Chapter 1 parcel tongue
Konoha- business district
October tenth, the day of the festival. A celebration and a day of mourning for the defeat
of the nine tailed fox. It is also a day of near death experiences for one eight year old boy. Naruto
Uzumaki, the resident prankster of the hidden leaf village, is currently running for his life away
from a giant mob of drunken civilians, genin shinobi, and chunin shinobi.
"Why won't they leave me alone! I haven't done any pranks in weeks since I started the
academy mid summer, and today is my birthday so I didn't pull any pranks today either. I need to
find a way to lose this mob!" Naruto said to himself.
While dipping and dodging through the trees, avoiding a good majority of the thrown
projections from the civilians and shinobi, he was still hit with glancing cuts from the kunai and
shuriken from the shinobi. Nothing fatal but just enough to make the cuts and stabs hurt and not
heal for a long time. Naruto could only hear the hateful words and threats from the shinobi
chasing after him.
"get back here, you filthy demon!"
"Why don't you just give up and die already!"
"We'll finish what lord fourth started, you Damn demon!"
"you'll die for what you did to our friends and family, you Damn demon!"
"Kill the filthy demon!"

Naruto was always called a demon brat or just demon ever since he could remember by
the vast majority of the village. He never understood why and the only people he trusted would
never tell him. He was only told that people fear what the don't understand.
As he ran further and further away from the mob he came across a fence that had wire on
top with signs saying to keep out and danger.
'There should be a way to slip under the fence before they can catch up. After that I
should be able to hide somewhere they won't find me.' Naruto thought
Pulling into top speed he ran as fast and far as he could until he reached the barbed wire
topped fence. He was able to see a small opening in the fencing and made it through. Getting a
good head start on running as the mob arrived to the fence.
"Woah! Everyone get back! This is training ground 44, also known as the forest of death.
Id he ran in there he's going to get worse than what we child do to him." One of the chunin said
"How bad could this training ground be? If that little demon could go in I'm sure I could
get him out." Said one of the sober civilians
"The forest of death was made by the first hokage after he accidently overloaded one of
his sage infused wood style techniques. Everything living in that forest has been living in an
area so saturated with nature energy that the size of any animal in there would be like comparing
the Inuzuka hounds to regular pups. Not to mention its so hostile in there that is only reserved for
elite jonin, anbu, anyone above jonin clearance, and the chunin exams. Even with the chunin
exams they have anbu in certain areas to section of the most deadly of areas. That boy is not
coming out alive." said the most experienced chunin there.
All of the genin left after the explanation and the chunin either went home for mission
detail in the morning or to eat after chasing the so called demon brat.
With Naruto
Still running at top speed, Naruto has not noticed that the mob neglected to follow him
past the fence. As he dodged and weaved between the massive and numerous trees, his unusually
high stamina had gotten low enough for him to need to stop to breathe.
"it looks like I finally lost then. I wonder just what part of the village I'm in."
Naruto soon starts to wander and examine his surroundings to try to gain some semblance
of knowledge on his location. Only to realize that every plant and tree that he sees is unnaturally
larger than normal. After about two hours of wandering in the forest he heard large rumblings
behind the trees to his right. Fearing that the mob had fought to with him, Naruto ran as fast as he
could until he ran into a tiger twice the size of the hokage.
"Ok. Nice kitty. Don't eat the nice little boy ok? I'll help you get some fish to eat ok?"
Naruto tried to bribe his way out of getting eatenby the larger than normal tiger. Trying to
back up slowly until his back touched up against a massive tree trunk.
"I never thought that I'd end up dying at carry food. I guess my dream of becoming
hokage isn't going to happen now." As he closed his eyes awaiting his demise, an unexpected
interruption occurred. Naruto opened his eyes to a snake so long and massive that he thought it
could swallow ten people at once with ease and coil around his apartment building without worry
and still have body space to go. Said snake had its fangs deep in the large tiger ending its life
before swallowing it whole.
