Chapter Two
"Hello I am Healer Myers…" The healer drew off as she looked up from flooing into the house and her eyes fell on Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy standing in front of him, Draco visibly pregnant. "I see why the insistence on such heavy privacy conditions," she said after a moment.
"Indeed," Draco nodded.
"We really appreciate you signing them," Harry smiled.
"Ok, so let's take some questions first before we do any examinations," The Healer visibly pulled her professional mask on.
"Please, sit down," Harry motioned to the armchair and then he and Draco sat on the sofa together. Harry glanced to the side as he saw some movement and watched Draco gripping the snake cuddly toy into his lap.
They went through a list of a variety of questions covering Draco's health and medical history, and then questions about the baby.
"You haven't seen a Healer at all, that is incredibly…"
"We appreciate that you are doing your job, however, there is no need for anything like that. The circumstances are what they are, Draco has done everything that he can for the baby, and the reasons he hasn't been able to see a Healer before now are his. We appreciate your help from here on forward," Harry interrupted. Draco and the Healer stared at him for a moment, his face set in a stern expression before the Healer nodded.
"Of course, have you any concerns?" The Healer shook herself and turned back to a professional.
"I have been very stressed, I am worried that that could have had an effect on the baby," Draco admitted.
"Ok, let get do an examination," The healer said standing and conjuring an examination table in the centre of the room. Harry squeezed Draco's arm when the blond turned to look at him before standing and making his way to the table. Once he was on the table the healer raised it so that she wasn't bent over, and then she started casting multiple spells over Draco as he lay there taking deep breaths and looking incredibly nervous.
Harry sat watching with his heart pounding in his chest and over and over in his head he hoped that everything was going to be okay, that Draco and the baby were going to be safe, and that everything was going to be okay. He watched the Healer like a hawk and every move that she made while also looking at Draco to try and ensure that he was doing okay, meeting his eyes every now and then when Draco turned to him, clearly looking for reassurance.
"Ok, everything is fine. You have slightly elevated blood pressure which I would expect saying that you have been stressed, I strongly recommend that you take it easier for the last couple of months, getting as much rest as you can. But aside from that everything is looking perfectly normal and good," The Healer smiled stepping back.
"The baby is fine?" Draco double-checked.
"Absolutely fine, exactly as I would expect them to have developed at this point, they're the right size for their development, their heartbeat is spot on, they are just fine," The Healer reassured him.
"The baby is fine," Draco turned to beam at Harry.
"Perfect," Harry nodded standing and moving to rest his hand on Draco's shoulder.
"Would you like to see them and hear their heartbeat?" The Healer asked.
"Yes please!" Draco was nodding before she had even finished speaking. Chuckling she cast the spells she needed, and both Harry and Draco's breaths caught as the slightly blurry grey image of a baby curled up appeared over Draco, a soft woosh woosh filling the room of their heartbeat.
"Oh," Harry gasped.
"It's my baby," Draco breathed out, reaching up blindly to grab for Harry's hand as a few tears escaped his eyes, except this time he didn't mind them at all as he laughed happily watching as his baby shuffled a little bit and then turned around. "Ok, that is a little weird, I felt them move and saw them move at the same time,"
"Would you like to know what they are?" The Healer asked with a smile.
"Yes please," Draco nodded eagerly.
"Ok, you are…having a girl," The healer said.
"A girl, I'm having a little girl?" Draco said with a growing smile.
"Yes, you are," The Healer nodded.
"It's a girl, she's a girl!" Draco turned grinning at Harry.
"Congratulations, a little girl," Harry was practically beaming ear to ear.
"Oh, are you not the other father?" Healer Myers asked as politely as she could.
"No, I'm going to be supporting Draco and…his little girl though," Harry said happily.
"I need to run another couple of tests, but I can leave the image up while I run them," Healer Myers just moved right on to Harry and Draco's gratitude for her professionalism.
"Harry, look at her," Draco breathed as he stared at the image of his daughter.
"I think I can practically see you falling even more in love with her," Harry smiled.
"I think I am, seeing her there, it just makes her more real," Draco sighed contently.
