Hey everyone! I decided to do a couple different versions of my story "Fertility Festival," and this is one of them. Each version is changed ever so slightly to fit a diffferent pairing. The first one was Hakkaku and was based off of a prompt, this second version is Koga x Kagome. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy!

No One Pov:
Koga flushes in embarrassment as the Eastern wolf tribe looks at him and his soon to be mate, Ayame. There were a few reasons why he was mating her, but the most important one was that they both wanted the two separate tribes to have continued allyship. Though the wolves of the Eastern tribe didn't like this. They still adored Lady Kagome and really thought the two would end up together.
Since this was a true celebration of their future mating, elaborate crowns made from flower and other greenery were placed upon their noble heads. In the wolf culture, the crowns represented the status of the wolf wearing it. They were both royalty or nobles, and that played a huge factor in their future.
oOo
The celebration going on around them was turning out nicer than expected. It was, after all, the Fertility Festival, or the Festival of Life in other terms. With the future mating of Prince Koga and Princess Ayame, and Spring just beginning, the wolves decided now was the perfect time to celebrate.
A crash sounded from the entrance of the cave as the Inutachi came into view. The small group was quickly greeted by eager wolves. Inuyasha was the truly shocked one as he wasn't usually greeted with such kindness. It made his usual scowl rise into a toothy grin.
Kagome just smiled at her best friend's reaction. Seeing him accepted was refreshing in a lot of ways. Once her friends got settled in some seats by the roaring fire, Kagome decided to get something to drink. After that, she would then go and congratulate her friend on his future mating.
What the young priestess wasn't expecting, was to have something placed onto her head. She glanced at the wolf demon who had done it and was met with the nervous smile of Ginta.
"Oh! Hello Ginta! Why did you place a crown on my head? Isn't it only meant for nobles such as Ayame and Koga? You do know that I'm not noble right?"
Ginta flushes and looks away from the Miko before looking back at her. He knew she wasn't noble but that didn't stop him from gifting her with the crown.
"I know you aren't noble, but you do deserve to wear the crown. You and I both know that it is a very important thing for wolf demon culture. And as I am Prince Koga's Beta, it is my job to bestow it upon the most deserving being here. Besides, soon enough you will be noble anyways."
There was a hidden promise in those words that went right over Kagome's head as the priestess sighed and drank her beverage. Ginta decided then, that he would leave before he was caught being around her too long.
"Anyway, I've got to work on some other duties, but it was nice to see you."

Koga finally got up the nerve to approach Kagome as the woman finished her drink. With his arms opened wide, he hugged Kagome tightly. "Kagome, I'm so happy you could make it to the festival. It wouldn't be the same if you weren't here."
The hug was reciprocated as Kagome responded to him. "It's great to see you too Koga. I'm so happy for you and Ayame. You two make the cutest mates and your cubs will be adorable." A tinge of sadness laced her words.
Both Kagome and Koga stood in silence for a few moments as the wolf demon hugged her just a little tighter. His instinct was telling him to comfort her, but they were surrounded by celebrating wolves.
"Kagome… you don't have to say anything you don't mean. No one is listening to us."
A quiet sigh left Kagome's lips as she shut her eyes and prayed to the kami that she wouldn't cry. "I know, but you are my friend, and I should support you in your time of happiness." Tears began to well up in her eyes.
On instinct, Koga nuzzled into the crook of Kagome's neck. It was one of the ways wolves comforted those closest to them. The small action went unnoticed by everyone except for Ayame. She just sighed and looked away from the two sadly. If her future mate wanted to act disloyal, then she would make him realize that she is the one he is mating. Ayame will not allow a common whore like Kagome, to take her Koga away.
"Koga, I need you over here now."
Ayame's voice was quiet but stern. She was obviously not happy, and Koga knew that. The wolf prince frowned and reluctantly let go of Kagome as he made his way over to the princess. His tail hanging low in his saddened and worried state.
"Yes, mate to be?" Koga asked with reluctant duty as he thought of the helpless look that arose in Kagome's eyes when he had let go of her.
"I think it is time we were to mate in front of the tribe. This is a Fertility Festival after all, and we will need to create our heirs."
Koga froze at Ayame's words as wolves took notice of what his betrothed said. Panic ran through his mind as the princess grabbed him and pulled him into a kiss. In his panic, Koga's wolf came to the surface of his mind and spoke in deep and rough growls.
'Koga, you cannot mate her. We will not be with a mate that we do not love. Ayame only wants to mate because she is jealous of the love you hold for another, and it shows. You are a prince and the soon to be Lord of the East. Do not let this demoness get the better of you and your instincts. We both know what you want to do, but will you do it?'
'I don't want to mate her, but I have a duty to my lands and my late parents. The love I feel for another will go away in time and I will learn to love princess Ayame. Our packs will combine after this and there will be no more wars between us.'
A distressed cry rang throughout Koga's head as one of the visiting Northern wolves yanked on the still crying Kagome's arm. Alarm bells began ringing and as soon as he could, Koga pulled away from Ayame to look for his priestess. Unfortunately, the wolf princess would not take rejection from him and pulled the prince back to her.
"Ignore the other sounds and voices Koga. You are my mate and I need you to satisfy me. The wench can handle what's being given to her."
Koga Pov:
Anger was the only emotion I felt as Ayame tried to convince me to ignore the woman I know is my true mate.
"I do not care if you need any satisfaction as I know you are a whore to the men of your tribe Ayame. If you want to keep your life, you will also refrain from insulting my true mate. Also, I'm calling off this betrothal. I cannot marry a bitchy whore who only thinks of herself and her tribe. My true mate and tribe will always come before a selfish demoness like you."
Ayame growled at Koga and was quick to raise her hands in a motion to claw at the wolf prince but was held back by two very strong grips on both of her arms.
"Princess Ayame, it seems that you have forgotten that you are in Eastern wolf territory. You are to never raise any sort of claw, paw, or hand to our Alpha. He has every right to discipline or insult you in whatever way he pleases." Ginta's angered voice came from her right as Hakkaku was quick to follow up with his own statement from the left.
"Yes. Alpha Koga is the leader of this tribe, and we, as his Betas, will let no harm come to him. Our Alpha is defending the one he truly wants to marry. You better watch yourself."
I smiled at their words and nodded the both of my Betas before I turned around and went to find my precious Kagome.

Alright, this is done and I hope you guys enjoyed this version just as much as my other one. I think ym writing style is a bit different than it used to be, so there are a few differences, but I hope that wasn't a bad one. I will continue to do more versions of this original sotry idea, because I feel as though there is enough room to write it at least a couple more times.
The next pairing will actually be Ginta x Kagome since that was where the first version was originally supposed to go. Bye for now!
