!" Severus demanded. "Grandpa got me one too!"
At that Harry had to excuse himself, his laughter sounding throughout the house. With a weak smile, Hermione pulled the jumper over her head, summoning Severus' at his request so she could help him put it on. She had a horrible feeling that the picture he insisted on would be displayed shortly.
"Well don't you look…." Draco trailed off as Hermione wandered into the kitchen. "I ah…Happy birthday?"
Hermione rolled her eyes, "Severus requested it." she mumbled.
"Ah," his eyes lit up with amusement, "I should have guessed."
"Don't worry," she smiled sweetly, "I'll ensure you get one for Christmas."
He blanched, "That would be a…cruel and unusual punishment, Cousin."
She just grinned back at him.
"Right!" Sirius called, "Presents! Oh and cake! It's mandatory."
"Breakfast cake," Remus nodded sagely.
"That's not a thing," Draco sneered.
"Of course it is!" he protested. "Now who wants to get it."
"Me!" Severus called, bounding on his toes. "I want to Grandad!"
"Come on then," Remus held out his hand, guiding Severus to the kitchen.
They spent the morning eating cake, watching as Severus 'helped' Hermione open her presents and Gordon played with the wrapping paper making them laugh. It was peaceful and a far cry from her birthday the previous year.
She felt the sofa dip next to her, her eyes still on her son who was giggling with Gordon as they played a game only they understood.
"This almost makes it worth it," Harry murmured, reaching for her hand.
She turned, acknowledging the slightly misty look in his eyes.
"Of course, it was worth it," she countered.
He gave a slight huff of laughter, "Happy birthday, Mya. Please tell me Zabini got you something ridiculous?"
"I don't know," she admitted, "he mentioned dropping in."
"So we get to witness it first hand?" Harry grinned before he paused. "Are things….better now Winky's backed off? We haven't really had a chance to speak about it."
Hermione let the silence fall trying to decide how best to answer that. "Yes. Mainly."
"But?"
"I… he's better with Severus obviously but he's still…finding his feet, I suppose. It's hard to imagine him here full time."
Harry frowned. "Shouldn't you be able to?"
"It's still early days," Hermione replied softly. "He is getting better with Severus but I'm still getting to know him. He…surprises me every now and then though."
"Oh?"
"I spoke to him about Meredith."
"You did?" Harry's eyebrows rose sharply.
"Remus suggested it. He said I needed to see how he felt."
"And?"
"He said he drew the line at double digits but adoption didn't bother him."
With a hum, Harry contemplated her. "It doesn't sound like you can't see him here full time."
Hermione huffed, "Fine. I'm struggling with the idea of someone else stepping in with Severus. He's…mine. And if Blaise and I work out, he'll be his too and … that's harder than I thought it would be."
Biting back a grin, Harry nudged her. "You always were a control freak. Maybe don't overthink it? And let him parent a little when he's here? Because I know you My, you might like the control but you also need someone who won't leave everything to you." he paused, "You're quite difficult that way you know. Contradictory."
"Arse," she muttered with no real heat just as a breathless Severus appeared in front of her and asked them to please play the astronauts because the dinosaurs needed to be rescued.
That was where Blaise found them when he finally stepped through the floo an hour later. He paused in the doorway taking in the, quite frankly astonishing, sight of the Saviour of the Wizarding World and the Brightest Witch giggling with a miniaturised Severus snape and his pet bowtruckle, running with astronauts in their hands as they were chased by plastic dinosaurs that were controlled by his third-year Defence professor while said Proffesor's husband jumped and barked amongst them in animagus form.
"Bit mental isn't it?" a voice commented behind him.
Blaise blinked meeting the amused eyes of Ronald Weasley and Lavender Brown. "Um, maybe a little?"
Ron snorted, "Mate, no one would believe us if we told them." He grinned widely before all but jumping into the room with a roar, summoning a dinosaur to him. "I'm going to eat you!"
Severus let out a scream combined with a giggle at the sight of him. "Mummy! Mmmy save me!"
Catching Severus around the waist, Hermione swung him up. "Oh no!"
"Mummy it's the Uncle-Ron-o-saurus!"
