Plot: Percy and his mother are living under the mercy of Percy's stepfather when all of a sudden a new arrival moves into their apartment building.
Will you be my new dad? - Part 1
"Come on, Percy," Sally Jackson said as she closed the door of their apartment behind her and walked to the elevator whilst holding onto the hand of her six-year-old son, Percy. "We'll go to the candy shop together," She told him as enthusiastically as she could. She loved taking Percy with her to the candy shop that she worked at. All of her co-workers loved seeing him there, the little boy was an adorable sight with his messy black hair, green eyes and cute chubby cheeks that all the women loved pulling on. It also allowed her to keep him with her all day and out of Gabe's very limited amount of hair and in turn, Percy got to enjoy spending his day in a candy shop, a win for everyone involved.
"I didn't do anything," Percy complained. "I didn't take Gabe's cards,"
"I know dear, I know," Sally nodded very seriously. "He probably lost them again. It was unfair of him to blame you, he'll cool off. Don't worry about it, Gabe can stay by himself while you can spend all day with me." She smiled and Percy smiled back.
"That sounds great," Percy smiled. He loved spending time with his mother, she was most definitely his favourite person in the world. He thought she was pretty much perfect (with the exception of her inability to kick Gabe out of their home), she had what was probably the best job in the world for a six-year-old, working in a candy shop. Percy also knew that his mother was a very pretty woman, she had lovely brown hair and blue eyes. Not like Percy's black hair and green eyes.
Apparently, Percy got his looks from his father, or at least that's what his mother told him. All Percy knew was that Gabe was not his real dad and he couldn't be happier about that. Gabe was his stepdad, he wasn't sure why his mother had married him, but he was glad that they weren't actually related.
Gabe was very smelly in Percy's opinion, and very, very mean. Percy remembered the last time he had gone to the candy shop, one of the ladies that Mum worked with had told him that she thought his mother could do better than Gabe and Percy couldn't help but agree. His mum should be married to someone way better, like an astronaut or a millionaire.
"Anyway," Sally said as she pressed the elevator button. "Remember what happened last time? No eating too much candy today."
"But Mum, it's a candy shop!" Percy protested.
"Yes, and last time you started running around the shop like a hyperactive little squirrel," Sally said with a teasing grin as she lightly pinched Percy's cheek. "You're lucky everyone thinks you're adorable."
"I am adorable though," Percy said as he pushed her hand off, causing her to laugh as the door to the elevator opened.
"That you are," Sally agreed, stepping into the elevator only to step back as she bumped into someone. "Oh, sorry I..." Sally's breath trailed off as she stared at a pair of emerald green eyes staring back at her, she paused as for a moment she felt herself back in time, sitting on a beach with Percy's father. She shook her head briefly before continuing. "I'm sorry for bumping into you." She said sincerely.
Percy stared up at the man standing in the elevator, he was pretty tall, tall enough that Percy's mum only reached up to his chest. He was dressed in black boots, blue jeans, a grey shirt and a cool-looking black leather jacket. He had black messy hair and bright green eyes, just like Percy, for a moment Percy couldn't help but wonder if this person was his father. He didn't see many people with the same hair and eyes as himself, so maybe it could be. However, he realised that if this person was his father then his mother would have recognised him and she wasn't exactly acting like his father had just suddenly come back.
"It's alright," The man said in a soft voice. "Sorry for being in your way,"
"No, it's my fault," Sally insisted. "I should have been looking."
"Either way, it's alright," The man said before stepping out of the elevator and walking past them, only to stop and turn around. "Do you know where the landlord is?" He asked.
"Oh, well he'll be in my apartment with my husband, the one at the end of the hallway." She told him.
"Thank you," He nodded appreciatively before turning and walking towards their apartment.
"Who is he?" Young Percy wondered, tugging on his mum's work uniform.
