Chapter 1: Reborn as a WHAT!?

As Sasuke prepared his strongest attack, Indra's Arrow, Naruto had formed a Rasenshuriken in one hand and Tailed Beast Ball Rasenshuriken in the other.

The two attacks clashed with one another; the full power of each shinobi channelled into their techniques. A sphere of energy was formed by the two attacks, the many different energies running rampant within. This violent mixture of chakra from Naruto, Sasuke and all the Tailed Beast, in addition to the Natural Energy collected by Naruto and the latent chakras of Asura and Indra, would have normally simply exploded in a massive conflagration.

However, for some unknown reason, perhaps the dimensional instability caused by Kaguya's continuous creation of pocket dimensions, the earlier summoning of the Shinigami by Orochimaru, the God Tree's formation or even the interference of an outsider god, the attacks' clash had far greater consequences. The sphere of energy exploded spectacularly, erasing a good chunk of the area from existence.

Day 1

Waking up in a bit of a daze, Naruto tried to open his eyes, but didn't have any real success. What he managed was a small sliver of an opening and even that was very blurry. He tried moving his hand to rub his eyes, but nothing really happened.

'Ugh, what did I do to get this exhausted? I can't open my eyes and my arms won't move.' Getting nowhere with his attempts, Naruto just gave up and relaxed on the hard surface he was lying upon. 'I must have gotten so drunk, because I don't remember much of what happened and this hangover is so bad that I can't even feel my chakra.'

'Oi Kurama, why haven't you gotten rid of this hangover?' Naruto tried asking his partner, but to no avail. 'He must be sleeping, the lazy bastard. I guess I'll just lay here and try to remember what happened.'

Taking a few minutes to try and remember what happened, he managed to recall their victory against Kaguya and their success in sealing her away. Realizing he was probably in the hospital or maybe his apartment, since spending three days and nights constantly fighting will do that to a guy, he relaxed and began to daydream.

This dream of his consisted of being awarded the Hokage hat by Tsunade for saving the world and bringing peace to it, having an orgy with some of the women he has met over the years, and becoming the Holy Ramen Emperor and ruling with a noodle fist, when he began to hear some movement nearby.

Broken out of his fantasy, Naruto put in more effort into opening his eyes, if only to signal that he was awake to whoever was there, he was successful in opening them further than before, but the blurriness remained. Taking a few moments to blink, and that was a surprisingly difficult task, he was shocked that instead of the white ceiling of a hospital room or the familiar ceiling of his apartment but rather the rocky ceiling of a cave.

While that is astonishing on its own, what really stunned Naruto was the face staring at him. The face had a massive, pointed nose, small pointy ears, small eyes, a long white goatee, and a bald head and was heavily wrinkled. It was also green in colour. Whatever held this face was most certainly not human, and this creature was currently holding a wriggling larva in its hand.

Rather distressingly for Naruto, the creature was bringing the larva closer and closer to his mouth. His body betraying him as his stomach gurgled in hunger and his mouth opening against his will and eating up the grub offered.

"Hmm, let's see ..." the creature began muttering to itself, as it brought another larva to feed Naruto, "I'll call this one Goburuto."

Satisfied with its task, the creature moved out of Naruto's limited sight, who began feeling drowsy and his eyes began drooping.

'The hell was that thing! Calm down Naruto, all of this is probably a prank by Kakashi-sensei. He probably put a Genjutsu on me when he realized I was waking up. Or maybe I'm just imagining things from how tired I feel.' With those thoughts soothing him to sleep, Naruto missed the translucent blue screen appearing in front of him just as he closed his eyes.

[Welcome, Gamer]

Day 2

Waking up the next morning, Naruto felt much less exhausted, and in a shocking move for anyone that knew him, Naruto took a few moments to think about what he saw the day before.

'It was a bad dream, nothing more. I'll open my eyes and see my apartment probably in a mess from the party I was in. All of this was a weird dream I had when I got really drunk.' Naruto managed to reassure himself, but when he opened his eyes, he saw the cave ceiling from the day before. 'THE HELL?!'

Taking a few calming breaths, Naruto began to think about what he saw the day before and concluded that he was in some kind of Genjutsu. Trying to mould his chakra to break out of it, he was extremely shocked and slightly afraid.

'What happened to my chakra? Why can't I feel it? Something is wrong, really wrong', were the thoughts that began running through his head. Opening his eyes again, trying to make sense of the situation, he was flummoxed at what appeared before him. After everything he had seen, it seemed impossible for anything to top the surprises he had recently experienced.

'Why the hell is there an RPG screen in front of my face?' was the only thing Naruto could think of. He's played a few videogames, not much but enough to recognize the keywords utilized. He lay there frozen for a few minutes, his mind trying to make sense of things.

Naturally, Naruto isn't one to just sit there and think things through, he needs to vent his frustrations, but try as he can, he couldn't shout or even speak. The only thing he managed to do was garble something intelligible and even then, he felt a great deal of soreness in his throat. Failing that task, he tried to move around, to get up or even just wave his arms and legs, but he barely felt like he was doing anything.

He tried raising his head to see what's going on with his body, but a few moments of trying showed him that it was an impossible task. Doing the next best thing, he just looked to the sides hoping to catch sight of anything that can clue him as to what's going on. What he saw did not make him any happier or even less confused.

All around him were baby versions of the creature he saw earlier. They were all green, with pointy ears and had rather large noses. Something clicked in Naruto's memories, greatly helped by the blue screen still in front of him. After all it reminded him of some of the RPGs he used to play, and some had monsters that looked eerily familiar to what he was seeing around him.

'Goblins! I'm surrounded by goblins, baby ones sure, but goblins still! Why? How?' where the main questions running through his head. Having travelled the world with his master and learned a great deal about it, he knew that goblins weren't real, but somehow there was a large group of baby ones surrounding him.

'Then there's that old one. Why was he feeding me? I mean I'm human and in all the games, goblins are hostile to humans.' Naruto pondered what was happening for a while but couldn't make sense of what was happening, and he was becoming more and more terrified. He knew they stopped Madara and his Eye of the Moon Plan and released everyone, but that's when it hit him.

