The Dragon Hero Dovahkiin
Chapter 39: A Much Needed Break
After meeting with Nezu to discuss the events that happened 3 days ago. Izuku made his way to the college to check on his girls. Izuku was still upset that the UA board was still going ahead with the sports festival. Especially when he told them that the Dark Brotherhood wouldn't care that there was an army of heroes there, if it meant killing their target, they would gladly go on a suicide mission. Hell, they didn't even need to be there in person; they could just send an army of corpses to do the Dirty Work for them. Not to mention the thousands of civilians that they would gladly take hostage if it meant killing their targets. The Dark Brotherhood were not villains, they were more akin to terrorists, which he made very clear to them, but apparently, the word villain in Terrorist has been so convoluted that nobody could see the difference. Well, in Japan at least. Izuku knew that the US had made that very clear, they knew the difference since any villain marked as a terrorist was hunted down with extreme prejudice. But apparently Japan doesn't have the capability of seeing it, which is only going to make his job harder and protect his charge. Not to mention the threat of dragons that would gladly target such an event if it meant showing their dominance.
But no, the board and their greed needed to have the UA sports festival. He could understand that it was not just the board that was getting money, but it was an opportunity for many other businesses to gain a substantial amount of money as well. At least he was able to make a compromise and get the blades along with the companions as extra security, for them to hold the Sports festivals on separate days, and for Nezu to allow him, Serana, and Lydia to join the first-year sports festival. Originally, he was going to stay out of the sports festival and let his students shine. But this was the perfect opportunity to get extra security around the students without making it obvious. Not to mention, to show that the Dragonborn was not a mere story, and to show off and introduce the world to Magic by showing what a Master could do.
Crossing the bridge and entering the courtyard of the college, he looked around. The college was just as he remembered. During his tenure as archmage, he had ordered several remodelings of the old school in hopes of providing a better experience for the students as well as adding security. The first things that were added were the indoor herbal Gardens that could be easily accessed by the main Courtyard. The second one was an expansion to the dorms and their facilities. The Hall of the Elements was also modified by adding a second level to it with a spiral staircase in the center.
The second level was mostly a cafeteria level for everybody to eat, so they didn't have to be all cooped up in their dorms. The arcanium was also heavily upgraded with books and Scrolls from all over Tamriel, which was so much that they had to invest in a second level and extra security. Izuku also wrote several other books on his own theories and knowledge from his own world during his tenure as archmage, and it seemed like the old orc Urag gro-Shub really appreciated the changes. Although recently, the old orc was attempting to purchase books from his world to add to the various collections of the college. He did not mind this whatsoever, but he made it very clear to the old orc if they somehow made it back, that all those books were to be locked away in the Restricted Section. He did not need Tamriel to go through an unstable technological Revolution overnight. Which the old orc understood after all, he knew better than anyone that information was power and he would be damned to let that power into the wrong hands.
Heading into the archmage's quarters, which had been given back to him, he took a quick bath before getting dressed for the date that he was having with Nemuri tonight. The two were going out on the town and to a restaurant that he was able to get reservations for. He had ordered his specially modified limousine, which was reinforced with magic, to be brought around to the side entrance of UA since the Press was camping out at the front entrance ever since the attack on his girls and the Todorokis. Apparently, his two dragon friends flying beside Ryuko didn't go unnoticed, and there were a lot of questions attaining to it. Nezu had stated that he would address the matter after the sports festival. But did state that the Dragons were currently living on campus and that they were not a threat. Which resulted in every reporter in the area camping right outside of UA in hopes of getting any information on the situation. This caused UA to be a little protective of their students and to give the option to certain students to live on campus at the college. Several students took them up on that offer.