Every instinct in Naruto told him to run for his life but his body was too stiff with fear to
move. His levels of fear skyrocketed when the overly massive snake started to stare into his eyes.
As it slithered ever so closely to the boy to get a better look, Naruto didn't dare move a muscle
besides to breathe.
"Long way from home, aren't you boy?" The snake asked
Bewildered that not only can this snake swallow him whole without a problem but it can
also speak.
"I guess you've been through a rough night to be this racked with fear to the point its
intoxicating. Can you tell me your name? Don't worry, boy. I won't eat you. You're far too
skinny and young to be of any sustenance to me, and that tiger should satisfy me at least until
morning when I cam find something much better than you to eat." The snake explained
As Naruto slowly started to relax the snake offered for him to rest on its back. When he
agreed the snake started to slowly climb into the treetops. "my name is Naruto Uzumaki, future
hokage of the leaf village. What's your name?"
The snakes eyes went wide, but that Naruto could see. But he noticed that the snake
stopped moving through the trees and coiled around a few branches.
" my name is Mizuno, and I am a snake summons. My mistress summoned me in this
forest long ago and asked me to be your guide through the chunin exams when you took them at
the time you were ready. But to see you now when you haven't even completed the academy it
worrying." Mizuno stated.
"Who is your mistress? If she had you here to help me them she must be nice." Naruto
asked
"I cannot tell you her name at the moment as she had used many different names over the
years, but I can tell you that if I'm correct her original name, I may have forgotten after all these
years of being in this forest, that she was close to both of your parents and the hokage. You also
have godparents but I have no knowledge of who they are. If they are still living just know that
they are powerful shinobi and can't be in the village because of the increased threat to your
safety."
"What do you mean increased threat to my safety! I'm chased, beaten, poisoned, and a lot
of other horrible things that the Villiers and some shinobi that come after me because of
something I don't even know!"
"I understand not than you think, young Uzumaki. I can communicate with every snake
in the village and I get word of all the things that happened to you since your birth but I cannot
leave this forest until my mistress says otherwise. If your parents were still alive, or if either of
your godparents were around, there would be more than leaf genin and chunin coming after you.
You world have to worry about assassins from other villages, chunin and jonin and anbu from
other villages and entire nations wanting you dead. There are those that care about you but can
only do so much."
As Naruto took everything in, he slowly understood what he was being told.
"I understand, Mizuno. I may not like it but I do understand." Naruto said
"you will rest here for the rest of the night and at dawn I will get you as close to
ibe if the fences you came in through. I will however need to throw your over the
fence with my tail. Are you alright with this?" Mizuno asked the boy.
"Yes, I am, Mizuno-san. Thank you four saving me."
"anytime Naruto-kun. You must also not tell anyone about our conversation. Not even
the hokage. I will be found out and killed and I want to be able to help you whenever I can."
After Naruto nodded in understanding, he went to sleep until sunrise where he rode on
Mizuno to the edge of the forest.
"Naruto-kun, before I send you over the fence, I want you to take a few of my scales.
This will allow me to find you quickly if you ever come back to this forest and it will also cause
other animals to stay away from you in fear of me." Mizuno told him
After Naruto gathered the few scales, being told of the areas that wouldn't cause pain, he
was flung over the fence and was told the direction to go to get to the village again. Upon getting
an hours walk away from the village gate, Naruto was surrounded on all sides by 4 anbu.
"Uzumaki Naruto, lord hokage has ordered us to deliver you to him upon discovery."
Said one of the anbu
Naruto only agreed and the anbu used body flicker to transport him to the hokage tower.
When their arrived, having not being used to traveling at such high speeds and at such tight turns
and corners, Naruto promptly lost what was left of his dinner last night as he vomits immediately
and collapses. Hiruzen could only sweat drop at what he saw appear and occur in his office.
