Summary:
This fanfiction was heavily inspired by CallMePinkLasagna: the Dragonborn Returns.
So as a homage to the original story that I enjoyed, The first chapter will be quite similar with some differences so it can fit my story. This will be the only chapter that would be anything close to the original I will take some elements I did like from the original story but most of it will be in my own words and my ideas.
Notes:
This chapter has been updated Hopefully I fix some of the errors
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
The first couple of chapters are on the rewrite due to grammar. I first wrote this fanfiction when I was still new. Please note that it does get way better after a certain point.
Chapter 1: Journey
"Are you sure you two want to do this?" Izuku asked his two closest companions.
In the center of a great hall stood a man with curly green hair and freckles adorning his face. With him were his 7 comrades, those who stood with him on his journey throughout Skyrim.
"It shouldn't make a difference if two more people are added to the spell… but the final decision lies with you. " A red-headed Nord mage known as Cridarin Lord of Flames explained. Then Grandmaster Delphine Of the Blades, voiced her opinion.
"C'mon Izuku, you need to give those two some credit. Lydia's no longer just the housecarl sworn to carry your burdens. This is a choice she's making out of her own volition. And there's no way Serana would want to be left behind, considering you're the closest thing she has to a family left."
Izuku knew she was right, but he was still hesitant to rip the two from the place they'd called home for their entire lives. He knew how it felt to be stranded in an unfamiliar world and the loneliness associated with it, so he didn't want his dearest companions to experience that same grief.
"It's as Grandmaster Delphine says. I follow you not out of my duty to Whiterun, but out of my fealty to you."
Lydia was Izuku's first companion and his first friend. They met in Whiterun before she was His companion and ended up being his reward for defending Whiterun from a dragon attack and becoming a thane. When she first met Izuku he was a shell of his former self. She helped him along with others in piecing him back together. She did not know if he could be fixed, but eventually, she realized just how silly she was being. Izuku had proven to her time and time again that he truly was a hero who deserved every ounce of her respect.
His staunch dedication to bettering the realm, his unwavering loyalty to his friends, his unmatched bravery when faced against insurmountable odds, his intelligent mind, and his kindness were unending. These were all qualities she'd seen in Izuku as she served as his housecarl and he was nothing like the broken boy that she met all those years ago. Now she only wished to serve him to the fullest. But Lydia remembered her frustration at being left behind, unable to fight alongside her lord during his battles with Alduin and Miraak. Now the thought of being left behind again was just too much.
"So please, My Thane… please don't leave me behind again." Lydia was now on the verge of tears Before Izuku could move to comfort Lydia, his other cherished companion stepped forward and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry Lydia, Izuku can't get rid of us that easily." Serana said in a comforting tone. She then looked Izuku dead in the eyes and then beamed a feral grin at him.
"If you really think you can talk us out of following you, then you might be dumber than we give you credit for. Make no mistake, even if you decided to leave us behind, I'd travel through the plains of Oblivion just to find you. And once I do, I'd beat you ragged until you realize your mistake." Serana said with so much conviction and intensity that a bead of sweat started to form on Izuku's brow. He knew the vampire well enough to know she wasn't kidding. It seemed like Izuku was beginning to relent, he just needed one final push.
"Plus, someone has to watch you so you don't do anything stupid." This time, it was the new Thieves Guild leader Brynjolf.
"And as much as I'd love to be around to clean up your messes, the Thieves Guild needs their leader now more than ever. Especially after the Mercer Fiasco." Brynjolf Said with a tired sigh
"I too have been away from the college long enough, we will definitely miss your presents there and your revolutionary ideas on magic. But I must get back to my students." Tolfdir the new archmage says tiredly.
"And thanks to you, I have new students to teach the way of the voice. S o I'll need to get back very soon as well." Arngeir says with a sigh.
izuku immediately remembers the difficult negotiations between the blades and the greybeards. it was hard to get them to settle all of their differences. B ut thanks to those negotiations some members of the blades have been granted permission to be trained in the ways of The Voice.
he was knocked out of his musings when Cridarin spoke up. " I still have to find Ember and I know he's in this realm somewhere. B ut when I'm done who knows... I might join you."
then Aela chips in. "And plus somebody needs to keep you from getting yourself killed." The Unofficial leader of the companion says with a fawn smile on her face
Izuku blushed as he scratched the back of his head. Sure, he'd often put others before himself and recklessly charge into danger, but Izuku only did so because he knew he could handle it, despite what his friends thought. Plus, he trusted his friends to cover for him in case he did slip up.
Seeing as the two companions in question wouldn't back down and the rest of his friends agreed with their decision, Izuku gave one last sigh and relented.
"Alright, you two can come. I certainly wouldn't mind the company." Despite his outward protests, deep down, Izuku wanted them to follow him. As Delphine said, Serana had seen him and Lydia as family. Izuku shared the same sentiment.
It had been ten years since Izuku was taken from his home on Earth and thrust into Skyrim Where he met so many other people. He'd known Lydia the longest, so their closeness was a given. Serana, on the other hand, was the last person to join his party. But despite knowing him the shortest, the two had formed a deep connection considering everything Izuku had done for her. And with Lydia being like the younger sister she never had, the three were nearly inseparable.
"Then that settles it. Make your preparations, the spell will be cast tomorrow morning." And with that, Izuku Midoriya, the last Dragonborn, the Hero of Skyrim prepared to return to Earth, with his two closest companions in tow.