'We never released everyone! Did I somehow get stuck in the Genjutsu, but that doesn't make sense. What's going on!?' He began shouting in his head, as his attempts at vocal expression only amounted to gurgling and small grunts. Reinvigorated by the thoughts running through his head, he began moving again and succeeded.

He wasn't aware that his mind was getting used to his new body, and it was only now he regained some control over his motor functions. Moving his arm, he got a glimpse of it, and he was surprised, an emotion he was getting used to more and more.

It was green and chubby, with fingers topped with small sharp nails, just like the arms of the goblin babies around him.

'WAAAAH! WHY IS MY ARM LIKE THAT? WHY ARE BOTH MY ARMS LIKE THAT?' Naruto screamed mentally and even managed to let out a small cry as he saw what his other arm looked like. 'WHAT IS GOING ON!?'

Panicking for a little while longer, Naruto managed to calm down. His training to master sage mode helped significantly in controlling his emotions.

'Ok, let's calm down. I can't just panic; I need to figure what's going on. Also, what's with this floating blue screen? What's that all about and can it go away!' Naruto had gotten tired of looking at the floating box and he attempted to swat it away. Surprisingly, when his hand went through the box, he managed to swipe it away.

'Woah! How did I do that? Do I just touch them to remove them, and why did another one just pop up?'

[Welcome Gamer]

'Gamer? What's that? Is it talking to me? I really need to figure out what's happening, because it's looking less and less like a Genjutsu. I've never heard of any that can do so many things, and I know that there aren't any Genjutsu that can make you not feel your chakra anymore.' Naruto was stumped, and as he swiped the floating small blue box away.

Suddenly one of the baby goblins manages to cry out, probably in hunger Naruto figures, since he's starting to feel hungry too. Not long after, the others began to cry out for food, and the elderly looking goblin from yesterday made a reappearance.

Naruto got a better look at the goblin, and everything about the green creature fit with the depictions he's seen in his videogames. From what Naruto could see, he figured the older goblin was male, although Naruto didn't know if goblins could even be female.

He was holding a basket, and from what Naruto could see it was filled with larvae. The elderly goblin seemed to be using a cane to help him move around, with the basket in his other hand. He started going around feeding the babies and the thoughts that began running through Naruto's head were that he didn't want to eat any more bugs.

'I got enough bugs from Ma; I don't want to eat any more of them.' Naruto tries to struggle, but unfortunately for him his mouth seems to just eat the grubs the old goblin feeds him.

'Ugh, why am I tasting them now. I couldn't taste them yesterday, so why now?' Naruto made a face at the grub he was being fed, and the older goblin thought he was still hungry and fed him another larva.

'Ok, I'm getting tired, and I can't move. Hopefully, tomorrow I can move more or something. Just laying here isn't helpful. Ugh, I'll worry about this crap tomorrow.' With those thoughts, Naruto quickly found himself falling asleep.

Day 3

[You have slept on the ground]
50% of your HP and MP have been restored and all Status Effects have been removed

'Does this show up every morning? It's going to become really annoying' Naruto grumbled in his head as he swiped the screen away. He noticed that moving his arm was much easier than before and after a bit of effort managed to sit up. Looking at his body, he was surprised that he was much bigger than before.

His formerly chubby arms were much longer and thinner and looking around he saw that all the other baby goblins were now grown up. He also saw that while most only had a small cloth covering their lower extremities, while the rest also had a longer blanket covering their chest as well.

'Huh, I guess goblins can be female. Wait, how did they all grow up from babies to this in a day?' Naruto scratched his bald head, something that really freaked him out and considering everything he had recently experienced, that was saying something.

He looked around and noticed that the area he was in was quite dark, but he could somehow see in a small radius rather clearly. He noted that it was probably a small cavern, but he couldn't really tell how big it was and where any exits were. He did notice movement in the corner of his vision, and it turned out to be the old goblin.

Looking between the older goblin and the rest on the ground, he could tell that the younger ones were going to grow a little bit more, which meant to his distaste he was also going to grow a bit more. This thought upset him because it reminded him that he was now a goblin for some reason.

"Ho? You're already up, that's surprising" the old goblin said as he came closer, feeding the goblins that he came across. Seeing the confused look on Naruto, the old goblin continued, "Your siblings won't wake up for a while, but I guess you're a bit of a fast grower."

"What ... Who are you?"

"Ah, well you can call me Gobujii, and I named you Goburuto, if you're wondering." The old goblin continued moving from goblin to goblin feeding them. He didn't notice how his words froze Naruto in his place.

'Siblings? What? How? I never had any. What's going on? Also, Goburuto? Why?' Naruto grumbled at how his name was messed up, but he figured it was close enough. Suddenly his stomach began gurgling, and he coughed a few times to try and hide it.

"If you go through that tunnel, you can find some food. You'll mostly find moss and grubs, but there might be some mushrooms hidden away in there. There isn't any meat, you'll have to hunt for that when you're a bit older." Gobujii chuckled as he gave Naruto some directions by pointing towards one part of the cavern.

Having the option to feed his growling stomach and be somewhere private where he can try and start processing what's going on, Naruto nodded and began moving in the direction he was pointed towards. While making his way through the sleeping goblins, as to not wake them, he began noticing something that might not have been there before, or he just didn't notice it. Above everyone's heads in blue, were a name and some numbers.

Gobujii Lvl. 100

GobukichiLvl. 1

GobumiLvl. 1

The rest of the goblins sleeping followed a similar pattern in naming and all were at the same level. Naruto counted around 30 or so goblins sleeping, with a majority being males

Looking around, Naruto noticed that he was slowly seeing more and more of the cavern. Not seeing any torches or lanterns made him wonder how he was able to see anything in the dark. His train of thought was derailed when he saw a blue screen pop up in front of him as he entered the tunnel.

