CHAPTER SIX

Shisui landed on the rooftop of a tiny plaza overlooking the village hotsprings. It was an odd place for a meeting but then again, Fukurou was one odd guy.

He still wasn't sure how Fukurou knew half the stuff he did nor how he kept convincing Shisui to take really foolish actions like provoking Kakashi-senpai or stealing information about the Jinchuuriki from the ANBU archives.

If he didn't know Fukurou did not have the Mangekyo, Shisui would have 100 percent believed that the six-year-old had some variation of his Kotoamatsukami.

Shisui held out the file. "If the Hokage finds out, we're both dead men, you know that?"

Not taking his eyes of the hot springs, Fukurou grabbed the file containing classified information on Konoha's JInchuuriki. "He'll have bigger concerns to deal with."

"What did you do?" Shisui really wished he could stop being so curious all the time.

But it was hard, especially when the definitely-not-a-kid kept acting like he had more experience than Sarutobi HIiruzen.

"I baited Kakashi into training again." Fukurou hummed, glancing through the file at a speed Shisui had come to envy. The brat was really good at paperwork. "Ambushed him at the memorial but he managed to escape. Pretty sure Namikaze and Kushina are going to intervene for him soon."

"You do realize Kakashi-senpai wants to be left alone?"

"If people knew exactly what they needed, psychology would be dead thrice over." Fukurou's words were calm but Shisui felt the bite. "Now, this file says that Kushina became the Jinchuuriki when she was ten."

Shisui sneezed at the sudden draft of cold. "They make them young. Kids are supposed to make for better vessels because their chakra systems are more malleable."

"Or better to indoctrinate them."

Shisui winced. Fukurou could get quite biting about the shinobi lifestyle.

Fukurou continued to flip through the file.

Shisui decided to distract Fukurou. "Where's Itachi?" His twin brother was one topic that always seemed to brighten the brat right up.

"At home taking care of mother." Fukurou smiled. "The doctors say she should be giving birth soon. Itachi gets anxious about it and he keeps trying to do everything."

The brat chuckled. "Father keeps wearing his quiet smile whenever he sees Itachi. Mother is amused and utterly exasperated but she lets Itachi mother her. She knows it keeps him calm which, in turn, keeps her calm."

"Are you really six years old?" Shisui had repeated that question far too many times.

"I'm three hundred and six." And Fukurou had never given him a straight answer.

"You ever going to be straight with me?"

"I'll give you the entire plan after I speak to the Kyuubi."

Shisui sighed. "Finally. A straight an-" His brain fizzled for a moment. "I must have misheard. I thought you said you wanted to talk to the Kyuubi."

"You misheard. I actually to pet and cuddle him if possible too."

"Right, because that makes all the-" Shisui wanted to smash Fukurou's head against a wall. "You do realize it's the Kyuubi, right? Giant fox that can level Konoha with one swipe of a tail. A monster that's been around for over a thousand years."

"And it can flatten Konoha by sitting down. Got any new information?"

Shisui really wanted to strangle the brat now. "How about both the Hokage and Kushina-sama killing us both when they find out? I am not looking forward to dying by Kunai or chakra chains."

Shisui leaned into Fukurou's space. "And that's if your parents don't get to you or me first."

Fukurou smiled. "So scared of such a small thing. How did the ANBU ever recruit you?"

"Even the ANBU would be running in the other direction if the Hokage or Kushina-sama were running towards them."

Fukurou waved his hand and the file vanished into one of the storage seals inked into his wrists. "You need to learn to live a little."

"Did you drop yourselves on the head one too many times, Fukurou?"

"Itachi asked me the exact question."

"And what insane thing did you say to him?"

"I wanted him to figure out how Steel Release works."

Shisui opened his mouth, closed it and then opened it again, only to realize he had no idea what to say to that little tidbit.

"Now, stay here. I'll go get our guest." Fukurou stepped to the edge of the roof.

Shisui did not know whether to laugh or cry at the brat's nonchalance. "What guest?"

Fukurou smiled. "Keep your ears closed and eyes peeled." He jumped off and landed without a sound on the road four stories down.

Shisui watched him approach a patch of wall covering the female side of the hot springs. When Fukurou waved to him, he covered his ears because he knew exactly what the brat was about to do.

True to his prediction, Fukurou took a deep breath and let his chakra enhanced voice roll over the entire street. "HEY UNCLE! WHY ARE YOU LOOKING OVER THE HOT SPRING WALLS?"

Shisui watched in fascination as the air over the wall distorted and a man wearing very distinctive clothing fell over. He could see the birds buzzing over the man's thick white hair.

Before he could have a second to process Fukurou knocking out one of the Sannin, a group of Kuniochi in hastily worn clothing jumped over the walls.

Shisui ducked before they could spot him but was still treated to the sounds that signified the roused wrath of a female in full form.

Ten minutes later, Fukurou's voice fell over the rooftop. "Shisui, come down. They left."

Shisui landed down to find Fukurou dragging a beaten and confused Jiraiya to lean against the wooden wall of the hot springs.

"Hello, Little Toad." Fukurou's words dragged the Sannin's attention to him. "I've got a job for you. Succeed and I'll reward you handsomely. Refuse, and I'll make sure you get a repeat of your last peek on Tsunade."

Shisui watched Jiraiya perform a full body shiver, despite his already bruised and aching body hurting beyond belief. Insane the brat might be but he had the tone of a serial killer down pat.