"I will capture an image for you," The Healer said as she stepped back from completing her tests, with a practiced move for had a moving picture of the baby on a couple of pieces of photo paper she had brought with her and passed them to Draco.
"The other tests?" Harry asked concerned.
"All perfectly normal. Because of the situation, I would like to see you in another week's time, just to be sure, and then after that, we will have one more appointment before the baby is here. Have you plans for what you want to do for the birth?" Healer Myers asked, and she managed to mostly hide a smile when Draco and Harry blinked at her like a pair of owls, answering her question without saying anything. "Here are some booklets that I brought over, they go over the different types that you can have, and what will need to be put into place for each other, though remember even with magic sometimes babies tend to knock your plans aside, so don't set your heart on it being one way, we will of course try and ensure that happens for you, but things happen,"
"Thank you, I will look through them," Draco nodded as Harry helped him sit up on the bed and then slide off of it once the Healer had lowered it back down.
"If you have any questions or want to check anything at all with me if you want an extra appointment don't hesitate to get in touch, I am here to support you through this," She assured Draco.
"Thank you," Draco breathed out relieved.
"Congratulations again, and I will be in touch for your next appointment," she smiled before flooing out.
"How much of a meltdown do you think she is having back in her office?" Draco asked after a second, making Harry burst out laughing.
"I'm mildly traumatised, horrified, and exceedingly impressed with you," Harry said as Draco walked into the room, confused Draco looked up from where he had been fighting to tug his top back into place and found Harry reading one of the booklets that the Healer had left.
"I'm growing a human Potter," Draco said in his most pompous voice, before smiling, "it wasn't going to be easy,"
"Still traumatised, horrified, and exceedingly impressed," Harry grinned, lowering the booklet. "Did you have a good sleep?"
"Yes thank you, I feel like it is all I do at the moment," Draco sighed, dropping onto the sofa and pouting a little at Harry where he was sitting in the armchair.
"You and Coconut obviously need it," Harry said as he looked at the booklet again.
"I know but…wait coconut?" Draco caught up to what Harry had said and stopped glaring at the ceiling to look at the dark-haired teen confused.
"Sorry!" Harry grimaced. "I read in one of the booklets that she would be the size of a coconut right about now and it stuck in my head,"
"I like it, I don't want to fully decide on a name until I meet her and know it is right for her…coconut is a nice way to refer to her," Draco said thoughtfully stroking his belly.
"The size she was the first time that you got to see her," Harry smiled a little. "And definitely better than if you had seen her last week, she would have been cabbage then,"
"I definitely prefer Coconut," Draco chuckled. "You have read through a good bit already,"
"I want to be able to help you and understand what is going on," Harry shrugged, "and it is interesting,"
"Thank you," Draco said softly.
"No worries, so apparently Coconut will be able to…" Harry started listing some of the things that he had read she would be able to do and experience, and though Draco was listening, he was more thanking whoever would listen that he had someone who seemed to really want to support him and help him through this.
After seven months, he didn't have to do this alone.
"Please tell me that you did not kidnap Draco Malfoy," was the first thing that Hermione said to him as he walked towards her with his arms open.
"I did not kidnap Draco Malfoy, also very rude," Harry pouted crossing his arms.
"Swear it," Hermione held her finger up.
"I swear I did not kidnap Draco Malfoy," Harry huffed. "Honestly, it is like you don't even know me,"
It wasn't kidnapping if the person went with him willingly.
"It is because we know you that we are asking," Ron snorted.
"Also rude, what makes you think I would kidnap him?" Harry puffed out his cheeks as they sat down on the blanket on the grass, his plan for a nice picnic in the park had definitely started off unexpectedly.
"You have been a little bit obsessed with him mate, even more than normal," Ron shrugged.
"Fuck….fudge off! And what do you mean more than normal!" Harry grumbled.
"Did you just say fudge off?" Ron snickered.
"I'm trying to curb my swearing," Harry mumbled.
"I think that is very admirable Harry," Hermione patted his arm.
"Fudge off," Ron chuckled.
