Chapter 1: The Summoned Hero!

Normal POV

The sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway as a young petite girl with long blue hair was shown walking before stopping in front of a room.

The girl proceeded to knock on the door, "Natsu-nii, it's time to wake up. Are you awake yet?" The girl asked as she waited for a response, but after waiting a while and still not getting one, she decided to open the door and walk into the room.

The moment she entered the room, her eyes scanned through the vicinity until it locked onto a sleeping figure on the bed. From the size and built of the figure, it was clear that they were a male.

She proceeded to walk up towards him with a pout, "Natsu-nii, wake up already!" the girl started shaking the pinkette's body even more causing him to grumble.

"Wendy… just let me rest for another… five more minutes." He yawned as he turned around and wrapped the blanket around him tighter.

"Absolutely not! You're going to be late again if you keep this up!" Despite her small stature, Wendy still managed to pull the blanket away from the rosette who grumbled in annoyance as he slowly sat up on his bed.

"Fine, fine, I'm up." He grunted as he yawned tiredly before staring at the petite girl by his bedside.

"…Good morning Wendy." The blue haired girl smiled.

"Good morning Natsu-nii, now hurry up and get prepared. I'll go and prepare breakfast. Make sure you come down soon otherwise I'll get back up here." She said before exiting the room, leaving the pinkette all alone.

Seeing as the girl had left, there was a part of him that wanted to go back to bed, but he quickly decided against it.

After all, he knew better than to anger her. While she may have been much smaller than him, she could be as terrifying as their mother when she was angry.

Shaking his head from those thoughts, he proceeded to get out of bed, 'Well in any case, I better get ready before Wendy gets at me again.' The pinkette thought to himself as he grabbed a fresh pair of clothes as well as a towel as he headed for the bathroom.

After getting himself ready, donned in his school uniform, the boy began walking downstairs to the living room where he was greeted by a small quadruped with blue fur walking up towards him before circling around his legs.

"Good morning Happy." He smiled as he squatted down to pet his cat's head causing him to purr in content as he rubbed his head on his hand.

The pinkette lifted up his head to stare at the side of the room where he saw a white furred cat staring at them fixedly.

"Good morning to you too Charles." He greeted the white cat who practically ignored his wishes and began licking herself.

Unlike Happy who was welcoming to anyone (especially if you gave him food), Charles wasn't particularly close to him whatsoever (or anyone else for that matter). While she wasn't hostile to him, she wasn't actually warming up to him either. In fact, the only people she had gotten close with were Wendy and their mother, Grandeeney.

He didn't understand why that was the case, but perhaps it was just because she was closer to females than she was to males, or at least that was what Wendy had theorised.

He couldn't help but remember when the two had become a member of their family…

When they were younger, the two of them had always wanted a pet in the house to play with, especially when their parents were constantly busy with work and would always come back late.

While their parents seemed a bit reluctant at first, they eventually gave in to the idea and intended to bring them to a pet shop. However, as they were headed there, that was when they passed by a box with a sign saying "Adopt me".

After opening the box, they were all shocked to see two small kittens, their blue and white fur covered in mud and grime, as they mewed quietly at the sight of them.

It had been such a sad sight for them all, which ultimately helped in their decision in taking them in to their family.

Since they were still quite young, they decided to adopt them into their family. It had ended up for the better as their lives had ended up more exciting and relaxing with the two felines in the household.

"Breakfast is ready!" Wendy's voice broke through his train of thought as he got up and headed to the dining room.

Wendy placed their meal on the table before taking a seat while he sat across from her.

Their breakfast was simple as it consisted of rice and salmon accompanied with some miso soup. Simple yet delicious at the same time.

"Itadakimasu," The two of them wished before taking a bite out of the food.

"How is it, Natsu-nii?" She asked curiously as she stared at him, but he could tell that she was slightly anticipating his answer nervously as well.

"It's delicious as always. Thanks Wendy." He smiled genuinely and the girl nodded her head with a beaming smile as she returned to her meal.

He couldn't help but stare at his younger sister who was eating her food with a massive smile on her face.

Over the years there had been plenty of people who hadn't believed them when they'd introduced themselves as siblings. For good reason of course seeing as they looked nothing alike.

Well, the reason for that was simple,

Wendy was his stepsister.