[Quest Alert!]
[Back to the Basics]
You have gained the [Gamer] Ability and have no clue as to what is happening. You seem to be in need of help, specifically in need of a tutorial to guide you through the various features of your Ability and help you understand them and get accustomed to them.
Main Objective: Finish the Tutorial
Rewards: XP, Random Skill Book
Failure: Ignorance, Constant Reminders to Finish the Tutorial
[Accept / Decline]

'This is a quest, just like in some of my games. Why am I seeing this, is it related to the Gamer thing I saw before? It says tutorial, so that means I might get information about all this.' This stopped Naruto for a few seconds as he stared and read the screen.

Having made his choice, he carefully pressed on the [Accept] button on the screen. To his surprise it actually caused the screen to disappear and be replaced by another one.

[Intro]
You died kiddo! During your fight with Sasuke Uchiha, the resulting energies from your clash caused an unstable sphere of destructive power to form ultimately exploding and annihilating your physical bodies. On a side note, the resulting chakra shockwave managed to cancel the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

'I died!? What?' Naruto was so shocked by what he read that he almost fell to the ground as his knees felt weak. What he just read removed the fog he hadn't even noticed clouding his mind, the memories of what happened after the fight with Kaguya.

'That bastard! His stupid plan and idiotic idea to take on the world's hatred. The hell's wrong with him, I mean couldn't he see that he can't do everything alone? Couldn't he accept the past that shaped us, it's not we can change it. Argh!' Angered by his former teammate's idiocy and stupidity, Naruto punched the wall near him. He regretted it immediately, as his hand hurt and began to throb in pain.

"Ouch", he cursed as he shook his hand to try and get rid of the pain. Shaking his head and deciding to kick Sasuke in the nuts if he sees him again, Naruto continued towards the pantry. His anger subdued, he decided to vent of some steam later, when he's not angry. Naruto continued going towards the pantry, swiping the screen away and reading the one that popped up after it.

You may have noticed that you are currently a goblin, one of the weakest monster species. It may not seem like it, but you have been granted the chance to experience life as you please.

You have been granted the Gamer ability in your new life as a result for all the brave and heroic deeds you have accomplished in your previous life.

The Gamer ability turns you into a video game character, and this includes the ability to view and alter your stats, learning skills via skill books, creating any skill by repeating certain actions, etc.

Your life is now in your hands to do with it as you please.

'Ugh, seriously? How is being a goblin a good thing? You're literally telling me I'm one of the weakest species, and don't human hunt goblins. Aren't goblins trash mobs easily killed by adventurers?' Having reached the pantry cavern, Naruto began looking around for what's around.

The pantry had a couple of crates spread around and looking into a few he saw most had moss or algae. He saw a rather peculiar looking thing, a trough like object made from stone. Inside it were many leaves, some still stuck to their branches, and around them were a bunch of larvae.

Making a face at the bugs, he looked around a bit more and found a small crate with some mushrooms inside. Grabbing a few, he began to munch on them as he continued complaining about what happened.

"What am I going to do? I didn't become the Hokage, I didn't ever get married or have kids, hell we didn't release everyone from the Infinite Tsukuyomi. AGH!" Naruto exclaimed, slumping down. He stayed like that for a minute or two, in a foul mood, before he realized he was starting to shout. Looking around, he sighed in relief upon seeing nobody around.

"Wait a second, I think that screen mentioned that the Infinite Tsukuyomi was dispelled by our attacks." Naruto muttered to himself, taking a few moments to remember what he read. Confirming that the screen did state that, he felt a great deal of relief wash over him.

Taking a few deep breaths, he decided to put off the rest of his rant till he can be somewhere more private. Grabbing another mushroom and some moss, if only to mix it up a bit, he continued the [Tutorial].

[Status Screen]
This is the Status Screen; it can be accessed by saying the word Status aloud or even just thinking it. You can view your information here.

Name: Goburuto
Title 1: Grandmaster of Pranks
Race: GoblinAge: 3 Days
Level: 1

TITLE
A Title is something that you can gain from certain actions, certain individuals or even by achieving great feats (i.e., if you kill many zombies, you can gain the title [Novice Zombie Slayer]). A Title will provide you with minor to large bonuses, but they are only in effect once they are equipped. Currently you may only equip one title, but at level 15 you can equip a second one, at level 45 a third one and at level 90 a fourth one.

As a result of being the most notorious prankster to have come out of Konoha, you have gained the title [Grandmaster of Pranks].

[Grandmaster of Pranks: Having reached the highest ranks of pranksters, you have been acknowledged as a Grandmaster of Pranks.
Bonus XP to [Trapping]
Bonus Success Chance to [Trapping]
Bonus Effectiveness to [Trapping] and [Detection]

LEVEL
Levels generally indicate an individual's strength, but it's not the most reliable method. A person can possess skills that can bridge the difference in power, acting as a powerful equalizer. Various consumables and equipment can also enhance a person's abilities. Overall, levels can be useful in determining how strong others are but beware of other factors.

You possess an XP bar that gives you a general idea of how much more XP is needed to level up. This levelling system is not unique to the Gamer, as it is used by the rest of the world you are currently in.

HP, MP
Rather than numerical representations of your HP and MP, you simply have bars representing them.

HP refers to Health Points or Hit points, and it represents how much damage you can take before dying. In special circumstances, such as a spar, you HP Bar reaching zero will only cause you to fall unconscious.

MP refers to Mana Points, and it represents how much Mana you have available for use. Reaching zero MP will generally not have any adverse effects, other than feeling more tired or exhausted. However, if something is draining your MP and it reaches zero, then it will start draining your HP; this is not something that you can purposefully do to perform skills you don't have the mana for.

HP Regeneration and MP Regeneration are self-explanatory, but in short, they represent how fast your HP and MP bars fill back up.

STATS
In this version of the Gamer System, stats are not represented, and the user has to rely on their own methods of measuring them.

'What's mana? It's in the same place as chakra is in some of the games. So do I use it to perform jutsus?' Naruto wondered about this new term. He shrugged and figured he'd learn more about it later.

PERKS, STATUS EFFECTS
Status Effects are temporary or permanent side-effects gained from a variety of sources that can prove to be beneficial or detrimental to the recipient. Status Effects can be dispelled through various consumables, skills or rituals, but for The Gamer the most effective way to remove most Status Effects is sleep.