Hermione's eyes went exaggeratedly wide, "Quick! Get him some cake and he'll stop!"
Obligingly, Harry summoned a slice of cake, a look of mischief on his face before he shoved it in Ron's face.
"Children, the lot of them!" Lavender muttered as Hermione almost dropped Severus she was laughing so hard at Ron's spluttering. She slid her eyes to Blaise, "Have you experienced the entirety of the so-called Golden Trio together?"
"Ah…not all of them at once I don't think."
"Well," she sighed, "This is where I should probably warn you that they're really just overgrown children. Even Mya sometimes forgets she's an adult. Add in the twins and you can kiss goodbye to your sanity."
"Thanks for the warning," he muttered.
With one last grin, Lavender sauntered into the room. "If you throw cake at me, Harry Potter, I'll succeed where Tom failed," she warned, sitting down primly. "Happy birthday Mya."
Hermione grinned back, putting Severus down, allowing him to run to Lavender. "Auntie Lavender, Auntie Luna took me to the Unicorns! And Mr Blaise got me a Bowtruckle! His name's Gordon."
Lavender blinked down at the bowtruckle eyeing her speculatively from Severus' hand. "Well…." she began weakly.
"In my defence, they were hurting him!" Blaise protested finally braving the livingroom.
Lavender rolled her eyes, turning to look at Hermione. "Really?"
"It was sort of done deal by the time I came back," she muttered.
"He's so cute though!" Blaise protested, leaning down to kiss her, "Happy birthday."
"He's not that cute," Hermione retorted, even as she tugged him down beside her, leaning into him.
"Presents!" Ron interrupted, finally managing to swallow his cake. "Sue sends her apologies, something about…ah…." he looked helplessly at Lavender who rolled her eyes.
"Hannah Abbots having a bit of a crisis about her NEWTs. Nev called in reinforcements. She promises to make it up to you. I gather you're planning a um…."
"Yes, Hermione interjected, with a quick look at Severus. "Next week."
"Here or Muggle?" Lavender asked.
"Both. We'll discuss itinerary ah…later."
Lavender nodded with a hum looking pointedly at Ron who flushed, "Oh. Right. This is for you."
"Thanks," Hermione grinned, opening the present, only to slam the lid shit again. "Right. So, warning?"
Ron frowned in confusion, turning to his girlfriend who was laughing so hard she was gasping. "Oops?" she wheezed.
Severus' eyes narrowed, "I see your present Mummy?"
"No!" Hermione replied quickly, banishing it to her room. Lavender produced another one from her pocket.
"You can maybe help Mummy open this one," she suggested, diverting his oncoming tantrum.
"Do I get to see your present?" Blaise queried directly into her ear.
She flushed but met his eyes, "Maybe."
He promptly shut his mouth when Severs appeared in front of her. He wrinkled his nose in disgust when the contents was revealed, "What's that?"
"Things to help mummy relax," Lavender offered, "Bubble bath and body cream…Mummy things."
Severus poked a box, "That's not bubble bath."
"No that's make-up for when mummy goes out."
"Mummy doesn't go out!"
"We're not winning this are we?" Hermione muttered.
"No."
"Thanks, you're far better at this colour malark than I am," Hermione offered, before turning to Severus "I know they seem boring but Mummy likes them."
"Why?"
Hermione groaned, "I just do."
"Ok," he looked at her dubiously, moving to Harry's side to whisper something that made him laugh.
"This is from me." Blaise offered looking unsure.
She eyed him speculatively. Before opening it, a gasp escaping her. "What is it, Mummy?" Severus demanded.
"I can't accept this!"
"Of course you can!" Blaise countered. "It's your favourite book!"
"It's a bloody first edition of my favourite book!"
"I know," he agreed.
"Go Zabibi," Lavender muttered.
"The words you are looking for are thank you, Blaise." Blaise prompted with a smirk.
Hermione gave a soft scoff but she looked back down at the book reverently, "Thank you, Blaise," she murmured, missing Severus' scowl when she kissed him.
21st September 1998
"Why are we doing this to ourselves?" Daphne groaned.