Unlike her, he wasn't actually a biological member of the Dragneel household as he was picked up at the orphanage by Igneel back when he was still a child.

It wasn't something he had told a lot of people about, but there were a couple who knew his situation.

He had no idea who his biological parents were, nor did he know why they decided to abandon him. Heck, even the owners from the orphanage had no idea who his parents was either since they told him that they found him on the pavement of their door one day. He was always curious about who they were and their reason for abandoning him, but as time passed on, the less important it was to him.

While it had been a difficult time living in the orphanage as he would sometimes get bullied by the other children for the colour of his hair, that didn't mean that his entire time there was horrible.

After all, he had managed to befriend a couple of people there during his time there.

That was when three small children with silver hair all appeared in Natsu's mind causing a rue smile to form on his face.

"Oh by the way, Natsu-nii," Brought back to reality, the pinkette looked up to stare at his younger sister.

"I wanted to let you know that Chelia asked if I could have a sleepover at her house today since we won't have school tomorrow." Wendy finished.

"Is that so? Well good for you then. Make sure to have fun, alright?" He responded with a thumbs up as he returned to his food.

"But…" The girl looked a bit reluctant as the pinkette smiled at his younger sister.

He could already tell what was on the girl's mind. It wasn't that hard seeing as they were living together for years now.

"You don't normally get the chance to have sleepovers with your friends' right? That's why you should take this chance and enjoy it. Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself."

"…Are you sure you'll be alright?"

"Come on, I'm the older brother here, if I can't survive a day without my younger sister then I'd be the laughingstock of my school-, no in all of Japan!" He said in a joking tone as a bright smile appeared on Wendy's face.

"Thanks a lot, Natsu-nii!"

After finishing their breakfast, Wendy headed back to her room to pack for her sleepover while Natsu fed their pets some food before they left.

Ensuring that they had everything with them, the two prepared to head off for school.

"Be good while we're out alright you two?" Natsu called out, getting an affirmative meow from the cats before he closed the door and locked it.

With that, the two siblings began walking through their neighbourhood and as they walked, they greeted their neighbours and passer-by's which passed by them.

"So, did you make sure that you have everything with you?" Natsu asked as he slung his bag over his shoulder.

"Yup, I made sure to check twice as well!"

"Well, if you did forget anything you can just text me and I'll head over there, alright?"

"Alright!"

The two carried on chatting as they headed towards their school, Fairy Tail Academy.

The Fairy Tail Academy was one of the most popular and famous school in all of Japan for all the right reasons as most of their students ended up making a name for themselves for themselves in their respective professions.

As they neared the school, the two heard footsteps headed towards them.

"Hey there Wendy!" a pink hair girl cheerfully called out as the girl turned back upon hearing her name and her eyes lit up brightly before running over towards the owner of the voice.

This girl was none other than Wendy's best friend, Chelia Blendy. She was a girl with pink hair, that's a darker shade than Natsu's, and similarly to Wendy, she was wearing the Fairy Tail Academy uniform.

"Good morning to you too, Natsu-san."

"Morning." He greeted back with a wave as the girl leaned towards Wendy.

"So, what did he say?" Chelia asked quietly, gesturing to the pinkette beside her to which Wendy responded with a bright smile and a nod.

The girl's face brightened up and hugged the girl tightly before releasing the girl from her grip and turned to face Natsu.

"Thank you for allowing her to stay over with me, Natsu-san. I promise to take of her while she's over!" Chelia said with a salute.

"Well, as long as you can keep your promise then I have no problem entrusting her to you." He responded back with a salute of his own.

"Mou, you guys are teasing me again!" Wendy called out in minor frustration as the two pinkette's laughed.

With that, the bubbly girl decided to join them for the remainder of their trip.

Upon reaching the academy, the two girls and Natsu waved goodbye to one another seeing as their classes were in different sections.

"See you tomorrow, Wendy. Be sure to take care of yourself when you're heading over to Chelia's house, alright?"

"Mou, I told you plenty of times by now that I'm old enough to watch out for myself, Natsu-nii!" The girl flailed her arms as the pinkette chuckled and petted the girl's head.

"Yeah, I know. But I'm obviously going to worry about my younger sister when she's not with me. It's only natural, right?" He said and the bluenette only nodded her head with a pout on her face and a tint of red dusting across her cheeks.