"What do you think happened to Malfoy then if Harry didn't kidnap him?" Hermione mused.
"I am still offended that that is where your minds first went to," Harry grumbled. Even though he did have Draco at home, he was offended that they jumped to kidnap. "I haven't really heard anything except that he has gone missing, what are people saying?" He asked unpacking the picnic basket that he had brought with him so that he wasn't looking right at them.
"Apparently he just disappeared from the train. He said he was going to the toilet, got up, and didn't come back, left his trunk and nearly all his belongings," Hermione said.
"I have heard that the Malfoys have been bullying everyone that they can and putting force on the Aurors to try and make as many people as possible that were on the platform to hand over their memories to see if they can find him getting off of the train or if someone took him as he stepped off, or forced him off," Ron listed.
"It is a mystery, you can't apparate from the train," Hermione frowned.
"So how was I meant to have kidnapped him?!" Harry couldn't help but protest.
"If someone would manage to find a way around it it would be you," Hermione rolled his eyes.
"That sounded like more of an insult than a compliment," Harry huffed.
"It was meant to," Hermione stuck her tongue out at him.
"On to more pleasant matters than Malfoy, how is the house going?" Ron asked as he loaded up his plate.
"It hates me and keeps attacking me, but I have made a start on it," Harry nodded.
"I can't wait to see how it looks when we come back," Hermione smiled at him.
"Me either, it will look utterly different!" Harry promised. "Are you guys ready for the holiday?"
"I feel like we have forgotten something," Hermione sighed.
"Not likely, you have list for your lists for your lists," Ron chuckled and then painfully gulped down the mouthful of sandwich he had in his mouth when Hermione glared at him and Harry raised his eyebrow at him. "Which I of course completely and utterly appreciate because otherwise I wouldn't have even half of the things that I will need if I had had to pack for myself," Ron hurriedly added.
"He forgot to pack underwear," Hermione told Harry.
"How did you…yeah never mind," Harry snickered.
"Rude!" Ron imitated. "We're ready to go despite Mione panicking. It feels so odd to know that we will be going tomorrow," Ron shook his head.
"I am sorry that we haven't been able to spend much time with you," Hermione said concernedly.
"It is alright, you have been spending time with your family, I completely get that, I have been busy with the house. And it isn't like we won't be able to speak while you are away," Harry shook his head. "We have spent the last term together in school where you haven't seen your family," Harry shook his head when the two of them still looked guilty.
"We will definitely be calling you and writing to you," Hermione promised.
"I can't wait to hear about what you are going to see and see the pictures," Harry enthused. "What trips do you have booked?" he asked.
They spent the rest of their time talking about what Hermione and Ron's plans were for their holiday, the places that they wanted to go and see, the things that they wanted to do on their trips, and some of the places that they had added in. They also spoke a fair bit about what Harry was planning on doing with the House, and the types of things that he was planning on completing in the time that they were away.
Too soon though they realised that they were going to have to start getting ready to leave. They slowly packed up the picnic and their things and dragged their feet as they slowly walked their way to the entrance of the park and over to the alleyway that they used to apparate.
"You will be there tomorrow to see us off won't you Harry?" Hermione asked.
"Of course, I will be," Harry reassured her and tugged her into a bear hug.
"I think we're both worried that we won't get on without you there as well," Ron laughed wrapping his arms around Harry as the dark-haired teen reached for him.
"I am not living in your house and third-wheeling for the rest of our lives, so you will have to manage without me," Harry snorted. "Just…don't blow up Europe, yes?"
"We will try," Hermione threw her arms around the two of them.
"I will see you tomorrow," Harry kissed both their cheeks before stepping back and they apparated out.
"Draco?" Harry called as he got to the top of the stairs.
"In my room," Draco called.
"Is it ok if I come in?" Harry asked.
"Oh, yes of course!" Draco looked up and smiled at Harry when he walked into the room. "Did you have a good time?" He asked a little uncertainly, not sure what to do or say. He had been feeling a little nervous with Harry leaving the house to meet Granger and Weasley, part of him had been expecting Harry to them what was going on and for them to come back to the house with him.