"Where did you find him and how far did you body flicker from? I know he has a strong
stomach and is capable of handling a lot for his age." Thy hokage questioned
"Lord hokage, we were assigned to check the perimeter of training ground 44 when we
saw young Uzumaki fly out of the treetops beyond the fence inside the training grounds. I
believe he can inform you on how he arrived there and survived." The anbu team explained
"very well, please lie him on the couch and have my secretary bring a blanket, pillow,
and a pot of tea four the boy."
With a silent nod, one of the anbu cleaned up the vomit, and the others gathered the
things the hokage requested before returning to headquarters to call of the search.
The mobs kept finding a way to go after Naruto, week after week, month after month.
Naruto told the hokage that he found a hollowed tree trunk to hide in for the night after getting
past the fence and it was just far enough from the fence that you can't see where he goes but can
still get back to. Hiruzen was skeptical but told Naruto that if the anbu can't get to him in time
that he should return there. Each time they chased him, Naruto manages to lose the mobs at the
gate to the training grounds as the civilians aren't brave enough (or stupid enough) to follow him
inside and the chunin that took their exams inside Konoha remember their time inside the forest
so they don't try to follow. It was only one morning when Naruto didn't meet up with Mizuno the
night before where he saw a very injured but small white snake about to be eaten by a wolverine.
"I've got to help!" he says
Unknowingly flooding his coils with Chakra, Naruto sprints at such a high speed that
when he comes collides with the two foot wolverine, it's sent flying fast into the forest. Naruto
proceeds to go to the Inuzuka house because he remembers that kiba's family helps heal animals.
Inuzuka veterinarian shop
Upon opening the door to the shop, Kiba saw his somewhat close classmate, Naruto. But
he looked out of breath and carrying something around his arm and hands.
"Hey, Naruto. What's with the rush, and what's on your arm?"
Before Naruto could speak, as he got closer, Kiba could see that Naruto had a snake wrapped
around his arm.
"Hey, Kiba." He said taking deep breaths because of going at top speed for such a long distance.
"I was hoping someone in your family knew for to treat wounds for snakes. I saved this one from
being eaten by a wolverine. Please say you can help. I don't want this little guy to die." Naruto
begged
"Mom! Hana! We've got an emergency here!" Kiba managed to yell. Fortunately he was able to
gather the attention of his mother and sister, who managed to get to the front desk within the next
few minutes.
"What's up pup, what's the emergency?" Kiba's mother asked him.
"my classmate, Naruto came in asking if we could help his pet snake. He said he had to save it
from being stem by a wolverine when he was in the forest. Doesn't look like it'll last that long
unless we can help it though." Kiba answered.
Hana Inuzuka was a 13 year old genin studying to be a veterinarian under her mother. She had
long brown hair, brown eyes, signature Inuzuka fans tattoos on her face but had softer and more
feminine features compared to the more feral features her mother and brother have. Tsume
Inuzuka, mother to both Hana and Kiba, the head of the Inuzuka clan is what most shinobi think
of when they think of the clan. Feral features, highly beautiful and bountiful figure, but loyal to
friends, family and the village at all costs.
The two older Inuzuka took a long hard look at Naruto and the snake he had with him, causing
him to sweat profusely. They ultimately said they'd try to save the snake but he'd have to come
back tomorrow morning.
"Do you still have the equipment needed to care for such a delicate reptile at home, Naruto?"
Hana asks
Not wanting to anger the cute lady, Naruto shook his head.
"Not anymore. The villagers break in and wreck anything and everything I have when I manage
to get even the smallest of nice things. So you have anything I can buy to help take care of it?
The hokage gives me an allowance every week to pay for things I need and he takes care of the
rent."
Since you're such close friends with Kiba, you can help him with cleaning out the kennels this
weekend as I heard from your teacher that you snuck out of class the past few days. I was
originally going to have him do it alone but since you need help with your snake friend, and you
both need to learn a lesson from skipping class." Tsume told them both.
Reluctantly agreeing Naruto gave the highest respect that he could give anyone and bowed
while thanking the three of them. That Saturday, Naruto and Kiba cleaned out the kennels and
Hana helped Naruto set up the equipment for hours pet snake.