Waving goodbye at the two as he watched them walk over to their classes before he took a look at his watch and noticed that it was '8:45 A.M'.

And class starts at nine…

"Oh shit! I'm going to be late!" he yelled as he quickly bolted towards his class.

Opening the door to his classroom, everyone jolted up in shock upon seeing their classmate panting heavily as he leaned on the door.

"Morning Natsu." Though they were already used to this and just greeted him normally as he walked up to his seat before sitting down and leaning his head on the desk.

"Looks like you were almost late again, huh Natsu?" a female blonde said as she walked up to him with a hand on her hips as she stared at him.

This was Lucy Heartfillia, one of the friends he had made during his time at the Fairy Tail Academy.

"Yeah, we left the house a bit later since Wendy's going to have a sleepover at Chelia's house today." He responded and the blonde nodded her head in understanding.

"Oh, by the way, have you finished the exercise we were given yesterday?" the blonde asked curiously as Natsu's skin begins to pale as he clapped his hands together and bowed down towards his friend.

"Please, you've got to let me borrow your homework, Luce!"

"No way, the last time I did, I got in trouble with Laxus-sensei. You should just do it yourself." She refused with a huff, shivering slightly after recalling the punishment she received from the blonde teacher.

Not only had he doubled the amount of homework she had to do for the entirety of that month, but she also needed to submit it around the same time as everyone else. To make matters worse, Natsu didn't go through that same punishment! If anything, the punishment he had to handle was much lighter compared to hers as he was forced to join the school's football team.

The only reason it was bad for him was because he was member of the No Club Society, thus it was considered to be troublesome for the pinkette.

"Please, I'll treat you to lunch today! So please help me!" Her eyes seemed to have brightened up at the thought of it as she placed a hand on her chin.

"Fine, but you have to remember your promise, alright?" The blonde sighed as she pulled out her notebook from her bag before handing it over to her friend.

"You're the best Luce!" He grinned happily as he quickly took her notebook before hurrying off to his desk to copy off the answers from it before the teacher arrived.

However, before he could even begin writing…

"Geez, aren't you capable of doing your own homework, flame brain?" a sarcastic tone voiced out causing Natsu to freeze a bit before an annoyed look found its way to his face.

"Oh great, and I was having a great day as well." He said as he looked up to stare at a male who looked to be the same age as him with spiky black hair and a cool smile on his face.

This was Gray Fullbuster. Natsu's childhood friend and long-time rival. The two had known one another since elementary school and had been in the same class with one another ever since.

There were times when they could get along with each other, but asides from that, the two would usually be seen arguing or engaging each other in scuffles. Though it was clear to see that the two cared for each other as well.

"Well sorry about that then." Gray responded with a smirk on his face.

The two glared at each other for a while before they both chuckled and bumped fists with each other.

"You really need to start doing your work by yourself, otherwise you're going to have to repeat the year." He said as he sat down at his seat which was beside the pinkette.

"Ah shut it, I was busy with my job yesterday." He responded as he returned back to copying off the answer's from Lucy's notebook.

"You really shouldn't be announcing that out loud, you know that it's against the rules for students to have a part-time job." The ravenette chastised with a frown.

"Well, I'll just need to handle it for another year and then I'll be free to do whatever I want!" The pinkette said with a massive smile on his face as Gray sighed.

"You really need to watch over yourself, otherwise you might overwork."

"Well it's not like I have a choice. I have to earn money somehow." He responded with a shrug.

While his parents would send over money to him and Wendy every month, it was only enough to pay for their bills and groceries.

Considering that both he and Wendy were adolescents, there were times when they wanted to purchase other stuff as well. Which was why the pinkette decided to pick up a part-time job in order to satisfy those needs.

It had been difficult to find a job that hired students, but ultimately he managed to get one at a local convenient store he had frequented to when he was younger.

While Wendy was concerned about him when he first started out, as he would constantly return home and just crash in bed without eating, he slowly got used to it as each week passed and it slowly became more of a routine for him.

"Don't get me wrong, I think it's good and all, but don't you have any goals for the future?" Gray asked curiously as he watched the pinkette return the notebook back to their blonde friend as he returned to his seat.

"Hmm, well I thought about taking over my father's dojo, but other than that, I can't think of anything else." He responded as he placed a hand on his chin.

Truth be told, he never once thought about the future whatsoever.