"We had fun, though I do believe that they are a little nervous about going away together," Harry snorted before coming to stand next to Draco, the blond realising that he was holding his hands behind his back. "I hope you don't mind, but I saw this and thought that it would…I hope you like it," Harry said before holding out a beautiful leather-bound book to Draco, embossed with gold.
Draco took the book confused and placed it down in front of him on the bed, he gasped a little and ran his fingers over the embossing as his breath caught in his throat.
My Baby Book
"And this as well, for one of the pictures of Coconut," Harry said pulling his other hand from behind his back and held out a lovely glass frame with a small engraving of a teddy bear in the corner and at the top it said 'My First Scan'.
"Thank you," Draco bit his lip to stop himself from crying as he looked at the items.
"I hope I didn't overstep," Harry said concerned, not sure what to make of the expression on Draco's face.
"No, I love them I just…it has been just me for so long, and I have been so scared and trying to work out what I was going to do that I haven't really had the chance to be excited about Coconut, getting to be safe, to actually just get to be excited and look forward to her coming is amazing enough, and you have given me that, somewhere safe to be, and then you seem excited for her as well, you're getting these things for her, for me…you just…you will never know how much it means to me," Draco said losing his battle with the tears in his eyes.
"Can I hug you?" Harry asked gently. Draco was just able to nod and close his eyes as Harry's arms closed around him and hugged him firmly, grounding him as he looked at the two items on the bed that would mean more to him than Harry could ever know. "I'm happy that you're here, and I am happy that Coconut is on the way. I want to help you and her, not just somewhere safe to stay but to make sure that you both have what you need,"
"I keep thinking that I don't know if I would have done the same thing if the tables had been turned," Draco said softly.
"Our upbringing was very different, and our circumstances are very different, things happen as they are meant to happen, you have a chance to be a different person, and the person I am seeing is already greatly different," Harry tightened his arms just a little more.
"I want to raise her completely differently from how I was raised, I want her to have a different life. My mother and father would have hated that she was a girl even if I had been married," Draco said quietly reaching out to run his fingers over the book.
"Then you'll do that, and you will let her know that her sex doesn't matter because she is your daughter and she is going to do amazing things," Harry said.
"How do you manage to make everything sound so easy and so sure?" Draco laughed as he wiped his eyes, Harry pulled back to grin at him.
"Hermione mainly says it is because I am blockheaded and stubborn and just ignore everything else,"
"That sounds about right for what I have seen," Draco chuckled. "Thank you, for the book,"
"It has a part for your pregnancy and being able to put in the information through it, and then it has spaces for her birth information, you can put memories in here of all the first moments and different other moments of her life," Harry explained eagerly, and the excitement on his face left Draco in no doubt that he really was excited for Coconut coming along.
"You look…grouchy," Draco blinked.
"It is too early," Harry whined.
"Why are you up so early then?" Draco tried not to laugh taking in the epic bedhead Harry had going on.
"Because I have to go see Hermione and Ron off. Why are you up so early?" Harry blinked and then seemed to have to force his eyes back open.
"Your coffee Master Harry," Kreature popped into the corridor and held the coffee out to Harry looking mildly concerned.
"Thank you," Harry groaned happily taking the coffee and sipping from it eagerly.
"Coconut kicked my bladder, I needed to get up to pee," Draco said, "I am not actually feeling super tired either, I think I have finally caught up a little on my sleep,"
"That's good," Harry said pleased before downing nearly half of his coffee in one breath.
"It is impressive that you managed to function for morning classes," Draco said dryly.
"It was a struggle," Harry grinned cheekily before stretching with a loud groan. "Right, I need to get going, is there anything that you want bringing back for breakfast?"
"Oh could…" Draco said eagerly and then stepped flushing. "Anything is fine,"
"What is it you want?" Harry said part firmly, part teasing.
"Pancakes?" Draco asked far more than stated.
"Hmm, have you ever had Dutch pancakes?" Harry asked.
"No," Draco shook his head.
"There is an amazing place I found last summer that does delicious pancakes, they're from the muggle world though," Harry said with no judgment in his voice. Draco fought down his first reaction.