"I don't know dear, maybe he is moving in here," Sally guessed as she headed Percy into the elevator. "Mr Hubbard moved out so maybe he's taking his old place,"
"Hope you enjoyed yourself?" Sally smiled as she walked Percy back to their apartment.
"Yeah," Percy smiled brightly as he walked happily alongside her, one hand in hers while the other held onto a small bag of sweets that he had gotten.
"Good, I'm glad you had fun," She said as she opened the door and walked in, finding Gabe sitting at the table, looking over their taxes.
"Sally, pass us a twenty," He ordered without looking up from the papers.
"Hello to you too, Gabe," She said, forcing a smile on her face as she took out twenty dollars and handed it to him.
"What you got there?" Gabe finally looked up and spotted Percy's bag of sweets.
"Sweets," Percy answered bluntly, feeling somewhat worried for some reason.
"For me? Thanks," Gabe quickly reached out and snatched the sweets from him.
"Hey! That's mine!" Percy cried and tried to grab them, only for Gabe to hold him back with his spare hand.
"Learn to share, squirt," Gabe chuckled as he placed the sweets on the table and started eating, all the while holding back Percy.
"Gabe, those are for Percy!" Sally said quickly. "Please just give him his sweets and I'll make you something else to eat. Gabe, please just..." Sally found herself cut when suddenly the kitchen sink tap burst, the tap shot off and sent water everywhere around the apartment.
"What the hell?!" Gabe blurted out.
"Why does he blame me for it?!" Percy protested.
"I know it's not your fault," Sally told him as she used a towel to dry up her hair. After the tap burst, Gabe saw that Percy appeared to be not even a little bit wet and had gotten the idea that Percy had somehow done it. It had taken her a while to make him believe that there was no conceivable way for a seven-year-old to burst a tap that he wasn't near. After that Gabe had dried himself off before leaving for the day, leaving Sally to dry up the apartment with Percy's help, now she was hoping that she would be able to get changed and take a shower. "Gabe was just angry, Percy, ignore him. Anyway, I've told the landlord. He said he'll be sending someone to..." Sally was cut off by a knock at the door. "Oh...looks like he's here."
"Who?" Percy asked as his mother walked towards the door.
"Whoever the landlord sent to repair the tap," She answered before opening the door and blinking as she saw the green-eyed man from before, though this time without the jacket that he had worn. "Oh, hi, nice to see you again." She greeted. "Are you here to fix our tap?" She asked, noticing the tool kit in his hands.
"Apparently," He nodded. "Can I come in?"
"Yes, of course, come in," She told him as she stepped to the side and gestured for him to enter. He walked inside and nodded to Percy before Sally closed the door behind him. "Oh, I don't think we introduced ourselves. I'm Sally, Sally Jackson and this is my son, Percy."
"Nice to meet you both," He nodded to her. "I'm Harry, Harry Potter." He added before spotting the broken kitchen sink which was covered up in towels. "I'll assume that that's the sink then."
"Yes," Sally nodded. "It just all of a sudden burst and we don't know why," She said, glancing at Percy for the briefest moment. "The tap shot off the sink and covered us all in water and I haven't had time to have my shower and the pipes have burst and..."
"It's alright," Harry cut her off. "I'll take a look at the tap, you can go and shower or whatever, I'll be waiting here for when you get out."
"Oh, thank you, you're a lifesaver." She said appreciatively. "Percy, please stay and look after him while I shower."
"That's not necessary, the kid can go and watch TV or whatever and..."
"No, I insist," She said kindly before nodding to him and Percy before heading for the showers.
"Alright kid," Harry sighed. "Guess you're my helper for the day."
"How did the pipe burst?" Percy asked Harry who was lying on the floor with his upper body under the sink.
"My best guess is a lot of water had shot out of it," Harry frowned thoughtfully before holding his hand out and Percy quickly passed him the necessary tool. "Where's your dad?" Harry asked.
"Mum said he's 'lost at sea'," Percy shrugged.
"What are you on about? I saw him earlier,"
"That's Gabe, he's my stepdad," Percy frowned.