Ever since he had been adopted, Natsu Dragneel had just been going with the flow. He never really wanted a lot of stuff, but as long as life was exciting and adventurous for him then he had no complaints whatsoever.

Before Gray could respond to that, the doors to the classroom opened up.

"Alright you brats, head to your seats, let me take your attendance." A large blonde man said as he entered the class. His name was Laxus Dreyar, a teacher and grandson to the principal of the Academy, Makarov Dreyar.

"Alright class, make sure to place your work on my desk." He called out as every student took out their respective notebooks before walking up to the front and placing in on the teacher's desk.

As Natsu placed his down, Laxus placed a hand on the teen's shoulder.

"I hope you didn't try and copy off your friends again, Natsu." The blonde teacher said with a smirk as the pinkette paled considerably and laughed uncomfortably.

"O-of course not! I already got caught once, there's no way I'd do it again." He responded with a smile.

The rest of the students in the class could only sweat drop, after all, he had been copying off his friends every time after that incident anyways.

"Well, if you say so." He ended the conversation but everyone, Natsu included, knew that the blonde would bring it up at a later date.

"Well then, let's start with the attendance…"

The bell rung, signalling the first break of the day as Natsu sighed and leaned on his desk.

That was when he noticed two people standing by the doors of his classroom.

The first was a man with spiky orange hair wearing a pair of azure-tinted sunglasses. This was Loke, one of their close friends and Lucy's current boyfriend.

Meanwhile, the second was a woman with long azure blue hair which reached her shoulders. This was Juvia Lockser, another one of their close friends and Gray's current girlfriend.

As the two of them were classmates, it meant that during every break time, the two would always head over to their friend's classroom and wait outside so that they could spend their time-off together.

And today was no different.

"You better hold up your end of the bargain, Natsu." Lucy said with a hand on her hips as she walked towards his table. Gray had already left and greeted his girlfriend at the door, leaving just the two from their group to remain in class.

"Yeah, yeah I don't go back on my word." He said with a wave of his hand as he slowly got up and the two joined up with them.

With that, the five headed straight towards the cafeteria where they saw a large number of students lining up in front of the counter in order to order their food.

'This is probably going to take a while.' Natsu thought to himself with a sweat drop.

After they eventually managed to get their food, the group of five sat an empty cafeteria before immediately engaging in small talk.

Unlike Gray, Natsu had only befriended Lucy, Loke and Juvia all at the Fairy Tail Academy.

Unlike most schools in Japan, the Fairy Tail Academy was a combined school that students would be able to study there for both their middle school and high school lives.

Seeing as they were all in their final year of high school that had meant the group had been together for almost a total of six years.

Though they didn't start out as friends straight off the bat as there had been a period of time when they avoided each other. As Natsu and Gray had known each other since young, it was obvious that the two would continue being friends during their tenure at the academy. While Lucy and Juvia were able to become close friends with one another as they were both new students in the academy.

On the other hand, as Loke was renowned for being a womaniser, and this reason alone was enough for the two females to dislike him while Natsu and Gray were constantly annoyed by his high and mighty attitude.

Though, that all changed when the five of them were assigned to a group project a few years back, and while it had been chaotic at first, this allowed them all to get the chance to learn more about each other before they ultimately became great friends.

As for how they managed to get together? Well that's a story for another day.

"Oi, don't take a bite of my food you idiot!" Gray raged causing Natsu to snap out from his thoughts as he stared at his childhood friend glare at the orange head.

"Come on, can't I just have a little bite? I'm low on money this month after spending it on dates with Lucy." He responded with a charming grin, which obviously had no effect on the ravenette.

"That's your problem, not mine!" This, of course, led to a shouting match between the two friends.

"Why do they have to be this noisy so early on?" Lucy sighed to herself, as she rubbed her head in annoyance.

"Juvia doesn't know, but she does believe that Gray is as charming as ever." Juvia responded with a beautiful smile adorned on her face as she stared at her boyfriend.

Oddly enough, instead of getting involved with the small squabble, Natsu was currently munching down on his food at a slow pace with a small smile on his face.

In the past, he would never have expected that he would feel as happy as he did now seeing as he was alone most of the time.

However that was no longer the case. This time he had parents, he had an incredible younger sister and an amazing group of friends standing by his side.

He could only hope that he would be able to maintain this happiness for decades to come.