"I would love to try them!" He tilted his head back, placing his hand on his stomach and reminding himself that he was not going to be his parents, and he was starting now.
"Sweet or savoury?" Harry smiled at him.
"Sweet," Draco said firmly.
"I will be back soon then," Harry nodded.
"Would you like coffee when you come back?" Draco asked.
"Yes please!" Harry groaned.
"I will have it ready for you," Draco said.
"Thank you," Harry groaned.
"Don't splinch yourself," Draco said.
"I can't promise anything," Harry snorted before apparating out.
"Kreature," Draco called as soon as he was gone.
"Yes Master Draco," Kreature popped back in.
"Can you please show me how to make coffee," Draco asked.
"Of course, Master Draco," Kreature smiled and motioned for Draco to follow him down to the kitchen.
Harry looked around the area before spotting the bunch of redheads, chuckling to himself he jogged over to them, Ron smiling happily at him when he spotted him jogging over.
"Hey, you alright, you're looking a little green," Harry said quietly wrapping him in a hug.
"A bit nervous," Ron admitted. "What if she realises that she is so much better than me,"
"She isn't going to realise that because she isn't, you're good for each other. You know all the pluses and negatives about each other, you're going to have an amazing time together," Harry reassured him.
"Harry, it is so lovely to see you," Mrs Granger said as he and Ron parted.
"Hello Mrs Granger, Mr Granger, it is really good you too," Harry hugged Mrs Granger and shook Mr Granger's hand.
"Harry," Molly said with a wealth of feeling, opening her arms and pulling him into a tight hug.
"Molly," Harry squeezed back.
"There you are," Arthur quickly caught Harry in his own hug as soon as Molly let go.
"Harry! You're looking finer and finer with every month," Fred rolled his eyes over Harry before yelping when Charlie smacked him over the back of the head.
"Good to see you Harry," Charlie hugged him.
"You too," Harry squeezed until he groaned dramatically.
"Hey," Hermione threw her arms around him. "I am really nervous,"
"You are going to be fine, you will have an amazing time," Harry kissed her cheek and squeezed her. "I am on the other end of the floo if you need to speak to me,"
"Thank you, I hope that this goes well," Hermione glanced at Ron, "what happens if he gets fed up with me,"
"He won't," Harry smiled gently. "You're going to have an amazing time together, you're going to get to see all the things that you want to see, and you're going to get to relax the way you deserve,"
"Right," Hermione nodded, "I am going to miss you,"
"I am going to miss you too, so much," Harry wrapped her in a tight hug and swayed the two of them for a moment before laughing when Ron wrapped his arms around him from behind and swayed with them.
"Don't get into trouble while we are away," Hermione warned.
"I won't I promise, I am going to be spending most of my time in the house doing it up," Harry assured her.
"Come on you two, time for your portkey," Molly said checking the time.
"So much better than flying," Mr. Granger shook his head.
"I would like to try an Aeroflane," Arthur said wistfully as they made their way to the portkey point.
"Aeroplane, trust me if you ever do it fly a short-haul flight otherwise you will regret it," Mr Granger chuckled.
"Ok, here we are," Hermione shrugged her backpack fully onto her shoulders and Ron followed suit before they reached out and took the length of rope that was their portkey while everyone else gathered around close by.
"Have an amazing time!"
"Don't forget to call!"
"Bring back a toilet seat from every country!"
"Don't forget to get a lot of pictures!"
"George! Do not bring back any toilet seats!"
"Don't get into trouble!"
"Don't kill anyone!"
"Every country!"
"See you soon!"
"Ginny don't encourage them!"
"Love you both!"
Hermione and Ron grinned at them and waved right before the portkey tugged them away.
"They've grown up so fast," Molly sniffed.
"Haven't they, I thought it was bad enough when she wanted to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas, now they're off touring for weeks," Mrs Granger nodded.
"Some of us are going to get a coffee, will you join us?" Arthur asked.