Heading downstairs from his quarters, he was quite surprised at what he saw in the Arcadium. There, passed out at one of the tables, was Momo. He knew Momo was not getting any sleep recently due to recent events. And it was probably for this fact that Urag didn't just zap her awake like he did to other students. Chuckling at the memory, he approached her before scooping her up gently into his arms. He then gave a nod of thanks to Urag, who was behind his desk, who simply gave him a dismissive wave in response. Before he started taking her down to her quarters, he noticed what she was reading, and he could not help but wince. It was the unedited version of his biography that he left in the College of Winterhold. She was already halfway through the book, which meant that she already knew who not only told him to jump off a rooftop but also who crushed his dreams and left him on said rooftop. Not to mention the various other nasty things that happened to him. Looking down at Momo, He could notice the tear tracks that went down her face, which meant she probably cried herself to sleep. Letting out a long sigh, he made his way to the student living quarters.
Opening the door to the quarters, he was greeted by Ochaco munching on her third bowl of stew. Ever since she found out that the table upstairs, as well as the cafeteria, could magically create all sorts of food at certain times of day, she would make sure to grab several bowls of food and gorge herself on it. At the beginning of the year, he was quite concerned about the girl, especially after he noticed that she was quite thin for a girl her age, similar to Momo at the beginning of the school year. But after investigating, it seemed that she simply came from a poverty-stricken family, unlike Momo, who came from an abusive one. In fact, it seemed that the parents had sacrificed a lot to get her into UA. Luckily for them, Nezu had lined up some repair work jobs for their families' Construction Company, and they were a little better off because of it. But that did not remove the habits that the girl had created over the years. The day she moved into the dorms, he was able to convince her to eat as much as she wanted, especially since he had said that the food was created using Magic and was free.
He knew that she did not want to feel like a burden or some type of Moocher, so he explained the reason why the food creation ruins were created for this school. It was for the exact reason that a lot of the students who came here didn't come from a lot of money or wealth to begin with. Since Skyrim was a medieval society, there were a lot more poverty-stricken people because of it. That seemed to convince her, and she's been eating as much as she wants ever since. Giving her a friendly nod, he took Momo to her room and tucked her in for the night before heading out himself.
An Hour Later
Izuku walked in with Nemuri into the restaurant under an illusion spell. He didn't want random reporters or, god forbid, the Dark Brotherhood to somehow figure out he was on a date with one of his girls. So it was only when they reached the receptionist that he dropped the illusion that made everybody ignore their existence on a subconscious level. Which ended up startling the poor receptionist, but after a quick apology and a quick introduction, they were guided to their table. The restaurant had five stars and was exclusively for Heroes and their guests. The restaurant guaranteed privacy as well as a high level of security, which had been heightened due to recent events.
It was also extremely expensive, but that was not an issue due to the vast fortune that he had brought over from Nirn. Which was only enhanced due to well-placed investments and the activities of the guild. Speaking of the guild, he was going to have to introduce his old Thieves Guild friends to the guild, and hopefully, they could help run it. However, he just hoped that the fact that they were stealing information instead of gold would be all right with them. He would just have to spin it in such a way to satisfy some of the more... greedy members of the Thieves Guild. But that was a problem for future Izuku. Right now, all he wanted to do was to enjoy the evening with Nemuri. After sitting down and ordering their meal, Nemuri spoke up.
"When I was getting ready, I noticed that you brought Momo to the dorms. Was she all right?" Nemuri asked as she drank some water. Letting out a tired sigh, Izuku responded.
"I found her fast asleep in the college library, and apparently, she came across the unaltered version of my biography that I had left there. The fact that she was most likely crying before she fell asleep, it's safe to assume that she read enough that I'm going to have to talk to her about it." Izuku said, letting out another long sigh.
Nemuri could not help but inwardly wince at his words. It was hard for her to take in what Izuku went through, and that was saying something. She was a hero for several years now and she's seen some fucked up shit. Because of that, she had built up a tolerance and the proper mental fortitude to handle such information. Momo, though, yeah, that was a different story. She was probably going to need more than a talk, though. It would probably be a good idea if she informs Hound Dog of the situation. She could also... Her thoughts were cut off by Izuku speaking up again.
"I am likely going to have to put those books in the Restricted Section, just in case." Izuku said, frowning a bit
"Yeah, that's probably for the best." Nemuri agreed while nodding her head. After that, their food arrived and they moved on to less heavier topics. They ate and talked for a good 2 hours before making their way back to UA.
