Hello all. I'm back. This story came to me in a dream and I'm dying to get it to you lol.

Standard Disclaimer for all chapters: I do not own Twilight nor do I make any money from this. Again, just throwing a random character into the void of this massive world to play.

This story starts after Edward leaves Bella in New Moon. It's December, almost Christmas. The story is not canon and will trail off the known path. There will be snippets of canon, but mostly this is my mind playing games with my dreams. Forwarned, this is a Bella/Felix and OC/Demetri story. If you do not like the pairing, or Edward bashing, then kindly leave and find something else more your taste, unless you're curious, then feel free to read 😊. Hope you enjoy. I'm hoping to stick with a weekly update, see how it goes. Reviews are Ramen to me, always wanting more lol.

Chapter 1: A Look Ahead

December looks as it always does in Forks. Snow, snow, more snow. Bella looked out her window and sighed. Another day. Another day without…. Him. Everyone knows by now Edward left Bella. He nor his family have been heard from since they left a month ago. Everyone tried to get Bella to talk to them, with no avail. It's like she was a shadow or ghost of what she'd been. It's not like she was there when the Cullens were still around. Her life revolved around them, mainly Edward. But still, she would smile, talk, she would just try.

Now, she doesn't try, she doesn't talk. More sighs, maybe mumbling, her looks always vacant. Charlie had had enough.

"Bella, I'm worried. Frankly, I think you need to see your mother, we're both scared," Charlie, her dad, said with one of his hands covering his mouth as his mind raced with conflicting thoughts.

Bella at first, didn't reply.

"Bella," he said again.

"Uh, what?" she shook her head and turned from her window.

"I said you need to go see your mother. Get out for a bit." He replied.

"What? No, no, I'm fine." Bella tried but neither she nor her dad believed it.

"Bella, it's been a month. I know this weather isn't helping either. I think it would be good for you. I'll most likely be working the holidays anyway." Charlie said as he put his hand on her shoulder. "I don't know what else to do."

Bella looked down. "I know dad. And I'm sorry. It's just rough. I'll make more of an effort. I promise." Bella lightly tapped his hand on her shoulder and tried to smile at him. "I don't want to leave. I know he's not coming back. But I just don't feel right leaving."

Charlie sighed. "Ok, here's the deal. I don't want you to leave either, if I can help it. But if nothing changes in a week, then I'm sending you to see her. A change of scenery would help you, but I'll work with you on this. Okay?"

Bella looked at her dad, then around her room and sighed. "Okay dad. Deal."

"Okay. I have to head out. I'll be late, don't wait up. Get to school." Charlie let go of her shoulder and started towards her door. He stopped and looked at her and she smiled.

"An effort," he nodded to her then left downstairs.

"Yeah," she mumbled, "an effort." She got her bag and headed downstairs.

As Bella drove to school in her old but resilient and reliable 'beast' of a truck, she went over the last month. Her dad was right. She needed to make a change. Edward was her first love, so naturally there would be epic heartbreak and moodiness.

But, ever resolved, Bella knew, deep down, if she looked hard enough, there was hope. Hope that his leaving meant there was something even more wonderful and beautiful waiting for her.

She looked ahead as she drove. "Ok dad," she said more to herself, "an effort it will be."

Okay, short first chappie. A little dip if you will. I'm basically explaining where Bella's mood is as we head into the story. Chapter 2 will be out next week, and Bella gets a new friend. See you all later 😊