"I'm going to get home and carry on with the drawing room, I will see you on Wednesday though for lunch," Harry assured them. "Unless the house kills me, if you haven't heard from me by Tuesday you should probably presume it has," he added with a snort.
"You know if you need any help with it just give us a shout," Molly told him sternly.
"I know, I will don't worry. It just feels right to do it myself," Harry linked their arms together as they started making their way towards the exit.
"I can't wait until you are finished and we get to see it," Molly squeezed his arm.
"I will have a house party so you can all see it," he promised.
"We will hold you to that," Bill warned him.
"Don't worry you will get to see it," Harry chuckled. "Right, I will see you all on Wednesday," He kissed Molly's cheek and then went around everyone getting hugs, finishing with Fleur and then giving Victorie a kiss on the forehead.
"I'm back!" He called as he apparated into the hallway and started making his way down to the kitchen.
"Did they get away ok?" Draco asked as Harry walked in.
"They did, a bit nervous about spending time just them together, but they got away," Harry said walking to the table and placing the two containers down on the table.
"That smells amazing," Draco hummed walking over to the table and placing two cups down onto it. "Their first holiday away together, that is to be expected I guess,"
"Apple and cinnamon with whipped cream," Harry said, opening the containers.
"Oh wow!" Draco's eyes practically formed hearts as he looked at the pizza-sized, thin pancake with slices of apple in it.
"They're the best pancakes I have ever had," Harry promised before groaning as he took a mouthful of coffee, "Thank you, this is so good. I needed this,"
"Oh, you're welcome," Draco flushed a little, pleased at the praise even if it was for something so simple. "What are your plans for today?" he asked after taking a few big bites of the pancake.
"Mainly attack the drawing room while it attacks me," Harry snorted. "I'm glad you're here, I was planning on doing this anyway by myself, at least you're in the house to help me if something happens,"
"I believe my great Aunt was utterly mad. I saw the tapestry," Draco said hesitantly.
"Ah yes, the blasting job she did on it," Harry huffed.
"I know how to repair it, if you would like?" Draco suggested.
"I…I would like that, thank you," Harry nodded.
"If there is anything that I can help with please let me know," Draco said earnestly.
"Even if I tell you that I am planning on painting one of the rooms red and gold?" Harry grinned.
"I would recommend their old bedroom," Draco smirked.
"No that is a plan," Harry said mock thoughtfully. "Do you have any plans yourself?"
"I was thinking of going through the booklets on different types of births and start reading one of the other baby books," Draco said.
"Sounds good. I wanted to talk to you about the things that you're going to need for the baby," Harry said awkwardly.
"I…" Draco obviously knew where the conversation was going as his cheeks lit up red with humiliation.
"Whatever you need for her, I will lend you the money to buy, I meant what I said,"
"Babies things are so expensive, I can't…I looked at some of the catalogues that you brought back, and just a cot or pram is so expensive and…"
"And I can more than afford it. I don't want her going without something or not getting something that she needs or will make her happier, comfier, or safer because you are worried about money. I mean it Draco, anything that you need, anything that she needs,"
"You're doing so much for us," Draco shook his head.
"If I think there is something that she needs that you haven't bought I will buy it myself, and it will have lions and or red and gold ALL OVER IT," Harry warned.
"Well if that is the threat I had better listen to you," Draco sniffed pointing his nose into the air before sobering a little, "I will pay you back I swear,"
"I know you will, when you're famous at whatever it is that you decide to do you will be more than able to pay me back," Harry smiled.
"Potions Master, I would like to be a Potions Master, like Severus," Draco said softly.
"Potions Master, I can see you being amazing at that, Hermione was always so frustrated that you always managed to get the highest scores in potions," Harry nodded. "Can I ask about your relationship with Snape?"
"Severus is basically like my Uncle, he has been there for as long as I can remember, believe it or not he was always fun and did things that Mother and Father wouldn't really let me do because it wasn't proper. He's been more like my godfather than my actual godfather,"
"So he isn't actually your godfather?" Harry asked.
"No," Draco snorted, "mother and father wouldn't have allowed him to be, not with his blood status,"
"Ah, yeah," Harry grimaced.
