23Chapter 1: Beginning of a Black Tail (Part 1)
A/N: This is my first time writing a fanfic and I picked two series I enjoy that just work well together. Fairy Tail and Black Clover are flawed series that have lots for me to love and I wanted to try putting these lovable casts together. If you've ever read a story like 'Fairy May Cry' or 'Protector of the Fairies', it will be similar in that I'm changing things so that these two universes coexist, which may mean removing some characters or changing backstories and motivations, I'll probably have more Fairy Tail characters and worldbuilding than Black Clover because I like them more and I'm more familiar with it, though there will still be lots of BC characters and the magic system will lean more toward it because it's a lot more explained. Forgive me if there are any conflictions in worldbuilding I can't remember every detail of the universes perfectly. Some other changes include, Grimoires are not needed to be a mage, Asta will only have his to store his swords as a sort of requip, and Lucy will have the Pisces and Libra key, thus letting me give Yukino something to actually do as a character. Feel free to comment if I mess up lore that is important. Also, I'll be real I will probably skip a few arcs because they are mostly going to be the same and will be boring to write or won't be happening in this story. I'm not writing the first chapter of FT again because I've seen enough to be sick of it (just know that Natsu called her Anna when he first saw her, but Lucy just corrects him), and I'm kind of just trying to get to the beginning of the series so I can actually start using my ideas. Think of this as a little preview to the rest of the series. Finally, there will be plenty of ships, including gay and polygamous relationships because I don't want it to just be the main characters getting love (Natsu and Asta). Feel free to comment on how I can improve.

Anyone who knew Asta could describe him in one word: determined. He put that into everything he did, whether that be eating, training, or doing chores; but if there's one thing that he was more passionate about than anyone else, it was magic. No matter where you are, the world of Earthland is completely full of it and pretty much everyone can use it… except for Asta. Yes, Asta has absolutely no talent for magic at all and hopes to one day become the strongest wizard in Fiore, the Wizard King. Despite this, Asta has made it his goal to compete for the title of Wizard King with his fellow orphan/brother/rival Yuno.
On a day just like any other, a fated coincidence happened around the little village of Hage that would be just as important as the events 7 years ago. Yuno had found a book with a four-leaf clover a short while ago, a sign of one of the most powerful magical items in the world, a grimoire. It is said that the four leafed clover represents faith, hope, love, and good luck, and that those who are accepted by these mysterious items are destined for greatness, with many Wizard Kings in the past having wielded them. Asta, while crestfallen, loudly proclaimed that he would find a five-leafed clover to outdo him, which was laughed off by the rest of the villagers because such a thing has never been mentioned in the world.
While Yuno began training with his grimoire's powerful wind magic, Asta explored outside the village to hopefully find a magic item of his own that would help him overcome his rival when he found an empty house that the village considered cursed because an outcast had lived there until their mysterious death. While most would leave in fear of the haunted area, Asta gave no shits and just walked inside hoping that she had magic potions. What he found instead actually astounded him; a real five-leafed grimoire just lying on the ground that looked rather old and dirty. As he got closer to the grimoire, he began to see it glow brighter and brighter, until suddenly it opened, the pages flipping with such swiftness that the wind began to pick up. When Asta finally touched the book, there a was flash of black light, and when Asta opened his eyes – he was immensely disappointed.
A tiny little impish creature was laying on top of the grimoire, and it seemed as if it was just waking up as it yawned loudly and sat up. As he looked around groggily, he saw Asta and began to scream, which Asta responded with the same way. When they both finally stopped screaming Asta asked, "What was that all about, huh?" While the creature looked at him in astonishment, all it could say was, "Who's your mom?"
Confused, Asta replies, "I don't know, I'm and orphan." To this, the creature looks down dejected, as that only confirmed what he knew of the tragedy years prior. When he looked back at the kid he asked him what his name was. "My name's Asta," he energetically replied, "what's yours?"
The tiny creature looked up at him and smiled with sadistic glee as he said, "The name's Liebe and you are going to help me throw this world on its head."