"No idea," Susan agreed, "I'm over this nonsense"
"Does that mean we're done?" Fred checked hopefully.
"Only if you want to fail," Hermione murmured distractedly, her eyes on her notes.
"Mya!" he whined, "We're been here for hours."
"We've been here for twenty minutes," she countered.
"Feels like hours."
"You're worse than Severus!"
"Right. Cant we… I don't know, do something practical?" Daphne hedged.
"Such as?"
Her head cocked to the side as she thought about that. "Practical charms and transfiguration mix."
"Oh?" even Draco looked intrigued.
"We need to split into teams and….create something."
Harry's eyes lit up. "Severus has been asking for a tree house since Dora mentioned having one as a kid."
"So he has," Hermione mused.
"Right, how many teams?"
"I bags Mya," Fred called.
Daphne rolled her eyes, "Two, we can pick numbers from a hat."
With a long suffering sigh, Harry summoned a hat, adding tiny pieces of parchment. "Right go."
Five minutes later, they trudged into the garden, arguing about location. "How are we doing this?" Hermione murmured, eyeing their chosen tree. Her team stared back at her.
"What are our strengths?" Daphne checked.
"Fred has the imagination." Hermione offered, "Dean's artistic."
Daphne hummed, "Right let's work out how it's going to look then," she commanded producing a sheet of parchment and handing it to Dean.
Three trees down the other team were in deep discussion, Draco apparently having taken the lead, despite the way Susan appeared to be taunting him leaving Blaise and Harry sniggering.
"How about something like this?" Dean muttered, sketching quickly.
"It just looks like a house," Daphne frowned.
"I know," he grinned, "That's the point. We keep the outside simple so that it looks like a standard tree house. Inside however…." he looked expectantly at Fred, who clapped his hands.
"Right. Jungle room?" he suggested, "with moving dinosaurs on the walls, dinosaur sculptures that do things like….um…swing and chute and playground equipment…around the back actually, not inside. All dinosaur-themed. Inside more like that soft play thing he likes? There could be a dragon room for his toys with a little table and all that jazz. Space-themed where a keyword could let him float? But otherwise is just pretty, we could relocate some books, make it cosy, add lights and stuff."
"I think he'd love it," Hermione admitted slowly, "but play equipment in a tree?"
"We'll add safety wards," Fred dismissed.
"So something like this?" Dean asked, showing them what he'd been sketching.
"Yes," Fred agreed "Although space room up top? Add in a trap door and ladder. Have maybe a little spaceship as a seat, planets that he can bounce off of, moon surface floor that can be made squashy or hard depending on his game."
"All word activated?"
"Well yes, he can't do magic yet so we'll need to have it inbuilt."
"Sweet Merlin," Daphne's eyes went round, "You can do that?"
"Yes," Hermione agreed. "It's tricky but doable."
"And you're going to teach me, right?"
Hermione shrugged, "It's going to take all of us and it's not a secret, just a combination of charms."
"Hermione…you do realise the magic you're discussing doesn't currently exist?" Daphne replied incredulously.
"Well it does," Hermione argued, "We've used it before to make the floor a trampoline."
"Then you invented it!"
"Not just me!" Hermoine argued, "It took rather a lot of us to figure it out."
"Mother of Morganna," Daphne breathed, before speaking as if to an idiot, "You need to patent and sell that combination!"
"Why?"
"Because parents would kill for this information!"
"Huh," Hermione contemplated her, "Maybe."
"Right, shall we get started," Fred gestured grandly, "Or our harshest mini judge will be in bed!"
Four hours later, utterly exhausted, they all contemplated the houses.
"He's going to want them both," Hermione groaned, eying the giant wooden dinosaur nestled in the tree just down from them. Inside was also themed with a mix of Severus' favourite things.
"Probably," Harry agreed with a rueful smile.
"Maybe he could choose one to keep and one to donate to the House?" Blaise suggested.
"That's…genius actually." Hermione agreed watching as Sirius led Severus out.
"Grandpa took me on his motorbike Mummy!" he grinned making Hermione freeze. "Look!" he gestured to the back of the brand-new leather jacket he was sporting.
