Story Start!
Zombies.
The undead given second life by the bite of another zombie, where a single bite to the living was a sure-fire death sentence. They spread through biting, and every new victim would then proceed to overwhelm survivors and thus drastically increase their numbers. 1 zombie would become 2 zombies, and then 2 zombies would proceed to become 4, with 4 becoming 8 soon after with little to stop it.
That was just if they kept biting 1 person.
1 zombie could easily make 100 living people into zombies by themselves, and those 100 people could make 100 more zombies. 1 single zombie could be the starting point to making 10,000 zombies with ease.
"Damnit, I've been bitten."
"DAMNIT, you are the ONE person I would have REALLY... REALLY liked to have NOT gotten bitten..." A 19 year old blond haired man shouted at the top of his lungs in frustration when he saw a bite mark on another 19 year old's arm. He was Uzumaki Naruto, standing at a height and build of a professional athlete, he was build for combat and could turn a man's head into splattered watermelon with his bare hands if he wanted to.
His friend was Uchiha Sasuke, similar in physique, though a slimmer build than Naruto, with opposite looks.
"Well... What are we going to do, you saw what happened to the college campus... and several of those zombies escaped." Sasuke stated as he ripped his jacket off and tied it around his arm. He was bitten, which was a death sentence for him. He made peace with himself, and made determined glances in all directions. "... I'll search that way for any of the escaped zombies, you search the nearby high school. You can drive a bus if you need to."
"I can drive, but Sasuke..." Naruto looked at Sasuke's bleeding arm.
They stared at each other.
"Loser... we're wasting valuable time doing this when we should be hunting down those zombies that escaped..." Sasuke smiled all the same when he saw the sad look his friend had in his eyes. The way that Naruto looked at his wounded arm with just despair filled him with happiness. Sasuke extended his fist to Naruto. "... I'll try to last as long as I can, and track down as many zombies before I turn into one. You should save as many lives as you can." Sasuke placed his fist over Naruto's heart.
Naruto reached out and copied the motion.
He grinned.
"Don't get all emotional now Sasuke, here... if you feel yourself turning into a zombie, put a bullet in your head for me." Naruto pulled a pistol out of his waistband and passed it to his friend. The silence between them became far more tense, as the reality of it really sank in.
The grin on Naruto's face fell.
"Naruto."
"Sasuke... in the last 2 hours, I have killed all our friends... I killed my own fiance Sasuke... I put Hinata down while she was still human... please... Sasuke..." Naruto had a look in his eyes that hurt Sasuke to see. Naruto had been forced to put down their friends, the ones they went to high school with, and then entered college with. He had been put in the position where he felled his own fiance so that she wouldn't turn into a monster. "... I killed them... I can't kill you... you're my best friend... I can't kill you too."
There was a pleading tone.
Sasuke took the gun, nodded his head, and started to run in the direction he saw a zombie in. Naruto nodded his head as well, and he started to run in the direction of the nearest high school he had seen a zombie running towards.
-10 Minutes Later-
"Shit..."
*BANG*
"Shit..." Naruto repeated when he heard the sound of gunfire in the distance. He had made it to a high school in the area, and the gates of the high school were closed tightly. He saw a zombie was right outside the school gates though, and there was blood on the ground in the school itself. Naruto snapped the neck of the zombie outside the gates, and he looked to see zombies were already starting to swarm the school itself.
Naruto grabbed the bars of the used them to assist him as he jumped clear over the gate, and landed in the grounds of the school.
5 school busses.
There were five of them lined up, and Naruto knew what he needed to do. Naruto took his school bag off of his shoulder, and sat it on the ground.
"Kon."
"Kurama, you go and round up all the zombies you can find, gather them out here." Naruto stated to the fox that popped out of his school bag. It was his pet fox, Kurama, a mature red fox he had trained for years from a young age. It knew exactly what he wanted it to do, and started to run off towards the open doors of the school.
Naruto nodded to himself with a grin as he ran towards the school busses.
Naruto... in his younger years... had learned a very specific skillset thanks to the simple fact that he had been looking to become the yakuza boss of Japan, and in that skillset was a very important thing to note. Naruto opened the door of the bus by force, and got into the driver's seat.