Perks are bonus power-ups that the player can obtain from many different sources that grant them various benefits, but they may come with some downsides. Perks are for the most part permanent, but they may be removed or altered due to Special Actions.

As a goblin you have gained the racial Perk [Goblin].

As a result of your previous life, you have gained the Perks [Uzumaki Blood, [Ashura's Inheritance] and [Benten's Blessing].

[Goblin: This is a racial perk all Goblins possess, and it will change upon ?. Goblins are one of the weakest species of monsters, but they do possess some strengths, such as their ability to impregnate women of all species without failure, even overcoming magical and chemical barriers to do so. They're also pretty good with makeshift weapons.
Bonus Dexterity and Vitality
Bonus HP/Day Survived
[Monstrous Virility, [Cunning, [Night Vision, [Goblin Language] Skills
Bonus Effectiveness with Makeshift Weapons

[Uzumaki Blood: Cousins to the Senju, the Uzumaki are descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. They inherited their enhanced vitality and life-force, and potent physical energy. The Uzumaki did have their own gifts, such as massive chakra pools, talent towards Fuinjutsu and stunning red hair. Somehow, your Uzumaki Blood remained with you even after death.
Bonus Vitality and Intelligence
Bonus XP to [Fuinjutsu]
Increased Success Chance when dismantling seals, creating new ones and analysing unknown seals

Bonus HP and MP
Bonus HP and MP Regeneration

[Benten's Blessing: Having suffered tremendously as a child, suffered immense loneliness and isolation, it is baffling how your spirit burns bright as the sun. This defining trait of yours is what drew in Benten, Goddess of Luck, and what made her bless you with incredible luck in hopes of balancing the scales. (Your adorable whisker marks definitely helped! ~ Benten)
Massive Bonus to Luck
[Lucky Bastard, [Devil's Luck, [Scrooge McLuck] Skills

'What the hell? What's with that message?' That last line threw him off, causing him to blush quite a bit. It took a couple of minutes for his blush to die off, and during that time Naruto finished another handful of moss.

What surprised him is that he wasn't getting full, especially when he had already eaten quite a bit of moss and mushrooms. As he wondered about that, a screen popped up in front of the existing screen, and it informed him that goblins are omnivorous, but meat is much more filling than vegetables and fruits to them.

"Ugh, I really don't like bugs that much." Slapping his cheeks lightly, Naruto grumbled slightly in resignation. "I'm a shinobi, I can handle eating a couple bugs. It's nowhere near as gross as being swallowed by a giant snake."

Grabbing a wriggling larva, he closed his nose with the other hand and ate it. Surprisingly it didn't taste terrible, but he promised that he'll find a way to eat actual meat soon. Naruto was quite thankful that Jiraiya taught him the tricks for reading texts quickly, it's really helpful in finishing the [Tutorial].

'That explains how I can see in the dark. Also, now that I think about it, Gobujii was speaking a different language. I could understand him, but it was completely different from anything spoken in the Elemental Nations.' Naruto pondered as he ate another grub. 'The luck skills seem to be out of place, but they are useful.'

"I don't get why I have this [Absorption] skill, but most of them seem pretty useful. I mean why would this evil sounding god give me a gift? Anyway, how many more screens are there, I probably should get out of here soon." Naruto muttered to himself as he took a handful of grubs and got up, having heard footsteps making their way into the pantry.

Making it seem like he just got here and was grabbing a snack, Naruto made it past the arguing duo, without any issues. He continued with the [Tutorial] while snacking on the grubs held in his hand. Figuring that constantly swiping at the air isn't the best impression, he remembered that he could call up the screens mentally, so he figured he might be able to remove them the same way.

[Inventory Screen]
This is the Inventory Screen; it can be accessed by saying the word Inventory aloud or even just thinking it. You can access your Inventory here.

The [Inventory] is a unique ability to The Gamer, allowing them to store and retrieve items they obtain. The [Inventory] is composed of many boxes, each capable of holding 999 items of the same kind. There are infinite boxes, you only need to scroll down to see more of them. Items such as Food, Drinks and Potions that are affected by the passage of time are safe from it when placed inside the [Inventory]. The [Inventory] cannot hold living beings or objects such as campfires.

An additional screen connected to the [Inventory, is the [Equipment] screen which shows the user the items they have currently equipped. They can change equipment by dragging items from the [Inventory] over to the appropriate slot in the [Equipment] screen.

Looking at the [Inventory] that opened alongside the [Tutorial] screen, he saw the boxes which could hold items, and he also saw his body on the [Equipment] screen. He looked like all the other goblin, which upset him slightly since he hoped he would at least have kept his whisker marks.

The map provides a basic map that fills out as you explore unknown areas. For underground places, such as caves, they are mapped out as you explore them, and the same thing applies to houses and buildings. Your position, along with the direction your facing is shown on the map.

Several skills that can be learned can enhance the map's functionality, such as showing enemies, traps, cardinal directions and many more.

By acquiring maps or learning about places through others, those areas are filled out, although nowhere near as accurate as if you explored them. You can place waypoints on the map, zoom in and out and pan out to view different locations.

Closing the screen mentally, as he already reached the chamber he slept in. Naruto saw that Gobujii was almost done with feeding the semi-sleeping goblins. He did wonder about how they were eating while sleeping, but he figured it was something goblins could do and didn't want to give it any more thought.

Finding a nice spot to sleep in, Naruto laid down and continued with the [Tutorial] by closing the screen in front of him, and to his surprise he actually did finish the quest.

[Quest Completed!]
[Back to Basics]
You have gained the [Gamer] Ability and have no clue as to what is happening. You seem to be in need of help, specifically in need of a tutorial to guide you through the various features of your Ability and help you understand them and get accustomed to them.

Main Objective Completed

Rewards: XP, Random Skill Book

'YOSH! I did it! Why am I celebrating finishing a tutorial quest?' Naruto asked himself as he stopped his fist pump half-way. Putting his hand down, which incidentally caused the screen to disappear, he opened his [Status] and confirmed that his XP bar did fill up almost completely.