"Ah, and where is he?"
"Gone out," Percy answered. "Blamed me for the pipe."
"Did you do it?"
"No,"
"Okay then,"
"You believe me?" Percy smiled.
"I have no reason not to," Harry shrugged as he continued to work.
"I don't like Gabe," Percy admitted to Harry.
"What don't you like about him?" Harry asked, seeming genuinely curious.
"He's smelly," Percy answered bluntly.
"Hmm," Harry let out an amused grunt. "Am I smelly?" Percy leaned forward and sniffed Harry.
"Hmm, you're okay," Percy decided.
"That's good, let me know if I start to stink,"
"No problem!" Percy said cheerily.
"So, your name is Percy?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing, I just used to know a guy named Percy," Harry admitted.
"Was he nice?"
"At first, then he got boring and only started caring about money and work,"
"Like Gabe," Percy nodded as if he instantly understood exactly what type of person Harry was talking about.
"Nah, he was way thinner," Harry told him, calling Percy to giggle.
"You have green eyes and black hair, like me," Percy noted.
"Yeah, and?"
"Mum said my dad had green eyes and black hair like me," Percy said in a questioning tone.
"Trust me, kid, I'm not your dad," Harry chuckled. 'I would have remembered being with a bombshell like Mrs Jackson,' He thought.
"Hmm," Percy nodded as if expecting that answer. "I never see anyone else with eyes like ours."
"I got my face and my hair from my dad apparently, at least that's what everyone tells me," Harry told Percy. "My eyes I got from my Mum though,"
"Hmm, did you know you speak funny?" Percy asked genuinely.
"It's called a 'British accent'," Harry replied. "I speak a bit differently from you because I'm from England and people there talk differently."
"Why did you come here then?" Percy asked.
"Wanted a change, got bored with England," Harry answered.
"Where are your mum and dad?"
"Gone," Harry answered shortly. "I used to stay with my relatives, but they didn't like me and I didn't like them."
"Why didn't they like you?"
"You ask a lot of questions, kid," Harry couldn't help but point out. "They didn't like me because I was different, and I didn't like them because they were ugly."
"Ugly?" Percy laughed.
"My uncle looked like a really fat walrus, my aunt looked like a giraffe with a horse's face and my cousin looked like a baby elephant with a wig," Harry answered, causing Percy to laugh.
"You two seem like you're having fun," Sally said as she walked into the room, having changed into her regular clothes.
"Harry thinks that Gave is smelly and fat as well," Percy grinned, causing Harry to snort.
"I said no such thing," Harry denied.
"Did too,"
"Did not," Harry said as he got out from the sink and stood up. "Alright, Mrs Jackson, I sorted the tap out and checked your pipes, like you guessed, they've all burst somehow."
"Oh, do we have to have them replaced?" She frowned worriedly.
"No," Harry said a brief smirk appeared on his face. "They're fine, will work like magic," He told her.
"Oh thank goodness," She let out a sigh of relief. "So, how much do I owe you?"
"Nothing really," Harry shrugged. "The landlord's giving me a discount on my rent in exchange for me sorting out any and all building-related problems while I'm here."
"Oh, well I could make you some food then as a thank you," Sally decided.
"That's really not necessary, I..."
"I insist," Sally told him before gently ushering him towards the table and sitting him down.
"Can I have some food as well?" Percy asked hopefully.
"Of course, you're a growing boy, but Mr Potter first," Sally told Percy who ran over to the table and sat down.
"Just call me 'Harry' please, and this is really not necessary,"
"You can call me 'Sally' then and it is necessary, you've done us a good service without charging us, there's no way I'm not letting you leave without at least eating something." She said in a firm voice before heading to the kitchen. "Is there anything you won't eat? No dietary requirements? Vegan?"
"Not really," Harry replied as she began getting to work.
"Mum makes the best food," Percy told him.
"I suppose you would know," Harry simply nodded.
