"Hey guys," Xander called out to the newly graduated AV Club.

"General!" half of them called out.

"Xander," Jonathan said excitedly. "This place is awesome!"

"I know," Xander agreed, "I got it cheap because it had squatters I had to clean out."

"Are you sure you got them all?" Andrew asked nervously, eyes darting around the room.

"They were in the fallout shelter below this place," Xander replied, "and I cleaned it out during the day before adding some wards, it's clean."

"You know how to make wards?" Jonathan asked intently.

"Enochian sanctuary rune," Xander explained, "it works on private residences. I've got some Norse runes from a friend that designed a set for the office she works at, but I haven't installed those yet."

"Any way I can get a copy?" he asked.

"Sure, I'll get together with you later," Xander agreed, seeing no problem with sharing defensive wards. "Follow me."

"Oh wow," the two chorused when they were led into the projection room with its floor to ceiling shelves of movies.

"I've already found the first two movies for the night," Xander said, gesturing to the table next to the projector, "Star Wars and The Princess Bride."

"Eeek!" Andrew squealed. "It's an original copy!"

"That's a big deal?" Dawn asked.

"Breathe Andrew," Jonathan told the over excited blonde. "George Lucas 'recalled' all the originals he could get his hands on. I'm surprised he didn't get this one as well."

"The former owners couldn't return it as they… took a dirt nap," Xander said.

"It can't be legally shown, at least not in a commercial manner," Jonathan said, making Andrew gasp and clutch the film reels to his chest.

"Another reason this place was so cheap was because it's not zoned for business, it's residential," Xander said, "and since it's my house and I'm not charging anything we can watch it all we want."

"Yes!" Andrew cheered, quickly loading the reels onto the projector.

"Should we load up something for the second screen?" Jonathan asked.

"Only if you want to," Xander replied, "I wasn't planning on using it."

"Single screen it is," Jonathan said. "Mind if we use the popcorn and soda fountain?"

"Is it stocked?" Xander asked. "I hadn't checked."

"It's stocked," Jonathan said. "The stuff is a couple of years old, but it's still good."

"You checked?" Andrew asked.

"Habit," Jonathan said with a shrug.

"In that case we'll be in my car, start the movie whenever you feel like," Xander said. "If you see someone in a truck removing bodies from the basement ignore it, all the former owners were here when I arrived. He should also be moving my stuff in."

"How exciting is your life?" Andrew asked in awe.

"I got to see the wingnut museum in Berkeley just a couple of days ago," Xander said proudly, "also the Oakland zoo. Both were awesome."

"He went to the museum with the actual real life Mulder and Scully and met Cheetah in the Oakland Zoo," Dawn added with a grin.

"The one Wonder Woman fights?" Jonathan asked.

"Wonder Woman fights Cheetah? Neither one mentioned that to me," Xander said with a frown as he followed Dawn out of the room.

"Neither one?" Jonathan asked after they left.

"He is awesome," Andrew said in wonder.

"We already knew that," Jonathan said, checking to make sure Andrew had loaded the projector correctly. "Should we play the coming attractions reel that came with this or skip it?"

"Play it," Andrew said, "old previews are cool and help set the mood. Buffy and Willow never acted like he was awesome."

"They're his best friends," Jonathan pointed out, "if you were awesome I wouldn't act like it because we're friends and it would be weird."

"Am I awesome?" Andrew asked.

"Surprisingly enough you are every now and again," Jonathan said.

"Cool," Andrew said happily. "Playing coming attractions now."

"Nick Nolte looks young," Dawn said. "What was the whole bottle thing they were looking for anyway?"

"No idea," Xander said, "I don't remember watching The Deep."

"Exorcist Two was a musical?" Dawn asked in disbelief.

"Not that I remember," Xander said with a frown. "I think they just wanted to play music to hype up the trailer."

"Should have picked a better band then," Dawn said, "it's not even exciting enough to give me an excuse to jump in your lap."

"To be fair, movies have gotten a lot better at scaring people in the forty some odd years since it came out."

"Yet Star Wars is still awesome," Dawn said.

"Yes it is," Xander agreed.

Dawn reached into the back seat and grabbed a blanket before climbing in his lap and covering them with it. "Hug," she demanded.

"I don't see how you can claim Star Wars is scary enough to jump in my lap," Xander teased as the opening credits began.

"It's not," Dawn said, "so I'm skipping excuses and just taking my favorite viewing seat."

"That works," Xander agreed, wrapping his arms around her and relaxing.

Cars continued to show up during the movie until the lot was half full, neither paid attention, just cheering along with the audience and repeating favorite lines along with the actors.

"Okay, movie's over, time to stretch our legs and pee," Xander said as the intermission ad played.

"It was more… real, watching it at a drive-in," Dawn said, tossing the blanket in the backseat and sliding off his lap.

"Drive-ins are awesome," Xander said with a smile as he stretched and then got out of the car.

"Han shot first," someone said smugly.

"It could have been edited," someone else argued in the group of teens heading for the bathrooms and snack bar.

"Really?"

"No, but I hate being wrong," she replied, causing part of the group to laugh.

"Is that a donation box?" Dawn asked, pointing to a box people were stuffing money in as a couple of teens served sodas and snacks to the crowd.

"Looks like it," Xander agreed, "but if they want to play food service employees for donations I'm fine with it."

"Remember to grab some popcorn on the way back to the car," Dawn said before heading to the women's bathrooms.

Xander quickly used the bathroom before going upstairs to check on Jonathan and Andrew, the arcade having a surprising number of people in it.

"Hey guys, great job," Xander said as he entered the projection booth. "I'm surprised so many people showed up."