He also noticed several things appear in his vision, which shocked him a bit, and they were an HP Bar, MP Bar and a small Mini-Map in the corner of his vision. They didn't block anything, and he could even see through them. It made sense once he thought about it for a bit, since in most games there are these things on the HUD.

He started looking around for a book, but only saw sleeping goblins and a leaving Gobujii. Wondering for a few moments where the book could be, he smacked his head with his hand and opened his [Inventory]. Sitting right there in the first slot was a book, and pressing on it caused its info to pop up.

[Skill Book]
[Healing Hands] (Active): A basic magic spell that allows the user to heal damage through the healing aura generated by their hands. The spell is mostly used to heal light injuries, such as mild to moderate bruises, mild cuts and mild burns, but those who master it are said to be able to heal a person's entire body just by touching them. The spell can be used to heal the user too.

'A healing technique? That's pretty nice, I could never really use healing jutsu because of reserves. The Six Paths Yang chakra doesn't really count as healing, and I only had it for a little while. Also, magic spell? Magic actually exists and I can learn it?' Naruto was quite excited to learn magic, ignoring the fact that Ninjutsu and Genjutsu were basically magic spells with fancy names.

Thinking over whether he should learn the skill now or later, Naruto decided to learn it right away. Sitting up and looking around, he saw that all the goblins around him were asleep, and he couldn't see anyone coming from the tunnels. He actually didn't notice that his [Night Vision] went up another level, which was enough to let him see the rest of this small cavern.

Taking the book from his inventory by grabbing the icon and pulling, how he knew doing that would work was inconsequential, he saw a screen pop up the moment he held it in his hands.

Do you wish to use the Skill Book and learn the Skill [Healing Hands]?
[Accept / Decline]

Pressing accept, Naruto was surprised when the book dissolved into bright blue pixels that then flowed into him. Looking around just in case anybody saw anything, he sighed in relief that no one saw anything. He also received an influx of information, not dissimilar to what used to happen with his Shadow Clones, which gave him the knowledge of the spell and how to perform it.

[Skill Created!]
As a result of using a Skill Book, you have gained the Active Skill [Healing Hands]!

[Healing Hands] (Active, Lvl: 1): A basic magic spell that allows the user to heal damage through the healing aura generated by their hands. The spell is mostly used to heal light injuries, such as mild to moderate bruises, mild cuts and mild burns, but those who master it are said to be able to heal a person's entire body just by touching them. The spell can be used to heal the user too. This skill uses MP to heal.
Small Chance to Remove Status Effects

Deciding that it wouldn't hurt to try out his new spell, Naruto called out the skill's name and saw his hands light up in a small light green aura. He noticed his MP drop initially, but then fill up. It didn't take him long to figure out that his MP Regeneration was higher the cost of the spell, which was handy.

Cutting off the spell, since he didn't need to heal anything, he got up and decided to look around the rest of the cave. He was surprised that he didn't notice it before, but the area he and the rest of the young goblins were sleeping was much bigger than he thought. It seemed like the cavern extended further out in one direction and making his way down it he saw that it led to the entrance of the cave.

He saw sunlight peeking through the cave's mouth, and in the relatively large chamber he saw a good number of goblins, around 20 goblins. A few were rather elderly, not as old as Gobujii, but the rest were all older than him.

Turning around, he chose a different tunnel, using the Mini-Map to realize which tunnel led where, and made his way through it. He noted that while the cave was natural for the most part, it seemed like the goblins had dug out portions of it to make the tunnels and caverns slightly bigger.

The next room he found had a large number of boxes and crates strewn around. They seemed to be filled with random loot, that the goblins must have gotten from raiding merchants. He was able to figure it out, because he'd seen similar things when he was taking down bandit camps.

He saw quite a few weapons and armour, even things like backpacks and bottles filled with mysterious liquids. He also found a few crates that were filled with coins and gems, and pouches that contained jewellery, but he wasn't sure why goblins would care about things like this. They would be rather useless to them. Naruto wanted to take a weapon or two, but he wasn't sure whether that was allowed. He didn't want to suddenly be attacked for breaking some rule he didn't know about.

He did find a few crates that held things like ropes, cloth, leather and nails, and a few holding pots and pans, while others held what looked like smithing gear. The different make and brands on all the crates, and with how they seemed to differ in terms of age, meant that the goblins must have been stocking up on loot for a long time.

"So, the goblins probably attack travelers and merchants, taking all their stuff and probably killing them." Naruto muttered to himself while wondering if he should grab some things for later. "No, they might notice them missing, and while I have my [Inventory, I'd prefer not to cause any problems right away. I'll ask Gobujii if I can take somethings tomorrow, I doubt he'll refuse."

Finding another tunnel from the storage room, as he began calling it, he went down it and saw something he'd been hoping not to find. He saw a group of human women with dead eyes and barely covered by some rags. He looked into the eyes of some of them, and while they were resigned to this hellish existence, some desire to live existed in them.

He turned around and left, sighing as he clenched his fist, desperately wanting to help them or at least ease their suffering, but he knew that right now he couldn't do anything. He already figured something like this was probably happening, having read the entry on goblins in the [Compendium] and the racial skill [Monstrous Virility] emphasized the ability to impregnate women of all species, regardless of chemical or magical barriers.

Heading back into the sleeping chamber, he headed down another tunnel. At the end he found what looked like a ramshackle farm, growing moss and algae. Naruto was surprised the goblins could even farm, but looking around it was clear that nature was doing most of the work. It seemed that a small river was probably flowing nearby, since a couple of the wall were considerably damp and were probably providing the moisture for the moss, algae and a few other plants growing on them.

Leaving, he continued searching finding several empty rooms that seemed to serve no purpose. He wasn't sure what they were for, but he figured the goblins might have used them for extra storage or places to sleep. Seeing that no one is going to bother him here, he began thinking about what he should do.