The bell rung for the last time of the day, signalling the end of school as the students in the classroom all got up from their seats and headed out, whether to go home or to their clubs was up to them.

"Yes, class is finally over for today! Natsu cheered as he got up from his seat.

"Geez, looks like you only have energy the moment classes are over, huh?" Gray said with a sweat drop as he watched the pinkette pack his stuff up.

After packing their stuff, the trio met up with Loke and Juvia, who were waiting in front of their classes as before, and currently we see the group walking along the school hallway.

"How about we head over to NcD's for some food? Gray suggested to the group, eliciting cheers from the girls.

"Let's go! I've been wanting to try out their new burger for ages now!"

"Juvia as well!"

"Hmm, well I certainly don't mind. What about you, Natsu?" Loke asked.

With that, all the attention went over to the pinkette who was lagging behind the group.

"Hmm? You guys go on ahead, I have my part-time job to do today." Natsu responded, getting groans from the group.

"Again? This is the third time this week! Can't you just skip today? Surely there's nothing wrong with missing a day or two?" Lucy asked incredulously.

"Well, if I could freely choose when I want to work then I would." He responded with a roll of his eyes as he slung his bag over his shoulder.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow then." With that he waved goodbye to his friends as he began running forward.

"Man, he's going to exhaust himself if this keeps up." Lucy said in concern, getting nods from Juvia and Loke.

Meanwhile, Gray couldn't help but frown when he stared at the retreating back of his childhood friend.

While he may have tried to put a strong front, the ravenette knew for a fact that Natsu wanted to join them, but because he was earning extra cash for him and Wendy, he had no choice but to refuse.

"Oh well, if he doesn't want to join us, we might as well head there ourselves, right? We can always hang out tomorrow, after all." He said, turning to face the group with a smile on his face.

Nodding their heads, the group of four began heading out to the school's exit.

After passing through the academy gates, the pinkette walked along the road for a couple of minutes before he finally arrived at his destination, a convenience store, and standing in front of the store was a middle-aged man with short orange hair as he swept the road.

"Hey there Gildarts." The student greeted back as Gildarts flashed a cheerful smile at him.

"Yo, it's nice to see you Natsu." He responded to the pinkette with a smile on his face.

This was Gildarts Clive, Natsu's current boss and a long-time friend of the Dragneel household. Both he and Igneel were classmates back in their schooling days and had kept contact with one another through the years.

In fact, it was because of their close relationship that Natsu was able to get a part-time job.

"So, how's Cana doing?" The pinkette asked curiously.

Cana was Gildarts's daughter who was a year older than him and was currently attending at a local Japanese university to be a bartender. Ever since then, he had rarely seen the brunette, but they still caught up with one another had they been given the chance.

"Well, according to her, she's doing fine as always, but since she hasn't come home in a while, I obviously started to worry over her well-being. What if she was feeling homesick? What if she wanted some extra money? Also, did you know that she ignored me when I called her just the other day? I was just worried about her, but she told me to stop calling her otherwise she'd-," With that, the older man begun rambling about his beloved daughter.

"Right…" The pinkette couldn't help but sweat drop as all he could do was watch as his boss talk about his daughter.

'Damn it, how could I forget that he's a massive daughter-con?' He thought.

A short moment later, Gildarts finally stopped as he coughed into his hand, "Anyways, I'm sure you're not here to listen to this old man talk about my daughter, now are you? So hurry up and get changed already. Rogue has been managing the counter all by himself for half an hour now." Gildarts said as Natsu nodded his head and walked through the back door into the staff's room.

There, he quickly changed out of his school uniform and into his work clothes. After he was done, he headed to the front where he saw a figure standing behind the counter.

"Yo, Rogue." He greeted upon seeing a man, just one year younger than him, with short black hair and wearing the same work uniform as him.

"Hello Natsu-senpai." The ravenette greeted upon seeing the pinkette walk up beside him.

Rogue Cheney was a colleague whom he considered as one of his friends. The two had met up at work and initially the ravenette was someone who would remain silent while carrying out his task, but he eventually softened up and the two became close friends. He also attended the Sabertooth Academy, one of Fairy Tail's close rivals in terms of competition.

Though in this situation, neither one cared about the rivalry.

"You look a bit more exhausted than usual. Didn't get much sleep last night?" the rosette pointed out.