"Word spread," Jonathan offered with a shrug. "We set up a donation box to cover the cost of sodas and snacks, maybe you can use the extra to fill the change machine for the arcade. That is if you are planning to do this again. Are you? Please say yes."

"I'm not, but you can if you want," Xander said. "I just came back because I needed a spell done to restore some memories the Mayor erased."

"Dude, I'd love to run this place," Jonathan said. "You really don't mind?"

Xander shrugged. "Just keep it clean and non-profit so the city doesn't get on us."

"We can hang out here?" Andrew asked. "When we're not running it I mean."

"Sure," he agreed.

"Good, I wanna get high scores on all the pinball machines," Andrew said with a smile.

"Just us or can we have everyone over?" Jonathan asked. "Cause we've got three DND campaigns we're in the middle of and this place beats the library hands down."

"The geek squad is cool with me," Xander assured him.

"Excellent," Andrew said. "This place fits us better than the Bronze."

"I know how it is," Xander said. "Anything I need to know about?"

"Ted dropped off your keys, said everything was taken care of," Jonathan said, holding up a key ring.

"That's one less worry," Xander said, taking the key ring and separating the duplicates onto their own ring. "Here, these are the keys to the place, lock up when you're not here."

"Thanks," Jonathan said with a wide smile.

"This is the best day ever," Andrew said, getting teary eyed.

"Oh, the screen that isn't showing anything," Jonathan said, "it has like, half a dozen cars. I'm thinking they figured here was a lot safer than lookout point."

"Which it is," Andrew added.

"That's fine," Xander said.

"What should we play for the third movie?" Andrew asked. "Or should we stop at two?"

"Whatever you like," Xander said. "We're probably going to turn in after the second or we may watch it and it'll be a nice surprise."

"Okay, I won't tell you what we picked in case you said yes then," Andrew said.

Xander wrote his number on a piece of paper. "Here, just in case you guys need me over the summer, because I plan on being back on the road tomorrow."

"Your road trip?" Andrew asked.

"My road trip," Xander agreed. "I may extend it past the summer by a month or two depending on how things go, cause I keep running into things and it really slows me down."

Jonathan and Andrew exchanged grins, sure he was off fighting villains.

"See you guys later," Xander said and left to grab some popcorn on the way to the car.

"Do you think he'll wear a costume?" Andrew asked.

"What?" Jonathan asked.

"We know he's going to be saving people, so since he'll be doing it openly will he wear a costume?" Andrew asked.

"No idea," Jonathan admitted. "Guess we'll just have to wait and see."

Dawn yawned, making Xander yawn in response.

"I think it's bedtime," Xander told her, "or couch time, one or the other."

"Will there be cuddling?" she asked, trying to sound suspicious.

"Of course," he agreed with a grin.

"You son of a bitch, I'm in," she said in her best gangster impression, making him burst out laughing.

"That was a good one," he said. "How long have you been holding back that gem?"

"Since the last time we watched Predator," she said, sliding off his lap so he could start the car.

"I'm so stealing that," he told her, slowly pulling around to the back of the building and parking next to a gray van.

"I could have used the 'take me to bed or lose me forever' line but take me to couch just doesn't sound the same."

"Not the same feel at all," he agreed, retrieving his shield and war hammer from the back seat.

"Expecting trouble?" she asked, a small surge of adrenaline waking her up.

"No, but I'm not going to leave my weapons out where someone can walk off with them," he replied.

"Point," she agreed, making a bundle of the blanket to bring with them.

"And here we are," Xander said, unlocking the door.

"And now you have to kiss me," Dawn said.

"What?"

"End of date, I get a kiss," Dawn said. "Three seconds, no tongue," she added when he hesitated.

"Alright," Xander said with a grin and leaned down to press his lips against hers for a few seconds.

When they were done, Dawn smiled widely. "This has been a great date. If you want a second, be assured I'll say yes."

"Will do," he agreed, "now let's get some sleep."

Dawn followed him inside, waiting for him to close and lock the door behind him so he could go first, just in case. It was always best to be at least a little paranoid when you lived on the mouth of hell and she noted how he had his weapons ready even though they were pretty sure they were safe.

"Huh," he said as they entered the livingroom. "Ted really cleaned up in here. I'd ask how he got everything done so fast, but he's an android. I wonder where he put my stuff?"

"One of the bedrooms?" Dawn guessed.

"Yeah, we should check them anyway," Xander said.

It only took a few minutes to check all the rooms, finding that Ted had unpacked all of Xander's stuff in the largest bedroom, boxing up everything that had been in there from the previous owner in his boxes and stacked them in the storage room.

"He even put all my bathroom stuff in the bathroom," Xander said. "I did not pay him enough for all of this."

"So pay him more," Dawn said, sitting on the bed and removing her shoes and socks.

"I will," Xander decided. He froze when Dawn slid off her pants.

"Boxers and T-shirt," she ordered him, slipping her arms inside her shirt to remove her bra without taking off her shirt.

"Oh," he said. "We didn't bring your pajamas."

"Yep, but panties and T-shirts are comfortable and covering," Dawn said. "I'm not secure enough in my looks to show you more or I'd try and convince you we didn't need shirts either."

"You are pretty, growing into beautiful," he said firmly, before sitting down and kicking off his shoes, "anyone who says different is lying."

Dawn beamed. "My curves are on backorder, but delivery is supposed to be in the next couple of years and when they get here I am going to tempt you like there's no tomorrow!" she slid under the covers. "Strip and get to cuddling!"

Xander chuckled. "Let me get the lights."