He could try and train his body, that always helped him focus on something other than his issues. Training would also help him in a different way, since it would let him get rid of some of the anger and frustration bubbling inside him. It was something he's always done, to get his mind off what's bothering him.

Considering how weak he currently was, trying any exercise regimen given to him by Jiraiya or even Kakashi was probably too much for him to handle. He decided to do the exercises his teachers had them do at the academy, cutting out a few things since there wasn't much room for running and no obstacle course to go through.

Eventually after a while, Naruto lied on his back panting for breath. He was wondering why he didn't gain any Taijutsu skills, since he practiced his Frog Kata and a few of the other styles he knew. He also was wondering why he didn't get any skills like [Strong Strike, or something like it. He remembered how in his video games there were these basic skills that came with certain classes. Looking into the [Codex] tab, he found out that combat skills can only be obtained or improved through combat. He did find a small loophole, since sparring technically counted as combat, all he needed was someone to spar with him.

Feeling much more relaxed, as the training helped a lot in relieving his stress, he was surprised that he wasn't a sweaty mess. He remembered [Gamer's Body, and he figured that it probably also covered things like not sweating, which he didn't mind that much.

Stretching and warming down, he made his way towards his sleeping spot. Before lying down, he sneaked a look at the cave's entrance and saw that the sun was still up. It was probably morning when he woke up and it was probably a bit after noon, it was probably morning when he woke up and it was probably a bit after noon, but he couldn't really tell. Returning to his spot, he laid down and closed his eyes. Sleep came by almost instantly, as the moment he started drifting off, he fell into a deep sleep.

Day 4

[You have slept on the ground]
50% of your HP and MP have been restored and all Status Effects have been removed

'Right, this isn't a weird dream. I guess I should get up now.' were the thoughts that were running through Naruto's head when he woke up that morning. He noticed that his body became a bit bigger, and looking around he saw that his fellow goblin siblings, a notion which he had conflicting feelings about, were also bigger.

They were around his size, a bit smaller and thinner, which he figured meant they were all adults now. He also saw that some of them now had hair, and looking a bit closer they were the ones that were wearing some sort of tunic. It took him a few moments, but he figured that they were the female goblins.

They were slightly smaller than he was yesterday, while he was around the size of the adult goblins. Naruto figured that this meant he was an adult and hoped that he could go out hunting.

Getting up, he noticed that some of his siblings were stirring, so he quietly and carefully made his way towards the entrance. While in the tunnel, he almost ran into a goblin that was carrying a basket filled with larvae. Looking at it in confusion, the older goblin mistook it as a sign of hunger.

"This is for the elderly who can't go out and get their own food. Go get your own food." The gruff looking goblin told him.

"Oh, alright!" was Naruto's curt and slightly confused reply. He wasn't really sure why the other goblin started the conversation like that, but the information was helpful regardless. He made his way to the entrance and sat cross-legged,

'Going out hunting by myself isn't the best idea, since goblins are apparently one of the weakest monsters out there. Also, without any weapons, jutsu or spells I wouldn't be able to hunt anything solo.' Naruto thought to himself as began planning, something he rarely did in advance, but he knew he couldn't risk it. It was one thing when he could survive having his heart destroyed, but now any medium strength blow would kill him.

'So, I'm going to have to get partner for hunting, which I don't really mind that much. Still, it'll have to be one of my siblings, that's never going to stop being weird will it. Anyway, it'll have to be one of them since I doubt any of the older goblins will follow my orders or even go with me.' Naruto reasoned with himself, and decided to wait until some of the goblins his age made their way to the entrance. All of them seemed to just find a place to sit, which puzzled him.

'Aren't they hungry? Maybe they don't know they can go out to get food.' Taking note of their names, one caught his eye. It was Gobukichi, and the name reminded him of Gamakichi.

Naruto stood up and made his way to the rather blank faced goblin and asked him if he wanted to go hunting with him since it'll be easier with two of them.

"Alright! Let's go!" was Gobukichi's reply.

'I guess goblins are pretty easy going and stupid.' Naruto thought while smiling outwardly. Naruto and his partner made their way out the cave, and he made sure to place a waypoint on his map, to remember where the cave's entrance was. It was something he discovered while reading somethings in the [Codex] part of the [Journal].

The duo made their way through the forest, and Naruto kept a sharp eye out. He stopped at a nearby tree and pulled two small branches off it. He then smoothed them, breaking off the smaller twig branches and shortening them slightly. They became small clubs, or to the two goblins regular sized clubs. Well, Gobukichi was carrying a club, Naruto was holding something more akin to a really short staff.

Naruto gave one to Gobukichi, and seeing the confused look on his partner's face, he showed him that they could use it to hit things harder. He had Gobukichi practice with him for several minutes until Naruto was satisfied with the small amount of progress he made with the club.

Naruto's constant vigilance and observation got rewarded, and he was really happy that he managed to not react outwardly to the screen that suddenly popped up in front of him.

'That's pretty useful, and it doesn't use MP? Awesome, let me try it out.' Naruto was excited at getting a new skill, that he called on it mentally.

[Oak Tree]
A hardwood tree that is considered to be one of the most common tree types. This one is several hundred years old and is just like the rest of the trees around it.

Naruto stared at the screen for a few seconds while he continued walking, before he turned and used [Observe] on Gobukichi, who was following behind him.

Name: Gobukichi
Race: GoblinLevel: 1
Gobukichi is a fellow goblin, the same age as you.

'That's handy, but there isn't much information. Does it give me more the higher level it is?' Naruto wondered and decided to test that theory by using [Observe] on everything in his line of sight.

He mostly just used it on various trees, but he did get some useful information on some berries and mushrooms that he saw growing around. After a few minutes of walking and looking for prey, Naruto's constant use of [Observe] had it level up a significantly, reaching a point where it would even show him the stats of others.

[Observe] (Active, Lvl: 6): Through continuous observation, a skill to observe objects, situations, and persons was generated allowing the user to quickly gather information. Testing out the new [Observe] on Gobukichi, he got a lot more information than before.

