Chapter 1: Summoned by Justice
Hello and welcome to this FatexDanmachi crossover fic. This was just a random idea that just floated into my head one day where Emiya was part of the Astraea Familia. For this fic Emiya will have the memories of all the Fate routes as and the event of FGO. Firstly yes, I know that isn't how the Throne of Heroes works as Heroic Spirits shouldn't have memories of any previous times they're summoned but hey this is a fanfic, just roll with it. As for the time the Danmachi verse will be set in, it will be a time before the Great Evilus attack on Orario occurred (Astraea Record Ultimate Clash).
Secondly, and I'm sure a lot of you guys are going to point this out, there will mostly likely be a lot of mistakes made when I write this. I am no perfect writer and if you guys can provide feedback on what I did wrong and how I can improve that would be appreciated not only will this help me as a writer by will also make the this and any future story I make better.
Lastly I hope you guys can enjoy reading this fic. Now to the story
Fate can be kind to many. No one knows when it'll happen but when it does many events can come from it. It might have brought people together, it could've given you a big break or maybe just hearing some good news. However good Fate can be it can also be a cruel and cunning force. None know more than Shirou Emiya or as he now goes by, Heroic Spirit Emiya. Fate has been quite cruel to him as long as he remembers. Almost dying in the Great Fuyuki Fire, getting killed by Lancer, joining the Grail War which was the cause of said fire that almost killed him, failing to save those he held most dear to him, becoming Alaya's janitor and many, many more unfortunate events afterwards. Hell, even trying to kill himself in the past to erase his existence failed.
Even with all of the unfortunate events that he's encountered there were some good that came from it. Even though his goal was to create a paradox by being summoned to the fifth Holy Grail war to kill his younger self, seeing the Shirou Emiya of the past accomplish what he could not, saving Saber from herself and setting himself on a different path (hopefully). Even the alternate routes of the Grail War had Shirou walk down a different road from his, one of them abandoning his ideals of being a Hero of Justice for Sakura Matou.
Even though he was still a janitor for Alaya and fight to clean up the world for her, he would still hold on to the hope to finally be free from her. Free to be released from the contract he made so long ago.
As he was awaiting for Alaya to send him to his new "job", he felt it, someone calling him. Perhaps it was someone calling him to fight in another grail war or maybe it was Chaldea trying to reach out to him again. Whatever it was, there was no reason for him not to reject the calling, anything to get away from Alaya was a plus in his book even if it was for a short while. Not wanting to waste anymore time, he accepted the call. The summon was quick and simple and so was the game plan. Nothing special, introduce himself, pretend he had memory loss due to the summoning, fight and win. As long as there were no big surprises, an incapable master or that damn Lancer Cú Chulainn, he should be fine. Opening his eyes to see his new master he answered.
"Servant Archer. I ask, are you my mast…" uhh something wasn't entirely right. He could feel it. The connection to his master was different, different from what a usual mana connection should be. Instead he could feel a completely different source of power coming from his master. It felt… divine, sacred. He wasn't quite sure. And the air, it was flowing with mana. More than what he was used to. Quickly remembering that he was in the middle of an introduction his eyes fell onto who he thought should be his master.
Sobby Indigo eyes meet gray eyes. It was clear that the one in front of him was crying. His master had wore a white kirtle with a long skirt. Brown hair that reached past the shoulders and a figure that could only be described as beautiful to the average person. Even with all of the dust and dirt that covered her.
But what caught Emiya's attention was the divinity that radiated from her. It felt familiar yet it was completely different. Whoever his master was, was no ordinary mortal. A god perhaps? Wouldn't be the first god he's met. Plenty of Gods and Goddesses were summoned during his time in Chaldea, all with… a variety of personalities.
"Focus Emiya you need to figure out what's going on. Whatever is going on you need information and this lady in front of me could provide the answers to my questions." Ready to break the silence and learn more about the situation, the one he was facing spoke just happened to beat him to it.
"Umm hello there. Who are you?"
It was at this moment that the Heroic Spirit Emiya… cursed his E ranked luck once again.

The city of Orario was home to adventurers who came from many different lands, races and backgrounds all sharing one very common goal. To become an adventurer and conquer the dungeon that resides there and to reach all sorts of fame and glory from the people and the gods. It was said that long before the Gods descended to the mortal world from the heavens that the dungeon was already there, yet to this very day none have been close to conquering it and finding what secrets it holds. To help the mortals that would dive into the dungeon, the gods would bless the mortal of their choosing to combat the many dangers and challenges the dungeon would throw at them. Over the many years, Orario would be the home to many Gods and their familia's. While most familia would be diving into the dungeon, there were familia's that would provide services to help support not only them but the city as a whole.
One of these many familia's would be the Astraea familia, a familia lead by the Goddess of Justice Astraea. A Goddess known for her sense of Justice as well as her kindness to others and one of the Goddess that regular civilians got along with. Her familia served two roles in the city. One being dungeon expiration and the second being an active police force for the city, safeguarding it from criminals and the Evilus, all in the name of Justice.