"Yeah, I was too busy playing a game that Orga introduced to me." The ravenette said with a rue smile as he tired smile as he recalled his boisterous friend from school.

"Hmm, I didn't know you were into games, Rogue." Natsu said in surprise as he stared at his younger colleague who could shrug his shoulders in response.

"I wasn't aware of it myself, but I guess I found myself riding along the wave of excitement just like the others." He smiled softly.

That was when the ravenette explained the concept of the game to the pinkette.

The title of the game was Monster Hunters.

As the title implies, the entire premise of the online MMORPG basically revolved around a world where numerous species of monsters with powers that clearly exceeded those of the ordinary citizen, started coming into existence following a strange eclipse. With humanity pushed to the brink, Heroes (AKA real life players) were supposed to appear hence setting the backstory for the start of the game.

"That does sound like a pretty fun game." Natsu said, his eyes shining brightly as he said that.

The pinkette had always been a fan of action-packed films ever since he was younger and that remained true as he grew older as well.

"Then why not download the game and try it out for yourself? It's quite addictive if I do say so myself." Rogue suggested while his face scrunched up.

"Hmm, we'll see then." The pinkette said with a shrug.

"Come on, it's not so often when we get the chance to play games together. Why not just try it out?" Rogue asked, raising an eyebrow at his senior.

"I'll think about it."

"That's what you always say." He sighed, but decided to not push it.

He had heard that excuse more times than not.

An orange hue now covered the skies of Japan, as a large number of people, mixed between office workers, students and even housewives, walked through the streets, each of them rushing back home after a long day of work.

Among them was a pinkette who was slouching as he walked.

"Man, am I tired…" The rosette mumbled to himself, rotating his arm in exhaustion as he walked along the road.

After finishing his shift and saying goodbye to the people at the store, he was now on his way back home. He considered making a stop somewhere to take a rest, but decided that he might as well return back home.

As he walked, he suddenly noticed a small group of children playing in the park. Each of them carried broad smiles on their faces as they ran around.

'I remember we used to play here all the time when we were kids.' Natsu thought with a sombre look on his face as he stared at the group of children playing by the sand pit.

That was when the hair colour of the boy and girl started to change colour in his eyes, with one of them having pink locks while the other had silver locks.

Shaking his head to wipe out those thoughts, Natsu decided to focus on returning home. And after a fifteen-minute walk the pinkette finally arrived home and unlocked the door.

"I'm home." Natsu announced, when he realised that the living room lights weren't on.

'Huh, Wendy should have been home by now.' He thought, suddenly panicking when he realised something.

'Oh right, Wendy said that she was going to have a sleepover party at Chelia's house again.' He recalled their conversation earlier that morning.

While she may have looked a bit reluctant to accept the offer, he was happy that his little sister was spending time with her friends and living her life the way she wants it to be.

Meow

He felt something bumping into leg and he looked down to see none other than Happy nudging his leg with his head with a purr.

"Hey there Happy, were you good today?" He smiled as he petted his cat's head who was crying out in bliss at the warm sensation it was experiencing.

He turned his head over to the white cat who had been staring at the two.

"Sorry Charles, but Wendy's going to be staying at her friend's house today, so you'll have to deal with me for tonight." He smiled at the white cat who didn't respond as she turned away from him.

Sighing to himself, he threw his bag to the couch and was about to turn the television on when something caught his eye.

It was a small picture frame on top of the desk.

He proceeded to walk over to the desk and picked up the frame, staring at the image intently with a frown on his face.

The image consisted of a younger version of Natsu, Gray and Wendy alongside a girl who had short white hair with each of them having a bright smile on their faces.

'It's been a while since I last looked at this picture…, huh Lisanna?'

Lisanna Strauss, his best friend who passed away a few years back after she was involved in an accident involving a hit-and-run.

During their time at the orphanage, she had been his best friend. While he would often get bullied by the other children, she was the first who reached out to him when no one else did.

For that alone, he had been forever grateful to her. It was also through her that he was able to get acquainted with Gray and her older siblings, Mirajane and Elfman.

Despite being adopted into different families, both Natsu and Lisanna still managed to meet up with one another every chance they got and even managed to enrol in the same elementary school together as well.

Ever since then, the two had always believed that they would always remain by each other's side even in the future, no matter what.

However, that all changed right before they entered middle school.