"Thank you again, Hana-Chan. No one besides Hokage-sama, had ever considered helping me
with anything before." Naruto said with a sad tone
"It's sad blue no one wants to help a cutie like you Naruto-kun. Always get her some mice to eat
a few times a day, make sure it's not too hot for her, and make sure she has enough water. Since
your food friends with Kiba, you can always come to the family vet for anything and I'll help
you. Maybe when you're a bit older you could help me with a few things." Hana said before she
kissed him on his cheek, causing him to go red in the face. "Don't be a stranger and visit the clan
again! Having someone besides mom and Kiba around would be nice." After she said that, Hana
left to go back home.
Still stunned after the kiss, Naruto stood in the same spot for an hour until his stomach decided to
make itself known as empty. After making a few bowls of instant Ramen, Naruto went hunting
through thy apartment building for mice and other small rodents to feed his pet snake. Setting up
a steel feeding tube so the mice can't chew their way out, he instructs the snake on how to use the
levers on her side of the container. Thinking that for some reason she can comprehend what he's
saying, he asked her what kind of name she would like to be called, he asked her to shake her
head for Yes and her tail for no. After bouncing around a few dozen names, he finally got to the
name Atatho.
"Alright, Atatho. The steel pipe contraption I thought of here is so that I can keep a few mice for
you, they shouldn't die in the next day or so and it only can hold 3. It's got interconnecting trap
doors holding the other two separate from each other and made of metal too. Once you push the
lever the lowest one will fall to you making it easier for you to eat. I'll be trying to expand it so
that I can add more. There is a lever for the heat lamp in case you get too hot or cold. When I'm
at the academy I won't be able to turn it on or off for you. You're the only one so far that hasn't
run away from me so far, not counting Jiji and the ichiraku family. If Kiba and his family still
want to be around me after this I'll be even happier. I must sound crazy for taking to a snake,
don't I?" Naruto ended with the question.
Surprisingly Atatho shook her tail, indicating that she was answering no.
"Well it's time to get to bed, I hope you enjoy the mice I was able to get you. Goodnight,
Atatho." Naruto said before falling asleep.
Naruto took Atatho to the Inuzuka vet once a week to hang with Kiba and to ensure that Atatho
is still healthy.
Six months later
Konoha academy
"Alright, class. Today we're going over the hokage and the various clans in the village. Who can
tell me the names of the hokage and the clans they come from." Iruka asked the class
A kunoichi with cherry blossom hair, raised their hand.
"Sakura, can you answer the question?" iruka asked
"the hokage are hashirama from the Senju clan, Tobirama from the Senju clan, Hiruzen from the
Sarutobi clan, and Minato from the Namikaze clan."
"excellent, Sakura. Now can anyone tell me who the founding 1clans in konoha are?" iruka asks
A kunoichi with pale lavender eyes and blue hair raises her hand.
"Hinata, please tell us your answer" iruka said
There is the Senju, Sarutobi, Hyuga, Uchiha, Nara, Akimichi, yamanaka, Aburame, Inuzuka,
Namikaze, shimura, Kurama, hatake, and Uzumaki." Hinata said
"WHAT!?" said the entire class
"Hinata, please explain further. The academy curriculum doesn't mention the Uzumaki. How
were they a founding clan?" iruka asks
"when I'm not training with my father at home I'm usually reading the books in the clan library. I
came across a book on the Senju clan and it showed good how lord first was married to an
Uzumaki named Mito in a clan alliance before he made the truce with the Uchiha and starting the
leaf village. This clan marriage is why we have so many high quality seals and why we have the
spirals in the leaf symbols as well as on the chunin, and jonin jackets. The Uzumaki were from
the land of whirling tides but were wiped out but a collective of hidden cloud, must, rain, and
stone. At the end of the second shinobi war. The Uzumaki were well known for their various
shades of red hair. Being outnumbered 20 to one they managed to wipe out eighty percent of the
invading force while the civilians fled the islands and scattered to the winds. Because of the
alliance between konoha and the Uzumaki, konoha took in as many Uzumaki as possible but
many of them were hunted down before they could arrive. Naruto could possibly be the very last
if one of his parents were truly Uzumaki." Hinata explained
While everyone was amazed that such fascinating history was not being taught. No one noticed
that Naruto was silently crying his eyes out. No one but Hinata.