Astraea herself started the day like any other. She woke up, greeted her familia, listened to what plans and roles each of the members would be given, see them off and venture into the streets to provide her services to the citizens. She wouldn't be alone however, anytime Astraea would leave the familia home, at least one or two of her members would be by her side to make sure that she wasn't in any danger. Even if the streets were a lot safer and clean of Evilus, didn't mean that an attack couldn't happen at any given time or moment. After all, the war with the Evilus still raged on.
Currently with her was Gojouno Kaguya, vice-captain of her familia hailing from the far east. A noble of stunning beauty with long silky black hair with a kanzashi pinned to it, a dark red kimono with a robe over it and katana ready to be drawn should a fight break out. At this time both Goddess and vice-captain were strolling down the market area, doing a bit of shopping for the familia home. What should've been a calm and pleasant day, would soon become another battle ground for the darkness that lurked near.
"My Kaguya, what a lovely day it is today."
"Yes Lady Astraea, it sure is." Today was Kaguya's turn to guard her goddess. While the rest of her sisters in arms were either inside the dungeon or patrolling the city, she was by her goddess side making sure nothing would befall her. It had been a while since Kaguya got to spend some alone time with her goddess out of the familia home. It felt nice to get away from her loud captain and that stubborn elf. What a perfect day, nothing could possibly go wro….
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAA!" "EVILUS ATACK!"
Damnit…
All those happy thoughts came to a sudden halt because some bastards who were part of the Evilus couldn't hold their plan of attack for one more goddamn day.
What was once a peaceful street suddenly became chaotic. Civilians were running in all directions trying to get away from the dangers that now filled the area. Members of the Evilus were striking down civilians left right and centre without a care in the world, all for the sake of chaos.
Without much of a second thought Kaguya jumped into action, drawing her katana, the level 3 adventurer of justice would strike any evilus that stood in her path. While Kaguya was taking care of the threats to the city, Astraea herself was tending to the civilians that were still caught in the battlefield. Leading them away from the fighting and to a much safer area. She could only hope that the rest of her familia as well as anyone else would come soon before it was too late. While she trusted Kaguya, she wouldn't be able to hold out forever.
However as Astraea was caught in her thoughts, she failed to spot a few members of Evilus running towards her, ready to strike her down from several directions. As their blades were ready to strike the defenceless goddess, they were ultimately blocked and pushed back.
*KLANK*
"Lady Astraea! Are you unhurt?" Said blocker was none other than the Astraea Familia captain herself, Alise Lovell. Behind her several other members of their Familia who joined Alise on patrol ready to join the fight.
"Alise!? Th-thank you." Caught by the surprise of the attack that would've sent her back to tenkai, Astraea could do nothing but look at her captain and saviour in both joy and surprise. Her worries would soon be over as she could see the others of the patrol squad not far from her.
"Lady Astraea, it's too dangerous now. You should get to safety and leave the evilus to us." To most, they would see the Red headed captain of the Astraea familia as a cheerful and optimistic but when things need to be taken seriously, such as this, that side of her would not be seen. Seeing her goddess almost be taken away from her left a sour taste in the captain's mouth. She blessed whatever god let her reach her goddess in time before anything terrible could've happened to her. Now it was time for her and her comrades to bring these crooks to Justice.
"Understood. Alise please, may you and the other be safe." Hearing her captain's words and leaving her own. Astraea ran to leave the now dangerous area.
If one could look closely, you could see a small smile crack on the captain's face. "But of course. After all these crooks are dealing with none other than the Astraea familias beautiful captain." Hearing her goddess being concerned for her, Alise couldn't help but crack a smile.
"You sure took your time getting here captain." Landing next to Alise was her vice-captain. No major injuries could be seen on her, just small cuts, dirt and spots of blood could be seen on her clothes and blade.
"Well Kaguya, the star needs to have a dramatic and flashy entrance. How's the situation looking"
"Several civilians were caught in the attack. Many dead and many more injured. Lady Astraea has gotten the remaining civilians to safety." Ignoring her captain's idiotic response, Kaguya explained the situation, even though it was getting worse each passing second as more and more evilus were showing up.
"I see. Well now it's time for the Astraea Familia to strike back!" With her battle cry said Alise rushed back to the battle ground, her vice-captain following shortly behind.
Meanwhile with Astraea herself. After leaving the now Evilus filled market area, Astraea was making her way to the main street. Hopefully she would encounter a member of one of the other familia's to help her girls, she would soon encounter some unwanted hunters.
"Well, well, well. Look what we have here boys. The Goddess of Justice." Jumping in front of her and blocking her path from the shadows were four evilus. Each with weapons at their sides, ready to spill some blood. Though Astraea couldn't see, all four of them had wicked grins on their faces.
