Thank you to Lulupickles for being an amazing and patient Beta for my first ever chapter in FF. I truly appreciate all your help.

What a shitstorm of a week and it's only Wednesday. That's 2 days since I solved the mystery that almost ruined the love of my life's entire business. This punk kid and his buddy could have destroyed Rangeman and the careers of many of my Merry Men who served this country and now their community. Thankfully I was in the right place at the right time. Problem solved. Unfortunately there's still an important issue I need to speak to the core team about. This one is inhouse and I'm not feeling okay with delivering this news. So it's time to pull up my big girl britches and meet the guys.

The core team of Rangeman consists of 4 men. Ranger, Tank, Bobby and Lester. Ranger is the absolute love of my life. Lester and Ranger are cousins. Tank and Ranger have been best friends since they were 15. All 4 became brothers when they met in the Army 15 years ago and with the exception of Ranger, they are my brothers as well. I trust them with my life.

Fobbing my way into Rangeman and I parked by the elevator. Taking a moment send a finger wave to Brett at the front desk, I then made my way up to 5. The meeting with the men is in conference room 2 in 10 mins. Since there was no fruit loops at home, I wanted some coffee and hoping that Ella had made muffins. As luck would have it she did. Triple berry muffins with what looked like a streusel topping. I'm sure it's healthy but I know it's going to be delicious. Ella made it.

This is different as I'm the first one here. I took out the folders with the info I printed for each one of the guys. They would not have to look over each others shoulders. What I was about to tell them wasn't going to make them happy. In fact they may be very angry but I knew it wasn't going to be directed at me. So I sat down and took a bite of this scrumptious Ella made muffin. A thought made me giggle and of course that's when the guys all entered the room.

"Babe, what's so funny?" Ranger asked and looked wearily at me.

"I was just thinking about you always trying to get me to eat healthy and I'm eating 3 servings of fruit all at once. A triple berry Ella muffin!" I exclaimed.

With a slight upturn to the corners of his mouth he decided not to comment on my newly discovered desire to eat healthily.

I quicky recovered. After thanking the men for joining me in the conference room, I asked them to sit, but not open the folders. I wanted to explain the reason for calling the meeting.

"Last night the game was rained out and I was left with very few options. I could watch mind numbing tv or I could go online. I went with door number 2 and searched Facebook . An hour had gone by and you know when you're down a FB rabbit hole checking out a friend's cousins girlfriends brother? Well I was in one of those. I came across a shared GoFundMe for a person who stated they have stage 3 stomach cancer.

Ranger interrupted. "Are you asking us to donate?"

"No, I'm getting to the point," I explained. Stopping myself before the eye roll.

"The whole page set my spidey senses off. There was no pictures and the story didn't make much sense. Carl's dad had stage 3 stomach cancer when we were in high school. I sat with Carl and his parents at many appointments. He only survived 2 years. So after reading and thinking back to what the drs told Carl's dad, the claims on this page weren't adding up. I'm no oncologist but the symptoms and the time frame just didn't sit right with me. Since Hector wasn't working I called him and asked him for help. He came over and he ran an IP address. He also was able to see where the GoFundMe is being deposited. That's why you have the folder in front of you. Please take a look."

All of the men quietly reviewed the first page in the folder. Lester was the first one to speak. "Bobby, could someone have cancer without you knowing?"

"When employees go through orientation they are required to give us medical power of attorney. In case of an emergency it's better than trying to reach a family member who may not answer the phone. The guys know we have their best interests at heart. So to answer your question, no. I at least would get the report. Especially something as serious ending up in the ER and being diagnosed stage 3 stomach cancer." Bobby broke it down.

"There's 16,000 dollars that's been donated" declared Tank.

I noticed Carlos continued flipping pages as where the other guys hadn't yet. I noticed his jaw tighten and both eyebrows shot up! He pinched the bridge of his nose. " It's also not his first time doing this!" Ranger spat out.

Tank ran his large hand over his smooth bald head and continued flipping.

"He had liver cancer as well 4 years ago?"

"Impossible" stated Bobby. "When employees fill out the questionnaire forms for health insurance and life insurance it specifically asks for preexisting medical conditions and we ask for them proof of their last 4 yearly physicals. I find it very hard to believe that both the insurance company, HR and myself would miss stage 4 liver cancer. You know how meticulously I go through these reports. He sure looks healthy for having survived terminal liver cancer and now stage 3 stomach cancer."