"He was safe." Sirius spoke quickly, "You know I wouldn't do anything that puts him at risk."
Her eyes narrowed before they widened when she realised what was on the back of their jackets. Sirius had Padfoot scrawled across it in red thread, Progs, Padfoot and Moony dancing around it as they always were, underneath he'd added a tiny snake, an otter and a smaller Prongs. Severus had Pup in green, a snake winding through the letters, with an otter hovering over the writing, Moony and Padfoot at one side and Prongs on the other.
"Oh."
Sirius' grin widened. "We can add to it as he gets bigger."
Hermione groaned, her head thunking into Blaise's chest. "He's going to want a bike of his own," she whimpered.
Above her head, Blaise grimaced, "Probably," he admitted.
"Right, now we've established that, why are we here?"
"We were practising charms and transfiguration." Draco supplied, gesturing to the two houses, noting the way Severus' eyes lit up, "One of them can stay here, you get to choose what one you're keeping. The other one is going to go to the House."
He pouted but immediately pointed to the dinosaur, "That one."
Harry snorted, "Great! We won!"
"Don't you want to see what's inside?" Fred wheedled.
"What's inside?" Severus asked in confusion.
"Let's go and see shall we?" Dean grinned holding out a hand.
"I want them both Mummy!" Severus whined, having finally been coaxed back down onto the ground. The dinosaur hose had a chute in its tail, trampoline floors in a space-themed room, an interactive dinosaur room with models that acted as play equipment and little habitats for Gordon dotted throughout. They had topped it off with a Dr Seuss themed reading room.
"And that's fine, but one of them can be played with at the House." Hermione reiterated patiently, "Did you have a favourite room?"
"I…I…the space one with the bouncy planets."
Hermione hummed, "So why don't we keep that one here and when you go to the House we can play in the other one. Seeing as it's moving why don't you have a think about a room or two we can add?"
He paused seeming to consider that." Anything Mummy?"
"Ah…well… within reason." she hedged.
"Edie likes dolls," he murmured softly.
"Oh," Hermione breathed, suddenly looking slightly glassy-eyed as she scooped him up, raining kisses on his face until he was giggling and breathless. "You are the sweetest little boy."
"Dolls it is," Fred agreed, "And maybe something to do with Unicorns?"
"Yes, Uncle Fred!" Severus shouted, "But can Gordon have his little houses in this one?"
"Course he can," Harry agreed, "want to help?"
"Yes!" he screeched, wriggling so Hermione put him down.
"I think it was a draw," Draco announced, making the rest of them snort.
"How's the soft play thing combining along?" Blaise asked as Hermione wandered back downstairs, Severus finally asleep having bounced himself around space for a fair bit of the evening.
"Good, Fay was here a couple of days ago. The building's sorted and she and her mum are currently decorating it. Most of the standard equipment has been ordered, once it's in we'll start looking at charms. Fred and George have promised to come over once we begin and see about some magical food and drink."
He hummed, "Charms like the ones used today?"
"Honestly? Maybe. I can imagine something like the space room going down well."
Probably," he agreed,d tugging her closer. "So what's next?"
"Next?" she sighed, "I have no idea. We're at Charlie's soon. And Sirius has demanded to meet Master Carter. Kings has gotten the ball rolling for the Dragon Reserve so that's something. And then Newts."
He snorted, "So nothing at all then?"
She groaned, "I need a clone."
"Just one?" he teased.
"At least three" she muttered.
"My mothers requesting a visit," he voiced hesitantly into the resulting silence.
"Oh?"
With a groan, his head thumped back onto the back of the sofa. "She's relentless."
"Who's relentless?" Harry queried, wandering in munching on a slice of Winky's current cake creation.
"What on earth is that?" Hermione demanded, eyeing the lurid purple concoction.
"No idea," Harry admitted thoughtfully, eyeing the cake. "It's not awful though."
"It's purple!"
"Yes," he agreed idly, "I think she mentioned a vegetable."
Blaise blinked at him, "And so you tried it?"
"Well…she seemed so proud and so yeah…"
"Sweet Salazar," he muttered
"Like you wont too just to get on her good side."
Wisley Blaise didn't comment.