Name: Gobukichi
Race: GoblinAge: 4 Days
Level: 1
Perks: [Goblin]
Emotions: Happy
Gobukichi is a fellow goblin, the same age as you. He seems like a loyal and easy-going goblin, but on the other hand he is really stupid.

'Well at least he's happy.' Naruto sweat dropped at how the screen called Gobukichi really stupid. 'I really hope he can follow a basic plan when we find some animal, otherwise it's not going to end well.'

Noticing movement in the corner of his eye, Naruto quickly crouched down and motioned for him to do the same. Signaling for Gobukichi to remain where he was, Naruto quietly crept and saw what caused the movement.

It was a brown rabbit with a horn. Quickly using [Observe] mentally, an action which was becoming second nature to him, he read through its information rapidly and thought up a plan to take it down.

Horned RabbitLevel: 2
This is a rabbit with a horn. It is one of the weaker animals inhabiting this forest, but it survives thanks to its powerful breeding capabilities. As a result of gaining a horn, this rabbit lost its powerful sense of hearing and smell, causing many predators to easily sneak up on it.

Returning silently back to Gobukichi, who was waiting patiently for him. Naruto motioned for him to follow, and they repositioned themselves to a more hidden spot, while keeping sight of the rabbit.

"Alright, I have a plan to take down the rabbit and its very simple. You go chase it around, you don't have to go all out. Just get its attention and scare it, and while it's distracted, I'll go for the kill. Got it?"

Gobukichi nodded in complete seriousness, afterwards he jumped with a war cry and slammed his club near the rabbit. That startled it and caused to start running away, but Gobukichi began to chase after it.

The moment Gobukichi jumped at the rabbit, Naruto started running in the direction he figured the rabbit will take. Despite the surprise at his partner's actions, Naruto was an experienced shinobi and even in a new body he could still react rather quickly.

A chase that only lasted a couple of minutes and ended when Naruto had gotten slightly ahead and jumped at the rabbit. He swung his staff down, striking it on the neck and killing it instantly.

Closing his eyes and praising himself for not hunting solo, Naruto almost missed Gobukichi trying to eat the rabbit by himself.

"OI! We worked together to catch it, didn't we? We should be splitting it then!" Naruto shouted at him, while smacking him a few times with his stick. The hits weren't too hard, only leaving a couple of bruises. Somehow, this knocked Gobukichi unconscious, but using [Observe] Naruto saw that he'll wake up in a few seconds and that no real damage was done.

While Gobukichi was learning about hierarchies through his impromptu nap session, Naruto broke off the rabbit's horn at the base. He used [Observe] on it was pretty much what he expected.

[Small Animal Horn]
A small horn taken from a young Horned Rabbit. It can pierce through a great deal of materials but is otherwise a mediocre weapon.

'I mean, I wasn't expecting something extremely powerful, but I guess this is better than the club. I can use it like a kunai, it's the right size anyway, but I probably shouldn't try throwing it anything.' Naruto thought while grabbing hold of the rabbit by the ears. 'I'd like to keep the pelt intact, hopefully make some sort of pillow, but I probably need some sort of blade to skin it.'

Naruto's train of thought was overturned when he saw Gobukichi just staring at the rabbit and drooling. 'Agh, I'm starting to feel bad. Maybe I overreacted a bit.'

Using his new weapon, Naruto managed to tear off one of the rabbit's haunches and while he was doing that, he apologized to Gobukichi. Presenting the haunch to the drooling goblin got him an unwanted hug.

"Thanks, Goburuto!"

"Alright, alright. Don't cling to me."

They ended up splitting the rabbit between them and eating it raw, fur and all. Seeing Gobukichi just tear into the rabbit and eat it, fur, meat and bones, made Naruto realize that goblins were very much capable of eating things normal humans can't. Of course, according to his [Absorption] skill, there was nothing he couldn't eat but he didn't have proof of that.

While they were eating, Naruto was pleasantly surprised by how good the meat tasted, even raw, but more by a feature the Gamer System had. It seemed if a combat encounter was going to occur, it would hide all non-essential pop-ups form view until after combat had finished.

[Skill Created!]
As a result of hiding your presence and moving silently, you have developed the Passive skill [Stealth]!

[Stealth] (Passive, Lvl: 1): You were once a shinobi, and a particularly bad one at that. However, you did excel in the field of stealth, mostly as a result of the many pranks you've successfully pulled off. This skill allows you to move quieter and faster while reducing enemy awareness. Sensory skills, especially magical ones, can negate stealth unless appropriate countermeasures are taken. Attacks launched when hidden cause extra damage. This skill activates any time you are doing something stealthily, so it's categorized as a passive skill.
Reduced Movement Noise and Enemy Awareness
Faster Movement Stealth Speed
Bonus Damage When Hidden

[Skill Created!]
As a result of using a blunt weapon in combat relatively well, you have developed the Passive skill [Blunt Weapon Mastery]!

[Blunt Weapon Mastery] (Passive, Lvl: 1): The oldest type of weapon known to any species, it can be anything from a sturdy piece of wood to a finely crafted kanabo. This skill allows the user to freely handle blunt weapons, increasing the damage caused and the speed of attacks.
Increased Attack Damage and Attack Speed with Blunt Weapons

'Okay, those skills are nice, they're passive so I don't have to worry about activating them. Did my own power insult me? Who are you calling a bad shinobi? I was a really good one, sure I didn't really follow the Shinobi Code, it was a bunch of crap anyways, and yeah, I might've disobeyed orders a few times. I mean ... but uh ..., fine I wasn't the best shinobi by the definition of the word, but you don't have to rub it in.' Naruto thought rather angrily as he bit into the rabbit he was eating.

Naruto opened his [Status] screen, and saw his level jump up by two levels. He was now level three, with his XP bar only having a sliver filling it up. He also saw that Gobukichi jumped up a level, reaching level two.

He was surprised he didn't get any skills from the rabbit, but he figured that it probably didn't develop any. He'll see if any other Horned Rabbits provide skills, or if the species just didn't provide any.