"Did your aunty cook for you?"
"She made me do the cooking,"
"Why?"
"Because horse-faced giraffes are annoying," Harry told Percy who laughed again. "So, any more questions?"
"I can think of some if you want," Percy said with a cheeky smile at Harry who stared at him for a moment.
"You are unfairly adorable," Harry decided.
"That's what all the people at work tell him," Sally spoke up from the kitchen. "And Percy, please don't bother Harry."
"It's no bother, really," Harry responded. "Kids should ask questions, at least that's what I think,"
"Well, either way, he'll be really quiet when the food's coming, then all you'll hear is his eating." Sally laughed. "Anyway, did you just move in today, Harry?"
"Yeah, I'm just on the floor beneath you guys," Harry nodded.
"And is that an English accent I hear? I've been to England once when I was younger, it was surprisingly more different than I thought it would be," She revealed.
"Same thing here," Harry gestured around. "The food's different, the language has some small differences but nothing major."
"I think that..." Sally trailed off as the door opened and Gabe walked in, a beer bottle in hand, swaying slightly with liquor on his breath and a bottle of beer in one hand.
"Sally!" He barked. "I'm hungry, fix up some..." He trailed off as he saw Harry sitting in his seat. "Who the hell are you?!" He blurted out drunkenly. "You brought another guy to my home?!" He shouted at Sally.
"Gabe, baby, calm down," Sally said quickly. "I didn't just..."
"What's he doing here?!" Gabe demanded, gesturing to Harry.
"Sir," Harry said calmly, standing up to face Gabe. "I am Harry Potter, I live downstairs. I just came here to..."
"Spend some time with my wife, is that it?!" Gabe cut in. "Work my ass off just to come home and find another man in my home!"
"You...happen to work in a pub?" Harry couldn't help but ask, smelling the alcohol on Gabe's breath. "I just came here to fix your sink,"
"Yeah, right!" Gabe growled before pushing Harry a couple of steps back.
"Gabe!" Sally gasped.
"Fixing my sink, you think I believe that?!" Gabe pushed Harry again, causing him to bump back against the wall behind him.
"It's true!" Percy shouted. "I helped him!"
"Shut it, Brat!" Gabe yelled before swinging his bottle straight at Harry's head. Harry raised his arm and the bottle shattered off of his forearm, leaving bits of glass in his forearm.
"Gabe!" Sally gasped and quickly rushed forward, pulling Gabe back while he stared at Harry who didn't really act beyond looking at his arm.
"That's not really nice," Harry said, almost sounding bored. "Now, I advise you to calm down and..."
"I'll do what I want, asshole!" Gabe pushed Sally off, causing her to fall on the floor.
"Mum!" Percy yelled just as Gabe charged towards Harry, throwing a punch straight at his head. Harry slipped his head to the side at the last second and Gabe screamed out in pain as his fist hit the wall behind him.
"I tried it the nice way," Harry shrugged before hitting Gabe square in the nose with a solid punch that caused the fat man to stumble back before falling on his butt.
"Cool," Percy whispered as he helped his mother up.
"You alright, Mrs Jackson?" Harry asked.
"I'm fine, I...Oh! You're bleeding!" She said, looking worriedly at Harry's arm which still had bits of glass in it.
"Hmm?" Harry looked down at his arm. "Oh, don't worry about that, I've had way worse." He said dismissively.
"Hmm, I can do this," Percy said determinedly as he walked over to Harry's apartment with a box in his hands that contained what Percy believed to be a tasty cake.
It had been a day since Harry had come over, and Percy's mum had made Harry a cake to say sorry for what happened with Gabe. Percy knew that his mum had already said sorry a lot of times but she was still feeling bad about what happened and had made Harry an 'I am so terribly sorry that my drunk husband tried to punch you' cake. Personally, Percy thought it was one of the best moments of his life, seeing Gabe hurt his hand and then get hit right in the face. Percy had already decided in his mind that Harry was his new hero and was now determined to make this delivery as nice as possible.