Sometime Later, Izuku's Mindscape
Nana Shimura sat in the Great Library that resides in her current host's mind. According to Izuku, every book or information he read was located in that Library, and it showed. It was probably going to take her decades to read everything here, and that's not even including the Restricted Section. Which obviously she does not have access to, although she hoped in the future that she would. She really liked the dude, and now she has context on what he was talking about earlier due to said books that he provided. And oh boy, if she knew what she knew now, she too wouldn't have passed on OFA. Hell, most of the past users agreed with her. The only three that didn't were the first, second, and third users, but those three are... Well, the word fanatic doesn't come close in the slightest. Which was proven after Izuku attempted to give them a chance by letting them out, and the first thing those three tried to do was get to the OFA in the center of the room. It was obvious due to her connection to the quirk that they were trying to forcefully activate OFA, in the hope of finding a new user nearby. Luckily, that did not come to pass since Izuku had reinforced why he was in charge. Now, those 3 were deep within what Izuku called the ice prison freezing their butts off. And to be honest, she couldn't blame him for putting them down there. Those three were attempting to harm not just Izuku, who was being completely fair with them, but possibly another person.
At least Izuku was being understanding that they were not part of whatever they were trying to do. But he did have to insist on them wearing some type of bracelet to limit access to his mindscape, which she had to admit was understandable, especially after what those three tried to do. She just hopes that he will let them out to stretch their legs eventually. Apparently, what she had learned was that he was exploring the possibility of somehow summoning them from his mind in the form of spirits. But he wanted to make sure it was safe before he attempted anything. He already knew it was going to be safe for him, but he was worried that they might be torn to shreds in the attempt. She just hopes that eventually she can go hit that Blonde oaf again. She didn't know how, but somehow she was outside his mindscape and in front a bound and pissed off Toshinori that she had the privilege of beating up before she was back in her cell. In fact, it was because of that incident that Izuku came up with the idea of somehow summoning them.
But that was going to take a lot of study before any attempt could be made. Luckily, that was one of the things he's been doing lately every time he entered his mindscape. That and researching methods of taking care of All For One, just in case he encounters him. She was glad that he was taking that man as a serious threat, but she honestly doubted that he was going to be a threat to him, especially after what she saw in his memories. Like seriously Alduin, who was a fucking dragon, and who could swallow a world, was far above all for one's power, and she knew it. Not to mention Miraak, who was just as powerful as Alduin, if not just a bit weaker. And that was just two powerhouses. Harkon, although extremely powerful, and definitely more powerful than all for one. Was a master Tactician and manipulator who could easily surpass all for one. And Izuku tore to shreds a plan that Harkon took over a thousand years to make. Not to mention the various other powerful entities that he has fought and won. Seriously, at this point, any planning on his part is kind of Overkill. At least she could be satisfied in the knowledge that Izuku could easily take care of that bastard when the time comes. Her thoughts were cut off by one of the doors to the library opening. Looking over, she quickly saw Izuku standing there.
"I am surprised to see you here, especially since the others seem content in lazing around in their quarters." Izuku said with an eyebrow raised.
"Haha, i'm always been a book nerd myself, and this Library seems quite comfortable to read in so." Nana said sheepishly. Izuku, on his part, simply gave her a nod of understanding before heading to a section of the library and beginning his research again. Seeing this, Nana decided to speak up.
"If you don't mind me asking, what are you researching this time?" Nana asked with curiosity.
"Tonight, I was planning on researching some psychology. Momo had somehow gotten hold of an unaltered version of my biography, which caused her to cry herself to sleep. I honestly do not know what I'm going to say to her tomorrow about it, so I was hoping to see if I picked up any books on the subject that could help." Izuku said with a deep frown on his face.
"Well shit. Yeah, I can see why you're concerned. If those books are as detailed as your memories, I could see how that could mess with the girl. I'm a veteran hero during a time of chaos and I have seen some terrible shit and that still fucked with me. But if you need any help finding the information, I'll be glad to give you a hand and maybe some advice." Nana said with a smile.
"Thanks. That will be great." Izuku said with a grateful smile. After that, the two got to work.