"Naruto-kun, are you OK?" Hinata asks as Naruto silently stood from his seat.
As everyone turned to look at Naruto, he Han to jump out the window, which scared the entire
class. They only calmed down when they saw him running down the road to the hokage tower.
"Alright class, I'm going to go find Naruto. Until I return you are to practice your Chakra control
and the three techniques you'll need to graduate in a few years."
After saying that, iruka disappeared in a cloud of smoke leaving the class to practice.
Same day, two hours later- Hokage Tower
As Naruto walked through the hokage tower, he couldn't stop the tears he had. Thinking of all
the times he had asked and begged the old man to tell him something or just anything about who
his family is or if he still had one. To only get vague answers or misdirect the question to
something else and not have to answer the original question. Well, he's not getting away this
time. As he arrived at the office die he did what he usually never did. He knocked.
"come in" the hokage said
When Naruto entered. Hiruzen was surprised.
"Aren't you supposed to be in class Naruto? What brings you here?" Hiruzen asked
"Why didn't you tell me about Mito Uzumaki and the land of whirling tides? Why keep me in the
dark about my own family? Of all the times I asked and when begged to know when the smallest
bit of information about my family, you told me nothing. I only found out because a few of my
classmates were answering questions about the founding clans and mentioned the Uzumaki.
Iruka sensei asked for more info from them as he said that the academy books had nothing in the
Uzumaki, and fortunately the clan archives of the Hyuga and Nara had it. Because I had to find
out from my classmates and not you, I know that you know who my parents are, if I have
anymore family alive, and the reason nearly everyone in the village, even those in my academy
class, treats me like I'm not even human. It's alright, I can take care of myself like I have been
skiing this entire time. Always ignored, overcharged, poisoned, beaten, and tortured and used for
target practice. And don't think I didn't notice how after you come visit the rundown apartment
I'm in that it's always broken into and any thing I could possibly have that is nice is either
missing or broken beyond repair. I may not know which of my parents is an Uzumaki, but I
know they would be disappointed. Of all the people in this entire village, I trusted you the most,
not as the hokage, not as an elder of the village or any of that political nonsense, but as someone
I saw as a grandfather when I knew nothing of the family I either was supposed to have or no
longer have. I just want to know why?"
After Naruto's rant Hiruzen lit his pipe and took a deep breath of smoke.
" I removed all mentions of the Uzumaki from the academy to make an effort to keep others
from making any connections between you and any of the hokage. If anyone outside of the leaf
council could make any connection between you and any of the hokage, then you would have
been killed by association or name alone. Lord first and his wife had assassins after them for
decades. All of the hokage had bounties and assassins after them. I still have a bounty on my
head in many of the minor villages as well as hidden stone, and if the village didn't fall after the
second shinobi war, the hidden sky village. Not to mention that there are those here in the village
that want you for your genetics and potential abilities. You may not be full Uzumaki as you have
spikey blonde hair. But you have enough that if another village wanted to kidnap you and they
had another Uzumaki somehow they would have used the both of you as breeding stock to get a
full blooded Uzumaki and then to breed the clan under Their village rule and control. I couldn't
and wouldn't risk the chance that you'd let it spill to anyone that would listen just so you'd get
some attention." Hiruzen tried to reason.