Percy stopped in front of Harry's door and coughed before he prepared to knock on it, he was about to knock on the door when he realised something.
'Wait, I'm using both hands to hold the cake, if I use one hand to knock on the door then the cake might drop and I can't let that happen. Maybe I should just kick the door, yeah, kick the door. Wait, is that rude? If I kick the door, then that might be rude. Well, it's not like Harry would know. Though Mum wouldn't like it, it's not like she'd know either. Wait, what if she does find out? No, how is she going to find out? I'll just kick the door. Hold up, what if Harry ends up opening the door just as I kick it and I miss and kick Harry in the leg? What if that makes me drop the cake? Maybe I should just knock on the door with my head, that'd hurt. But It can't hurt that much, right? Yeah, yeah I'll knock on the...'
"What are you doing?" A voice asked, causing him to jump as he saw that the door was open and Harry was now staring down at him.
"Oh, hi," Percy said sheepishly. "Sorry, I was thinking about something," He said, face turning red with embarrassment.
"Thinking is good," Harry said with a short nod. "So, what's up?"
"Mum made this for you, to say sorry about Gabe," Percy told him, holding up the cake. "Because Gabe's stupid," He couldn't help but add.
"Thanks," Harry snorted as he gently took the cake and walked back into his apartment to place it on his kitchen counter. "Your mum doesn't need to say sorry, it's not her fault," Harry said, preparing to step back towards the entrance, only to see that Percy had already walked inside.
"That's what I said," Percy shrugged before his eyes went wide as he noticed a silver sword with red jewels hanging on a wall. "You have a sword?" Percy gaped. "That's so cool!"
"It's fairly cool," Harry shrugged. "Don't touch it," He added when he saw Percy look like he wanted to walk over to it.
"Why not?" Percy frowned.
"It's coated in poison," Harry said dryly, aiming for a sarcastic tone.
"Wicked!" Percy grinned.
"Whatever, look kid, you want some cake?" Harry asked, gesturing to the cake that Percy had given him. Percy's grin got even bigger.
"Yes, please!" Percy said excitedly. "Mum makes the best cake," He told Harry who opened the box and blinked when he stared down at the cake.
"Why is it blue?" He wondered.
"Because blue cake is the best cake," Percy said in a matter-of-fact voice.
"Hmm," Harry took out a spoon and scooped up some of the cake, he gave it an experimental sniff before eating it. "Hmm, that is pretty good, now I regret offering it to share it with you."
"Too late, no takebacks!" Percy said quickly.
"Fine, let's eat this delicious cake, then you go back to your mum's place, I don't want her thinking I kidnapped you or something," Harry said, pulling out two plates.
"She won't think that because you're awesome," Percy said, using undefeatable logic.
Knock. Knock.
"Percy's finally back," Sally said to herself as she turned off her vacuum cleaner and walked towards the door, she opened it and blinked when she saw Harry standing alongside a smiling Percy. She couldn't help but notice that he was holding the cake box that she had given Percy.
"Hello, Mrs Jackson," Harry greeted her politely. "Is your husband home?"
"Um...he went out to work," Sally answered. "I'm sorry, is there a problem? Is it the cake? Did you not like it? I'm sorry, I..I can make a different one...I knew I shouldn't have made the blue cake. I can make you a chocolate one if you like or a strawberry one or I can make something different if you don't like cakes and..."
"Mrs Jackson, the cake was delicious," Harry cut her off. "Percy and I enjoyed it very much."
"Percy, that cake was for Harry," Sally sighed.
"It's alright, I insisted," Harry told her.
"We left some slices for you, Mum," Percy told her. "Not Gabe though, so I'll finish any slices you don't want to finish."
"I think you've had enough sugar, half-pint," Harry said, handing him the cake. "Go put that away, I want to talk to your Mum for a second,"
"Ok, bye Harry, it was nice meeting you," Percy said happily before walking off.
