Song inspiration: Strangers Like Me - from the soundtrack 'Tarzan' (Phil Collins)

Note: So, I've been rewatching Tarzan, even 'Legend of Tarzan', and this idea popped into my head. Finally conquered my ADHD.

Climb Every Mountain

It was daunting that Belle learned that she was descended from a Greek hero and Greek mythology existed. To top it off, she had to move to a new school in a different city to learn.

Life was never going to be normal again, and it just got weirder and weirder.

Everything was daunting, yet fun.

It was so mystical, so alien, yet they were strangers like her.

Apollo was assigned as her God mentor. He taught her prophecy, medicine, and the arts.

Prophecy was a little hard, but was still exciting. With medicine, she was basically the team's first aid, so that would come in handy.

Apollo tried to teach Belle the lyre, but she didn't have the fingers for it.

Since she was a descendant of Bellerophon, the Gods gave her Pegasus.

When the winged horse first approached her, he nuzzled her warmly. She patted his face, hugging him as she closed her eyes.

She could tell they were going to be best friends, just as he was with Bellerophon.

The Gods gave Belle the Golden Bridle, the same one the original Rider used on Pegasus. Remembering the tale how the bride made Pegasus into an obedient servant, she shook her head.

Belle could never do that to him.

Nor to any other animal as majestic a creature as him.

Apollo being the Sun God, one day, Belle will guide the sun with Pegasus.

The first ride she had with Pegasus in the skies that day was the best moment in her life.

Making friends with everyone at Olympus High was easy. The girls she got along fine with. The guys seemed to be decent people.

Though Neil was something else.

Being the descendant of Narcissus, there was a certain… quality about him.

Theresa and Atlanta even told him to be careful around him.

But if he was bad as they said, even as bad as Narcissus, how could it be so?

The first week she was at the school during a training exercise, there was a rock slide, and he moved her out of the way when she was stuck.

That wasn't a bad person at all.

Since she was new to New Olympia, and she was going to go out grocery shopping, Neil had nothing better to do. She still didn't know her way around town, so a guide would be helpful.

"Ah, I'm just going to window shop," he said as he got out his sunglasses. It was a bright day.

Knowing that fashion was his very existence, she had a feeling he wasn't just going to 'window shop'.

New Olympia was a quaint city. Far from the rural farm life she had with her horses on the stables in Alberta. There were unique shops locally owned.

They stepped into a cafe. She never had a chai tea latte before, but Neil said they were great. After a yoga work out, they really helped.

As she sipped the new drink, it was spicy and sweet. As her eyes widen a little bit from the spice, Neil had a light chuckle. She chuckled back a little, clearing her mouth with her hand.

They walked through the mall to the grocery store. They passed by five stores, and Neil bought at least one thing from all of them. By some miracle, they got to the grocery store.

As she picked up an apple at the stand, she felt her chest grow heavy. Her horse, Duffy would come up to her, and she'd always give him an apple.

They were his favourite out of all the treats she gave him.

"You miss home, do you?" asked Neil.

When she introduced herself to the seven, she showed them one of her horse jumping competition photos with Duffy. She mentioned Duffy's love of apples somewhere.

Belle looked to Neil. "Yeah, I guess I do."

"Maybe you could give that to Pegasus, once he's been good."

They both laughed. Out of all the team, Pegasus didn't like Neil. He would always imply that he would make Neil fall off midair.

"And besides, with Hermes tech and Pegasus, you can go back home no prob. Your family is always with you."

A light smile was on her face. "Thanks…"

There was a mission that required to ride on Pegasus. Most of the team were fine with Pegasus, though no surprise there, Neil would still get uneasy. Since Neil was too afraid to get on Pegasus, the mission wasn't as successful, but the team still pulled through.

This couldn't happen all the time.

Neil got her to conquer her fears. Now it was time for her to help conquer his.

Belle pushed Neil towards the winged horse. Neil had his hands up. "No, there's no way I'm going to ride on Pegasus…!"

"The mission almost failed cus you were too afraid," she began. "It's time for you two to get along…!"

Pegasus gave Belle a look and shook his head.

She shot a look at Pegasus. "We're doing this whenever you like it or not."

Once they finished mounting, Belle clicked with her tongue. "Fly on."

Pegasus trotted, and soon they were in the air. Neil's hands were on Belle's shoulders, shivering as if he were in the Arctic.

It was the evening, and the sun was just about to set in the horizon. The mix of light and the soon to be evening made the sky like a canvas. It was like a painting in front of them. The snow capped mountains looked so different in the evening.

Least the scenery got Neil to relax a bit.

Belle was utterly speechless. She had no idea the outskirts of New Olympia could be this beautiful. Perhaps she should do this more often.

"It reminds me of Alberta…" She felt herself say.

"Guess home's not that far away, huh?" Neil could finally talk.

They both laughed.

The move to New Olympia was tough, though out of all the times she felt alone, she was glad Neil was beside her.