"It was just another reason why I had my doubts about what they taught me. Severus is more powerful than most of the purebloods I know, I definitely more clever,"
"Would he not help you?" Harry asked as gently as he could, but a strained expression still crossed Draco's face.
"I think I have thought about going to him a million times over the last seven months, but every time I went to talk to him, I just couldn't risk that he wouldn't believe it was for the best to tell my parents, and even to give Coconut up. He will think I'm ruining my life and my options by choosing to have her and keep her," Draco sighed.
"At the end of the day no one can decide that by you, whatever you choose is the right decision, and you have chosen to keep her. And you're not going to be alone in it," Harry said honestly.
"I think, I can't help but keep thinking that she is a blessing in disguise. If she hadn't happened, I wouldn't have made the choices that I did, I would probably have lived the rest of my life the same way, I would have buried the doubts I had about the Pureblood world and how they thought and carried on living under my father's thumb, becoming like him. Even though I have very little to my own name right now, and I am having to live off of your kindness, I feel as though I have a chance at a different life now," Draco said thoughtfully, watching his hands stroking over his stomach.
"You and her deserve to have the life that you want and not the life that you feel that you have no choice but to live," Harry nodded.
"You sound like you completely get that," Draco looked up.
"I am the Chosen One, The Golden Boy, The-Boy-Who-Lived-Twice, if I have learned anything over the last seven years of being in the Wizarding World it is that someone will always have an opinion on what I should be doing, how I should be acting, how I should present myself, what I should think. At the end of the day, I have decided to do what makes me happy and live my life the way I want to and fuc…fudge everyone else, the only people that get an opinion are my friends and family, otherwise I will live the rest of my life miserable and still won't be doing the right thing," Harry shrugged.
"I wish I had the support to do that," Draco smiled a little.
"You do, I will be your cheerleader, and when you are ready, whenever that is, my friends and family will support you as well,"
"I've been so horrible to them," Draco shook his head.
"But you want to change, and that is all that matters at the end of the day,"
"So idealistic Potter,"
"So doom and gloom Malfoy!" Harry teased back.
"Rude," Draco sniffed. "I am lugging around a small human inside of me, and I am allowed to be a little doom and gloom,"
"She will have a little storm cloud above her head! Positive thoughts!"
"My back aches and my ankles are twice their normal size, I will positive thoughts you!"
"Now now, that isn't a positive thought!" Harry grinned cheekily and finally Draco broke down laughing shaking his head.
Draco yawned as he walked into the kitchen rubbing his eyes to get the sleep from them before stretching from his nap. He found Harry in the kitchen as he had thought he would be after a week of living here and realising that Harry enjoyed spending time in the room, as he walked in a lovely smell washed over him, something sweet, and he chuckled when he turned and saw the larger kitchen table was covered in carrier bags and DIY equipment.
"A few things?" Draco teased.
"They had a lot of interesting things in there!" Harry defended from where he was standing stirring a pan at the cooker. "I also decided what I am doing with the big table,"
"Oh what?" Draco asked curiously. Harry had been debating what to do with the table not really liking keeping the table that had been used by Mrs Black, but not being sure about getting rid of it.
"The lady in the store told me about a treatment that I can do to essentially strip the whole table back, repair it, and reshape it. I bought some potions and spells that I can use on it, and a couple of tools to help me. I just need to decide what shape I want it to be in,"
"That sounds…what's this?" Draco paused and looked again at the calendar that was definitely new and had been pinned up on the door to the cooling cupboard where he had been reaching out to get them both a drink. There were already a couple of dates marked off on the July page, and when he lifted it August, September and October had a few notes in it.
"So we can keep track of your appointments and different things like that, milestones for Coconut and that," Harry glanced over his shoulder.
"Thank you," Draco turned to look back at the calendar with a soft smile, reaching out to touch the calendar.
"I also bought a couple of things that should help with the wallpaper in the drawing room, I swear it will not beat me!" Harry grumbled and started talking about the different items he had bought. Draco had to admit that he wasn't listening to what Harry was saying, instead he was thinking how lucky he was.