"Can we talk outside?" Harry asked, gesturing for her to come out.
"What is this about?" Sally asked as she closed the door behind her.
"Look, Percy seems like a great kid, and he likes you a lot so I'm guessing you're a pretty good, Mum." Harry began.
"Oh, well thank you," Sally smiled, blushing slightly.
"You're welcome, so...this is awkward but I'm just going to ask it, has your husband ever hit Percy?" Harry asked in a serious voice.
"What?" Sally asked, the very idea makes her look sick. "No, no, of course not, I'd never let him."
"That's good, I...well my relatives when I were growing up weren't the nicest if you know what I mean," Harry replied. "I just don't want that happening to anyone else, you understand?"
"Yes, of course, I understand completely. I..."
"What about you?" Harry quickly asked.
"W...what about me?"
"Does he hit you?" Harry looked at her intently.
"I...why would you..." Sally stuttered.
"I saw him push you yesterday,"
"He...he was drunk and..."
"That's not an excuse," Harry said firmly. "Look, it's not my business and I'm not going to get involved if you don't want me to. But that kid deserves better," He added whilst pulling out a card. "My number is on here and I'm just downstairs if you need me, call me if there are any problems and I'll come over."
"Wh...why?" Sally couldn't help but ask. "Why are you doing this?"
"I lived with my relatives for longer than I would like, if I can prevent someone from having the same thing happen to them then I will," He answered. "Besides, you don't deserve this, you're a pretty great mother from what Percy says. That makes you worth more than some drunk asshole. If he truly is causing you problems then tell me, I can get the police down here and..."
"No, no!" Sally said quickly. "Look, I know you think I'm being stupid but there's more going on here than you understand. I...Percy and I need Gabe here for...reasons I don't really think I can explain," She said with a deep sigh.
"Let me guess, Percy's a demi-god and Gabe's human stench will help ward off any monsters that might be interested in him, am I in the ballpark?"
"Well, sort of but I...wait...what?!" She gasped loudly as she looked at him. "You...you know all about..."
"Pretty much, yeah," Harry nodded. "I'm involved in a couple of worlds that are very different from your regular human worlds." He revealed.
"Are...are you a..." She took a deep breath and looked around to make sure nobody was listening. "...a god?"
"Nope," Harry said firmly. "I'm not, I'm someone else, something else."
"Did...did you come here for Percy?" Sally asked nervously.
"Nope, just a coincidence that you guys are here," He told her honestly. "I didn't know until I entered the building, Percy's hard to miss, he's quite powerful. With the right training, he'll be a dangerous person to watch out for. Either way, you don't really need Gabe, give me a minute with Percy and a simple spell and I can guarantee you no monsters will come near him."
"Is...is that really possible?" She couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah, and I can prove it,"
"Mum, there's a giant cat staring at me," Percy squeaked.
Sally found herself speechless as she stared at the truck-sized lion that was staring through her son like it didn't even see him at all. Harry had brought her and her son out to a large grass field where they had found it sitting there, seemingly minding its own business. Meanwhile, Harry was standing right next to her, an amused expression on his face as he crossed his arms and looked between Sally, Percy and the massively monstrous lion.
"Is...is that a..." Sally trailed off.
"A Nemean Lion, yes," Harry confirmed.
"But...but it's not even doing anything to Percy, it's not even reacting to him!" She blurted out.
"I told you, my spell will keep him safe. He'll be safe from any and all monsters, they won't notice him until he enters Camp Half-Blood." Harry replied. "Tell him anything you want, take him wherever you want. He'll be safe, I promise you,"
"I...I don't know what to say," Sally looked at him with teary eyes. "I...thank you, thank you so much."