It took him 2 minutes.
In 2 minutes Naruto hotwired the school bus, and with a grin he started to honk the horn and drove the bus. He saw his fox come out of the school building with about 30 zombies chasing after him, and Naruto opened the door to the bus from the inside. He continued to honk the horn on the bus loudly, and his fox jumped into the bus. Naruto then proceeded to do the best thing that he could think of to do in this situation.
Donuts.
Naruto used the school bus and did donuts in the front of the school, with zombies from all over the school grounds coming to the sound of the honking horn of their own will to eat. They didn't even try and dodge him as he smacked the and ran over them with the large hulking piece of metal and death he was driving.
"WOOOOOOOOOO!" Naruto's sadness from earlier, gone for the moment.
He was killing zombies in one of the most badass ways possible, and if there was any moment to enjoy himself, it was by becoming a zombie killing machine. It didn't matter that he had killed his fiance, or that his best friend must have shot himself in the head by now. It didn't matter that all his friends were dead, and he didn't have family. It didn't even matter that Naruto could see fires starting across the city in the distance, and everything was going to shit.
He had to enjoy the small things.
Naruto tossed his pet out the window and it landed perfectly, before he went towards the school so that he could gather more zombies to follow him to their double deaths.
3 hours.
Naruto did donuts in the school front yard for 3 straight hours, and during that time it sort of became boring. Doing the same thing for 3 hours could get boring, and the stacks of zombie corpses that were piling up were starting to become a problem. Naruto had most likely run over and killed several hundred zombies at this point, and he very much doubted that there were any survivors in the school at this stage in the game.
"Yip."
"No more zombies... is that what you're saying?" Naruto stopped the bus completely and closed the bus door when his pet jumped in and yipped at him. Naruto couldn't tell what his fox was trying to tell him while driving the bus. Kurama yipped at him several more times, and Naruto nodded his head. "... are you yipping because you couldn't find anymore zombies, or because you found survivors?" Naruto asked the fox.
Naruto pulled up towards the front gate of the school, and he winced when he pulled the bus up and scrapped it against the walls and gate of the school itself. He blocked off any potential small zombies from going through the bars of the gate, and getting into the school grounds. The sounds of metal scrapping against metal and brick were loud, and gathered a lot of attention.
Also, there were several hundred zombies outside of the school grounds trying to get in.
Best to not leave anything up to chance.
"Now speaking... attention... attention... will all survivors please make yourself known by coming out to the front gates. Attention, this is Uzumaki Naruto, and I believe I've killed all the zombies on the school grounds. I have fortified the front gates, so no more zombies will come onto the school grounds." Naruto stated over the loud speaker of the bus.
Now it was time to play the waiting game.
5 minutes before the first group of students, and a teacher, came forward out of the front gates of the school. The numbers of the first group were about 7 people, which was a very small number of people to a group.
At the 15 minute point, a group of 6 came out, with another single adult mixed in with the students, the way she was dressed would suggest that was the school nurse.
It was at the 21 minute point that the final group of survivors came out, the smallest group of only 5 students, with no adults in the mix at all. Naruto jumped out of the bus window and Kurama jumped out of the window onto his shoulder.
'Only 18 survivors... just 18 people at the school for several hundred people survived... and it has only been about 7 hours since this outbreak even started.' Naruto frowned as he started to walk towards the groups as they converged upon each other. Naruto sucked in a deep breath, before he walked right up to them all.
Somebody opened their mouth to speak.
Nope.
"Okay, you 7 will go to the school cafeteria and food storage, and take a complete inventory of everything that is there. You, the teacher, I want you to be on the look out for any zombies and come alert me right away if you find one." Naruto demanded, and he set the tone for what needed to be done instantly.
Somebody else opened their mouth.
Nope.
"You 5, go around the school's walls and make sure there isn't any holes the zombies can crawl through. You 6... and you... if you can find me gasoline, alchohol, and matches in the school that would be appreciated. Chop chop, you only have 2 hours until the sun sets." Naruto clapped his hands together. He didn't let anyone talk over him at all, he set the tone with himself as the one taking the lead right away.
"What gives you the right to just go around barking orders like that?"