"I can understand most of that, but what I can't believe is why you didn't have any trust in me to
keep my mouth shut. I had never told anyone how I got into all of the high security areas, like
anbu HQ or Ibiki's office, or how I was able to get in and out of the council room during an
active council meeting without being caught. A lot of that information even those inside the
village would have paid a premium for, and I valued your trust above that. I see that I was
wrong. I went spill what I know, but I won't be coming back unless it is to get the orphans
allowance or for shinobi duties when I graduate. Goodbye Hokage-sama." As Naruto got up to
leave. Hiruzen stopped him
Naruto, wait. I may have lost your trust, but you are training to be a soldier of this village. You
will respect my decisions whether you like them or not. What I decide my soldiers are to know is
my decision to make and mine alone. The higher in rank you go, the more you'll understand how
high the cost and how heavy the burden is at then you have the lives of others dependent on your
actions." The hokage tried to explain and to keep ng Naruto on his side.
" I understand, Hokage-sama. Have a good day." Naruto had said in a much of a respectful tone
he could give, but Hiruzen knew that all traces of trust were vacant from the boy's voice.
As Naruto left the hokage office he could only reflect on at to it the things that had
occurred to him recently. The mobs chasing him whenever he Seems to find himself in a good
mood for a change, how after the hokage visits within the following week his apartment is
broken into and anything Naruto himself considered nice was either deliberately broken or
missing while the rest was trashed, and how anything regarding his family was kept from him. It
was only then that his senses were telling him to go straight back home. Something was talking
him to take Atatho to the forest to Mizuno. As he arrived back to his home, he saw his teacher
knocking on the door.
"Sensei? What are you doing here?" Naruto questioned his academy teacher.
"There you are! I've been looking for you. You can't just bolt out of class whenever you
feel like it. Just like you can't abandon a mission just because you feel like it." Iruka started to
lecture.
"How would you have handled it if you found put that you were lied to your entire life by
the one person who you believed would tell you anything. Led to believe that there is no one left
in your family, that no one could have helped you or care for you. And even worse that he had no
clue who your parents were or where they came from. Only to find out from a classmate that
you're from a clan that helped found the very village you live in. That the clan you belong to
had a political marriage with the first hokage, and that there is a small chance that one of the
Sannin is a direct relative to you but she hasn't been in the village since before the fourth became
hokage. I'm only saying this to you because you're the only person left who I came to trust. I
may respect the hokage for his wisdom and power, but I can no longer trust him or believe him."
Naruto said
"I'm so sorry, Naruto. I can understand why you left like you did. If you need to talk,
then I'll help where I can." Iruka said, trying to help his student.
"is alright sensei, but I'd just like to be alone for today."
"That's alright, Naruto. If you want to talk you can always talk to me after class on any
day." Iruka said
With a nod Naruto went into his apartment to get Atatho from her habitat before taking
her to the forest of death.
As he meets up with Mizuno, he is shocked when he hears the large snake yell in terror.
"Lady Sitra! Your grandfather is worried sick about you! Not only had you slithered off
to Gods know where, but you managed to be in the human world!" I'm not taking this
responsibility! I refuse to lose my fangs because of you!"
Hearing what Mizuno said he had to interrupt.
"Excuse me, Mizuno. But who is her grandfather?" Naruto asked
"Of course your wouldn't know because she can only spell the serpents tongue. Her
grandfather is the sacred snake sage of the snake summons, he is also the snake that your
benefactor answers to. What I want to know is how you managed to find the pride of the snakes
when the highest skilled trackers of the clan couldn't." Mizuno ended up questing him
" I was running away from another mob and managed to give them the slip before I found
her about to be devoured by a wolverine. I ran and punted it across the clearing and took to the
Inuzuka vet. After they were able to heal her injuries they helped me get everything that would
make her comfortable in my apartment until I noticed that the one person I thought I could trust
was probably why my special things were broken when my apartment kept getting broken into.
So I thought it would be better for her if I brought her to you."
"Well, Naruto. The whole of the snake clan is in your debt. I'm going to take you both
back to Ryūchi Cave. From here on out, anything you see and hear cannot be told regardless of
who asks. Do you understand?"
Naruto nodded and climbed on Mizuno's back before she wrapped around the two of
them, and reverse summoned herself back to the cave.