Eating meat, after several days of just bugs and moss was pretty nice. Naruto also managed to get his hands on a weapon, so the trip was successful in his mind. Seeing how the rabbit managed to fill both of them up, Naruto led them to a nearby creek he spotted earlier to wash off the blood on them.

Afterwards, the duo began making their way towards the cave, taking a different path. This helped Naruto practice his [Observe] even more, since he's hoping to level it up further. Naruto had thrown away his small club in favor of the horn, and he tucked that into the back of his loin cloth. Gobukichi followed his behavior, placing his club the same way.

Once they made it back to the cave, some of the older goblins were surprised to see them. Naruto wasn't too sure why, and he didn't really care that much. Gobukichi just went and found a spot to relax in, and after a few minutes he was conked out. While he went doing that, Naruto instead searched for Gobujii, since he wanted to ask him something.

Finally spotting the elderly goblin with his cane, Naruto went up to him and asked him if he can use the stuff in the storage area. It took the old goblin a few seconds to realize that Naruto was talking about their treasure pile and told him that the stuff there was off limits. Only the top goblins could take stuff from there, but after Naruto asked about things like rope and cloth, Gobujii told him those things were fine. Naruto was slightly upset that he couldn't take some a weapon or two, but he decided to become a top goblin, if only to get better gear.

Walking into the room, Naruto planned on crafting a few things. He knew he couldn't do much, since he didn't have tools, but he figured he might be able to make a few things. He grabbed a few things from the storage area, like some rope, cloth and a few nails.

After a while, Naruto only managed to craft a single thing. He worked on turning his small horn into a kyoketsu, or basically a knife on a rope. The horn may not be a knife, but he figured extending its range, even slightly, would really help in hunting. He doubted he'd keep it for very long, but it'll have to do for now.

He made the new makeshift weapon by drilling a hole into the base of the horn using one of the nails and a rock, and then pulling some rope into it. The rope was thankfully of the thinner variety, but still really tough, evidenced by his long attempts at cutting it shorter using the horn. Upon finishing his first creation, which he used by tying the end of the rope on his wrist, a screen popped up in front of him.

[Skill Created!]
As a result of manufacturing a something rudimentarily complex, you have developed the Active skill [Manufacturing]!

[Manufacturing] (Active, Lvl: 1): Humanity has advanced their civilization through inventing things. Crafted objects become better as mastery levels rise. This skill encompasses all forms of crafting and manufacturing, be they magical or mundane. This skill also increases manufacturing speed, finished quality, and the chance to create something new.
Bonus to Manufacturing Speed
Bonus Quality Improvement
Bonus Innovation Idea

'Cool! That's a really useful skill, it'll make crafting the other things much easier. Let's see what [Observe] tells me about my new Kyoketsu.'

[Small Horn on a Rope]
Made from a Small Animal Horn and some rope, this rudimentary Kyoketsu is an improvement on the horn it was made from. The rope can only allow the horn to extend some 30 cm, but the horn's sharpness when combined with a powerful thrust can let this weapon punch through most creatures.

Tying another small length of rope further up his forearm, with a knot to create a sort of sheath, he created a way to carry his new weapon without much trouble. Afterwards, he worked on making a sack that can be carried, but to no avail he wasn't succeeding. The problem was the lack of tools, mainly a knife, since trying to cut the cloth or ropes was too difficult with the horn. He faced a similar problem when trying to make a shirt and didn't even bother with pants.

Sighing at failing to make anything else, he did look a bit more into what's in the crates, and he did find one holding quite a bit of leather. Once he has some tools, he'll be able to make some nice clothes.

He was really thankful that Ero-Sennin tricked him into learning some odd skills by saying a ninja would need them to blend in. The old pervert was just using them as an excuse to have Naruto stop bugging him.

Seeing as he won't be making anything else, he figured that it's time for some physical training and went to where he did his training last time. Following the same regime as last time, only now he managed more reps. The exercises were slowly starting to become easier, and it seemed like he'll need to find some way to make the exercises more difficult. He didn't have any ideas as to how he'll do that, but even if the progress becomes slow, he'll continue his training.

Exhausted and unable to do any more physical training, Naruto decided to just go to sleep. With a small burst of energy, he managed to get up and make his way to the entrance, find a nice spot and fall asleep.

Somewhere in the forest

'Finally, I got away from that beast. Where am I? Why am I so weak? Most importantly, WHY AM I SO SMALL? I JUST KNOW THIS IS ALL HIS FAULT!' the creature hiding beneath some exposed roots exclaimed in its head, 'What did you rope me into you blonde haired bastard!'

Growling and scowling for a while, the creature swore to itself, 'I'll find what happened and teach that brat a lesson; I'll also make sure to EAT THAT DAMNED BUNNY!'

So, like I said, one of the biggest changes you've probably noticed is that Naruto is older. I basically had the clash between him and Sasuke after sealing Kaguya result in a massive explosion that killed them both.

No, Sasuke will not be in this fic.

Naruto is a bit OOC, I will admit, but that's mainly because I'm getting used to writing again. I might later on just go through this chapter and change some things and better showcase his character, but that's not for a while. I would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions or ideas as to how better write his character. There will be some differences from canon Naruto's development, but that's expected since they are experiencing different things.

You will also notice that I am following the Re: Monster manga more closely, and that's because I didn't know where I was going with my previous direction. Things will differ, after all Naruto and Rou are very different people.

I also am now using Word to store all the info for stats and skills. Basically, it summarizes for me the stats and skills at the end of each chapter, and it helps that I'm using a simplified version of the Gamer. If I get enough requests, mainly through comments, I will create a new g-mail with its own google drive and have the Stat files uploaded there.

You may have noticed that the Rank Up and Levelling system of the Re: Monster world is different, but it's mainly a cosmetic change, so to speak. Basically, what happens every 100 levels in Re: Monster now happens every 25, and the scaling is adjusted to reflect that.

Now onto something completely different.

I will start writing a few other fics, but not Gamer ones. I love reading them and even writing them, but it takes a lot of effort and time to make them work. It really burns you out. Hopefully when I start writing other fics, I'll get used to writing again and things will become easier.