Just like normal, the two decided to meet up at a local café to hang out as per usual. Normally, Natsu would walk over to her house and the two would leave together. Though for some reasons, Lisanna had told him to wait for her at the café instead.

While he had been confused, he saw no reason to refuse and did as he was told.

Later that day, he had been waiting for his friend at the café for a few hours and she still hadn't arrived yet. He had tried calling her a few times, yet she didn't pick up, and according to her siblings, she definitely had gone out to meet up with him.

That had been when he saw an ambulance driving past the café he was in. Ever since he saw it pass by, the pinkette had been filled with a sense of foreboding as he quickly left the café and chased after the vehicle.

That was he saw it…

There it laid right in front of his eyes… her body filled in a pool of her own blood.

He felt all the strength in his legs give out as he dropped to the ground, staring at the scene in horror as tears streamed down his face.

The suspect had been caught and was sentenced to prison, but that brought no joy to the pinkette's life.

He had lost his best friend, the one person who had stayed by his side his entire life.

He always wondered if things would have gone differently if he had just decided to walk over to her house instead of just waiting at the restaurant.

He had always regretted his decision which costed Lisanna's life.

However, it wasn't just him who had felt down as both Mirajane and Elfman were both devastated by the news and even blamed him for her death at one point of time as well, not that he minded it.

Ever since her death, the Strauss siblings decided to move abroad, but they always made sure to visit on the day of her anniversary.

He had no idea where the two of them were right now, but he was certain that they were trying to move on from her death, similar to how he was trying to cope with it.

That was when he suddenly felt a vibration in his pocket, which helped snap him out from his thoughts and upon taking out his phone, he noticed he had received a message.

Subject: I've arrived!

From: Wendy

Chelia and I have arrived at her house!

Attached to the message was a picture of both Wendy and Chelia smiling brightly at the camera with the pinkette's house right behind them.

Meaning that they must have took the picture the moment they arrived.

'Well, I'm glad she's having fun.' He chuckled to himself before

He had already told her before, but he truly did want her to enjoy her time at school with her friends.

After all, despite the fact that she was in middle school and he in high school, Wendy was responsible for doing all the house chores seeing as she was clearly more talented than he was in every household skill there was; cleaning, tidying and even cooking.

As the older brother, he was always guilty and ashamed of his lack of abilities, but Wendy would always tell him otherwise and tell him how grateful she was for having him being a part of her life.

In actuality, this had been the main purpose for him to find a part-time job.

He was certain that his parents would send over more money had they asked, but because he wanted to be a better older brother, he decided to try and earn the money himself.

While it was exhausting, it was worth it after seeing his little sister's smile.

'Well, since I'm alone, I should probably go and train!' he thought as he quickly headed towards his room in order to change into more appropriate clothes.

His father, Igneel, owned a dojo behind the house and had even been an instructor in the past before his work piled up, forcing him to stop.

Back then, Igneel had plenty of students and had even tried convincing him to be one as well. However, he hadn't been interested at the start, as he feared about causing trouble and being forced to return back to the orphanage. But after both Igneel and Grandeeney had reassured him that it would never happen, he eventually warmed up to the idea and learned under his father's tutelage.

It was safe to say that he hadn't regretted that decision one bit, as it gave him an activity to devote to. He had learned numerous different fighting styles and even developed his very own unique style in the process.

However, even if that were the case, not once had he been able to defeat his father in a battle. Though, the pinkette was confident that one day, he'd finally be able to reach his goal.

Unfortunately, he didn't know when that day might come as

due to work responsibilities, both his father and mother, Grandeeney, would constantly be out abroad which meant that they had to close the dojo to outsiders, meaning that only Natsu (and by extension Wendy) were the only ones who had access to it.

The pinkette had always wondered if there would be a time when the four of them, six if you included Happy and Charles, would be able to spend time together like a normal family again. In fact, their parents were only able to come back at least twice a year, three times if they were lucky.

While it can be quite lonely without them, the siblings would always be surrounded by their friends to occupy that loneliness.

'Well, there's nothing we can do about it.' Natsu thought, and after dressing himself he headed straight for the dojo.

After a workout session which lasted about an hour, the pinkette returned to the house and quickly took a nice and relaxing shower, before heading over to the kitchen as he wondered what he should cook for dinner.