"I'm the guy who blocked off the gate, and killed most of the zombies in the school. I promised somebody to save lives, so I'm going to save lives. That is why..." Naruto stopped and actually took a look at the 18 survivors who were staring at him. There was a deep tension in the air, and he could understand why. They didn't know him, and he just came and started to make demands of them.
He would be suspicious too.
"What is why?"
"That is why... I know a lot of you are worried about your families, but the entire city is crawling with death... you might put your own life at risk. Finding your families won't help you, if you don't have a safe place for them to come back to." Naruto knew that many of them must want to check on their families. He could understand the feeling, despite not having a family of his own. "... if your families are alive, and you make the school a safe place... you can bring them here. We need to secure food, weapons, warmth, water, and a safe place to sleep." Naruto reasoned with the group.
The tension in the air did start to ease up.
"The sooner I check on my parents the better."
"Yeah."
"Okay, how about this. If any of you know a place where we can secure some weapons, I'll go with you to go get the weapons, and we can come back. Then, tomorrow we can start a search party for your families?" Naruto asked as he looked around. "I won't even use a weapon if you guys don't feel... oh... wait..." Naruto stopped himself.
He took off his shirt.
"Holy..."
Naruto was strapped with 2 guns on his chest, and a 3rd gun in his waistband. Naruto unstrapped his weapons from his chest, and he looked around at the survivors. One of them, a short, fat boy, was holding a makeshift nailgun. Naruto tossed 2 of his guns towards him.
"You got 20 left in those, and this one only has 6... and..." Naruto looked at who he wanted to toss his revolver to. The boy with the makeshift gun seemed like the type to know how to use them. Naruto saw the girl with a wooden sword in the same group as him. "... you... you 2 can use my guns. So does anyone know where we can get more weapons?" Naruto didn't need the weapons, he just had them because of his past experiences with assassins coming for his life.
The school nurse came forward.
"A friend of mine who left me the key to her house has a bunch of guns, and she has this BIG car... we can load the stuff at her house up in the car and bring it back here." She stated, coming forward.
Her tits were huge.
'106... no... even bigger... 108cm... dang those are... most the girls here are actually pretty well endowed.' Naruto couldn't stop himself from noticing. He looked her in the eyes though, and nodded his head. "Okay... so... me and the nurse will go and get the weapons, get the supplies, and come back."
"Why are you so strapped!?"
"Because I've had assassins coming after my life since I was younger than all of you, so I'm used to life threatening situations. I'll get introduced to all of you when I get back... and..." Naruto saw the snake-like look in the other adult's eyes. "... and if you act up and do anything to cause these people to die, then when I get back, I'll rip your jaw off." Naruto threatened the man with his eyes narrowing.
The tension was back... with almost everyone.
"I like him."
"All the dead bodies need to be taken care of, and I suggest burning them. This school has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool right... well... come on nurse, lets go while we have daylight." Naruto allowed his fox to jump off of his shoulders. "Kurama here is going to go around and get all of your scents... if you have any living family members in the city, he can track them down. So let him memorize your scents." Naruto told everyone.
"Cute fox."
"I've trained him his entire life to detect threats, distract enemies, and track down missing people. Once he has your scent, he can track down anyone closely related to you... if you hurt my pet fox, I hurt you." Naruto stated with a complete deadpan.
"You never told me... what gives you the right to order us around?"
Naruto looked at the pink haired girl that repeated her earlier question.
"What gives me the right... you all give me the right. You can listen to what I say or not, it's up to you. I'm going to try and save you... but you have the right to reject my help. Kurama, go around the school and try to find more zombies." Naruto gave his fox an order.
There was actual surprise when the fox yipped, before he started to go and follow orders.
"Why-"
"We're leaving now, and you guys can question me when I get back." Naruto hooked his arms under the school nurse, and he kicked off on the wall around the school, before he jumped on top of it. "... ALSO... you should listen to me because there are currently hundreds of zombies just outside these gates." Naruto looked at the zombies.
The nurse was stunned.
"Everyone... please listen to what he says... there are a lot of them out here."
The nurse saying it seemed to resonate with them much more than Naruto saying it.
Whatever worked.