"The kid doesn't deserve to be chased by monsters all his life," Harry shrugged. "Nor does he deserve to have an abusive relative just to be safe. I'm not going to interfere in your personal life, but right now, you don't need Gabe to keep Percy safe. It's up to you if you want to stick with him or not,"
"I...I guess I'll think about it," Sally said, thoughtfully before she turned and spotted Percy. "No, Percy! Out of the lion's mouth!"
Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Huh?" A sleepy Harry blinked.
Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Alright, alright, I'm coming," He huffed as he got out of his bed.
Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!
Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!
"I said I'm coming," He grunted as he walked over to the door and opened it just in time for Percy to hit him in the leg. "Ow," He said dryly as he stared down at the young demigod in front of him, one that appeared to be crying. "How may I help you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I need your help!" Percy said urgently as he grabbed Harry by the arm and tried to pull him, though Harry didn't budge.
"With what?" Harry asked with a frown.
"I...need your help...Gabe...Gabe hit my mum!" Percy cried.
"What?" Harry asked coldly.
"He hit Mum!" Percy repeated.
"Get in," Harry told Percy while pointing inside his apartment. "Go and watch TV or something."
"But my..."
"I'll sort your mother's situation out, you stay here while I do it," Harry told Percy who looked like he wanted to argue. "Now!" Harry told him firmly. Percy stared at him for a moment before huffing and stomping into Harry's apartment angrily and plopping down onto Harry's sofa. "I'll handle it,"
"Why can't I come?" Percy whined.
"Because your mum won't want you to see what I'm about to do," Harry told him before closing the door and then heading straight to Sally's apartment.
Less than twenty seconds later he was outside the door and knocked on it. The door opened to reveal Gabe, standing as unimpressive as usual and looking even less impressed.
"Can I help you?" Gabe asked coldly.
"Where's your wife?" Harry asked bluntly.
"What do you want with her?" Gabe asked.
"To talk," Harry said impatiently.
"I don't think I want a random guy talking with my wife, now get out of my face before I call the police," Gabe said threateningly.
"Did you hit her?" Harry asked frostily.
"Who told you I hit her? I ain't ever hit no woman in my entire life," Gabe said quickly. "Who told you I hit her? Huh? The kid? Little Brain-Boy, huh? A kid can't read a book and you trust him to tell you what's happened or hasn't happened. Let me tell you something, Pal, what happens in my house is my business, not yours. Butt out, where's the kid?"
"Show me where Sally is, now," Harry told him, glaring at him.
"Do you want me to call the police?" Gabe glared back.
"Do it, I dare you, matter of fact," Harry pulled out his phone and held it up with a challenging look on his face. "I'll call the police myself, do you want to do it or do you want to let me in?" Harry shoved his way past Gabe before he could answer. "Sally," Harry called as he walked into the apartment with Gabe chasing after him.
"Oi! Wait a minute, buddy I..."
"Sally?" Harry blinked when he spotted Sally in the kitchen, a bruise on her face. "Sally, you alright?"
"Harry? I'm fine, really, I..." Her voice caught in her throat as she bit back a sob, staring at him with teary eyes.
"Alright, that's it, Sally, head down to my apartment, Percy's waiting there for you," Harry ordered.
"Wait a minute, Pal!" Gabe snarled, he grabbed Harry's shoulder and tried to pull him only to gasp as he suddenly found himself shooting up into the air and ended up with his back pinned against the ceiling. "What the fuck?!"
"Sally," Harry told the stunned woman. "Go to Percy, I'll sort this out." She stared at him for a moment, looking like she wanted to argue before she stared coldly at Gabe. She glared at him for a moment before looking at Harry.
"Thank you," She said gratefully before walking out of the apartment, closing the door behind her.
"Now then," Harry gave a wicked grin to Gabe. "What to do with you?"
A.N: Hey guys, hope you liked the chapter. This is a two-chapter story, the idea came into my head and I couldn't get it out so I had to write it (#writerproblems). I hope you liked it, part 2 will be out soon and if anyone is interested then I personally like to cast Alexandra Daddario (I hope I spelt that right) as Sally Jackson.