With Wendy, he never had to worry about food since he had always told her to cook whatever she felt like, freeing him of some responsibilities.

However, since she was having a sleepover, it looks like the task has fallen back into his lap.

He didn't want to order takeaway nor did he want to head over to the convenience store as he was still exhausted.

'Hmm, I'm in the mood for something spicy, maybe I should cook some curry?' After making his choice, the pinkette gathered all the necessary ingredients from the kitchen and began preparing his dinner.

While he wasn't as good at cooking as Wendy was, he still managed to learn quite a lot from both her and his mother as he would usually help them out in the kitchen.

After cooking some pork cutlet with curry, he took a seat at the dining room and placed his hands together.

"Itadakimasu," he wished softly as he took a bite of his food before turning on the television.

Nothing interesting was ever on, but the pinkette preferred having it on to break the silence of the house.

As he took a bite of his meal, he took out his phone and realised he had received a message from Gray about an hour ago, which meant he had sent it while he was training.

Subject: Cheer up!

From: Droopy Eyes

Cheer up already! Let's head out to the mall with the others tomorrow at noon!

The pinkette couldn't help but smile when he read the message from his childhood friend. While the two would always act like they hated one another, in reality, they always had each other's back.

He quickly replied back to him, apologising for the late reply before giving the okay for tomorrow.

The pinkette placed his phone on the table and returned back to his food when his phone vibrated once again and noticed that he had sent another message.

Subject: Try this game out!

From: Droopy Eyes

Awesome! I'll let the others know. By the way, you should try out this new game that I found! It's called "Monster Hunter" and it's an extremely addictive game that we can play together! Loki said he was going to give it a try as well.

'Is everyone I know playing this game?' Natsu thought in confusion.

If Gray, someone who took school seriously, was taking time from his day to play a game and to even invite him, it must have been a really fun game.

'Well, I guess there's no harm with trying it out.' Seeing as the next day was a weekend, he would have plenty of time to do his homework anyways.

After washing the plates, he walked over to the living room where he saw both Happy and Charles sleeping comfortably on the ground, the pinkette chuckled as he picked them up gently and brought them over to Wendy's room where they usually slept in.

Returning back to the living room, Natsu sat on the couch before taking out his phone and search for the game his friends were talking about in the app store before proceeding to download it.

He normally wasn't too highly invested in playing games like most people his age as he would much rather go out and exercise or be busy training his martial arts that he had learned from his father.

Though, today would be an exception considering the fact that some of his closest friends seem to be playing it, so he might as well give it a shot.

'They're probably going to freak when they find out I'm playing.' He could already imagine their shocked expressions in his mind as he chuckled to himself as he waited for the game to finish downloading.

Suddenly feeling a bit thirsty, the pinkette got up and was about to walk over to the kitchen when he suddenly froze in place.

A large glowing silver circle engraved with various geometric patterns appeared beneath his feet. The high school student could only stare at it in confusion, especially since it looked just like a magic circle.

That was when the magic circle began to glow brighter and brighter until the light enveloped the entire room while the circle beneath him begins to rotate slowly.

"What the heck is this?" He managed to mutter before the magic circle flared up in a brilliant explosion of light.

Upon hearing such a loud sound, the two felines whom had been sleeping comfortably upstairs, quickly rushed down to know what had been the source of it, only to find that the living room was empty.

Natsu groaned in pain as he slowly opened his eyes, blinking a bit to adjust his vision, before he realised that he was staring at an unfamiliar ceiling.

"Oh wow…"

He heard someone gasped out and turned his head over to the source of the sound and his eyes widened in shock when he saw a large group of people in robes staring at him in looks of awe.

"W-where the hell am I…?" Natsu muttered underneath his breath as he looked at his surroundings frantically.

One quick look around the place told him that he was definitely not at home as there was plenty of ostentatious displays surrounding him, such as paintings, chandeliers and expensive utensils.

"Welcome, brave hero!" A loud voice echoed in the room as Natsu turned back to see a middle-aged man wearing a well-embellished tunic with gold trimmings, though the thing which caught the pinkette's eyes the most was the golden crown that was on his head.

"On behalf of everyone in the Kingdom, I would like to express my warmest welcome to you. I am Emperor Kazuya and it is an honour to be in your presence." He bowed down as only a single thought appeared in the rosette's mind.

'What the hell is going on?!'