"And just what do the four of you plan to do with me?" Discomfort was now shown on her face. Astraea already knew what the four were planning to do. Should she fall and return to tenkai, the blessing she gave to her followers would leave them and all of them would no longer be able to combat the evilus and would fall. She couldn't let that happen at any cost.
"Killing you of course. You and your Familia have been a torn to the evilus for long enough. By getting rid of you and your familia, that is one less power to combat the evilus and the plans we have for the city." replied grunt one. "But before we do that maybe we could have some fun with you a break the spirits of the girls and people that hold you so dear. Hahaha!" His friends soon joining in the laughter.
If Astraea wasn't already disturbed from them, now she was full on disgusted. As a virgin goddess being defiled by men like them was one of the many reasons she never allowed men into her familia. Greed and Lust was something she had seen in man for as long as she could remember. Not wanting to stay anywhere near them any longer, Astraea turned and took into a full sprint trying to get away from the four grunts.
"Get her." Nothing more needed to be said and all four grunts chased after the defenceless goddess.
Running as fast as she could down the streets, Astraea pushed with all of her might to get away from the evilus grunts. As fast as these grunts were, they couldn't be any higher than Level 1 at the pace they were going. She was barely able to keep away from them. While they got close to her they couldn't quite reach the Goddess of Justice. Not wanting to stay on a single path and try to put some more distance between her and her chasers. Making a sharp turn to an alleyway, knocking over some convenient place wooden crates to try and slow them down a bit but to no avail as her chasers simply jumped over said crates.
Continuing to run, Astraea would continue to make sharp turns when she could. Even using whatever bits of the environment around her to try and slow down her pursuers. She would eventually get lucky to use a bag of flour that was abandoned in the panic as a smoke screen. Putting even more distance between the evilus grunts.
"*Cough* *Cough* Damn she got away." "She couldn't have gotten far. Let's keep going." "Yes you're right. Split up and find her." Splitting into different directions, the grunts would try and pursue the goddess in groups of two. What they didn't realize was that in the small time that distracted them, Astraea used the smokescreen as a cover to hide in a nearby damaged building on the street. While this was a bit of a risk, after all of the running away Astraea was starting to grow tired and if she continued any longer, the grunts would've caught her. Breathing a sigh of relief that she was safe for now, Astraea used this time to recover her breath and plan out her next move.
"Thankfully that gamble paid off. If I can just reach Alise and the others before they find me again, everything should be alright. All I need to do now is to stay away from any major open areas and make my way back to the market area. I'm too far away for the famila home and the guild. And there are no nearby familia residence either for me to call out to. So going back the way I came is the safest option I have at the moment."
Taking a few more moments to recover. Astraea would also use this opportunity to gather any resources that might help in her current predicament. Unfortunately there was nothing much that could be used to help her. Many of the objects in the building were small pieces of wood or of the already broken structure. While they could be used as throwing projectiles, they wouldn't do much to her pursers and were easily dodgable As Astraea continued to look for anything useful, she accidently knocked over a table with a vase. This accident would cost her.
*CRACK!*
"Uh Oh…"
As the sound of the broken vase echoed throughout the abandoned building, its noise could just be heard outside as well and that unfortunately caught the attention of the once lost pursers.
Realizing that she just gave away her position, all Astraea could do was to try and stall and pray that someone would come for her. Using what she could nearby to block the door and make a barricade quickly, Astraea was in a tough position. The small barricade wouldn't last very long, a couple of hits and her pursuers would break through and capture her, she needed to try and find another way out. Seeing as there was no other way out of the building, the goddess collapsed and fell to the floor, losing hope that someone would come and save her. Tears starting to fall.
"Alise. Kaguya. Lyra. Ryuu. *sob* Everyone. *sob* I'm sorry. I have failed you. Someone, anyone… Please SAVE ME!" As her final cry for help screamed to the heavens above, a great glow shone behind her. What Astraea failed to notice behind her was an odd looking circle with runes that many except the most experienced of mages would be able to read. The light that radiated from it lit the room in a bright light, so bright that Astraea had to use one of her arms to cover her eyes from it. At the same time three unfamiliar red marks started to form on the back of her right hand. In a final burst of wind, Astraea was blown back as the light died down.
Opening her eyes and moving her arm, no longer was there an empty space, but a strange man now stood in front of her. He had short white hair that was swept backwards to the front. Tanned skin with both eyes closed. Black body armour covered his centre as well as black pants with plated shoes to compliment it. Over the armour was a red coat that reached down past his kneecaps. And from what Astraea could tell, he was also decently muscular as well.
"Servant Archer. I ask, are you my mast…" As the mysterious man was slowly opening his eyes to ask her a question he suddenly stopped. Almost as he was disturbed by something around him. With his eyes fully opened, although more wide as the man was shocked for some reason, she could see gray coloured eyes. Eyes that told her that this man had been through a lot. Much sadness and pain could be seen in those eyes.
Not wanting for the silence to continue any further Astraea was the one to break the ice.
"Umm hello there. Who are you?"
